This Fish Shop corresponds to the category of Seafood market.
Fresh tasting, no-frills seafood at a reasonable price. Seating is limited and a little tight and table service hasn't been the best the couple of times we dined there, so we usually opt to order to go. The Milwaukee Public Market has upstairs and outdoor seating areas which usually aren't as crowded, but we usually take it for a picnic at Lakeshore State Park. They also sell a nice selection of fresh uncooked fish which we have had good experience with as well. It's a good sign when a fish market doesn't smell like fish.
Awesome walleye dinner. Fish must have been caught today it was so fresh!
Excellent food and outdoor bar makes super bloody Mary's.
I was so excited to eat here while visiting Milwaukee. We checked in with the host and we were told it would be 30 minutes for a table but that the bar top was first come first serve. We waited along the fish tanks for something to open up at the bar top. People that got there after us started hoovering over the people still eating at the bar top. They started grabbing single seats as they came available. A spot for two at the end opened up and we made our way over there. My sister turned in our pager and returned back to our seats. We sat there for a few minutes before the server behind the bar told us that we could not sit there because he needed one of our seats. We told that him we were told it was first come first serve but he said that we needed to move because another group that got there after us needed more seats. He was asking for us to leave and the group next to us to shift down to accommodate this group. We told him that we were there first and even sat at these seats first and he still asked us to move. The group next to us even defended us telling him we were there before everyone else. He still said that he didn't have a seat for us, even though we were sitting in two open seats. So we left and went to eat somewhere else.
I love this place. The bar outside always has super fun bartenders who still work hard. The food is fantastic! I would not expect this good of seafood in Milwaukee, I prefer it over the fancier places like Harbor Bay. From the basic fish fry to their lobster it's all quality fish and cooked well. It is often busy so plan ahead but always worth the wait. The lobster is something you or your group needs to get one of, it's the signature dish and does not let down.
St. Paul Fish Co. was such a fun experience! The folks that work there are so enthusiastic about their food and fish and their enthusiasm is totally contagious. The food was excellent and the oysters were so lovely. I hope I have the opportunity to come back to MKE so I can eat there again!
Some of the best seafood in MKE!
Visited just before happy hour with a few girlfriends. Sat outside at the tiki bar. This place was busy for late afternoon! Had a very strong Margarita and my friends had a variety of mixed drinks and champagne selections. We also got a few appetizers to share. The service was great considering how busy they were, everyone checked in on us, even during shift changes. Great place for a quick bite and cocktail. Will have to visit again and have a full meal. I'd recommend!
The first time I went I had crab cake and they were really terrible. They were full of fillers And I make a better one. Tonight I had the lobster dinner and again it was terrible and not very visually appealing after you started eating the lobster which was not cracked in any way. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm but I doubt it. T
Lobster dinner is good but other food item is just OK. Need all the party to show up before they sit us. Fried cod fish is mushy inside. Grill mahimahi don't like it.
Awesome place to experience
Lobster is good. Always busy, waited for an hour for sit.
Tiki Bar!!! Why is Patrick so amazing and handsome?! He's the bomb. Love, the girls trip at the end of the bar!
Surprisingly good dinner in an unexpected location -- Milwaukee's Public Market!
Welcomed by wonderful friendly staff, and had a very cool vibe in to check out while I waited. Very impressed with how quick and how Great the food was!!! Excited to eat there often!!!
Best lobster roll I have ever had
Fun place, light atmosphere, fish (trout) was excellent. The middle of Mequon needed something like this. Ice cream next door was great too.
Food was good. Staff was friendly. Be sure to get their right when they open because it can get busy!
Great oysters , poor boy sandwiches, crab and grilled fish dinners. Always fun , always packed with happy diners. Tasty tasty. Don't miss this place if you are in Millaukee.
Lobster roll was pretty amazing, with plenty of meat and soft-yet-dense brioche . Fries were crisp and hot (wasn't planning to eat many, but plans changed on first bite), and the coleslaw was tasty without being overdressed. I'll have to return for the lobster dinner next time I'm in MKE
This is the best bar in Milwaukee. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but it's the truth. Amazing food, excellent beverages, fantastic service. If you can only go to one place in our beautiful, if occasionally chaotic city, go here. You will leave a better person for the simple experience.
Great fresh seafood with a good price!!! My only complaint is the lobster bisque is not the best.
good. fresh. live tanks. small area to dine in..
Try the Lobster Roll (comes with fries)! Prices are fair and the quality of the food is outstanding. You may have to wait a bit for a counter ordered togo order but it is worth it. You won’t find better in the area!
Food is delicious... Lobster dinner good price! Lobster rolls are 2 die for...nice atmosphere... Will be back!!!!
Love it here. Always a good place to eat.
Alex is the man. He treated us well and walked us through some of the types of oysters. Amazing lobster roll. Ordered a Big Sexy to drink. Thank you Alex. Wife ordered lobster roll and we got oysters. 2 of each kind they had. I got the walleye fish fry. Can't wait to go back.
Freakin delicious! Perfectly tender calamari, generous salmon dinner, the freshest melt in your mouth cevice, and the Bloody Mary oyster shooters are an absolute must!
Great atmosphere! Quite an experience, in the midst of Milwaukee Public Market.
Incredible seafood! It was my first experience when I moved to Milwaukee and I was blown away by how good (and affordable) the food is. Seating is scarce just because it is located in the coveted marketplace but the food is well worth any wait you could possibly have!
The owner extremely rude to the employees and his wife. He could take some basic customer service classes.
Good lobster tails for 5 bucks
Omg this was way above my expectation.... food was out of this world. Amazing blue point oyster, omg lobster rollllll
Tikki bar outside is the best bar in town. Patrick and staff make you feel right at home any time of season. Seafood is killer.
Wow, wow! We were in town for a concert and stopped here before heading home. What a meal! What a team of friendly folks! Reasonable prices all around. Get there early for a table. Fast service, delicious food. Definitely a highlight of our trip. We recommend the clam strips and lobster roll. You won't leave hungry!
Best Oysters in milwaukee. And if you dont like oysters im sure you can find something else here. Everything is extremely fresh. Sometimes takes a while to get a seat but totally worth it!
Love the lobster roll. Good price as well. Seating available in door or outdoor and they validate parking.
I love their lobster roll and their awesome/fun Bloody Mary with a crab claw! I love eating outside - it feels like a tropical vacation when it's warm, or like an igloo when the ice sculpture/bar is up. Very busy, but the bartenders and servers love their job and are fun to talk to. Their salmon crack is seriously addicting. Very fresh seafood.
Lobster roll is realllly good. And fair price. Clam chowder soup is also rich inside.
The only reason we go to milwaukee
Good fish. Best meals. Next time I will take fry fish cod or shrimps
So read several less than favorable reviews but was determined to try a lobster roll. When we walked up to the counter a pleasant gentleman asked if we wanted to sit in or out ( it was just before noon) ,we opted for the bar outside. Bartender was fine. Liquor selection basic. Had the lobster roll, New England clam and fried calamari. All very good. Lobster roll was loaded with meat. Nothing else. Good roll. Calamari crisp and tender. Descent portions. It was a beautiful day and being outside was perfect. Did not snap a picture but the lobster roll looked just as advertised.
Food was great and has never disappointed. It was pretty crowded so there was a slight wait for food but it was worth it. !
Fantastic fun environment!! Also you can walk around the market drinking a beer or glass of wine and shop while you wait to be seated ..Food was really good and cheap prices for what you get.. This is a causal place so just go an enjoy without worrying about what you are wearing or if you got kids with you
Our waitress made the wait worth it. She was absolutely knowledgeable and everything tasted delicious.
Small seating area but great food. Had the shrimp Po boy and it was as good as New Orleans. Shared an order of oysters with a friend and they were also very good, could have done without the water the oysters came in but we managed to find them all. Prices were reasonable.
Every meal I have had here was prepared very well. Fun casual atmosphere.
It is difficult to rate because I didn't end up getting anything. There was a line wrapping around the market. So my rating is just based on what I've seen there and the selection they offer. Which it seems like they have a ton of options and it's all reasonably priced. I will try going there again when it isn't so busy.
Bouillabaisse Was not good. Rubber octopus, over cooked shrimp, and clams that were really inedible. The server said the clams were spawning and that’s why they tasted as they did. Take it off the menu then! To spend that much on a dish that tasted that bad is really a sin. I don’t know if it’s acceptable to eat out of someone’s basket either. I observed this after leaving the restroom next to the kitchen. Yuck.
Fun atmosphere inside the Milwaukee Public Market. Food is very good, despite the long wait times. (Easy enough to grab a glass of wine down the market while you wait.). Tables are vintage diner style that add to the funky, urban vibe. The tiki bar is especially fun in the dead of winter Definitely worth a visit!!
Food was very good. Nice and fresh. The server Patrick was awesome.
We waited a little too long for a table, the two young lady lost us somewhere. We saw people come after us get tables before us. This was not good, also the waitress had to new we never got water at our table. So be it the food was spectacular.
Great place to get your seafood to go. A little pricey, but great service and selection. The cafe has amazing deals on seafood meals.
Amazing tasting food. Got the Lobster Roll and was blown away, typing this makes me want to go back and get another. The clam chowder was less impressive… no discernible pieces of clam or clam flavor, still tasty but didn’t shine like the roll. A friend got the oysters Rockefeller… that also looked great. If you’re in Milwaukee and craving seafood (but not Sushi) go here!
Excellent blackened salmon sandwich. Light and delicious.
All the food was excellent. We had a lobster roo, smelt and gumbo. I would highly recommend st paul fish company.
Don't grab a table, must check in! Usually a wait, food good. Try some of the smaller cafes in the market.
Was there twice in a day and had tuna and lobster. Will have to try their fish fry, as one of the couple who was sitting near me highly recommended to have grouper fish. Will definitely visit if I were in Milwaukee.
Solid place, tried a bunch of the stuff, food was great and the staff is awesome
Excellent steamed live lobster. They also have various fish and clams! They also serve king crab legs! If you want to come here, make sure you come very early because this place gets filled very quickly. Overall, this is an excellent place and very worth it!
Forgettable experience on 6/23/19 at the Mequon location. This was my first visit. The ladies handling table seating were not terribly friendly. The various service staff I observed were very friendly and enthused, but confused about which tables to serve and the types of drinks. Upon hearing our lukewarm review of the food, the server tried to pry better words out of us, instead of saying , "Sorry you were disappointed." My friend said her ceviche was passable. She asked for a roll to go with it and they brought her very dry sliced bread instead, but we ate it because we were hungry. My catfish dinner was ok. The fish itself was bland but moist. The vegetables were cooked to varying degrees of doneness because they were sliced to different thicknesses. The little "baby carrots" that they sell as snackable bites in the grocery stores are REJECTS - most people don't realize this, and they shouldn't be served as part of a "sauteed vegetables" side. The rice had been pressed into some kind of shaped cup and then apparently was allowed to sit in some kind of warmer - all of the rice on the edges was dry and hard. We ordered four fresh oysters on the half shell. They were poorly cleaned as the two that I ate had lots of shell bits that I had to be careful not to consume. We ordered two rounds of drinks, each of us ordering the same thing both times. Apparently the bar has no "menu" for their mixed drinks, as mine tasted totally different from round one (weak) to round two (badly mixed and strong). The decor looks like something out of Hobby Lobby's fish shanty decor section, and the seating was about as uncomfortable as it could be. The acoustics are terrible. If this is what Mequonites think is trendy and tasty, gods help us. I'd eat lunchmeat and Piggly Wiggly potato salad before coming back to St. Paul Fish Company.
Hands down the freshest seafood in Milwaukee with afforable prices. We want to go back just to try more on the menu. The public market can get VERY busy so get there early if you can.
Long missed Lobstah-Roll....it was delicious and the Saturday lunch crowd was packed!!
Really good seafood in the market in downtown Milwaukee. The sitting area is small, we ended up waiting 15 minutes. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Would totally come back.
Good food, friendly service. A bit expensive but the lobster bisque is worth it. The swordfish sandwich is mostly bun and not much fish.
This place is exactly as advertised! Cozy little dining area and u can eat outside pending weather of course. The lobster roll was fresh and plentiful. I wish I’d had room for a $17.95 lobster dinner. I’m from New England and this was great! I’ll definitely go back! The entire market place inside and out is refreshing.
Atmosphere – 3.5 Stars Overall Service – 4.0 Stars Food taste – 5.0 Stars Food presentation – 3.5 Stars Pricing – $$ Reasonably priced Summary – Great seafood market/restaurant and reasonably priced. We ordered lobster roll, clam chowder, lobster bisque, tuna sandwich, king-crab roll and seafood platter. Everything was so fresh and taste so good. And because of that, you should expect some waiting time.
Went to New Mequon location. Lobster roll was outstanding! People say pricey but amount of lobster is amazing. Service was great and love the decor. About 10 more things I want to try.
The food was amazing. They had oysters by the half shell that were well priced and a wide selection of seafood on their regular menu. My friend had the salmon sandwich with grilled salmon and fresh cooked spinach on it; She absolutely loved it and regretted that she had to leave some behind because the sandwich was so big. I had the red grouper fish fry and it was cooked perfectly with a batter that made it light and crispy. The gumbo was not all that spicy, but a bit of Louisiana hot sauce and it was fabulous! Our server was very friendly, helped us by answering all of our questions, and was very timely from start to finish. We can't wait to go back!
The lobster roll sandwich, shrimp tacos and tuna melt are all delicious.
Places like this is what makes Milwaukee beautiful. I MEAN LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT IT! Also, if you like blue point oysters, be sure to check em out on Thursdays for their discount. Great customer service, great food!
Awesome food, great service, the bartender Chris at the tiki bar is super personable and entertaining. A very nice gentleman, it was cold outside and he gave me his sweatshirt. I highly recommend this place. Food and drinks are both amazing!
The outside bars here is my favorite bar around Milwaukee. Strong, tasty, affordable drinks, amazing bartenders and a really fun tiki atmosphere. The food is also good but I'm much less experienced with that.
Incredible place for seafood -- staff is very friendly and accommodating, even for small orders.
The bar outside is the coolest atmosphere with nice people. The bartenders are the guys that you want to be your bartenders and they will give you the true Milwaukee experience. I highly recommend this place anywhere in the area. Alex is the guy to ask for
This place is just the best. Great service from the staff, amazing food from the Patriot oysters, to the fantastic lobster roll with delicious fries, to the grouper sandwich... This place always makes me happy.
Great lobster sandwich busy place friend waited a long time for her order.
Amazing oysters and king crab
No bad.... My family went to lunch time Order seafoods. Price it's ok Service little bit disappointed So many people hanging around here Good looking. Good food My Live lobster order is $16.99 Small one. No meat smells fish.... Fry fish was ok, fry was ok Small place small table. Many customers. No professor service.
I love the oysters here & I always have a great time
The best assortment of fresh fish that Milwaukee has
I love their lobster roll. 2nd time in less than a wk, I've been here. I love seafood and they have everything it seems like. St. Paul was recommended to me and I'm very happy with their items so far.
This seems to be THE tourist destination in Milwaukee, and sadly I left pretty disappointed with my meal. We came on a Sunday night and the wait was over half an hour long but luckily they had a buzzer system, so we walked around the market while waiting for our buzzer to notify us. After we were seated, we ordered the fried cod and shrimp tacos (this was where we made the mistake--should have just gotten the lobster roll). The cod came with fries and some coleslaw. Fish was fried well but so greasy and almost dripping with oil. I barely wanted to eat it and ended up peeling off the fried skin and just ate the fish inside. The fries and slaw were great though. The fried shrimp tacos were pretty big, but the shrimp was soggy and suuuper salty. The tortilla was very soggy as well, so I ended up just eating everything in the taco with a fork. The tacos also came with a bag of chips but we already felt so greased up by the fish that we ended up not opening the bag up.
Waited over a hour for a phoned take out delivery that was promised in 15 min. They forgot to put it in, so I got it for free. I didn’t even eat the food and here’s why.. During my wait I saw a employee give someone the wrong order. Then that customer brings it back to the store 15 mins later. That same employee then gives the SAME ORDER to the correct customer! Disgusting! I then saw an employee reach in the display of food for sale and eat out the bowl with his bare hands!!! He didn’t even care. I’ll never come back to this place on my next visit to MKE.
Absolutely delicious! Limited seating so put in your reservation then stroll around the great shops of the Milwaukee Public Market. Try the Maine Lobster dinner - was in Maine in summer, tasted like being back!
Excellent fish. Schlitz battered cod.mmmmmm
Great food, but it is very tight for seating, had to wait an hour to be seated for lunch with no reservations. Looking forward to seeing their new location opening in Mequon soon.
I love the lobster dinner. However this time we tried a few items. Unfortunately my clutzy self dropped one of our appetizers. This place gave us a replacement! Always a great place to go!!
Well worth our 45 minute wait. Clam chowder and lobster bisque was amazing, best 16.99 lobster dinner around here, my fiance got the king crab dinner and they were delicious. Our waitress did a great job, we will be back time and time again.
This is a well loved casual seafood eatery with one of the happiest little corner bars in the city attached to it. I have yet to try most things on their extensive menu but I do highly recommend the tuna caesar salad as well as their bloody marys which I have pictured below.
Excellent. The food, the service, the atmosphere was all good. Will definitely go back
Good customer service, food was good, but too many people.
The fish market was fine. The Public Market on the weekend is a special kind of hell
Great place. Awesome fresh seafood, friendly service, nice cold beer. There's a palapa/tiki bar, open all year on the sidewalk outside.
Food is great. Service is horrible! Long wait for wait person. 45 minutes to get food. Ugh
Love this place. Fast and delicious service and fresh amazing things to take home!
Best seafood in town in my opinion with a much friendlier atmosphere than another local seafood restaurant (both are great, but the atmosphere is more fun). Great oysters and fresh fish. The tuna caesar salad is AMAZING!!
Always a treat to come here. Oysters are fresh, shucked nicely and the bar guys always know their oysters if you have questions. Also had lobster roll and lobster meat packed from bottom to top of the sandwich, no skimping. Gotta go before dinner time or there will be a wait. Place is great for stop in with friends and family, probably not a huge group as they have small eating area and 4 tops only. It's a louder atmosphere, and pretty casual.
Always attentive and great oysters!
I love seafood and this little joint serves up some wicked seafood options! I had the seafood ceviche, oysters (blue point and something hill), king crab, shark and a lobster Bloody Mary. The food was amazing! Definitely would come back next time I’m in town.
Really good food the staff did a great job of recommending things I would like based off of my preferences. Well priced fish market I’d highly recommend both the restaurant and buying seafood fresh
What a great place to enjoy a meal. Who knew you could have a lobster claw in your bloody mary?
The food was good but the terrible attention did not speak good English and we were treated by a "Latino" who forced us to eat what he wanted because he did not want to change the order and we had to pay it, and the manager did nothing even though We made a complaint, I do not recommend this restaurant and I never come back
The best smoked salmon ever! Lobster roll was excellent!
One and only one in market has fresh seafood. All items in the menu with reasonable price. They are busy at peak hours, services might be lacking. But overall we definitely come back for more seafood.
Great lobster rolls and seafood. Doubles as a market and a restaurant.
Love the food and atmosphere. Definitely your local market go to.
Reasonably priced, great oysters, & seafood entrees & sandwiches in general. Have some items that are a little hard to find in Wisconsin.
Try the lobster roll
I went with some friends tonight and ordered the fish fry. The fish had no flavor and neither did the breading. It was soggy and the fish fell out of the breading. I tried to eat it but couldn't. I notified the server that it was disgusting and she told me she would notify the cooks, but then never followed up. Sad that I had such a horrible experience at a widely popular location. I definitely don't recommend it nor will I be back.
We had so much fun strolling around this place. It was a little crowded but, the atmosphere and many food choices was worth dealing with the crowd. Parking was a little tricky as some places were already full. Be prepared to walk or pay a hefty fee for closer parking. Overall, enjoyed the time and we will return.
Normally the food here is great. Yesterday we came to eat and I had the clam chowder which was very watered down, with barely and clams. When we left we walked by the lobster tank there 2 dead lobsters in the tank already upside down! This is DISGUSTING! Extremely toxic and an easy way to get food poisoning. I am very disappointed.
Loved coming here for my oyster fix until one day the oyster shucker shucking the oysters smelled the rag he was using and decided after his smell check that he should continue. Also, the rag looked disgusting. I really wish this wasn't the case, but am really turned off by that experience.
Exceptional,,,,,,,BEST CHILEAN SEA BASS......PERIODT......NOT PERIOD BUT PERIODT........THE END......
Take out Cod was really greasy--looking and tasting. None of the four of us cold even tolerate more than a bite. Ended up in the trash. Never again.
Excellent fresh fish meals right from it's fish market counter. I had the walleye dinner with a phenomenal tasting vegetable medley. My wife had the large crab cake. The wait staff was very polite, friendly and efficient.
Delicious seafood, friendly host, and quick service! Got the lobster roll, and it was definitely worth my fill. Fries were crunchy, coleslaw was decent, but the lobster roll definitely made me bump it up to 5 stars.
Great fish market with a great counter for sucking down some oysters and enjoying some great sea food dishes. Favorites are lobster roll, calamari steak, steamed manila clams, and fried perch dinner, but really anything in the menu is good. The Tiki bar outdoors is great fun, have always run into fun people there.
*GREAT* food. Get the calamari steak! You won't find it at many places and St Paul does it right. The lobster bloody mary is also fantastic. Really everything is good. Would go here daily if it was easier to park in downtown.
Incredible food. Decent prices. the servers will however require a couple to sit at a two seat table despite there being others open. Some take no nonsense and will rudely argue with customers, this was not my experience but I witnessed it firsthand
I can't get enough of this place! It's one of my favorite places to go and get some delicious seafood. I love oysters on the half shell and whenever my mom comes to town this is one of the first places we go. You can't go wrong with their lobster dinner it's absolutely amazing, and all of the beautiful fish that they offer it's amazing! The lobster roll and tuna melt are some of our favorites!!! And did I mention the amazing Bloody Mary's OMG superb! I definitely suggest getting the one with the lobster claw and the candied Salmon, it's so mouthwatering and delicious you can't go wrong. The only thing I can find wrong is that they don't have more restaurants around town. Although I heard that they might be opening a second store!?!?!?
A fantastic fish market. If you can go go you'll find something.
Scallops are definitely divine with the lightly charred rice and vegetables. Everything here is good, crab, shark bites, fried clams, everything!
Awesome fresh seafood inside the Milwaukee Public market. Great lobster roll!
Very interesting with all the different places to eat. I will be back soon when it's not so crowded so I can see everything. The lobster roll was fantastic and I will be back for another one soon.
Best seafood in Milwaukee hands down. Where else can you get a grouper sandwich or dinner? Kudos to the friendly and helpful staff. Lots more to savor in the Milwaukee Market, including baklava.
this is hands down the best fisfry I ve had around Milwaukee area...the lobster roll had love it at my first bite. the perch, walley and grouper are beyond magical...go eat there
Great food and atmosphere
The hype behind this place was too big. Overall, we had good sea food, but nothing unique.
It's really a neat place to check out! The food is really good very friendly staff clean place
Fantastic fish selection... Just wish they knew how to cook a lobster... Ours was super rubbery, like eating big rubberbands and they denied it all... My girlfriend lived on the east coast for over a decade eating lobster multiple times a month, she knows what a properly cooked lobster should tasted like, flavor and consistency... They did offer a free bowl of soup, but if I am paying those prices for a lobster, I expect them to be cooked correctly, and them to own up to it when they don't
2nd time having food here. The 1st visit was a dine in, which was good, except the waiter was a bit rude and ignorant. This time I called ahead to order 3 orders of lobster rolls for pick up and they said it would be a 30 minute wait. When I went in to pick up my order, the person at the counter said they could not find my order in their computer. I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for my order. I opened the boxes right away in my car and everything was put together and the sauce was spilling so the fries got soggy. The amount of fries this time was half of the amount from last time when I dine in. Overall, good food but poor packaging and the staff is forgetful. Very disappointed this time and would recommend to dine in rather than take out.
The crab legs were awesome! Good slaw and fries too.
Great bar outside for a drink
I had a big craving for catfish, and St. Paul fish company was the place to go. Just what I wanted and expected! Love this place. Service was also excellent.
How do you not have ranch dressing. Pretty simple item that every restaurant has ever had.
My absolute favorite place for fresh, reasonably priced sea food on milwauke... like the best!!
Great menu for seafood lovers. Rotating oyster selection. Treat yourself and sit outside at the faux beach bar. If you don't turn around, you'll swear you're on the ocean. Patrick is an outstanding bartender
Five stars rating for their lobster roll and clam chowder! Gets me coming back everytime I'm in Milwaukee.
Fresh oysters at the oyster bar.
It's affordable seafood. Clam chowder was kinda too thin. Other than that it was good.
The fish is fresh and delicious. My favorite is a oyster po'boy! Blood Mary's are delicious too!
The lobster roll was good, but the fries and slaw need work. Not terrible, but not good.... very long wait so bee ready to explore three market for at least 45 min.
My daughter and I made a special visit to introduce my granddaughter to a family favorite. The fun market atmosphere and snug seating never fails to provide a great Milwaukee experience. I personally liked the divider wall that was added to shield seating from the opening and closing of doors and from the main foot traffic. The service was exceptional; everyone was accommodating and so helpful in situating us with our toddler. The food was always was fresh and flavorful. We shared oysters and each had lobster rolls for our meals. Of course we couldn't pass up Bloody Mary's! The beverages complete with chasers topped off a fantastic Saturday lunch. Always reccomend to friends and visitors.
Greatest place in the city for seafood. Hand down great food great people great service!!!!
The location is prime but the food is NOT! Fried, The oysters were not fresh. The fish fry smelled and not crisp! Wouldn't go back!!
This is a review of the Milwaukee Public Market and Saint Paul Fish Company. What an amazing place. I have visited other markets squares in the USA and they do not live up to this space. The shops offer a variety from desserts and meats to seafood, oils and so much more. What stood out to me were the prices. Very reasonable. Every shop was affordable. It was safe, police patrolling, it was fun with the so many options in a the perfect sized space. Parking in the large lot next to the door is free for the first hour. The subsequent hours are only a couple bucks. Again no price gouging. As for the Saint Paul Fish Company... WOW. The oyster bar is fantastic. Low prices and great quality. You watch them open the fresh oysters for your order. The restaurant can be busy, so prepare to wait 30 thirty minutes as they do no take reservations, but the food comes out of the kitchen fast. The lobster roll for $15 is a must. The fries are great too. The Deep fried shrimp were perfect. I want more as I write this. Service was top notch and the atmosphere is fun. Bathrooms are near and clean. Overall this is a great experience with awesome food as a bonus. The next time I am in Milwaukee this will be the only place I go to eat. Highly recommend.
Nice selection, wonderful staff. Food was great
Can you say FRESH? I’ve never been disappointed at St Paul Fish Co. best New England chowder this side of Boston. Halibut with the BerBlanc sauce and veggies is TDF! When in Milwaukee this should always be a stop for seafood! Lake perch and Bluegill is always yummy yummy too!
Great food, but it’s a very crowded place to eat- very busy. And they run out of items quite a bit. There’s always a wait time to get food; wether its dining in or taking out. Go earlier during the day so it’s not as busy. After 5pm, its just a mad town.
Opening night in Mequon. Service was a little slow but totally expected. Food was great!
Food was good. The waitress was mediocre and the owner was very rude. Smoked cigarettes while behind the bar and said he wouldn’t get napkins or silverware for us. Watched him fondle the young waitress and that grossed me out. Then watched him berate a woman because she didn’t give an acceptable tip to him. I would never return to this place because of the owner.
We had dinner At St Paul's last week on July 24th, 2019, and our credit card info was stolen and used 3 hours later at a Shell gas station in Chicago ( a credit card we rarely ever use) and we reported the theft to the restaurant as an FYI. I realize they cannot control every employee's action, but not to respond to our notification was more alarming than the theft of our info. Apparently they just don't care, I would only pay with cash there, although I won't go back.
The best lobster roll ever with friendly and helpful staff.
This was the most incredible lobster roll I have ever tasted in my entire life( 2 weeks later we went to Maine for lobster fest, this lobster roll at St Paul's was are comparison and Maine couldn't come close) the lobster was cold (I was a little worried) but the server reassured me that I will be okay.
I come here every time I am in Milwaukee! Really good seafood. There are nightly food deals. There is limited seating so if you don't get there early there is normally a wait
Well priced and delicious seafood. Ate the lobster roll. Buttered grilled roll with cold lobster and the right amount of mayo. Served with crispy fries and cole slaw. Highly recommend.
Had the lobster roll a while back and I must say a bit disappointed. It was not at all what I thought a lobster roll should’ve been. I’ve seen menu pics of the lobster rolls in Maine, NYC, etc.. but this one I had, IMO, didn’t live up to that. My expectations were dashed and my pocketbook astounded for what I received, which was nothing more, which looked like to me, tuna salad in a hoagie. Large chunks of lobster meat was the expectation. I guess when I travel, I will be on the lookout for what I desire and that is a lobster roll worth my time and money.
