I've visited several times and this my favorite seafood joint in town. My kids like it, as the kids menu has several kid friendly options and the portions are good. Friendly staff. The price is just a bit high on the fish fillets. I paid almost $20 for a 4 or 5 oz Orange Ruffy fillet. It was ok. I got 2 sides (green beans and cucumbers and onions) and some hush puppies (which were great). Our total bill was almost 37 dollars and my 2 kids got water. Like I said, this is one of my favorite places but I will be more careful on what I order next time. It is possible to eat a bit cheaper there and still eat well!

They know seafood and do it right! I always get the same thing: blackened tuna, red beans & rice and collard greens. It's always great. We also get onion rings as a appetizer. You would think they are baked instead of fried because there's no grease! Great service also. In the case up front there's plenty of fresh seafood to take home and cook yourself.

Jewel City Seafood is one of my favorite places to go. As life circumstance would have it I had a daughter that I didn't know I had. When I finally discovered her this was the first place we met. Now every time I go there it seems like we get seated in the same booth. But if you like seafood this place is THE place to go in Huntington. It's one of those authentic non-chain restaurants that you just have to visit.

No flounder..Whitefish/Cod only. Shrimp is good. Crabcakes are okay. The sides are honestly not very good. Onion rings were a bit stale, green beans have tomatoes in them, and the coleslaw is average at best. In a place that has limited seafood possibilities, I would say its equal to Red Lobster...

This was the worst experience I ever had.I had brought my handicapped parents on their 50th anniversary here for lunch. I did ask for a table. We waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes. During this time I observed 2 tables being sat and 6 booths. One that we could have been sat at. I saw two tables waiting for their check for over 30 minutes. They need another waitress or bus boy. I FEEL THAT THEY ARE DISCRIMINATING AGAINST THE HANDICAPPED. The management would not come out to talk to me. BOYCOTT THIS PLACE.

My husband and I both love sea food, so for our anniversary we decided to try this place. I wish we would have went down the street to Red Lobster. The one thing it had going for it was that our waitress was friendly and attentive. We got drink refills regularly. It was quite a wait on our food and when it came neither of us were impressed. Portions are extremely small for the price. The calamari was mostly breading and I got a total of 3 oysters on my plate. The red beans and rice tasted and looked like they literally had just been dumped out of a can. They had no flavor whatsoever aside from the flavor of a canned kidney bean. The potato salad was a little better however about three bites in I found a long dark hair in it. We don't mind paying good money for a good meal, however this is not the place to find that at. Judging from our experience I definitely could not recommend it to anyone else.

I had the calamari and a Maryland crabcake. Everything is always good and super fresh here, but in my opinion the sides are what shine the most. All homemade and things you sometimes don't find around the Tri-State area.

Really a great place to eat. Great food and good atmosphere. Wide selection of fish/seafood along with their raw market items u can take home. Even offers items like Buffalo and gator. Crab cakes and shrimp are my usual- the Cajun crab dip I take home(really, really good!) Good selection and fair prices as well. Definitely recommend.

Best seafood that I have ever had inland! This restaurant is an awesome little hidden gem of Huntington. If you love seafood and can't make it to the beach, this restaurant is the next best thing. Reasonably priced, great customer service, and cozy atmosphere. And it didn't hurt that they had Jimmy Buffet as the dinner music! Highly recommend!

The grease used to fry the seafood. Oysters, shrimp, FF etc is old over used grease and leaves a very bad taste in the food. It's ashame for such a once great restaurant to have lowered it's standards for cooking food. Probably won't go back even though I love raw and fried oysters. Will have to give Red Lobster a try.

Unbeknownst to most jewel city customers are weight person informed us that yesterday they were shut down by the health department due to improper food storage both hot and cold temperatures. Portion sizes also have been reduced not sure what is up with their management.

I was there for the Maryland Crab Cakes because I am from the Baltimore Maryland area. I was born and raised in that area and was looking forward to a Maryland Crab Cake. I ordered Snow crab legs and the crab cakes. The snow crab legs were fine but the crab cakes were not. They had crab meat inside of them but they didn’t have any flavor that would indicate that they were from Maryland. So I have to give them a very negative report on the Crab cakes

Place was very crowded and the seats were very close to each other. Definitely not a hip joint. I was the only person under 30 there other than babies. Got the blackened shrimp poboy it was very good along with the husspuppies and fries. Except to pay at least $10 for a meal. My server was very nice, but it was slow, mainly because of how packed it was. May go again when I have money.

I've been to his place multiple times. And each time it was a disappointment. The review is not very accurate. Had a soup that came out cold. Reported it to the waiter. He puts it in the microwave. I know because the plastic bowl melted and the crackers I had placed on top was in the same place before he took it. Had the black mussels, the way it was cooked the mussel was chewy. The oyster was not good either.

The food is excellent. The staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean. In my opinion it's the best seafood place I've been to in WV. They have a large variety of different kinds of seafood to offer not just fish, shrimp and lobster. The sides are excellent and not just salad and potatoes.

Well of course I tried seafood in a different area and let me say......it was horrible. For $29.99 you can get what this place calls a LOW COUNTRY boil. It's horrible, I mean horrible, very horrible. No taste what so ever, if I could have put no stars I would have.

Love the raw oysters. Can't beat the fresh selection! If you want a cheap meal on the go, this is your place. If you want high quality lobster tail, this is always your place. It's laid back, casual dining for sure (paper towel on the table) and I love it. Thankful Huntington has this gem.

Pleasant waitress. Salmon was small but price was high. Beans were horrible served in a styrofoam cup. Paid the same price for the same meal at the local Red Lobster the very next night. Red Lobster was far, far superior. I will not bother returning.

From the delicious hushpuppies you recieve upon sitting down, to the fabulous daily fish offerings, Jewel City will make you forget you are not any where near the water. This place is a staple. Expect to wait during dinner rush but never for very long, and it is worth it.
