Wow. This may be a good place to purchase flowers but I wonder what the work environment is like, based on my recent experience in trying to obtain a job here. I spoke with a gentleman named "Bill", and boy was he a real treat. I explained that I had worked with another florist for many years and that I was interested in a office position they had available. I told him I had graduated recently from college and was interested in filling out an application. He said it was part-time, around 20 hrs a week and that I was probably really looking for full time employment...interesting assumption considering the man didn't know me.... I told him I had an ebay business and that 20 hrs a week didn't sound bad, it would be a great companion to my existing ebay business as far as money was concerned. "Bill" abruptly said, "I don't think I want to talk to you anymore", and he hung up the phone. This act of rudeness made me think....how does a business ever grow with this type of customer/employee/prospective employee attitude? I thought the man was joking at first, he wasn't. Extremely rude and weird business behavior does not sit well with me. I have purchased flowers here before...never again. Why would anyone treat a person seeking employment with a company this way? And I thought I had seen it all....one word of advice to "Bill" and others like this....people will perceive your business negatively if you treat them negatively....kind of a no-brainer. As a business person I hate to see companies ran like this and if "Bill" is a manager, he needs training, and if he just answers the phone he needs to stay off of it. What a joke.
