Great florist - best in the area and a welcome addition to the Metuchen area. The shop is beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and professional and the flowers are always beautiful and always done on time. I have ordered about 5-6x in the last couple of years or since they have been opened and am always pleased. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Last order was on Valentine's Day, 2012 and the arrangement was A++++

I placed an unusual request last minute on a Friday at 5pm long distance for a funeral. They made me an arrangement in the shape of dog bone to be delivered that Sunday. It arrived on time and was gorgeous. It exceeded my expectation. To say that I am pleased with their service is an understatement. I would highly recommend them.

HIGHLY recommend Gardenias Floral! Samantha was amazing to work with and took note of all of my annoying detailed requests. Also, I knew literally NOTHING about flowers but Samantha was able to pick out the most beautiful flowers and greens for my wedding based on my vision and color scheme. Centerpieces were exactly how i had imagined them and more. Bouquets and boutonnieres were perfect, even the flower girl wreaths were precious! Amazing work and very reasonable price for flowers! You will not be disappointed!

I have received floral arrangements as gifts from Gardenias and was always impressed by the beautiful arrangements and quality of the flowers. When my family needed a large arrangement for my mother's memorial, I knew I wanted a Gardenias arrangement and I was blown away! Athena's work is simply amazing!! The owner seem little too serious and was following me around. I was not offended, but seems little unnecessary for a flower shop. Most guys who come in dont have a clue about what to get.

The fullness of the flowers delivered did not match the picture on their website. I specifically asked which category the flowers pictured was. Although the funeral basket was pretty, the arrangement I felt was too sparse. The picture showed way more flowers, a very full basket however what was delivered to the funeral home was not nearly as nice. I understand flowers will need to be substituted. My complaint is the lack of flowers. I was disappointed and upset. Unfortunately I will not use or recommend Gardenias.

The owner, Sam was unfriendly and unappreciative of my business. She wore a scowl the entire time while accepting my money and not so much as a thank you for her overpriced flowers. I will not be returning & suggest you look elsewhere. >EDIT< A reply to Sam the Owner’s response... Sam, you do NOT even know who I am! To begin with, while Debbie Simczak is my Real Name (married) ~ I use my middle name and maiden, last name in my Professional life. Beyond that, I had the displeasure of handing you my money not in the morning but in the late afternoon, So... you are lying through your teeth! Now... “chronic RBF???” After showing that to my husband, I almost had to take him to the Emergency Room! He laughed so hard I thought he was going to have a stroke! PEOPLE... look it up, please. Chronic RBF! OMG! Notwithstanding the fact that you (Sam) are totally lying, when you are conducting business with and directly in front of ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS.... SMILE! Stepped inside the store to look for some flowers for my spouse. The person at the register has an attitude and gives dirty looks without any courteous welcome greeting. Then I look at the prices and the flowers are wayyyy over priced. They are selling a rose at $6 each. I don’t see the justification in that. To me, great customer service is important, and I didn’t feel that from the lady at the register. The negative vibe and over priced flowers discourages me from coming here again.

We sent flowers to our friend's mother's funeral. The arrangement was $150 and I was totally embarrassed. It was horrible. If we're spending $150, it would be nice to use roses instead of sunflowers.

My family wanted a beautiful cross arrangement with special flowers in the middle representing each of my mothers children for her funeral mass. When I got to the church I was greatly disappointed with the arrangement. The 1 sunflower was dead and the 1 tulip was falling out. The back was supposed to be mixed Rose's and carnations but was all carnations with a few white Rose's up top. For just about $300 I was shocked, after taking it home from the church we ended up just throwing it away immediately. So very disappointing...

My boyfriend gave me a dozen red and purple long stem roses from this shop the Friday before Valentine's day. They were beautiful and the arrangement was full. Came with a vase. The red ones lasted up until 2 days ago and the purple ones are still healthy and on my coffee table. I am impressed.

I had a date with a girl so I wanted to get her flowers. My date was in Metuchen so I looked up the closest florist, and I found one right on the main drag, main street. I went in to the shop and was pleased with how good it smelled in the store. The staff was just as pleasant and were very helpful. In and out it took me only ten minutes. Affordable, beautiful flowers, and my date liked them :)

We used Gardenias for our Wedding on July 29, 2017. Samantha was so nice and made the process of choosing all of the flowers great! She had the best prices we found. She delivered everything to the hotel where the guys were getting ready, to the church with set up, and then to venue and set up. It was flawless. We even had over 90 small votive arrangements for the place cards done . Samantha even put the place-cards in and organized them at the venue. The flowers also latest almost 2 weeks after the wedding! Couldn't of been happier with the customer service and the flowers!!!

Gardenia flowers has a good variety of flowers. However, the proprietor is not flexible at all and takes things way too personal instead of being professional. I was going to use her for my wedding reception. In all fairness, she tried to make a sample centerpiece for us and it seemed a bit amateur like and did not appear like a professional design at all. I don't know if she had an "off" day. I went with her based on her reviews, but now I know not to trust Google reviews. The kicker was we asked her if she would have any room for flexibility on price, but instead of her working with us or giving us options to work with, she gave us attitude. We asked her to give us store credit instead of a return because we felt bad for not using her and we would just use it in her shop. She then replied, "I'm very upset at this point and feel uncomfortable. You are free to go" pouting and as if we were children being reprimanded. Instead of saying graciously, "okay, sorry it didn't work out and you are not happy with the design, I hope we can do business in the future for other things", she disregarded us and dismissed us. From the beginning she was not nice and never pleasant. We just thought she had a bad day and went with it. Now I realize she basically has a terrible demeanor for this business. I am sure she is a better person outside of the shop, but in our opinion, she is not cut out for dealing directly with clients. Shop around first is my advice. Best of luck to all. No hard feelings. Just wish it was a different experience considering it was for my wedding. Found an amazing florist, paid in full and happy again!

We had ordered 7 low, mid size arrangements for my daughter's baby shower. My daughter ended up having the baby 5 weeks early and we had to post pone the shower. Because of all the craziness we had to postpone the shower and were only able to call Gardenia's to notify them of this 2 days before the event. Instead of being sympathetic to the fact that my daughter had her baby 5 weeks early with complications, they had the nerve to say they'd charge us 65% for the flowers they had ordered. When we said that wasn't fair, they hung up on us since we had already paid for the flowers in advance. They then called my daughter back saying they felt quilty, and said they'd charge us 50% for the flowers. Again, to charge someone 50% for a small amount of flowers seems ludicrous to us. For the actual shower we'd have to go ahead and pay this 50% again. We were willing to pay about 25% for the flowers as flowers don't cost that much at cost. Not only were they rude, but unsympathetic. Will never EVER use them!!!

We were very excited to work with Samantha at Gardenias Floral for our July 7th wedding. We had met with other local florists, but immediately knew that Samantha was the right fit for us based on her personality and creativity. She worked within our budget and gave us ideas for our bridal party flowers, ceremony, and cocktail hour/reception flowers. We had several meetings with Samantha over the course of our wedding planning. She always put our minds at ease, as we could sense that she'd do a great job. A few months before the wedding, we were able to arrange a meeting to see mock-ups of our wedding flowers, including the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, ceremony pew bows with flowers, and centerpieces. Seeing what our flowers would look like made us even more excited for our Wedding Day! When July 7th finally arrived, Samantha and her team did a fabulous job of putting together the most beautiful flowers...and they delivered them all ahead of schedule! We were truly in awe of how wonderful the flowers looked for our bridal party of 16 (+3 kids), our parents, and of course, ourselves. They also decorated the pews at our church and drove down to Spring Lake to deliver flowers for our cocktail hour and reception. All of the flowers were fresh and lasted well beyond our wedding day. Every time we look at our wedding photographs, we are reminded of how awesome our flowers looked that day. We could not have been happier with our decision to work with Samantha and Gardenias Floral. We highly recommend Gardenias Floral to anyone in need of flowers for a special occasion.

I was the recipient of the order, which was delivered a week early. After the the delivery guy realized the date was mixed he came back for my balloons and said they will redeliver them in a week. The delivery person was very rude. It is a second time I have bad experience with this store. A couple of years ago they delivered flowers that were almost dead.

Samantha was amazing. She listened carefully to exactly what I needed and what I received was way beyond my expectations. She did floral arrangements for mason jars I had put together with burlap lace and flowers for my mother’s 70th birthday event and I couldn’t be more happy with how beautiful they turned out. I will definitely be using her again for any future events and I would absolutely recommend her to everyone.
