You need to check this place out even if all you want to do is look at some fish. They seriously have the widest selection of fish and aquarium supplies I have ever seen. They even sell salt water for in your aquarium. The selection of koi is amazing. Go have a look

Best tropical fish store in the Tidewater area period. I've been to them ALL. This is by far the cleanest store, most knowledgeable staff, healthiest fish, and the most reasonable prices anywhere I've seen. The selection is awesome for a new store. The owner Bob hand picks his inventory and informs me that better selections are coming, and they can order just about anything in reason. These people are great, if you have questions or concerns about what you have going on at home, be sure to bring a water sample because they would rather be sure of what you need as opposed to selling you something you don't need. Another plus is Bob only sell products that he stands by and uses at home. This is worth 5 more stars if I must say so my self. A must visit store for fish enthusiast.

Visited this store the past weekend. Nice selection. Out of 3 fish stores we visited this was the one we purchase from. Sarah I think was very helpful. Only reason for not giving 5 stars would be because of dead & sick fish tanks. Maybe more staff could fix the problem. Will return to this store.

Bought a pair of dumbo ear guppies. Unfortunately the male did not make it, but the female is thriving and had her first batch of 15 fry last night. All healthy, swimming, and actively eating. Very very impressed. Great store and selection and great staff.

Oh my goodness was I blown away by this store. From the moment I walked in, I was happily greeted, and felt welcomed. I forgot the girl’s name who helped me today but she was incredibly knowledgeable with any questions I had and help lead me to a purchase and opened my eyes to a lot I needed guidance on and the owner, Bob was very polite and friendly and highly helpful. I’ve finally found my go to fish store and I am even more excited to jump back into my fish hobby. Oh & prices were a dream. Everything was reasonably priced and I expected to spend 70% more than I actually did and that was with add on purchases I didn’t budget for. Certainly worth the drive from Norfolk! Highly Highly Highly recommend you visit.

Hands down THE BEST aquatics store in va beach/ hampton roads area. HUGE selection, knowledgable staff, and an amazing variety of products and fish stock. They have everything from saltwater to freshwater fish. Plants to stone to driftwood and co2 setups. Snails to shrimp to crayfish! Even some rare finds like high fin sharks (true sharks), horseshoe crabs, and sting rays. If you need it, they'll most likely have it. We drive over an hour every time we want to improve our tanks or add something new to our aquariums. We were fortunate enough to have the owner help us on our last visit in and he was amazingly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. You can tell, just by talking with him that this is more than a way to pay the bills, it's his passion. We will never go anywhere else for our tank needs. Neither should you!

I can't say enough about this store it's staff or the owner. I'm from upstate NY I went in just to check out the local selection of things and was greeted by the owner. After looking around for a bit I found a few things I wanted but had to come back another day to get them. I spoke with the owner explained my small issue and he said he would open early on a Sunday just so I could get what I wanted. He is a man of his word he was there at exactly 8:30 so I could get my fish and head back to NY. Bob if you're reading this yes the fish made it back no problem!! My only issue is I wish I had more tanks because this place is loaded and I can't give a 50+ star review. I'm looking forward to coming back.

Great customer service! Great selection of fish and the aisles are labeled as to what type is in each aisle so you don't have to wander around (but go ahead and wander anyway. You never know what you might find). If you remember Animal Jungle, Jungle Aquatics is owned by the same gentleman, now focused on aquariums and ponds. Great selection of hardscape, plants, fresh,frozen and dry foods and anything else you might need for your aquarium.

What a fantastic place. Not really a fish person myself, but I've been in a couple times for aquarium supplies that overlap with vivarium building, and it's a pretty neat place with an array of interesting critters and plants. Looking at their unique inventory inspired me to set up a freshwater river tank and buy the pictured Electric Blue Crayfish. Very beautiful, healthy specimen and really didn't cost much at all. Store is owned and run by the people that owned Animal Jungle back in the day, if anyone remembers that gem, so you know the quality and care of the animals is definitely up to par.

I heard the king of animal jungle is back. Had to see for myself. Great store. Great product. And best prices I Bought a 5” silver arowana for $50 when everybody else in town is $100+ For 4-5” . I recommend them every chance I get now.. . And from what I’ve seen they have the best quality fish and most knowledgeable friendly staff (And cleaner tanks) LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!

The older gentleman that works here is amazing. However the other staff ignored me for over 45 minutes while giving me evil looks. Some of the tanks here are amazing and well taken care of. There are quite a few that were gross. The betta fish were is nasty water. There is also a pretty strong smell. I have been here several times and it seems to be going down hill little by little everytime I visit.

As a novice fish keeper I usually feel a bit out of place in dedicated fish stores but the owner came up and introduced himself to me, an employee then took a few minutes to answer all my questions. Overall very nice and clean place, but some of the fish were sickly (noticeable ich and dead fish) but this is to be expected in a fish store.

I absolutely love this store. The owner was very knowledgeable and ready to help, and the staff were friendly and conversational. The sheer variety of fish sold here is enough by itself, but the addition of a wide variety of plants, bettas, and crustaceans further enhanced the experience. If you're ever in need of koi or feeders, this place has plenty. I was able to get the fish and plants I needed packaged for a fifteen hour drive, and they're all doing well.

First time I had been to this fish store, and I was very impressed with the quality of products. They had very nice fish tank setups for sale and a huge selection of fish. There are places that have slightly better prices but nothing near the level of quality i saw here. They had a large variety of fresh water, pond fish and salt water. One thing that i was very happy to see what their selection of freshwater invertebrates I will be back to the store once I have setup my tank to accommodate them. On a side note my well behaved son(this time) was with me and my wife and the staff gave him a small reward for his good behavior. I will be using this as my go to place.

This is one of my favorite places in the greater Norfolk area. Their staff is kinda "meh" in terms of engagement. It's mostly the woman behind the counter. She seems more interested in having you leave than anything else. Not that I expect smiles and fan fare when I come in, but you know, being glared at when I checkout isn't super welcoming. The most important part though! These guys have an amazing selection of fish, all well organized and very well kept. Water is clean and fish are vibrant. After visiting for a month, I've only seen one dead fish. If you know anything about fish stores, that's actually super impressive. I really like their selection of aquatic plants, but be VERY thorough in checking them and quarantining. I've found a lot of snail eggs, mysterious crustaceans, and filament algae. I did get a free assassin snail hitchhiker, but it could've been worse. I'd hate to nuke a tank with canine dewormer again... Also, they have the best selection of freshwater shrimp in the Norfolk area.

Great store and family friendly! It is hard to find a place to get quality fish, and feel comfortable strolling a terrific 2 year old around. Incredibly attentive and knowledgeable staff. We will continue to make the drive at least once a month. Their selection of ciclids of various sizes is not comparible to ANY other local store. More saltwater fish in stock means not having to special order. Oh and dry goods are competitively priced. Must check it out.

This place is a change of pace from the other fish stores I've been too in the VA Beach area. It doesn't feel cramped, dark, and theirs lots of room between the isles. They have a nice selection of salt/fresh water fish, fresh water plants, dry rock, drift wood, coral (not a big selection, but they're working on it), and dry goods. If you're into beta's, they have plenty to choose from. Not to mention they're the only place I've seen with a Beta section that automatically filters out the water. Its a friendly environment with knowledgeable and friendly staff.There are too many pro's to list, so if your in the area, check this place out.

I went there the other day and it's a wonderful store but one of the Male employees that was bald with glasses was rather rude to my wife when she told him how our fish tank was set up his customer service skills are horrible and they need to look into friendlier employees if they expect the business to survive above the water.

BEST OF THE BEST! The filtration system they have set up here for all of their tanks is fantastic. Fish species are in individual tanks, not just long tanks with dividers in them, and it is obvious how well they care for their fish. Some of the prices are higher for cichlids than other stores, but the quality and care they are being provided makes it all worth it. They also have some rare species and some imported aquarium products (Chinese substrate!?) that make this shop great. Definitely worth a look!

Love the fish variety here. The store is pet friendly so I was able to bring my dog with me while I ran errands. The store owner was very nice and acknowledged me as a customer even when he was busy and made pleasant conversation about my dog. We bought fish there for a new tank we installed and the clerk was extremely helpful by letting us examine the fish after she caught them to make sure they were the ones we wanted. Sometimes we like to just visit here to browse and see the new fish.

Loved this place! When on a whim with my son just to check out some fish, ended up walking around the entire store with one of the employees while my son asked her what every fish in the store was. She talked to us up until about 5 minutes before the store closed, I would recommend this store to anyone looking for fish, tanks or accessories. All their fish look healthy and tanks were clean, even had water plants and coral. I was extremely impressed, when I buy my kids fish everything will come from here!

This is by far one of the best fish stores in Virginia Beach, glad to see the owner of Animal Jungle, which I went to years ago and loved, still loves animals and fish. They sold me a silver arowana at the best price I've ever seen in my life.
