This has quickly become my slice of heaven. The shop has such a great vibe and set up that you can't help but want to take your time and look at everything. The single stem flower section is amazing and I love how you can make your own arrangements and they wrap it up and make it look even prettier!

Nice selection, very well organized and the staff is friendly. They can get a little overwhelmed and the line at the cashier will back up so be prepared to potentially have to wait.

I love the store, though I take two stars because they do not stock hanging nerpathes pitcher plants (did I spell that right?). I you want a bigger selection, just go to American Plant.

I ordered my wedding bouquet at Johnson’s. My bouquet was not what I asked for. I was highly disappointed with the look and design. Mary made sure I didn’t leave the store until I had a smile on my face. 1000 THANKS to MARY for fixing up my bouquet - just the way I wanted it!

I had Johnson's do the flowers for my wedding, and even though they probably aren't known for their floral arrangements -- they should be! Marta was a delight to work with, and very accommodating. I had initially wanted dahlias, but decided I didn't like them when I saw them in person. Marta was very patient with me and helped me pick out an amazing, unique flower -- the king protea -- and designed gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces with them. I got compliments from almost every single guest on how awesome the flowers looked. Johnson's does top quality work for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

The staff has been friendly, given me excellent advice and I've purchased some great and unusual plants from them over the decades.

Ordered a dozen roses to be delivered on Valentine's Day and they never arrived. I called and was told they would look into it and call me back. They never called back. I emailed them and was told they would look into it and get back with me, they never did. Emailed them again and no response. It's been six days and no call or email back and no resolution. It's like a Seinfeld episode.... They are good at taking the order, they just aren't good at delivering the order. Which really is the most important part of the whole transaction. I have been ordering flowers from this florist for ten years. They used to be top notch, amazing flowers, superior quality and fantastic customer service. But this time not only did they completely fail on the most important day of the year for them; but they continued to fail there after by simply not responding. Their flowers may still be great but if they can't follow through on the delivery what good is it? If they had dropped the ball on the delivery but then followed up and made up for their complete failure I would have forgiven them. But to fail and then completely ignore me afterwards is inexcusable. They even charged me for the delivery!!! Thankfully AMEX is awesome about handling disputes, of course, I shouldn't have needed to do that either. But it's not like I can get them to respond so it's the only option I have.

Super garden shop! I love visiting Johnson's for my outdoor gardening supplies and plants, but this time, I was visiting specifically for a new indoor plant. In this visit, I brought home a Peace Lily and named it Sweet Dan Butterman. Johnson's has a variety of lush greenery for keeping inside your home, or giving as long lasting green gifts. Alternatively, if you're seeking some temporary seasonal style, they have budding cherry tree branches you can purchase to bring a bit of cherry blossom season indoors! I enjoy the variety of plants and nice decorative pot options Johnson's offers. The look of the shop is welcoming and encourages exploration through the island stations of plants, gifts, and planting accessories. While not really plant-related, my favorite part of the shop is their cute and colorful budgies in residence. Those little parakeets never fail to make me smile.

hands down the best flowers in the area. I have been going to Johnson's for over two years and they always have top quality flowers. Their arrangements are always beautiful. I have experienced a few issues upon delivery of arrangements but they are quick to make correct their errors and thus why they deserve 5 stars. With all florist I think going to the the stores is the best route to go when placing an order as issues may arise upon delivery.

Not happy with customers service. Three months ago a friend gave me an orchid bought at Johnson's. I followed to the letter the provided care instructions. Within ten days all the flowers died. Two months after getting the plant, one stem turned light brown, I went to Johnson's for help. Cathy re-potted the plant, told me that the root system was very healthy, and suggested that I wait two weeks before watering it. I followed the suggestion. Now four weeks later, all the leaves have fallen. I went back to Johnson's today, mid morning, there was no customer in the place. Cathy made me feel strongly like I was an annoyance, she looked at the plant and blamed me for watering it too much (I did exactly as I was suggested and according to the provided instructions). She told me to leave the plant alone, and she told me also that it is normal that orchid only leaves three months. A three month life span for an orchid with adequate care??? This is not the way to cultivate customers. I am so disappointed that I decided not to advertise and promote Johnson's to my family and friends, especially to HPSI where I am a volunteer teacher. By the way, I just found that "Officescapedirect" sells artificial orchids which are gorgeous and stay magnificent much longer than three months.

Personally and through my company, we use Johnson's in Kensington as much as possible! The flowers are always gorgeous, and we get very many thanks for sending. Kathy in Kensington is wonderful. Her level of customer service and knowledge is the best I have received. She always matches my budget with a beautiful arrangement. Thank you all!!! 10/10 always.

My husband and I recently had a wedding in which we hired Johnson's to provide us with corsages, boutonnieres, bridal bouquet/toss bouquet, and bridesmaids' bouquets. Not only did the flower arrangements come out beautifully, they were affordable/reasonable for what we received. Marta was excellent in helping us plan out the arrangements we wanted. We relied a lot on her expertise since I really didn't know what my options were or what kinds of arrangements we wanted. We definitely would recommend for all brides in the DC area looking for beautiful, affordable arrangements. We couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out.

Don't buy your Christmas tree here! Their trees are 50% more expensive than other places -- because they are all supposed to be great trees. I decided to pony up the extra cash as I like to keep the Christmas tree for awhile after Christmas and wanted a good healthy one. But what I got was a ratty, big-gapped tree with a crooked trunk that keeps collapsing no matter how I set it up. Unbelievable. Do yourselves a favor -- trees are trees -- go to Home Depot and cull thru their selection -- you'll find some better trees for way less cash!
