It was aweful. Got Catfish and it smelled like someone died. My mom cooked a piece because she couldn't smell that day because of allergies and it made her sick as a dog. Don't recommend this place to anyone.

Went Saturday got the seafood platter it was delicious lake trout, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and the crab cake down to their home made Coleslaw. Everything was so and fresh.

This market discriminates against people of color. Several months ago I visited this market for the first time. I had just moved to the west end and was looking for some good seafood. I was surprised at the blatent hostility shown me while ordering and I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Still I bought fresh seafood in good faith but got home and found it to be smelly and old. It took forever to get my money back but that was a store credit. I spent that money and more for expensive scallops that were sold as fresh but were actually spoiled and smelled awful when I got home. Since I have medical issues, I don't feel like going through the hassle of trying to get my money back again. I have not been back since

I've been going to them for years and the seafood has always been fresh. I got crawfish they cooked this weekend and they were great. Their customer service was efficient, polite and quick. They are not warm and fuzzy but they get you out and on your way.

What a great little family owned seafood store. I have been going to this store for years. If you want real seafood salad this is the place to go - crab meat, shrimp and mayo... that's all and it's delicious. They make fresh crab and cheese balls that are great. They do lunch boxes that will make you want to slap your momma because it's so good ( but please don't slap your momma, it's not cool) that you will want to order a second one. Definitely support this local business and you will not be disappointed.

I have been going to PT's for EONS. I cannot remember having anything but a great experience. We have been satisfied with everything we've ever ordered. The last batch of crabs we purchased there were some of the best I have ever had. We buy fish there at least once a month, and it has always been fresh and delicious. I am very surprised to read a single bad review of this store. Do your self a favor and head on down to PT's the next time you want fresh seafood.

I have been a customer here for years!... always had good service and good , fresh product! Now that they serve lunch, I love to go there when I am in the area for reasonably priced, fresh and delicious seafood for a quick meal. I am really surprised/shocked to see and read some of the other negative reviews here as I just find anything negative to be so foreign to my experience. All I can tell you is that I would definitely go there and judge for yourself! I think you will be glad you did!

Here's my story sad but true..I reserved two dozen little neck clams two weeks before Christmas. I went to pick them up Christmas Eve at 11:30. Not only was the credit card machine broke but my order was two dozen BIG ASS clams that I did not ask for. So why did I reserve them in the first place I even offered to pay for them the day I reserved the order. I just moved here for North Jersey, the clams have always been a must have for the Holidays. I have NO IDEA why the store thought that my family would want to snack on clams bigger then my hand !! Shame on PT Hastings . I only gave them one star when I REALLY want to give them a BIG MINUS !! TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT and thank God they gave me my money back. Guess where I won't be ordering any more.

Went to buy some fresh fish to take home and cook. Saw piles of dry looking fish. Fresh fish has a beautiful glossy look. This fish looked like poor quality frozen fish that was thawed. Was desperate, had dinner guests coming. Asked the slovenly, unfriendly staff person for three pounds of the halibut, which was the best looking fish they had. She grudgingly complied, but looked like she would have preferred to keep watching tv. Took it home. Mediocre. Dry. I have not eaten their prepared foods, but I will not be back again for anything fresh.

First of all the charge $3 to steam your seafood this is my first time in 20 years ever hearing of someone charging to use the steamer they told me if I wanted to spice shrimp I had to choose from what they steamed that morning which clearly was not steamed that morning the shrimp had a foul smell to them and were mushy when I bit into. It also had a foul taste as well! If your looking for fresh seafood BAY SEAFOOD or CATCH OF THE DAY in SOUTH RICHMOND will get you right!! They said they’ve been in business for about 15 years and I honestly don’t see how!!

I've lived in a neighborhood by PT for 4 years and visit probably 5-8 times a month. Not once have I had a bad experience. The fish and shell fish are always amazing and reasonably priced. They carry seasonal fish as well as some of their own delicious dips and soups. The staff consists of people who have worked there for years and who seem to love their jobs. I always walk in to a friendly hello and an excellent experience. They do offer ice in a bag if you have a bit of a commute ahead of you, so maybe some people who bought the fish without any concerns but then realized it was "rotten" when they got home should request this complimentary commodity.
