Rochester, MN, has a variety of florists. I've given most of them a try for one reason or another. I stumbled across Carousel Floral when we first moved to Rochester some 6 years ago. My Carousel experiences were a mixed bag. There were times when our arrangements would die the next day and some that would last for quite a while. I did have an experience recently that has probably put me off from coming back... This last Valentine's Day I had a tough scenario where I started a new job only a few weeks prior and my daughter was sick the entire week, so I was in a bit of a pickle in terms of getting a floral arrangement. On this particular day I was in a bit of a time crunch, so I thought I'd give Carousel another try since it was later in the evening and they were open versus other florists. They had multiple signs up that stated "Valentine's Day Special: spend $59.99 and receive a coupon for a free dozen roses." I purchased an arrangement and candies for my wife and young daughter that exceeded that amount (sans tax). After I had paid I asked if I could have the coupon. The clerk, Bob, told me the arrangement had to be $59.99 or more not including other items. I was a little annoyed with this as EVERY sign was vague and simply stated you had to spend $59.99 NOT just on one particular thing. With Bob's permission I asked if I could see if I could meet the criteria by swapping my arrangement for another; yet, I couldn't find anything that wasn't astronomically priced. I returned to Bob and said I would settle for what I had, and the man gave me the stink eye making comments to his colleagues about how I was being difficult. He had told me that he had already refunded me for the arrangement I had and that I would have to buy it again. At the end of the day, I got what I came for, but it wasn't without a certain level of annoyance and, at least on Valentine's Day a bit of embarrassment. I can't blame Carousel for wanting have customers meet a criteria in order to take advantage of a promotion; however, it wasn't clearly marked what needed to be done to meet it. Also, a customer shouldn't be ridiculed for asking about the promotion, not spending enough to meet its criteria, and seeking to meet it. Just the same you can't blame a customer for wanting to take advantage of something you are advertising. As of yet Carousel's refund hasn't hit my bank, so I'm probably going to have to get on them about that, where it has already been several days. Just know that if you do visit this florist you are rolling the dice in terms of customer service and quality. The odds aren't in your favor.

I have bought plants from there numerous times in the past. Some say their prices are high. I feel like they are fair considering the quality of their plants. They have all held up exceptionally well, opposed to plants that I have gotten elsewhere for cheaper. Their customer service had been pretty good too. I had been checking in at both locations several times looking for a specific plant. I did not know the name of this plant merely the general family it was in, and what it looked like. Neither store had it in stock. Today I spoke with Mike. He blew any and every expectation I had for customer service out of the water. I can't say that I have ever had somebody in customer service go to the extent he did to ensure my customer satisfaction. This guy defiantly deserves some recognition! Thanks Mike!

I pick out my own flowers from the refrigerator to make my own bouquet. I asked the gentleman that checked me out "How can I best cut and care for these?" He gave me simple directions and I followed them to a T. They were out the the refrigerator, cut, and into water within 20 minutes. About 2 hours after my purchase the flowers were wilting already. I was bummed and called and left a voicemail. The next morning (when my flowers were looking like they were a week old) a kind man called me back apologizing and offered new flowers. I came in the next morning and they kindly gave me new hydrangeas and offered to touch up my home made arrangement. Super pleased that they kindly addressed my concern and gave me new flowers. My boss was pleased to see her beautiful bouquet! Thanks, Carousel! Great customer service!

As far as product and looks is concerned, this place is gorgeous. I was enchanted while walking around with a friend. Outside has a wide assortment of pots and outside decor. Inside is not ideal for children, and has an overload of decor. This store is for everyone wanting to decorate. But service isn't as kind as hoped. A bit snooty and short. Don't expect much help.

My husband has ordered flowers for me from Carousel many times. He very sweetly ordered me a bouquet of roses at 1pm and asked it to be delivered to our home, less than a mile away from the Carousel store. For some reason (and this has happened with every flower delivery I have ever had from Carousel) they called me ahead of time (thus spoiling the surprise) and said to expect the delivery around 3pm. At 4pm there was no sign of them, so I called the store and the lady informed me that the driver was making a delivery in Byron (10 miles away) and would definitely be here with my flowers by 5pm. Why they didn't handle my delivery first when we were only a mile away rather than 10 miles is beyond me. Well, we waited the whole evening and no one came. Finally, the NEXT DAY I got a call from the driver (who sounded like he was 103 years old) who delivered the flowers. They were three days old by this point and they were wrapped in a plastic bag: moisture had accumulated on them until they had turned brown. A disgraceful experience. Will never order from them again.

It was so easy to order on line. The staff was so helpful and friendly when the delivery date had to be changed due to the health of the patient. It is very unfortunate that when you order flowers in my case it was the premium lovely lavender premium @ 89.99 + a delivery fee that they have on their website when they arrived it look nothing like what they were trying to say they look like I received a very light bouquet seem to be missing a lot of flowers from the original picture and it didn't even come in a purple vase hate to say but a purple ribbon doesn't take place of a vase though they were lovely flowers I would recommend people to really think about what they're ordering cuz for the price I don't feel like I got what I paid for which is unfortunate cuz I like to support small business look at the pictures for yourself the one on the right is the stock photo off the website what i thought i was getting the one on the left is what I received just use caution when ordering from this florist

Below is the online order of orange/yellow striped mum placed prior to 8 am. Delivery was after 4 pm in same town of plain YELLOW garden mum in a basket. Called, said that was what they felt was a good replacement because they did not have what was pictured on their website. Suggested calling in after placing order on line to see if they have what was ordered. Really? False advertising for sure! Go elsewhere.

Carousel Floral always has a nice selection of premade floral arrangements. I was trying to sneak home with flowers for my wife for our anniversary and the staff there was able to put together a small arrangement in about 15 minutes while I waited. Staff is always friendly and happy to help.

I ordered a $99 premium bouquet from the website. The checkout process was efficient, the item was delivered the same day, but the bouquet was a disappointment. I ordered their top of the line selection and was expecting the item to look similar to that shown on the website, full and lush. What we received was much smaller, full of a lot of green, leafy fillers and did not meet my expectations. I would be hesitant to use Carousel again.
