The service was horrible and I left with absolutely nothing. I went in yesterday to get some steamed crabs and shrimp. I was told that they were no longer steaming seafood. The way I was told could have been a little more professional. The guy steaming the food stressed to the cashier that they are no longer steaming seafood instead of talking to me directly. It looks bad. Who ever that guy was seemed super annoyed. Terrible way to keep customers. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I couldn't even tell anyone how the food is. The service is very offputting. And the location is really sketchy. If you do decide to visit (TRUST ME, DON'T) get in and get out of there. If you want steamed seafood from this DUMP, make sure you call ahead of time. Their steamers might be booked up for the day.

Display case so etched and scratched that you cannot even see the fish. No one was able to tell the country of origin of some fish. Asked for smaller cut of fish (1/2 pound) and was told, very bluntly, that "he won't cut it, do you want it or not." Will not be returning.

We've been going here for years simply because its the only place we can find live blue crabs (which is a shame for an area surrounded by water). My only complaint is that their size classifications vary by the day. A "jumbo" one day will be a No. 1 the next, depending on what they get in. They seem to just spread out their stock into the categories like its a sliding scale! Bonny's, if you dont have any crabs over 6.5" then you dont have any jumbos and you shouldnt charge jumbo prices. A super jumbo is over 7". PERIOD. We live 45 minutes away and order them steamed before we see them. For several years the sizes have been a rip off. I think from now on I'll have to come in, view the crabs, argue over the size being charged, and then wait for them to be steamed :(

Food is good and prices are good for local catch. But it's hit or miss one the service and the old shop is sketchy. Don't look around too much just go in there with an idea of what you want, pay for it and leave.

I came in to get some crabs (soft shells and live male blues). The prices were outrageous! I left with nothing. My local seafood restaurant in Richmond, VA--2.5 hours from the coast--is cheaper than this place. As close as they are to the ocean and as accessible and plentiful these crabs are, there is no reason to charge for hat much. $7.50 a piece for frozen soft shells, $45 for a dozen of the very smallest live blue crabs.

They had a good selection of fresh seafood to choose from. Lots of blue crabs. Staff was very friendly. They provided paper for the table and seasoning for the crabs too. We purchased live crabs and cooked at home. They will steam them for you for a few bucks more.

What a wonderful place, My husband and I were on our way home from the beach and he wanted some blue crabs and oysters to take home to WV with us, being that I grew up in VA Beach I remembered this place as a little girl, we git there and the people were so so friendly, and they had everything that he wanted!!!! The steamed crabs were incredible and the oysters were perfect. I highly recommend stopping by this place if you want fresh yummy seafood and and warm friendly smile !!!

It's a yearly event for us to get a bushel of crabs from Bonney's. The crabs are always excellent and the service tends to be good. This year we got a guy that was having a terrible day. His service was awful and we spent over $300 on seafood. *Update and drop to three stars: the take home shrimp were like rubber. Very disappointed this time.

We had a wonderful experience in picking up a 3.3lbs Rockfish filet. It was very fresh and they had a great selection. They pointed us to try the Rockfish and promised we would not be disappointed, and they were right, it was delicious. They even through-in some of their seasoning, I used it on the fish and it was great. I sliced up some lemons slices and placed it on the fish, the fish was grilled and came out amazing. I would definitely go back when we're in town again.
