The grounds are beautiful. There is a really pretty lake right off of West Randolph. It is easy to locate from the road being right across from Saint Charles Park and Recreation's Blanchette Park. Parkview Gardens doesn't sell trees. This is very odd. It is a nursery after all. I was not impressed with the limited amount of items they sell.

They have a good selection of plants, even in the off-season. Outdoor perennials and annuals, indoor container plants, hanging baskets, and even a few terrarium plants. I love my Alocasia polly and English ivy I bought here. They all seem well cared-for and the owners are very knowledgeable. The arranged flower planters make a great, quick gift. They also have a (rather limited) selection of ceramic, terra cotta, and plastic planters, soil, and other supplies. In addition, Parkview also has a florist shop n the building adjacent to the greenhouse, with trinkets and gifts. Never used this service more than once, but they had arrangements ready-to-go that were suitable for my need (funeral.) I sometimes just like to relax in the quiet greenhouse's warm, oxygen-rich atmosphere, in the company of the lush, verdant frondescence. I have lots of great memories as a child visiting with my mom and looking at all the big frogs that populate the pond out front during the summer months.

I usually never have a problem with this place and I go anytime I need any flower(s) for any occasion. But when I ordered my flowers on a Monday to pick up on a Saturday, I was given instructions that I would be called and they would be ready at 2:30 pm that Saturday, which was the day I needed them. Unfortunately, I got a very bitter and rude call at 2 pm saying if I ever intended to pick up my order and that they would be closing soon. The lady on the other end then promptly hung up. Then after quickly driving there, when I received my order it was NOTHING that I asked for. If I intend to spend $35+ I expect it to be correct. Not perfect, but as I ASKED and PAID for. And there was no way for me to fix this order because I needed my order for that day. Very disappointed. And extremely upset.

Parkview Gardens is my go-to florist. Their designer, Bren, is very talented and creative. The entire staff is knowledgeable, professional, and so willing to help. Plus, their roses are the best and the most fragrant.
