I refer to Countryside Nursery as the "Disney Land of nurseries." I actually drive past at leat three different nurseries to get to this one. Don't let the front fool you, it stretches out forever in the back. If there is any type of plant to be found, it will be here. I also enjoy looking at the various garden accessories in the indoor shop. I will say that it can be a bit more expensive on certain plants. But, I guess that's what one might expect from "Disney Land."

Carleen Made all my Bouquets, Boutonniere's and Corsage's for My Wedding! Everything turned out beautiful!. My consultation with Carleen was almost two hours! she made sure every detail was what I was looking for and was executed and everything was delivered on time .I Needed flowers dyed a specific color and everything looked gorgeous! she always checked in to make sure I was happy with the ideas and i trusted her judgement completely! Countryside has pretty plants and fall decor, but the jasmine plants I bought turned out to be infested with scale. It should have tipped me off when bees were hovering near the plants. I even asked an employee there why there were bees, and he just responded that Well, we're in a greenhouse, there are bees. I thought the bees were attracted to the flowers, but after some internet research, I found out that they were attracted to the sticky residue from the scale bugs. Anyway, I have a big clean up job now, and I hope they haven't infested my other plants. Next time, I'll be more careful about inspecting for bugs.

I had a wonderful experiences there before and yes they have a great selection. I had called them to ask to be called when certain trees would be in stock. When I told them the tree I was looking for I was grilled as to why I wanted that tree and then given their unsolicited negative opinions of the tree. I was taken back and said ok but will you call me once they are in stock. The person on the other end sighed and curtly took my name and number. I had requested the same tree last year with no issues. I thought I really liked this place but if this is the customer service, I don’t think I will be purchasing there again sadly.

Omg is this place amazing! We met with Carleen about 2 months before our wedding and was she a pleasure to work with! When my husband and I first met with her, I didn't really know what I wanted, and she walked me every step of the way. Given that our wedding was at The Gardens of Woodstock, she knew the venue well and knew to ask the right questions. When I told her our wedding colors, her suggestion of burgundy gladiola with gold rocks in a cylinder vase was top notch. In addition, I showed her a picture of a bouquet I was looking for, and they basically replicated it! The day of our wedding, I was blown away. Countryside made our tent look magnificent! I could not have picked a better place and am beyond grateful for Carleen and her team. Also a big shoutout to Emily! She worked with me when Carleen was out and the service was just great. The best perk? They are so affordable, yet you get great quality! This is definitely the #1 floral vendor to choose from - you will not be disappointed!

Very dissatisfied had an argument over rolls of sod which are first come first serve which I was there first. The lady that works for Countryside came to approach me and said that I caused a problem talk to me like I was a two-year-old in front of her employees. We will not be shopping there for our Nursery Goods anymore we were going to Whispering Hills

Countryside got me out of a jam when an online ordering service cancelled the flower order for my mother in law's funeral less than an hour before the service. The staff here was so helpful and quickly got together an arrangement to bring to the funeral. Catherine was amazing and the customer service here really impressed me!!

Call it like I see it

Wonderful staff. They made the most beautiful bouquet for my daughters wedding. We were so impressed. They worked within her budget and were able to give her every flower she wanted in her bouquet. Which was not the case when meeting with other floral vendors in the area.

My bf order me some roses from them with a box of candy. When i found out he spent 154 on some roses that look like they came from walmart. What are you guys charging for?? It about 11 roses it more leaves than roses this has got to be a joke. I am so mad for him he said they looked bigger on the website. I looked and couldn't even find what he order. Maybe some people spend large amount for nothing who knows.

Really the prices are rediculous, then raised closer to the end of the year, to make it seem you are getting a $10 discount. What hanging planters are $35 $40 come on now. Mark them down by $10. They are still the market price of $25. Really?%#%^

I was excited to pick out some new flowers here. When I arrived a lady came out and said we are closed. I was confused and said online said closing hours were 6pm and I noticed several customers shopping around outside. She said yes well New summer hours we close at 5. She then pulled out a closed sign. Unfortunately that was my first and last time going there.

Great plants, very healthy, very knowledgeable staff, prices are quite an amount above Menards, but cannot find these plants at Menards. We shop more at Menards because we're cheap, but we come to Countryside for their knowledgeable staff and for specific plants to fill specific spots: that dry, hot, spot where plants keep getting burnt out - Countryside can recommend a number of their plants in the color and size and bloom season you're wanting for that spot, and you get the choice.

*Update/Response: I did find it at the flower shop off 31 with the hugs Indian statue for $5.00 and gave it to me for $2.50! I wouldn't come there again if you gave it to me for free.* $8.61 for ONE bale of straw! This place is so expensive I cannot believe people waste their money here! Crazy.

Countryside did a wonderful job making our wedding in McHenry, IL beautiful. Jennifer Hunt was our contact person, and was so professional. I was planning my own out-of-state wedding while in nursing school, and she understood how busy I was. She reached out to family members that live in the area to present flower arrangement option. We ended up renting their black, wrought iron altar, with floral décor, for the ceremony. Countryside took care of setup, breakdown, and working with the venue on delivery and cleanup. Jennifer hand-delivered our bouquets and boutonnieres to the hotel during hair and makeup madness. I was very impressed with their service.

Ordered 2 arrangements for a wake/ funeral. Extremely disappointed for several reasons: 1. The cards were switched even though I was very specific over the phone about which card belonged to which arrangement 2. There were no ribbons not even white even though it was very clear they were to be delivered for a viewing and funeral 3. After spending $250 (not including tax) on a cross arrangement it’s very small for the price and honestly I am not impressed by its quality compared to all the other arrangements. 4. Customer service was not helpful. After calling up and being told not even a ribbon could be sent and the cards were switched because there were a lot of orders (that’s not an excuse especially after spending $350 pre tax on 2 arrangements) and that the manager would not be on until Monday and nothing could be done (by Monday it’s already the funeral so by then it’s obviously way too late). Took not only the funeral director calling but also my husband calling for them to even offer to at least send ribbons the following day. For the price and customer service I would not recommend their arrangements for a wake/ funeral. Extremely disappointed! It’s bad enough they made a mistake on the cards and did not provide any ribbons but trying to justify the price point with such a disappointing arrangements to your in-laws that you helped order for during a wake btw was just the icing on the proverbial cake

I have bought my Veggies from them 3 years in a row and I love their plants. However I have an aphid outbreak and in desperate need of ladybugs and they don’t have them??? You have praying mantis eggs, but not ladybugs? So praying mantis are too large to prey on small garden pests where ladybugs are great for that. I talked to someone on the phone today and they where kinda of crabby and didn’t seem to express my concerns to her manager/buyer. It’s a shame since I spend much money here, I may have to find another center to buy my plants in the future? Their forcing me to buy online.

The staff is very knowledgeable and always looking to help you find exactly what you want. They will even help you plan out an area of your yard so you have constant cover year round. The one downside is it can be one of the more expensive places to shop. Maybe if they had more coupons or ran more specials I could go with a 5 star rating

Pretty disappointed in an arrangement I ordered online from this shop. I paid over $160 and it looks nothing like the picture. One flower out of many is the same as the picture. I upgraded to deluxe and it looks like it has the standard amount of flowers. They have a disclaimer that states they "occasionally" have to make substitutions, they even called me to tell me they didn't have a minor part. They didn't say they didn't have a majority of the arrangement. In fact, they told me the rest would be the same as the picture. Avoid the online arrangements at this store.

Countryside florist was incharge of our bouquets for our wedding. They were gorgeous. When I met with a florist in person I had no idea what I wanted. She grabbed a bunch of samples and was showing pictures, and came up with a beautiful arrangement of flowers for an awesome price!! They also delivered them right on time and they looked exactly how she described they would. They also came with perfect sized vases so we could set up all of the flowers on the head table. I was very happy with them!

I've liked this place for 30+ years... good selection, friendly staff, and it's a pleasant way to kill a few hours, looking at their stock, getting ideas for home. They have good quality things for your yard and garden, and offer limited warranties on plants. Sometimes I wish it was a little less expensive, but hey... that's true everywhere
