I was looking for a florist for my wedding reception and realized, I don't know anyone in the floral industry! Naturally, I came up with a Top 3 based on Yelp reviews, a method that's worked so many times before. I added Watanabe as the 4th, because I've always been curious and I drive by on the daily commute. Had I only visited Watanabe, I might have been more impressed. Watanabe Floral had an okay selection of flowers, but was missing specific items we were looking for (for bouquets, table decorations, and leis). This wouldn't have been an issue, except another one of the florists I visited (and 1/5 the size) had every flower. Watanabe was generally priced higher than the other florists too with similar quality, though I didn't inquire about bulk discounts (if there were any). The customer service was okay, given that I walked in without an appointment. However, again comparing to other shops, someone was always available regardless of how busy they were - if for even 5 minutes. In all honesty, I never gave Watanabe a shot at leis though, since I already have (what I consider) the best lei shop. A plus was that they had more parking than any of the other florists, and convenient operating hours. In the end, I decided not to order from Watanabe though, despite the positive reviews. For any other function I might have, but needed to feel I was making the right decision for a once in a lifetime occasion - something other florists were able to provide.

Very cheap and affordable for quality products. The shop is pretty small. Don't expect to get in any orders for prom the day before which is common sense. But if they have a rush, You will not get what you need. If prom is coming, forget about getting a corsage the day or two before prom. Other than that, it seems good.

I wanted carnations but didn't know how to have the florist just make something up for me so I placed an order online and it was delivered within 2 HOURS!!!!! Oh, Watanabe. I don't want to think about how much of my paycheck occasionally disappears into your coffers, but if the smiles generated upon receipt of your bouquets had a price, you have been worth every penny. Online pricing is a little steeper than wandering into their store and purchasing and constructing your own floral arrangements, but their people know their stuff about presentation and shipping quality material, making the additional price worthwhile. They have a reasonable diversity of cut flowers to choose from on site every day (within certain seasonal constraints), and most of their staff is reasonable familiar with the culture associated with particular flowers or arrangements, or has the eye for color or design that is important when crafting a gift or display. The showroom remains clean and calm, even amidst the chaos of holidays, and their staff is friendly and polite. They even have a frequent buyers program with discounts to encourage repeat business.

I moved from Hawaii to New Jersey in 2005. My great friend lost his Mom recently and although, I'm away now, I wanted to pay tribute to a very beautiful, kindhearted woman that is, my friends Mom. Watanabe florist came highly recommended yet, from another friend from Hawaii. The standing spray arrangement called Heavenly Heights looked so much better than the one pictured on this website. My friend took a picture of the one that was delivered and I was impressed and so are the family. My biggest issue here is, the woman that took my order over the phone, omg, so dry. I'm so sorry to say it but, she can use a little bit of that Aloha spirit I've come to love and still miss living here in the East Coast. That's all.

Oh my goodness, so my brother loves plants and I wanted to get him something nice for his 40th birthday. I searched all over for a place to deliver to him as I'm located in NYC while my brother lives in Honolulu. The big flower companies apparently don't deliver to my brother's area, so I decided to use a local florist and my search found Watanabe Floral! Since this birthday is a special one, I decided to get him an orchid. The example on the website was gorgeous but what was delivered to him was even better! Guess how many flowers were on the orchid? THERE WERE SEVENTEEN BLOOMING FLOWERS ON THIS ORCHID!!! Possibly even more, as I was counting them from the picture my brother took of it! Far exceeded expectations. This orchid is so beautiful. Great experience. I paid extra for next day delivery. My mom got it about lunchtime. She loved it. I thought the animation would be bigger, because I was hoping to make my mom roll her eyes. It was about the size of a pie with the stems behind it. My mom thought it was just right. I'll try the the other animations for Mother's Day.

The website was easy to navigate. The only problem I had was that (it was my fault, but maybe it will help somebody else) before submitting for payment you have a chance to review your purchase. After I inputted my payment info I didn't realize that it went straight through, other sites let you know that when you hit submit your order will process immediately. But I am happy that I was able to order on line because we are coming in from the neighbor island for an event.

A few days after receiving a beautiful tropical arrangement from Watanabe Floral, the arrangement quickly started to die. I decided to write the company under their guest service tab, located on the website that evening to inquire if I was taking proper care of the plant. The next morning, I received a phone call from them explaining to me that I was doing everything correctly, but they insisted on delivering a new arrangement to me free of charge. The arrangement was delivered to me about 2 hours later, along with a follow up call to be sure I was satisfied. When I know exactly what I need, I order through this Waipahu location and always get the best customer service. I believe she’s the manager at that location, but goes above and beyond to get what I’m asking for. And I also find that I don’t get lost in the hustle and bustle of the town location. The other workers there are also very friendly and always ask if I need assistance. But two thumbs up to the manager of this location!
