Tracy's arrangement was a phenomenal work of art that could not be recreated anywhere else. Even though the occasion was tragic and I was not thinking clearly, she had patiently and gently guided me through the dozens of options, as I had been calling from out of state. Her work was breathtakingly creative and clearly so much more affordable than all the online companies. More importantly, her empathy and confidence in her company's wherewithal to provide a standout service were a reassuring blessing during a difficult time.

HORRIBLE, doesn't even deserve 1 star. Went there for flowers for my grandmother's funeral the day after she passed. Dealt with the owner. RUDE and arrogant!!!! Never said I am sorry for your loss. The minute we walked in he acted like our visit was inconveniencing him and basically the day of the funeral and wake seemed to be an inconvenience, a Monday. She passed on a Thursday late afternoon. He just gave us bad attitude and comments one after another. 5 family members walked in and all of us had the same feelings about the interaction. I walked right out, called another florist, Dillon Chapin and instantly the 1st thing out of their mouths was I am sorry for your loss . Dillon Chapin was incredible, empathetic, kind, understanding and easy to work with. Will never go back to HOF and neither will anyone else in my family. In 2 to 3 minutes they just lost a ton of business.

Best flower shop in CT. I have tried other shops and nothing compares to house of flora. They always have a special for roses I think they are still 9.99 for a dozen if you pay cash and you go in person. I am planning a wedding and they have taken the time with us on every step. They even helped us with the wedding favors. That's how much they care for their customers. The staff here has been amazing and can't thank them enough. I don't leave much reviews but they really deserve this. I guarantee you try this place once and you won't go anywhere else.

These people are wonderful. They did a great job and were very reasonable. From helping pick out the display to making the delivery in the morning (of the day ordered). I will use them for everything. Lets not forget about the "O how wonderful and how Beautiful" everyone in her office said they were. Lindsay was the best. THANK YOU 2/14/2013 Again RICH out did himself. Ordered last minute (3pm day before Valentines' Day). The flowers were waiting for her at the front desk when she arrived at work. This business really understands the customer experience. I bought an arrangement and it wilted pretty quickly. I called them about it and they asked me to stop by. I expected a hassle. They completely surpassed my expectations and hand made another arrangement even more beautiful than the first- no charge.I highly reccomend!

Very rude folks. My family walked in a day after our grandmother passed and as we informed them the wake/funeral would be 5 days from that meeting they began giving us attitude as if we were inconveniencing them. I'm sorry my family member didn't pass on a more convenient day for their business. I left and gave my business elsewhere. Don't use this business.

Being one of the planners for a suicide prevention charity walk in Hartford I decided to purchase a floral arrangement for our registration table. The person I spoke with on the phone was Tracy. Being born as a guy, flowers are not my area of expertise. I instructed Tracy that I would like a bright, colorful, flat arrangement. Tracy was so polite and knowledgeable as she asked me about six questions. When I saw the arrangement two days later I was shocked at how absolutely gorgeous it was. So bright, so colorful and just so fresh. Thinking I had to run to a supermarket to get a balloon but guess what, they sell balloons there too. If you need flowers in the Hartford area (about 1/2 mile from Elmwood) definetly go with House of Flora. We gave the arrangement, at the end of event, to a beautiful mom who just recently lost her son.

I went in to buy 2 Boutonnieres and was wayyyy overcharged when i sent my son to oick them up $24 each thats ridiculous and they werent completely done either. Overall customer service was horrible and the prices are even worse

What a horrible experience! I ordered the day before for a pickup time of 8:30 the next day. I came in at 9:00 to find the order had not been filled and the woman Tracy was unaware of the order. She rudely told me she couldn't read the hand writing on the order form. I was understandably upset. She then went on to say under her breath that I a black young professional was "Hartford trash ". To which I replied that I had actually grown up in West Hartford and she was completely out of line for referring to me in such a manner. She then walked away and ignored me. A gentleman in the back began completing my order with old dying roses. I asked for my money back and was greeted by the owner Richard. He tried to appease me by allowing me into the back refrigerator to pick out the roses I wanted. When I approached him about what was said to me by his daughter Tracy he denied it happened and said his daughter would never say something like that. Never entertaining the truth or offering an apology. I usually do not write reviews this incident was so horrible that I had to take the time to make it known. I have been supporting this business since I was in grade school. From proms to funerals and this will be the last time I give them my money. I suggest you take your money elsewhere as well. No one regardless of race or socio-economic status should be subjected to such behaviors. We all work hard for our money and should support businesses that understand that concept.

Tracey and Stacey are amazing! I called to ask for a quote on 50 roses and Tracey quoted me an exceptional price and told me I could pick them up the next day. I called the next day to schedule pick up and Stacey was very friendly and had my order ready within the hour. 50 red, pink, and white roses awaited me at pickup! Fresh and perfect for the anniversary they were ordered for. They even helped me pick out a balloon! They are prompt, local, and better than placing an order online! These people are extremely rude and racist, they didn't even know i was there and overheard commens about spanish and asian americans. Why have a store on new Britain ave in Harford if you all are so intolerant of the people who live there. The shop is dingy dusty and smells like mold. They make starbucks in Philadelphia look like saints which they dont.
