My husband and I decided to use Petals for our wedding this year and I can't stress enough to not use this business for your wedding let alone any event. My first initial meeting was with the owner of this business in July of 2012. At our meeting I gave her an idea of what I wanted and a round about budget and she made me feel confident she would do the job effectively. After she emailed me the agreement that I approved, she then mailed me another copy to sign. BEWARE,there were parts added to the contract in the final version that I did not see. The last week before my wedding she emailed me saying I needed to either pay a pick up fee for the rental trees or I needed to transport them the night of our wedding back to her because although her team was coming the next day to pick everything else up, the trees needed to be out sooner per the venue. I of course agreed to pay an additional fee to have them picked up along with paying her for 2 extra candles on every table for the centerpieces. The day of my wedding came and of course I was so consumed I did not realize until later that evening that each table was missing the 2 extra candles. Six days after my wedding I send her an email Thanking her for her business and mentioning the fact that I noticed the extra candles were missing. Her response was as follows "we sent the candles along, not sure why they didn't make it to your tables?" There was absolutely no apology or reimbursement discussion at all. I let it go thinking, I didn't want to make it a big deal and that this woman clearly does not care about customer service after you have paid your final bill. Lets now fast forward a month after our wedding, I get a call from her asking if I knew where 15 large glass vases were from our centerpieces. Of course the night of my wedding was a blur however in the emailed agreement she put "All rental items will be picked up the day following the event". So, I tell her that her team was supposed to pick them up from the venue and she then argues with me saying "it's the brides responsibility to bring back the large glass vases within 10 days of the wedding". This was the part this woman tried to sneak in on the different copy of the agreement. On top of that, I paid 65$ per vase to rent and she then tells me she is sending me an invoice for 15 missing vases all of which cost 18$ each! When we booked her business, i asked her if it was more cost effective to rent or buy the vases and she told me to rent.
In summary, I had an amazing wedding but dealing with someone like this makes me wish I never put money in their pocket. Please support another small business that deserves to stay open in this economy.
