Their food is amazing. The best French fries you've ever tasted. Mac and cheese bites were new to the menu and amazing. BBQ pulled pork was fantastic. The young lady at the register the day I stopped in (normally a cook?) was very friendly. When I pulled up, there was one open spot in the parking lot and inside there was a line to the door. That says a lot about their food. It really is worth it.

Great food! I call ahead for burgers or sandwiches and they are usually ready in 10-15 min. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich as I am not a seafood fan, but my husband sure enjoys the haddock sandwich. It's a shame I don't usually have room left after even 1/2 sandwich & fries for the great fried apple dessert. 9/21/18 I have to add on that I have been to several BBQ restaurants over the summer and none even compare to Riley's pulled pork sandwich. Thank you!

Stopped for a little seafood. Very happy with the choice. A cup of Haddock Chowder thick with fish and potatoes and in my case oyster crackers. Good hearty broth. A pair of Lobster Rolls plenty of Lobster and fresh ingredient made this an excellent meal. The Fried Apple Dessert with soft serve vanilla a good closer.

First year going here and been 3 times. Spend 50plus each time and bring people with us every time. Ordered today 2 dinners and app. Was suppose to be 1 clam and 1 scallop dinner. When we got the order it was 2 clam dinners. My son brought it over and i seen that the order was messed up and went and mentioned the mix up. Then a very rude lady said it was our fault and that she would fix it. Then had a different employee bring out a smaller order of scallops that were saturated in grease. Then the lady had her employee come right back out and had her have us give back the clams that were sitting on our side of sweet potato fries. I personally was like are you seriously and she had to scoop out the clams and said she was sorry that the lady in charge wanted the clams back. Now I'm wondering did they serve these to someone else??? I've spent over $150 in three times I've been and brought people that spent at least that. So before you ask if I brought it to your staffs attention. I think you need to talk to your staff vary unprofessional service.

Delicious! Fried clams were way better than the ones we got on Revere Beach in Boston. Love the onion rings. The batter was thick (almost like a fried pancake) but surprisingly light at the same time. The maple balsamic dressing was pretty sweet and the coleslaw wasn't that impressive but everything else was amazing. Loved the service and the ambience. Come hungry. Portions are huge and prices surprisingly good. 2 free sides and a choice of dessert or drink come with every entree. Wow!

The food is to absolutely die for literally EVERYTHING on the menu is so good I usually go for the grilled chicken sandwich or the Caesar salad (which is saying something cause I normally don’t like salad ) on the ice crea side of things they are like the only place in the area where you can get an orange freeze and man they are worth it. The staff is wonderful and friendly, polite and courteous. I can’t wait to go back for another meal

Riley Fish Shack has the best seafood this side of the White Mountains. The quality is top notch and the freshness of the seafood is as good if not better than you can find on the coast. With this hot weather, their ice cream has certainly hit the spot this summer. Friendly family dining at it's best!

The onion rings we great, homemade beer batter o rings. I liked that they offered raw carrots and cucumbers as sides rather than more fried food. The fried haddock was previously frozen fish so therefore was very dry, not good for a fish shack.

We found about Riley's by word of mouth. Wow, were we pleased! We had both the whole belly clams and clam strips. They were sweet, tender and cooked to perfection. Frankly, it was the best seafood that we have all ever had. Staff was cheerful. Eating seafood, outside on a beautiful summer day, it doesn't get much better. Would highly recommend.

This place is a surprise gem in St Johnsbury, Vermont. I heartily recommend this restaurant. The serving sizes are very ample and are a decent price. I almost always bring home a little bit to enjoy later. If you're just looking for some good ice cream they have wonderful hot fudge sundaes. Riley's Fish Shack is conveniently located across from the famous Saint Johnsbury icon, the Fairbanks Scale Company.

The food is quite good. French fries are exceptional. The only problem is they obviously don't care about environment. The food is served in non-reusable "plates" and you have to eat with plastic forks and knives. Worse, all that stuff goes in a single trash (no recycling). Vermont is such a beautiful place. You guys should know better.

Driving from MN to ME to satisfy my wifes craving for some "good" seafood!!! During our last long leg of the trip we came upon this small welcoming restaurant. Wife got a very generous portion of some whole clams and I got a very tasty senior size portion of nicely done sea scallops with sides of fries and cole slaw included!!! Needless to say the rest of the trip through the White Mtns. and on to our old stomping grounds was much more enjoyable with our happily filled stomachs!! We'll remember this stop on our return trip!! Bitzy enjoyed her doggy treat dessert too!!!

Heard about the place being so good . I stop by and being from Tennessee I tried the pulled pork . Well it was very good no fake pork it was the real deal . Milk shake was great . Hole in the wall fried seafood place along with burgers, grilled chicken, ice cream and fresh Lobster! I ordered a cup of New England clam chowder and I got the lobster. Chowder wasn't great and there wasn't any plans, but the lobster was unbelievably tasty... And it was only 19 bucks and it came with two sides. If you are in the area stop by and check this place out! P.S. their milkshakes are really great as well!

ordered 2 lobsters for our 43rd anniversary. They were overcooked and so rubbery you could not break the shells, I can usually demolish a lobster in 15 minutes, but battled with these for over an hour, leaving a good portion behind. They were tasteless and rubbery and just plain awful. My wife and I were nauseous for the rest of the night. This was unacceptable and we should have demanded our money back.

Great food.... sooo my wife and i spent over a grand eating at rileys.we love the food and always had great serice ect. Then 1 day it recently got destroyed. I urge EVERYBODY to go to winegate instead.. recently my wife placed an order and was treated horribly while ordering. Then upon her arrival continued to listen to the same IGNORANT employee badmouth and mock her. Mind you this was all due to the employee not even knowing the ingredients of there menu.. so if you want to be treated with respect and good customer service i recomend Aaron fondry and winegate.. .

Favorite lobster place ever! Always take the fresh lobster. Really great for the price you pay. Don't expect 5 diamond service, it's a shack! But the food is great and this is what's important for me when touring on motorcycle :-)

Over priced with small portions. Our sandwich that came with a "side" of cole slaw came with a 2 oz cup of slaw. Order water, and they will charge you $1.70 an give you a bottle of Dasani. Order a scallop roll, and they give you 6 scallops on a hot dog bun. Not nearly as impressed with this place as they are with themselves...

We tried Riley's Fish Shack on the recommendation of my Mom - we were in Vermont from Charlotte NC for her 80th birthday. Of course, she came with us and the 3 of us totally enjoyed it! We all had a lobster, it was Jeff's 1st time having Maine lobster and WOW!! It was delicious. We ate outside, looking at the gorgeous foliage and stuffing ourselves. The staff was friendly and cheerful Will definitely go back again the next time we are in VT! Recommend Riley's for everyone

Always a must stop when visiting the area. It doesn’t look like much but the food here is always spot on..great prices..seafood here is so good..always a must is the lobster roll which I always ask for hot with butter, it will run you $12 but they don’t skimp on the lobster meat..everything is always cooked to order and never dissatisfied. This place is always packed so have to usually wait a bit especially because everything is cooked fresh but well worth it..they have inside and outside patio seating and welcome dogs on the patio.

Their paranoia for alcohol & liquor control it's over the top. Had the same conversation three to five times before even ordering-. "my container it's empty. See?" - I was the only person at the counter. While owners and managers might be impressed, this made me wonder if they would forget my order. Portions were light but yummy -small burger and two (??!!) mushrooms. Could be better

My Swiss burger was just the way I asked for it and my wife said her haddock sandwich was juicy and delicious. The dining room is clean and has a quaint seafood restaurant decor. We had the opportunity to meet and chat with the owner as well, she was very gracious and welcoming. We will be stopping here again and I can't wait for warm weather so we can stop for ice cream on our way though the area.

We ordered the burgers, clam belly, fried pickles and broccoli and cheese bites. I have to say the food was really good! They seemed understaffed which is the only reason I'm not giving five stars - obviously not on the staff at all but we waited an hour after ordering to eat and the tables / inside was dirty and couldn't have been paid attention to with how busy they were. Maybe if they hired someone to clean up and make sure everything is stocked it would've been a better experience :) 10/10 reccomend their food though, staff was friendly and there were places to sit and eat outside. Looks like a snack shack but high quality for sure

I was very pleased about this place until about 5 days ago. I ordered 2 of the 3 choice meals. One with shrimp, scallops and haddock. One dinner with all haddock.There were 6 bay scallops . There were 5 shrimp. There was a little piece of haddock which tasted like frozen store bought and the onion rings were undercooked and over battered. Portions were not like usual. Very disappointed! I usually order the whole belly clams and get a ton. The 2nd dinner with all haddock wasn't great either!What has happened to this place?

Pretty good! Nice little fish place. Friendly service, albeit a little on the slow side. We went just after lunch time, 2:30 ish and waited approx. 15 min. for our food. But, it was hot and fresh! I got the haddock, fried and it was crispy, flaky and delicious. Fries were just as good.

First off the food is absolutely amazingI would highly suggest dining here you won't be disappointed but there is a few cons to mention the service was rather lackluster I walked in and paid for my takeout order and the lady took my money and then just moved on to the next customer no problem figured my food wasn't ready yetafter about 10 minutes I pointed to another lady and ask her if that was my food sitting on the counter and it was I would have preferred to get it warmer but it was still tastyall in all not the best atmosphere certainly not the best service but I highly doubt you can beat their food
