Here you will see all the feddbacks of real people who bought the services and products of Matt\'s in the Market (Fish Shop) in Washington area.
Right now the firm has a score of 4.6 over 5 and that score is based on 573 reviews.
As you can read, it reaches an opinions average is nearly the best one, and it is based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Fish Shop corresponds to the category of American restaurant.
I had the shellfish stew and it was some of the best seafood I've had in a long, long, time. Intensely flavorful broth (not tomato based). The other dish at our table was the steak and, again, lots of intense, wonderful flavor. I'll admit that the salads were on the small side for the price, but tasty. For desert we shared a heavenly bread pudding. They use baguette for the bread, it really keeps its integrity despite the soaking. Just excellent. The room is wonderful, with gigantic arched, multi-pane windows overlooking the big neon Pike Place Market sign. What a fantastic way to revisit my home town. I loved it.
Great food and location.
Great view, friendly helpful staff. Shared small plates that were delicious!
Great meal and nice service. Location was amazing as well
Absolute five star whether it be service, food or ambience. One of my best dining experiences in Seattle. Will do it again soon.
It was a great place. The food was excellent but pretty expensive.
Matt’s in the market is the best restaurant in Seattle! The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is very friendly! Robbie the bartender is absolutely amazing! The food is delicious! I would go back over and over again!
I enjoy everything about this place. You have an amazing view of Pikes Place Market and you feel like you're right in it, yet everything about the establishment feels like fine dining. Open concept kitchen, so you can see everything going on and the atmosphere is calm and cool which provides a entertaining contrast to the business happening outside.
One of the greatest places to take out-of-town guests when visiting Seattle. Above Pike Place Market with gorgeous windows that look down toward the bustle of the market. The food is very good. I highly recommend.
Great food and good service
Great staff and most delicious fish stew I've had in years. On top floor of market by elevator in case you get lost!
Seafood stew is great!
A good little shop in pike place market to visit and get some good stuff with friendly staff
This place is so great. The location is unique, the food is fantastic, and the service is wonderful. Great portion sizes, local ingredients and beverages, and it's still small enough to feel intimate. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.
My food was just okay.
Amazing food. Wonderful atmosphere. Lovely staff. Tasty and effective cocktails.
Matt's was recommended to us by a tasting room employee at Columbia Winery. We made a reservation and arrived a little early. After a short wait we were seated at a nice table for two with a great view of the Chef and his Team in the kitchen. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was amazing and the food was fabulous! We will no doubt try Matt's again the next time we are in Seattle!
Had a great lunch, the Fishwitch was delicious even though the bun could have been a little smaller. Service was fast and friendly. Views from the window tables are excellent but make a reservation or get there early to get one as it's pretty small.
This is my go to place when I'm at the Pike place market, they have something for everyone. The staff is awesome the food is fresh and amazing. The bartenders are great. If your in the area I would go
Fabulous. Expensive. Worth it.
I came in around 12:45 on a Tuesday and they were able to squeeze me in to the very last open seat at the bar and I’m SO happy they did. The bar tender, Robbie, was wonderful and helped me decide on a sparkling rosé and their special (watermelon salad with feta and shrimp) and it was absolutely incredible!
I enjoyed my visit, and the ambiance, location and service were fantastic. That said, the menu seems to try a bit much, and the food was very expensive.
Fast, friendly, $17 soup and sandwich. Pork chickpea soup is great! Buffalo pot roast is tender and tasty, big chunks slightly dry. Catfish is juicy, but fried edges are thin, and slightly oversauced (pink tartar sauce).
If you can find this place eat here. The place was packed and yet from the moment we walked in we felt like royalty. Everyone was off the scale friendly and professional, and the food... oh the food is, well what's a stronger word than delicious? It's that. We will be back (and make a reservation).
The King Salmon and seafood stew are perfect done. The artichoke app is simple and delicious.
Matts in the Market is my favorite dinner place in downtown Seattle. It is a great tourist pleaser because there's a view of the Pike Place Market from the windows inside and tons of classic PNW dishes. I highly recommend trying it. Matt's is also pretty reasonable in price for the food you get. The photos here are of some of my favorite dishes. The cheese plate has pretty small sizes, which is typical for Seattle. We enjoyed all three of the rotating cheeses on the night this photo was taken. The Hamachi Ceviche was very refreshing and combined well with the green sauce which was the right amount of tangy. The oysters were very fresh and good. The Seafood Stew is okay, but a little expensive for what you get. The broth was a little weird tasting to me, and there were only about 5 mussels included. I'd get a different dish if you go.
Still one of Seattle's finest restaurants. The octopus is superb and few places cook scallops, salmon and halibut better. Great restaurant.
Very nice place to stop in for brunch. Has a view of the Pike Place market and a pleasant atmosphere with good music and friendly staff. The food is of very good quality with a balanced selection of what you can order. I had the pork belly sandwich with black bean chili soup and it was very tasty and you could tell of the good quality ingredients used. A reservation is highly recommended because of the size of the location and high popularity.
Excellent service, food, and views. $$$$$ Not being a huge fan of seafood, I was not excited about a team-sponsored celebration here. Previous reviews indicated that the restaurant is completely inflexible about their menu items and options; while I didn't test this, the steak was perfectly prepared and the grilled brussel sprouts were superb. Beyond the ability to find a meal I liked, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed some of their appetizers, of special note were the oysters and octopus. Being a smaller seating area, every table has an excellent view. Previous reviews note that seating for happy hour is very difficult, and having seen the total floor space, the limitations to allow standing is completely understandable, as happy go'ers would be standing right on top of diners. Regarding the price, I am very happy that I wasn't picking up the tab. On a side note, you can bring your own wine and just pay a corkage fee. Every staff member we interacted with was delightful and responsive, including a last minute request to celebrate a team members' birthday.
Very grateful they were able to squeeze us in at the last moment. Great location overlooking Pike Place Market. Despite the terrible saxophonist playing down st the entrance to the market, we had a fantastic lunch. My wife raved about her pulled pork sandwich, and my shellfish dish with chopped chorizo was superb. Small joint, so reservations are recommended, but go to there.
Very pleasant atmosphere
Pastrami is really good :)
Found a hair in my food and my scallops were overcooked. Good views though
Love the chip and dip and deviled eggs for appetizers. Main food is great too but for me the biggest attraction is the atmosphere and appetizers. I have taken my wife here several time and we enjoy the service we get. We always make reservations over the weekend as that allows us to not have to wait. I give them A+
I have wanted to try the catfish sandwich at Matt's for a long long time, and I finally got the opportunity today. It somehow exceeded my expectations, but yet there were components of the sandwich that left me disappointed (why iceburg, why). Of the things I did like of the sandwich I found those components to be exemplary, specifically the bread which I felt I could have taken a nap on it was so fluffy, and the catfish which was perfectly breaded and delightful. Definitely looking forward to coming out and checking out more of the menu.
The most insane catfish sandwich I've had. Lunch at this place was delightful. Our server was on point and the soup was amazing.
One of my favorites in the city. Excellent service, selection, food and ambiance.
When visiting Seattle , Matt’s is my “ go to” for lunch down in the Market . Matt’s never disappoints consistently delivers delicious locally made dishes. I sat at the bar and Service was attentive and welcoming despite the busy lunch rush. Make sure to have Robbie make you one of his famous Bloody Marys ..they are stellar!
Great service, and the food was really delicious. Quite loud (if you enjoy a quieter atmosphere)and be prepared for a wait.
Great service by our waiter Matt. My friend randomly gave him a bouquet of flowers fresh from the market after finding out it way his anniversary. As an appetizer we shared the scallop with broccoli entree, which was delicious. As well as their Pasole soup. We also split the pork belly banh mi, which was ok, the meat was to dry for my taste, and the vegetables were not chopped the right way, but it wasn’t bad. I’m just a big banh mi enthusiast, and my expectations are higher when it comes to that. I ordered the fishwich for lunch, which was really good.
This place is great and has really good fish. I was really happy to have stopped here!
Delicious dinner and drinks. Great service
A fun spot in the heart of the Pike Place Market. Good food, service and ambience.
This place is wonderful! The setting is a bit low key and sparse but the views are amazing. We overlooked water and the Public Market. Our meals were great and every single plate I sneaked a peak at looked great. I had a tuna sandwich which was totally different from any other.
Rock solid sandwiches. Nice people
Excellent food! Great service and delightful atmosphere.
Low-key place with great food and relaxed atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and view for dinner. Food was superb! Highly recommend!!!
Matt's was recommended to me while visiting Seattle. I was told that it's in a "tourist trap" area but it is most definitely not that type of restaurant. I was very impressed with the menu. The scallops were possibly the best I've had. Cocktails and mocktails menu was very good. Matt's is also in close proximity to Storyville, amazing coffee.
Super nice lunch, very well prepared and well seasoned dishes. The staff is really knowing and very helpful
Amazing food and great location. Fish sandwich was perfect. great service and fabulous restaurant! Would definitely recommend to everyone!
Horrible meal with no taste. So disappointed. Medicare pastrami sandwich and terrible burnt fish sandwich. What a disappointment.
What an incredible hidden gem in Pike Place! The food is awesome and the atmosphere is top notch. You can see all the food prep going on, and you can tell that they take pride in their work. Come here on your next visit to the market!
Great location, excellent server, wonderful food...really, really slow though.
Great food!
Great food. Great service. Unique menu items. I would recommend reservations but you can always walk around the marketplace while you wait. They text you when your table is ready.
We had a lovely lunch! Service was impeccable! The food, absolutely delicious! Fresh and innovative! Looking out the giant palladium style windows to the Pike Place Market sign was an added bonus!
Great food but a little bit expensive
Limited menu, perfect every time. Food is simple and amazing. Always feels right at home. Staff are attentive and know their stuff
Pricy, but worth every penny for the quality. Ask for recommendations. (Not very Vegan friendly)
Fantastic in every way; location, food, service, atmosphere and so on. Had a large table of 15 (yes we were the loud table, not sorry). Ordered practically everything under the sun, wine and cocktails. They managed us really well and kept the food and drink coming. Scallops, Halibut, Spanish octopus, and heirloom tomato salad were the most liked dishes. We were well taken care of. Food was great, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Dessert were ok, but not terribly memorable. Its such a charming and romantic spot, yet its low key. It's on the pricier side but worth it. Highly recommend making reservations, its popular and hard to just do a walk in and sit immediately.
Outstanding views. Spectacular menu. Killer wine list.
Great food and the grilled octopus is a good start to the meal
Great service friendly staff excellent food thank you
Matt's is a great place to take visiting family or friends. Located in the iconic Pike Place Market, they also serve a delicious and very nicely done menu. Our cocktail, both classics and some Matt's originals, we're also well made. All together, pricey but worth it.
Food was average and over-priced.
The best location ever right over the market. Good was excellent and service outstanding. A special occasion spot worth the price.
What a great place if you are a seafood lover Amazing food Could not fault any off the food Very fresh and very tasty We had the Octopus and Ceviche Also the fish stew
Great food & drinks. Busy lively place but a bit loud.
A bit expensive, we spent ~200$ on this meal (plus one glass of wine). Flavor is pretty good, ingredients taste pretty fresh. Atmosphere and service are also good.
Food was good and so was the service. Disappointing that the hostess was snooty and acted like she was doing us a favor by putting us on the waiting list. Then when our turn was up we saw her treat others the same way. She sat us at the table with no welcoming smile and seemed like she was miserable. Not in a hurry to go back and treated like a problem rather than a customer.
A lively dinner with colleagues at Matt’s tonight. The food here is always great- a struggle as to what to order. The black squid ink pasta special topped the list for me. However, the greasy seasonal halibut and the scallops are favorites. You just can’t go wrong here. To top it all off, the service was outstanding. A must in my Seattle restaurant list
This was an incredible meal. When I read "American restaurant" on Google maps I imagined burgers and fries, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The food here is boldly flavored and excellent quality. I ordered the beef tenderloin which, at $68 for a steak, set my expectations very high. When I tasted it, I couldn't believe what a great deal it was! It far-exceeded my expectations and may be the best steak I have ever had! I don't usually eat dessert, but our waiter described a smores-based dessert by saying it's name three times, each time slower and more dramatic. I ordered it just to see why he was so excited about it. It tasted amazing, and it was not at all what I expected. Instead of campfire-smores flavor, it had a cool, rich cocoa flavor. I can not recommend this place enough. It was a truly memorable meal.
Great place. Missed our reservation (sorry) but decided to come down anyways. Dinner was excellent, service was great.
Best in every way. Food 10/10. Quality 10/10. Atmosphere 10/10. Location 10/10. And above all the people who have worked to make this place a 10/10, are 20/10. Their staff is so friendly and organized. Would love to come here again.
Friendly staff and excellent service! My favorite is the halibut collar.
This is one of my most favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is amazing, service is fantastic and the setting above Pike Place market is incredible.
You can't go wrong ordering anything and probably everything from the menu. I ate here with my family and my mom's friend from high school. This place is great for reuniting with old friends. We ordered beef carpaccio, the brussel sprouts, the grilled salmon, the leg of lamb, mussels and clams, beets with ricotta, and the prosciutto with burrata. I recommend all of it! The salmon was the best salmon I had in Seattle, hands down. I love the open kitchen, the friendly staff, the classy vibe (looked like a lot of business professionals) and views. I look forward to coming here again soon!
Matt was our server and was wonderful! His passion for food and incredible customer service came through and definitely made our experience one to remember. The food was delectable, great wine pairings, had just about everything on the menu!
Never disappointed here. I got the mussels and clams in garlic sauce. So much garlic! It was fantastic. A great place to take friends and family.
Excellent meal. Great service. Good cocktails. A wonderful experience.
Amazing fish sandwiches and beautiful old building. But it’s a little packed in with long waits - though worth it !
The best place to eat at Pike Place Market. Not inexpensive but lunch is still a bargain for what you get. Dinner is fabulous. Super service, excellent wine and food. What more could you want? We recently shared a prosciutto sandwich and gazpacho soup for lunch and came back for dinner. We'd been there previously and knew what to expect. Reservations recommended, but we lucked out without them. The desert pictured impossibly crazy. And superb! As was the recommended Pinot Noir with the king salmon.
The food here is great as is the service. It’s a great higher end casual place but rather expensive and not that interesting or memorable.
Excellent food, top notch staff, in a nice smalll space.
Great variety of seafood and sandwiches for a lunch overlooking the historic entrance to the market. For the truly adventurous, you can follow with the bread pudding or other seasonal dessert.
This was an outstanding dinner. I cannot recommend this place enough. The kitchen executes all courses with out a flaw. I dined out lunch and dinner for 5 days and no other place could come close to the quality of food. Well done Matt's
Great food and the daytime bartender, Robbie, is the man! Highly recommend the deviled eggs and halibut if you're there and it's in season.
This is a gem of Seattle’s Pike Place Market. We were fortunate to have met the chef Matt at the Starbucks Reserve and he invited us to the restaurant. Apart from sending us some special appetizers made specially for us, we ordered the specialty fish that was fresh and incredibly tasty. The cocktails were delicious and hit the spot! Desert was outstanding. This was our favorite restaurant in our entire week’s visit to Seattle. Do not miss it, if you are a visitor.
The menu isn't extensive, but everything on it is quite good. There's a focus on seafood, though there are non-seafood options, including a couple vegan options.
I dined at Matt’s on the Market with a friend for dinner recently and can’t rate this place highly enough. Pricey, but worth every cent. Our dinner was exquisite- so full of flavour and just delightful. My halibut and the chargrilled octopus were simply sensational. The oysters were sublime. Great friendly staff, fabulous atmosphere overlooking the bustling Pike Street market. Well worth a visit!!!
Staff was accommodating. It feels like their food was trying to hard tohave a gourmet taste but feel very short. My coworkers were very pleased with their meals. Quirky feel to the place but it seems in demand but just not warm or welcoming feeling. Had to ask for items I ordered after our table was served. If I was to rate from the reaction of my coworkers 4.5 Star. I'm comfortable with rating a 3 Star.
Excellent! Oysters, Mussels and Dungeness Crab Cesar Salad. Also try the Sangria... Great view of the Pike Market main entrance and the Fish toss. Not to be missed.
I'm sure there are many good spots at the Market to light, but a friend recommended Matt's and we had a great meal. The space isn't real big, but the view from the windows of the market and street below are fun for watching. Although this isn't an elegant dining experience, it is on the moderate to expensive side so be prepared for that. (While we were there a group came in, sat down, looked at the menus, and got up and left in just a few minutes.) My fish was fresh and prepared perfectly--although it was a big portion and I thought I would leave a good bit of it, that didn't happen!
Great food and an awesome view of Pike Place Market!
The food was okay, it was bland in general. Overpriced at $62 for a 6oz piece of salmon. Only 6 entree choices on the menu. Service was great and the view of the market was nice.
Excellent seafood! I found it a bit pricy for lunch, even considering PNW food prices, but overall a great place to eat.
Not as expensive as the other reviews made it out to be. Great atmosphere, great service/bartenders. The famous catfish sandwich is everything it's cracked up to be, but so is everything else on the menu.
We didn't have a reservation and the host was quite snotty, looking at us like we had two heads because we didn't have reservation! My cousin from across the country just plainly stated that when she was looking on-line for a casual place by the Market to meet up with us, he then stated that the atmosphere might be on the casual side but his menu prices were not, essentially inferring that we couldn't afford to dine there! So we went down to the Market Bar and Grill and spent $500 there and had fabulous food and service! The one star is so I could get the review on!
Nice place
Excellent lunch spot.
Decent service. Good food. Limited menu.
Great lunch menu, and fantastic service. A gem in the tourist part of downtown
Great service with menu items created with locally sourced ingredients.
Excellent in all aspects: location, atmosphere, food, service, comfort Matt’s at the Market is phenomenal. Our server was impeccable as was the sommelier. We were seated by the window which offered a nice view of the market facing the Sound. The meal was excellent and delicious. Definitely weighted toward seafood on the menu so be aware of this if you don’t enjoy seafood. The desserts were top! The candy bar was decadent and the bread pudding very rich and delicious. Both are easily shareable in size. A must stop place when in Seattle
5 stars just isn't enough. This was, frankly, one of the best meals I've ever had. Prepare to spend, because it costs a pretty penny, but I felt it was worth it. I ordered the steak, which was perfection, and the house negroni was a unique spin. Truly a great restaurant.
Cozy restaurant!
Service was awesome, the food even better. I had the Seafood stew. It came with tons of clams and mussels, salmon, halibut (I think), plenty of crab and an awesome scallop. The broth was awesome as well. It was a little more pricy than I was expecting, but well worth it.
Great food! Although pricey. Enjoyed meeting several people there at the sit down bar part of the restaurant.
Good food. Expensive.
We had a great lunch! Great view with some great food!
The atmosphere of the place was great and very clean. I really felt I could just sit there and enjoy the space. I ordered the catfish sandwich and I love it. My friend got their special which was a chicken sandwich that was out if this world. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best chicken I've ever tasted. Check the place out!
My wife and I were enamoured with the entire experience at Matt's in the Market. My wife ordered the Seafood Stew and I ordered the Halibut. Both were delicious! There was a complexity in flavors perfectly married. The chef is very talented! The atmosphere is quaint and inviting. The service was very friendly and prompt! We may have to go back before we leave!
This place seems to be all hype. We admittedly came with high expectations after seeing reviews and the menu (and prices). The service was bad from the moment we arrived. Waiter forgot about our very simple order of two bottled ciders and a plate of bread. He wound up comping the bread once it finally arrived, so kudos for that. The steamed mussels and clams appetizer was delicious, as was my girlfriend’s apple salad. But the seared scallops came out cold and vastly underwhelming. Might come back for lunch one day with lower expectations.
Superior. Excellent food, view, service. Menu is small, but everyone in our group raved. Not inexpensive, but a wonderful experience.
Great location, delicious food, friendly staff. Eat here.
Great service, superb octopus the last time we went.
Love this place. Always check out the specials bored. Great food lovely people
Stopped by to sip on a Dark & Stormy. Fair priced given the location, and the ambience is well worth any expense. Our waitress and bartender were very amenable to our congested sitting situation. It wasn't very busy during our time there so it wasn't too much of a hassle, but still a nice sentiment to have the staff break from the norm.
Matt our server was excellent! Steered us in the right choices on the menu. The scallops were delish!
Amazing food and delicious. Great ambience.
*Service was outstanding * Beef quality was so so. (The tenderloin had a grainy texture that I would not expect at the $68 price.) * Salmon quality was amazing given climate change conditions * Roasted beet salad with burrata was the best I have ever had * Great creme brulee, but skip the grainy maple corn doughnut topping * Cocktail menu is geared toward men's whisky drinks. Even the girly "Sarah in a Pink Dress" cocktail was too cognac and bitters heavy to appeal to any girly girl I know. Surprisingly the meat was the worst part of the meal. The roasted beet with burrata salad was the best roasted beet I have ever tasted! I am sure if you have tasted roasted beets, you know they can range from dry and bitter to grainy to flavorless. However, Matt's roasted beet salad flavor but still MOIST! WHO KNEW IT WAS POSSIBLE? The quality of the burrata was beyond expectations. I must have hit it on a good night. The salmon was also the best ever! It was crisp on the outside and perfect pink on the inside. Many chefs can do this, but again, it was the quality of the salmon that shined through. It did not have that "washed out water and bitter flavor" that we can attribute to salmon less than cold climate change. Sadly, the beef tenderloin at $68 was the worst part of the meal. It was cooked perfectly. However, the chef did not account for the fact that the meat was bland and grainy. So when you bit into that 2 inch piece of meat there was no char or sauce to make up for grainy, flavorless, bland middle part of the steak. I was so surprised, I had to laugh. That was probably the worst steak I have had in years at any restaurant. It was not what I was hoping for. But, I had to appreciate the view of the Pike Place Market at sunset. The wait service was outstanding! Wow. The service was thoughtful, unobtrusive and caring. Also, what you see on the online menu is not what you can expect at the restaurant menu. Beware! Given all that and the high price, as a local Seattle resident, I would not go back. I can see the views elsewhere and make a much better steak at home.
This place offers the total dining experience. The entree pairings are perfect. The appetizers are amazing. These meals will have your taste buds jumping in every direction. A great find in the market! Don’t miss out.
Had an awesome experience here! Robbie the bartender was amazing so shout out to him! Food was excellent (we had the fishwich, catfish sandwich, and mussels) . Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the market
GET THE HOMEMADE POTATOE CHIPS FOR SURE!!! The chef is one of the best I've seen.
Outstanding location for delicious american food. don't fret if it's busy, it is worth the wait. really nothing but great experiences here, so i will be back. bring your hunger - portions are filling.
In the heart of Pike Place market, Matt's is quintessential Seattle, a long history of servicing high quality comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere that can make anyone feel at home.
Matt’s checks all the boxes! The location is in the thick of Pike Place market - overlooking the iconic neon signage. Our server was brilliant. Very knowledgeable about all of the dishes and made some good recommendations. The food was the highlight. The octopus to start was cooked perfectly and had a really nice spice to it. The homemade pork burger was really tasty too. Topped off with a wide variety of beers and wines, there was something for everyone.
A little pricey but the food was done well and very fresh.
First please note if you are on a family trip this place is not really children friendly. We had to learn that the hard way. That being said this is a great spot for a intimate meal. Food was delicious and the drinks were on point. The wait staff could have been a little more friendly especially for the prices they charge (except the door host he is really nice) but over all I would come back just for the food.
The guys who throw fish at Pike’s Market recommended Matt’s and I’m glad they did. The experience was amazing! The grilled Spanish octopus was probably my favorite and the seafood stew was tasty and the portion fit the price. Coming from down south I never knew what real fresh seafood was like, but I’m glad I got to taste a bit of Seattle here. I will definitely return on my next visit to the city.
One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Amazing seafood options! Their fishwitch on their lunch menu is always delicious. For dinner you can't go wrong with their seafood stew. If you have kids they do a good grill cheese or simple pasta option.
Great meal and drinks. Awesome people and wonderful ambiance.
Meh. Nothing special. Service was mediocre. SUPER LONG WAIT for our food & the server got our order wrong... Will not come back.
Most amazing Cobb salad I've ever had!
So good. Food was epically delicious
This place is delicious. The chef is so awesome and charismatic. Food was phenomenal.
Love this place. Get a bloody Mary.
Great service and staff!
Very good restaurant. Amazing food and great wine selection. Great service. Everything we tried was 10/10. Highly recommended.
Wow: food/drinks in high-traffic areas is expensive in Seattle! Removed star is about value. But had an amazing charcuterie board, with real charcuterie made in house rather than sliced off regional sausages. Drinks were solid and good. Still, probably won't return for more, as the price was high for what it was.
What a gem! The food was a culinary adventure and such a good blend of flavors. We got there by chance, a little before noon, and got a cozy table overlooking the Pike Place market - perfect for people watching amd soaking in the city. The ham sandwich was absolutely amazing and my husband had a burger. They make a lot of their food in house, and you can tell. Plus, the waitress was so sweet, she really made it a nice dining experience. This is in the top floor of the building, and when we left about 1, there was a big wait for the restaurant. So, I'd recommend going early or making a reservation.
We went without reservations and got sitted at the bar. The service was superb and the views were amazing. The food was very upscale but also satisfying. They have a limited seasonal menu. It's pricey, so it's best to come here for a special occasion. You won't be disappointed.
Reserve a table overlooking the market. The windows are open and you can enjoy the hustle below and see the beautiful flower boxes above. Three of our party enjoyed the fishwich. They all said incredible how the fish is sliced and lightly breaded. I had the Cobb salad which was good but missing the chicken. Kept looking for it but no luck. Ask for it to be tossed!
I had the best time ever here, robbie the bartender is the best in town. The food is incredible everytime and their menu is the perfect NW style kitchen. The seafood is incredible and they make delicious cocktails. Located right in pike place market this is a seattle must
Great food and drinks everytime we go there. The seafood stew is definitely the way to go to get a little of everything.
Very well put together lunch and dinner menu. Lots of eclectic options, as well as what some could consider standard-fare - but with a Northwest flair and twist that will delight. Will be back for dinner after thoroughly enjoying Mussels/Clams and Deviled Eggs at lunch, and the bartender gave us a preview of the menu for later. Impressive and unique would describe this place best.
tldr: the food ranged from excellent to mediocre, the service ranged from mediocre to poor. I would not recommend it unless you're a rich tourist. My girlfriend and I went on Wednesday night with a phoned reservation for 8 pm. We didn't leave until 10:30 because of long gaps between courses, particularly between our two starters (octopus as well as mussels & clams; both delicious) and our entrees (the pork croquettes and the halibut; mediocre and pallid respectively). It was so long that our first server (Sam, personable and professional) moved us to another table so that a second server (Stefan, smiley but sterile) could complete the ticket. It took more than 15 minutes for them to bring the ice cream after we ordered it! We watched as the prep kitchen cleaned their stations while we waited for an already prepared dessert. What should have been a magnificent evening was nothing but an expensive waste. If you're a successful looking late-40's, sure, they seem to like you. As a young looking early-30's, go somewhere else, it's definitely not worth the money.
We came to Matt's for a birthday celebration and enjoyed tasty, creative dishes served in their sun-touched loft above Pike Place market. The staff was lovely and happy to make menu and pairing recommendations. I especially enjoyed watching the dessert section of the open kitchen!
Way expensive, way worth it. We had the mussels, steak, and the seafood stew. The presentation on everything was perfect except for the steak. It was served to us already sliced in some weird abstract pattern, stacked on top of each other on the plate. I wish I had a picture of it but for the price point here, it just doesn't make sense why that was allowed pass the expeditor.
Matt's was recommended to us by a tasting room employee at Columbia Winery. We made a reservation and arrived a little early. After a short wait we were seated at a nice table for two with a great view of the Chef and his Team in the kitchen. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was amazing and the food was fabulous. We will no doubt try Matt's again the next time we are in Seattle.
Worth every penny. The views at sunset were breathtaking. The staff was prompt and sweet. The food was mouth watering. We started with a beef carpaccio, pickled walnuts and crostini. It was decandace on a plate. The pickled walnuts were life changing. For entrees I had the mussels and clams. The broth was a curry base but didn't leave you with an overwhelming spicy taste in your mouth. The mussles and clams were bountiful and fresh. My husband had the scallops. A bit pricey for just three, but the size of the scallops made up for the price.
Fishwich was very tasty and the potato salad hit the spot on a cool day
Great food, great service, great view. Don't miss the house made chips and the hot bacon caramelized onions dip!
Amazing! Amazing! 10/10. Really loved my food and beer. Great service and cool view of icon Pike Place
Stopped by for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation and showed on time, but still had to wait to be seated. The host was very gracious and quickly offered the drink menu and water. Any seat in that restaurant is great. For drink we had their House Negroni and I Can’t Recall. Both were delicious and light. For dinner I had the seafood stew and I can’t say enough!! It was amazing. The bowl was filled to the brim with mussels, clams, two small fillets of fish, and Alaskan crab legs. I would definitely recommend for a group no larger than 4.
An all-around great restaurant, I really enjoyed everything about my visit and I'll definitely be back!
Overpriced for the food quality. Obviously caters mainly for tourists.
