You can get good chowder here.

Matt Perry

This is the Mecca of Fishmongers! If you have seen the video FISH you know that The Pike Place Fish Market is world famous for BEING THERE for their customers. This was our first visit and the team made it a most memorable experiance. The whole market itself is amazing but in our humble opinion The Pike Place Fish Market is the crown jewel of your market adventure. The team provides an entertaining and informative excursion into the world of seafood. Feel free to ask questions. Your teammate will make you feel that you are the most important person on the planet...which of course you are. Expect a vast array of fresh world class seafood offerings, happy crowds, and plenty of flying fish. Absolutely awesome.

Autumn Gregory

I love the busy but friendly atmosphere!

Christymarie Jackson

You can't go wrong at Pikes Market. So much to see and do! Beautiful views of the water.

David Prokity

Gabriela Pestana

Beautiful place... Several types of food!! Good to go with family

Natalie Rivera

Love pike place market, it can take up to almost a day of sunshine to get through all of the stores. There's a crepe place inside I would definetly suggest trying.

Yo Kingsberry

They were great with the flying fish and help with buying seafood.

somiddho bosu

Wide choice of fresh fish and veggies. Love the lively vibe of this market.

Mark Verheul

Doesn't get any better than this. When they say fresh wild seafood that's what you get. It's flown in from Alaska that morning first by helicopter direct from the boat then immediately flown in by Alaska Airlines. It hits the Pike Market even before the local grocery stores in Anchorage. WOW

Lawrwnce Nauta

Fun to walk around for a few hours

Kathy Hop

One of the best places for so many items... Amazing restaurants too!!

Mia Monster

Fun but smelly for us who don't like sea food! Haha!

Johanna Conner

Interesting place. It was super crowded, noisy, and chaotic but now I can say I've been. It is definitely a unique experience.

Maureen Aguiniga

Loved loved loved the market. Hit it early a.m. or after 6 p.m. to avoid crowds.

rob weakly

A good selection and entertaining guys, just didn't have the fish we were looking for. Their inventory has super high turn over so call ahead of you're a local and looking for something more than an experience.

Robbie Huit

You can find just about everything there. The flower bouquets are beautiful and really inexpensive. We bought hoodies, meat, cheese and spices. Check out Emmit and Watson for fresh delicious oysters!

Christine Murphy

Wow, that's all I can say. I was visiting Seattle and ordered some fish to be shipped to my mother. I ordered two pounds of cod, two pounds of halibut & two pounds of a third, recommended fish. I explained that my mother is a recent widow & needed the fish frozen in individual portions, no skin & no bones. My mother was so excited when it arrived still frozen. Two regular plastic bags hand tied with globs of frozen whatever kind of fish, I am not a fish monger, so I do not know which is cod or halibut or... neither is my mother. The fish stinks bad, bad bad, like really putrid, we have to thaw 6 meals worth for one meal & to top it all off it is full of bones. People that don't live on a coast or that do but have full service markets are not going to be knowledgeable in deboning fish or identifying a piece of white filet. Seriously disappointed. Don't waste your money!

Ryan Muse

Great fish. Fun. Landmark. Good people.

Alex Saldivar

Very cool experience, however I gotta say, very crowded

Lonnie Hyde

Iconic Seattle scene, vibrant crowds, wonderful goods, a must see when your in the area. Watch out for flying salmon!

Dean Buterbaugh

We had so much fun here! The employees obviously have fun at what they do! You can even catch a fish if you dare! LOL! Definitely worth a visit when you're in Seattle.

Tomorrow's Man

Vendors are always incredible, but during the summer prepare for the chaos of tourists wall-to-wall.

Dennis Smith

A Seattle classic! Great shops!

Anaka Beat

Fun place to explore. Pike Place has 6 levels and you can start on any of them and still have more to see. If you're on the 6th floor (the market floor) there's a fish monger area right off of Pine Street where they throw fish to each other. The first Starbucks is right across the street from the flower vendors! It's a great place to just wander around and try new things!

David Yelligadu

Awesome spot to shop fresh seafood and all other goodies from the area. Lots of neat things to check out and try.

Natalie Buhr

Everyone should visit this place at least once and marvel at the beauty of it's goods. Besides having fish of course and watching them toss the fish through the air they also have fresh flowers that are just gorgeous and so many other items for sale. there also is a gentleman that sits at a piano at the beginning of the market and plays as you walk along. Fresh produce is bountiful and well priced. I would visit here everyday if I could.

Patty Kirby

Perfect stop for everyone, tossing the fish and everything kind of fish you could imagine

Barb Bellan

What a fun place, been there a couple of times. It can get very crowded on the weekends. Would recommend going during the week. Seven vendors. Alot of food and art choices.

Josh Wilmoth

It was our fault that we went on the same weekend as the 50th anniversary of the market as well as hempfest. I will visit again soon at a less busy time! Eager to explore more!

Casey Thompson

Best time I've had with my family in years! It's a great market with a unique feel and lots of variety. It's a landmark if you ask me!

Leah Goldblatt

Possibly my favourite market. I loved the variety of people and goods

Adrian Hayes

One of the coolest places in Seattle. Prices are a bit steep but then again... so are they in the rest of the city, but even if you don't buy anything it is fun just to stroll around and don't miss the fish toss! Or be wary not to get in it's way otherwise you'll end up being knocked down by a flying King Salmon

Every time I go here it's always so crowded and it's kind of a nightmare shuffling your way through the sea of people to get a good look at anything but I'll still visit every time. Every time.

Vibrant market by the sea, full of options for souvenirs, eating and picture opportunities. Save a couple of hours to explore it, worth a visit during your stay in Seattle.

So fun to visit (I go every time I’m in Seattle). There’s the fish market, fresh produce, arts and craft. Like other people noted, prices are not cheap - but it’s prob not cheap to rent at this location either.

Josh Wilmoth

It was our fault that we went on the same weekend as the 50th anniversary of the market as well as hempfest. I will visit again soon at a less busy time! Eager to explore more!

Pretty good place to go and visit when coming Seattle. Price is ok

Alexander Roche

Fun, festive, and fresh fish! Amazing fish. Tried the salmon jerky and was sold as soon as I tasted a sample. Everything looks irresistibly delicious.

Chris Nicoletti

Really cool open air market where they still sling the fish.

Kathy Scott

Love this place everyone should go and spend the day

Christina Franklin

One of my favorite places to visit when I go to Seattle! I love the variety of different vendors, and everyone is so pleasant. I am taking my mom here when we go to Seattle in a few days.

brian thousand

Cool place if you have never been there it's worth the time

Kaitlyn Wright

Wonderful marketplace! Bring your camera!

Brad Wake

If you've seen any travel video that had Seattle in it then this place was definitely featured. The fish is fresh (nothing like a good Seattle salmon) and if you're there at the right time then you'll see them throwing them around. BUT, watch out for the one fish.... (you'll know it when you see it... ;)

Benjamin Bowman

Crowded. Food was ok. Looks like a good place for fresh fish and produce.

Scott Turner

Not a tourist trap. A real market with incredible vendors!

Ido Michael

Really good, get there early as around 4:30 5 there's not a lot left and most of the stands are closing/empty already.

Julie Mounts

I was born and raised here in WA and "The Market" never gets old. Fresh seafood and produce everywhere. Beautiful works of art from talented folks. Great places to eat. The sights, the smells, the people watching, the helpful vendors...love it!

Joanie Ledford

Seen on TV several times, wanted to experience it myself especially throwing of the fish. Prices of produce cheaper in NC even the Washington state cherries

Choupette Mini

This market is vibrant and filled with great energy from variety of shops and people. There are plenty of food choices to choose from and the quality is quite good. We had two meals and coffee here and they were all very good. A fun place to explore.

Ayon W

Loved the location. Don't forget to visit and see the action.

M Steliga

Incredible market with anything and everything you need, plus lots of things you didn’t know you needed. Excellent butcher shop and great produce make this my go to spot for all of my cooking needs. Plus there are many shop for gifts and household items.

Adam Hale

Not nearly as fun as the hype would lead you to believe but perhaps we were just there at a slow time. Lots of fun little shops in the same area, plus the gum wall is right around the corner!

Alex De Leon

Pretty cool place to visit. The amount of different shops, food, people is incredible. I would agree this is a must-visit place for anyone out of town.

Ryan Smith

I had no idea the market was so large. A fun tourist stop with plenty to experience.

Craig Ciancio

We picked up fresh seafood and had lunch, it's a place to see in Seattle

Christa P

Great place to visit. Lots of fresh fish and produce.

Stefan Schwarz

Great market, must see if you are visiting from out of town. Great food to be had while walking around. You can easily eat a meal on the street food to purchase at the market. Lots of musicians, sit down restaurants, crafts and unique items. The market is a must see. Highly recommend.

Rachel Murray

Very very crowded. Food options were limited and long lines. Good for a market, not for a lunch.

Daniel Delgado

If you are in Seattle, Washington this place is a must visit. You can find anything you want when it comes to fruits, coffee, and food. Plenty of shops, stands, and restaurants. The seafood is amazing and you can take it home as they will properly package it for your trip or flight back home. The pictures are good, but do not make any justice to what the naked eye sees. It is a place where you must visit to enjoy, feel the energy, and see the great views. I've never experienced anything like it. It is unique!

Susan Petersen

Love coming to Pike place..an experience

Nick Bell

Fun place. No one was buying the Thousands of lbs of Seafood on ice. Too many people to shop more like Disneyland than a seafood market

Christine Bryant

Fun place to watch the flying fish.

john nolan

Toss them fish... Great place to visit for entertainment and to pick up some fresh fish

David Boe

Iconic Seattle locale. Beloved by locals, adored by tourists, don’t miss this beating heart of the Emerald City.

Heather Mcneish

Exactly what people think of when mentioning Pike Place market. Beautiful seafood of all kinds. Yes, they throw the fish

Stephanie Mora

That chowder really is worth the wait in line!

D Cole

Cannot say enough good things about the crew there! I asked if my girlfriend could catch a fish there then I would propose to her. They let us do that, and she said yes! Truly memorable experience that won’t be forgotten. Bought some oysters there as well and they were HUGE! Going back next year again!

David C

If you are visiting from out of town, this is a must see. Dozens of small booths with a wide variety of offerings. There is always the fish, flowers, fruit and vegetables but also a wonderful selection of jewelry, artwork, leather and blown glass from local artists. Several restaurants are inside and be sure to stop by the book store for a good conversation with the librarian.

Michael Bowman

A Seattle must experience! Get lost in the fun.

F M

What a fun place! Shops, food, coffee! Flowers to buy for my better half and always a friendly and fun atmosphere. Definitely returning soon!

Asa D

Plenty and sights and smells and sounds to take in. It’s a little slower in the morning, good for walking around but things don’t hopping until a little later in the morning. Pretty cool to see all the local booths set up and the beautiful flowers and fresh foods. A must see if you are visiting.

CVT-FNG X

A Seattle staple with unique colors, sounds and smells. Worth checking out and walking about for anyone in seattle. Sure it's clichéd but who cares, its not a traditional tourist trap as you can just explore and grab a quick and cheap meal.

Linda Caballero

We happened to go when the Pike was closed so we didn't get to see the fish flying into someones arms. We did get to see all the venders and enjoyed some good eatting by the fairswheel with co-workers. Got to take pictures with the pack rat. Some day i will returned to see all the excitement.

Tycho Aussie

Pike place market was great to see, especially in the early morning as it comes to life. We had a terrific breakfast there then watched the shops stock their racks with the catch of the day.

Jen Hsu

Friendly staff and great service. Wide selection of fresh and dried fish products. They offers free samples. Dried salmon candy is my favorite.

Ron Willard

Truly a destination for all tourists. Very colorful, great place for people watching, and taking interesting photos.

Sheldonian

There were so many different kinds of sea critters here that you just don't see every day. Ugly, yes, but absolutely awesome. It's a bustling marketplace with all the fish you can ever need being thrown up in the air.

Haris McDonald

Must see part of any Seattle visit ! The eateries are superb. The stalls are quirky and local. Watching the guys prepare 'Fish' as per the book is not to be missed ... It's a must see part of the city

You can wander for hours through all the shops. I especially liked the outside garden (which is down the hall past the flying fish place). Lots of tasty food stalls, samples, and open air produce / fish markets.

Kristy L. Jennings

So much to take in! Local artisans, fresh flowers, vegetables and incredible seafood! Fun place to explore

Scott Biggs

Amazing place to find local and fresh food.

Jefferson Saunders

Can not get any better.

scott massey

Very fun and lots of stuff to do but there’s so many people it’s almost too difficult to do anything.

Shawn Reed

It was a great experience. Go see it for the halibut!

Vivek Srivastav

Place which inspired the Fish! management series of books. There is a lot of energy in the place and a great crowd puller

Greg Roderick

Yes it's a tourist trap, but a tourist trap most cities would be thrilled to have. The surrounding area has restaurants, and merchants that both locals and tourist enjoy. Throw in a little merchant theater at the fish market, and you have something worth going to.

Jasper Graham

Its a wonderful place to take the family. Loved everything. Highly recommend

eduardo chevreuil

Wow this was amazing, it reminds me of Ensenadas fish market in baja, had some great fish tacos, but the best was a shrimp and octopus cocktail my respect for this amazing place.

Ed McCoy

Very crowded, expensive and really commercialized. Its not the same or as fun as it was quite a few years ago.

Joni Zimmerman

A must place to visit and most fun way to buy groceries

May West

This was such a fun visit. The market is huge. There is so much to see here. The guys throwing fish always had a huge crowd.

Mahesh Chittaranjan

Pike Place Market is Seattle's most popular tourist attraction. There's a lot of fish and then lot's more. Fresh flowers, wild honey, fruit & vegetables and restaurants round out what's on offer. The place is crowded and the walkways are fairly narrow so expect to have a lot of patience as you navigate the market.

Kevin Smith

Fun spot. Good market

Ted Goyins

Great tourist spot. Go to see the fish toss at the main entrance under the clock. Other than that.....very inflated prices for tourist. Oh if you are looking for fresh flowers this is the place. Can't be beat!

Phillip Bassett

Must see in Seattle. A ton of great shops and handmade arts and gifts.

Nicole Winkle

Always exciting to go and explore. Even if you've been there a dozen times, there is always something new to see or do.

Monserrat Andujar-Geacoman

Who wouldn’t love to walk around and people watch and look at beautiful fresh flowers and seafood that will take your breath away. The air is crisp ,the choices of restaurants are abundant, take comfortable walking shoes and sunglasses enjoy your day spent at Pike Place market

Witchychic 809

Can say enough about. You'll enjoy yourself that's for sure.

Wendy Hillenmayer

Great place to visit.

Todd Richardson

Had lunch with a friend here just at the bottom of the ramp by the fish market. This Chinese food place has been here forever I can remember! The food was phenomenal had Mongolian beef with the walnut shrimp and the chicken chow mein. Each dish tasted very fresh and authentic. I see why this place has been here since I was a child. And that has been some time back. Place is clean and I would definitely come back again.

Bharat C

Great team work by the fishermen.

Charlie Young

The smell combination is nuanced and showcases

Daniela Jaramillo

Absolutely loved Pike Place! Great things to buy and many vendors have product samples. Would personally recommend going into the spice store and getting a tea sample, especially on a cold day.

Fabio M

Very fun to visit. Lots of interesting shops and great fish. I'd recommend the market grill for a tasty lunch!

E Thomas

A tourist "must-see!" There is also plenty to do for locals. As a local, I like going to get a free sample of tea at Market Spice (and yes, I also buy the orange spice tea!). Also fun to go to the book shops and the best part for me are the views from the observation deck outside of the main street level of the market!

Hugh Jasswhole

This place smells kind of fishy and it sometimes makes you wonder if everything is fresh. Occasionally it smells like low tide in August. Not the most appealing scent when you are buying a salmon or a bag of prawns.

NOV

Cloudy but good entertainment.

Heather McCoy

Pikes place fish market is so much fun! A must watch fish throw and if you’re planning on taking fish back with you from your trip they have great options. We live in CO and decided to check the box that they prepared for us. We stopped by the night before and they prepared everything (salmon, lingcod, and black cod) and put it in a box and even delivered to our hotel. When we arrived home 24 hours later it was still nice and cold. The prices were a little steep but definitely good service and friendly staff!

Scott Jenkins

A huge selection of different jewelry, fruit, fish, paintings. Can be difficult to navigate as there is like 6 floors of shops and restaurants. Near by is a restaurant called the pink door which doesn't have a sign but can be found by their namesake just up the hill and down the alley which has great food and drinks.

Ryan Knox

Fun to watch them throwing the fish and calling out orders!!!

Andreas Aristidou

A nice and cute outdoor fish market. Only 3 stars for me because I didn't see anything special that is over and above any other outdoor fish market. Still though I would say it's up there on the list of to-do things in Seattle.

Joshua Hedani

Whatever happened to the cranky older guy that ran us off from sticking gum on the wall. Anywho love soda shop and fish.

Darlene Beck

Love visiting here!

Sam Morales

Features so much more than just fish. We visited in February a few days after a huge snow storm and the market was vibrant and the food was fresh. They offer some of the most unique produce we have ever sampled including; Persian cucumbers, Moscato grapes, Beefsteak tomatoes, delicious local apples and of course a great seafood selection. The market also offers several excellent eating options and small shops so you can take home that special memory of your time spent in Seattle.

Marty Rhodes

Fun place! Great fish market

Mervat Saleh

Great place to hang out. You can spend 2-3 hours there.

DLR CBR

What a crazy, busy place. Thousands of people and tons of "things" to look at. The flying fish of the market are only that start of wild ride. Flowers, food, art, stories, people, attractions that run over into the surrounding neighborhood. You'll be worn out when you're done but very satisfied you went.

Jody Deal

Man ! This place is something else ! Watching the employees throw the fish at the fish market is hilarious ! Everything was amazing there !

Gaberielle Gonzalez

Love visiting Pike Place. Fun place to shop.

Lana Gornostaeva

My favorite place to visit every time I’m in Seattle. Tasting food, watching flying salmon, smelling flowers, shopping for fun items from all over the world. Such a great vibe!

Andrew Poindexter

Ed McCoy

Very crowded, expensive and really commercialized. Its not the same or as fun as it was quite a few years ago.

Joni Zimmerman

A must place to visit and most fun way to buy groceries

Himamshu Nagaraja

Good place to spend at least couple of hours, good shops. I would suggest people to visit miniature car shop

Patrick Dickinson

Many people here. Tourest center. Starbucks started here.

Matthew Coombs

This place lives up to the hype! I went on a Sunday so it was packed full with people but didn't feel too crowded. There is something for everyone here! Food, flowers, gifts! Some of the highlights for me were Double Dorjee a Tibetan spiritual gift shop, the comic shop, and the local artists area where everything is hand made! Bring your walking shoes and money because you can easily spend all day here! It's a must see when you visit!!

Phillip Bassett

Must see in Seattle. A ton of great shops and handmade arts and gifts.

Catherine Paul

Always one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Washington, and never a disappointing day. Lots of cool vendors, and even better food!

CRIfinder

Best fresh fish an historical place

The atmosphere was high there. The fosh throwing market appeals to many visitors there. It is the only market in Seattle,a nice one

Stephen Franchuk

Fish market was lots of fun! Very entertaining!

Lisi Curley

This is a very weird place. Half of the stores are closed and the locals empty. I guess it would be good for you if you are into old artifacts like long plays, old arcade games and stuff like that. Everything they were selling there looked like old junk that you dont need

Christina Waters

A very unique place to shops and eat at. The BBQ place is amazing. It is not the cleanest place and it is very crowded at times.

Dee R

Everything about this place is wonderful. Period

Kathy Grant

Really groovy place to shop around. Lots of interesting stores; just be prepared to spend some time to be able to see it all

Vanessa Diaz

Great fresh fish. It is a bit pricey, but it's good!!

Radio_X_One

On a good note, its like a flea market, but by the pier. People in different nationalities and from different places in the world are here, selling and informing. I highly recomend this place if your visiting Seattle for the first time.

Harshit Gupta

Lots and lots of shops and restaurants. Definitely worth seeing as it's a unique experience. Very close to the ferris wheel, so why not ! They have amazing fish collections with octopuses, squids to cod and herring.

Andre Hoyt

Fun to watch them fish peddlars.

Kevin The Fantastic!

What a great time visiting Seattle had fun watching them throw the fish had some lunch there that was fantastic went to the original Starbucks yeah this place is touristy I wouldn't go there on a weekend but a Tuesday afternoon was fantastic went to the original Starbucks the fish market and the new Starbucks roastery it was a great day!

Sean Wallace

Amazing experience. The guys that work take pride in what they do. Very friendly, helpful and definitely entertaining. Oh and the Tuna we bought was very fresh. Thanks guys.

Mackenzi Caple-Lotulelei

Pike Place Fish Market has a variety of things to buy for almost everyone's interests. The fish selection is superb and fresh!! I can't wait to go back!!

Rivka Brenna

ALL the seafood you could ask for, but some of the fish hawkers we unnecessarily rude.

Duong Nguyen

A bit touristy but worth visiting place! Various shops and exotic/fun stuff to see. The fish throwing show is hilarious; some people may want to try.

ngan huynh

My absolutely favorite attraction in Seattle. It is a must see! I love everything about this place, from the flower shops, to the fish, to the gum wall. It is lively, fun, and energetic place. I can't wait to go back again.

Jerry Cady

Great place and a must for visitors to Seattle.

Adam Howard

This place is fantastic, but come early in the week of you can, the crowds make it hard to enjoy fully on the weekend. So much to see! Every time I thought I had seen it all we found another level of shops. It is also a really cool place to walk through at night after everything is closed.

Dolly Stewart

Atmosphere is awesome. Everyone smiling. Clean A+

Joshua and Lesly Fox

Unexpectedly enjoyed sightseeing here. There is a great variety of seafood and they can ship it for you if you are flying out of Seattle that day. But seafood isn’t the only thing you’ll find here. There is so much variety, from fruits to flowers and spices. A great treasure in Seattle.

Mark Paulton

Nice place but heaving with people. Too many tourists to really enjoy. They whack up the prices as tourists don't seem to care. Once is enough for us.

Rob Burns

Always fun to visit. Come for the salmon bellies stay for the chowder. Flower and veg vendors offer the best of the Northwest!

chris sternagel

Great place to go plenty of variety a must if your visiting Seattle. Go there every time we're in Seattle.

Sean Westcott

What's not to like. More fun than the space needle and it's free

Peter Jokan

Always good choice to spend few hours around the market. Number one destination in the heart of Seattle. Do not miss it!

Thomas

Fun and unique open air market in the heart of downtown Seattle. While best known for the fish stall right inside the market where you can watch them throw fish, there are plenty of other stalls with local produce, arts & crafts, trinkets and more. I'd recommend bringing your appetite and checking out one of the many food vendors within the market.

Jega Devanesan

Rare exhibition of Alaska giant crab, lobster, jumbo prawns, full salmon fish, variety of shell fish etc.

Cyrus Pace

This is a really cool market and an iconic attraction if you are visiting Seattle. There is so much here to see. I personally would recommend buying peaches from the people who are giving out the samples. Peaches are my favorite peaches in the world and these were some of the best I have ever had, they were so perfectly sweet and juicy. You can also see the people throw the fish which is fun to see. I would really recommend coming here if you are visiting Seattle.

Matt Baker

Best fish. Best fish experience -- staff is wonderful. They make it so fun and informative. Throwing fish and chiming out orders.

Terrance F. Marrow

This is shell super colossal king crab legs.

Ashley DeVore

Fun place to visit and buy some items! Go early and it isn't as crazy busy!

Jennifer Runnels

Had a great time...Loved it.

Kathleen Pletta

A must see for everyone. Free to walk through and take in all the sights & sounds

T M

A really fascinating place old fishing port turned into a indoor mall loved it

Sam Rogers

Not sure it deserves the number 1 spot for things to do in the area, the stalls are costly and seem generic however there are hidden gems. An hour to walk around is plenty to capture the essence but don't feel bad if you miss it either!

Susie-Q Ruiz

Fun place with lots of unique shops.

Dragos Koltzur

Great place! Many options to eat. Close to bubble gum wall

james pulley

So cool. Staff was great and very helpful to ship over night crabs and fish to NC. Great prices.

Used to be my go to place to get seafood growing up. Now it’s just a cheesy tourist trap with extremely over priced seafood. $50lb for smoked salmon. Really?????

Sean Wallace
