REVIEWS OF Caputo's Market & Deli IN Utah

Brent Lemberg

Delicious and large traditional sandwiches paired with a quaint boutique grocer for the hard to find items you are looking for. Can't beat it for it's niche in SLC.

Cathy Rule

Lots of variety. A great market all around!

Michael Mozdy

Always great. Best gourmet, artisan food shop in town

Marilena Winter

Love this place they have a great variety of items, been doing business with them for a number of years.

jake godfrey

Sandwiches are SO good. And everything you order is made with stuff from the market they have there. They had this really good mustard on my sandwich that I've got in my fridge now! A little expensive, but not too bad.

Lana Dahle

They serve hearty deli sandwiches (I've tried the Caputo, Soprano and Meatball) on good bread, delicious desserts (if they have chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies snag at least one), and generous servings of the salad trio smooshed together in a large paper basket. I liked the caprese salad the most but the pasta with green beans in it was surprisingly good. I want to go back for soup and a warm pastrami this winter. We found it a perfect place for a mid week large group date to an early dinner, we practically had the place all to ourselves and everyone's food was fantastic. They close at 7pm.

Rod Gullo

Great tasting sandwiches at fair prices. The roll was perfect and the meats were high quality.

Catherine Pacheco

I love their sandwiches! A half sandwich is quite filling and you can't go wrong with any of them.

Maggie Lauser

GREAT SAUSAGE SANDWICH

River One

The Muffaleta is better than any in NOLA. Had the meatball the other day for the first time and it was better than Moochies!

Kevin Smith

I honestly can't believe this place isn't better known it is honestly the best Italian market, best sandwich shop, best chocolate shop, best fish market all under one roof. Service is on point and amazing, as well as the quality of help you receive. The sandwich shop is legit especially since they expanded the menu, but the specialty menu is always incredible. I highly suggest this is a place I can't go without!

Joseph Wasden

Great everything. Had the "old school" sandwich with the sparkling wine potato chips and just hope kombucha.

A Tolsma

Caputo's is a treasure! My wife and I had sandwiches (1/2 Caputo for my wife and a whole Hot Pastrami for me) that were fantastic. Already can't wait to go back. They also have an amazing assortment of meats, cheeses, olive oils, you name it. And the staff is just great.

John Roh

It may sound cheesy, but we had a fun date taste testing many of the incredible cheeses there! We ended up taking home 6 with sure plans to return for more. It's definitely not a simple grocery store variety but an international experience for the taste buds. Enjoy :-)

ogre 71

They changed the bread on their sandwiches, they are still good but they use to be better and no big olive.

Michelle Spencer

We got duck fat. Delicious cooked with eggs and potatoes. We'll go back next week for a sandwich.

Joshua MacPhetridge

Wonderful sandwiches, great selection of chocolates, cheeses, meats and sodas.

David Iverson

Fantastic Authentic Italian. Sandwiches are huge, pasta is amazing and fresh, spacious dining area and historic building and atmosphere. A must visit for lunch in downtown SLC!

Max Kennedy

Really knowledgeable staff always willing to help

Chris Finnegan

Best meatball in the state. Hands down. Plus open early and on Sundays.

Heather Wilson

Great downtown cafe and store! I could shop here everyday.

OM 75

A jewel in the SLC food scene. Delicious things on every aisle. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and can help make some tough decisions easier. Go here, eat the sandwich, buy the olive oil, grab some artisan chocolate, and maybe even try something you've never, ever, had before. Do it!

Stephanie Johnson

Food here is really great, love this place.

Cory Nachman

Food is good, never had a single issue until today. Went in for a sandwich and came out and my car was blocked by a truck. I asked inside if they can get them to move the delivery truck to which I got “that’s not us, you have to talk to them” even though it was a delivery for the deli... I talk to the drivers and ask them to move so I can get back to work and they say no they can’t move. He stated “I have 16-20 F******* pallets I’m not moving they need their delivery too” I was stuck in the parking lot for a total of 41 minutes and when I said that was ridiculous I was referred to the signs saying large trucks may block you at any time. The signs were not posted on the west side near the fence where I was parked...

Nelson Knight

Been a regular here for 12 years. I am hooked. I have read thousand page books here one lunch at a time. Caputo's will always be one of not only my favorite restaurants, but places. Tony was a pioneer in this neighborhood and now his family has an empire of multiple stores, but this is the flagship. Tomato and Mozzarella is legendary and I am also a big fan of the salmon salad. However, I almost always have a prosciutto sandwich with extra olives on the side. Very popular and gets loud at lunch. More peaceful at outside tables if the weather is good. The market has a variety of unusual delights and the staff will be patient and friendly and wants to help you to understand the food. They offer classes and aren't skimpy about samples. THE place for locally sourced food in SLC before it was cool.

William

Amazing place. I never knew that a simple turkey sandwich could taste so good!

Jessica B

In response to Caputo's comment, you are free to use my review. Hopefully you see this since I am unable to respond to your comment. My boyfriend and I attended the Intro to Craft Chocolate 101 class last night and had an absolute blast. I learned so much about chocolate and have a much greater appreciation of how it's made. I loved hearing all the stories about where each chocolate bar came from and the specific people who made them. We walked out of there with an armful of chocolate and will definitely be back for more. We'd love to attend another class and are keeping our eye out for the next chocolate one! Thank you for such an awesome and fun experience!

Sara Fry

If you love authentic Italian, try this place out for lunch. They also sell a lot of imported Italian products, plus home made items like pasta and gnocchi that are amazing! I love their in house aged Parmesan cheese.

Cody Bender

Best chocolate selection in history. Also really great for bar bitters. And the sandwiches are amazing! Go!

Michelle Anderson

Staff is helpful and friendly. Great deli is really good. If your in the area stop for a bite.

J Campos

Fantastic deli and shoppe, everything Caputo's does is terrific. Great place to get slightly extravagant food gifts.

Cale Stus

Great sandwiches! Lettuce is always meh and so are the tomatoes. If they upped the produce game on their sandwiches it might hit five stars. Love the attached market.

Carmen Levick

What a great place. Fabulous cheese and chocolate tastings. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Dave Martin

The fresh Mozzarella sandwich is delicious. The staff has always been friendly.

Emily Roncancio

Wow. Delicious hot pastrami sandwich! Just didn’t enjoy it when it became maddening diarrhea....

Scott Mccabe

The Caputo sandwich is amazing . The customer service is excellent. Loved the variety of products. Definitely will be coming again.

dana carlson

Great food and atmosphere. Parking is sketchy as always downtown. I do love the store on the side I am just not in to smelling fish while I eat my delicious meatball sub.

James Steadman

They have changed there recipe for the meatball sandwich. Not good anymore.

Gabrielle Ray

Go have lunch in the cafe. Buy some yummy chocolate and get something you've never tried before fro. Their pantry items! Really fun place to go for a lunch date!

Jorgina Hancock

Fabulous food, incredible market, great cheese olive deli bar, Even has a fresh fish market attached. It was sandwiches with just marvelously good. But it was freezing cold inside.

A very unique and rewarding experience in the heart of lower downtown SLC. The Caputo family has built something really extraordinary, and they use wisdom to chose wonderful people to help support that experience!

Cody Bender

Best chocolate selection in history. Also really great for bar bitters. And the sandwiches are amazing! Go!

Jeff Solembrino

Wow is the only thing that comes to mind. Very good quality.

Aaron Austin

Unique and interesting place with good food

Keith Keller

Love Caputo's. Try the meatball sub, the hot pastrami sandwich, and the antipasto salad.

Doug Allen

I was really surprised by how many different types of chocolates there were there. The chocolate connoisseur would be happy. They have food from locals as well as from other parts of the world. Different pastas, sauces, CHEESES, meats, jams, CHOCOLATES, and more. They even have a deli inside where you can order different sandwiches that you can eat at their cafe style dining area or outside area. It's a nice and relaxed atmosphere that kind of takes me temporarily to some place like Italy.

Tyeson Rogers

Unique for SLC. Tasty. Lil more cash but it's worth it.

Bryan Bird

I was sad to see that Caputo's is not using cured meats in their sandwiches any more. The cappocolo was cooked, not cured. I went over to the meat counter to buy some pancetta and they don't sell that either (They have an American product that costs more than imported pancetta but looked half as good). They told me the only imported Italian meats they sell now are one salami and some prosciuttos. Bummer!

Jonathan Porras

This is a must stop anytime we are in SLC. There deli has anything your heart desires and if you get a friendly person behind the counter you can sample to your hearts content (dont be a jerk and not purchase anything after though). The restaurant also has great sandwiches though the staff on that side of the business always seem a bit ornery. Again this is a must stop when in SLC.

Derek Strasters

A hidden treasure, one of the best gourmet sandwich shop in Utah and a great place to find specially ingredients from around the globe. Did I mention they have their own cheese cave? Because they do and their aged Gouda is unbelievable! A very special place.

Jeff Holman

I love this place every time I go. It's easy, fast, casual, and simply high-quality food.

John Schamel

I always find myself disappointed when I come here. PBS gave my dad a discount card so he keeps wanting to go here but the food is nothing special. I've ordered the daily specials twice and it seems like whatever they mess up or needs to be thrown out is what they put on special that day. I've tried the lasagna, the meatball sub, and "The Caputo sandwich" and a unedible roast beef sandwich that was on "special" :P, While all but the roast beef sandwich taste fine it's really nothing you can't find better at pretty much any other sandwich place in the city. Plus the acoustics in the place are really bad so it gets really loud and hard to hear the people you're dining with over the other people talking in the restaurant at lunch time. Thank god they told my dad they won't honor his PBS discount anymore so we don't have to come here anymore.

Philip Walls

Mediterranean grocery with an incredible selection of wine, cheese, chocolates, breads, olive oil, and much more. Complementary tastings of pretty much everything they offer. Staff are extremely friendly. Also recommend checking out the sandwich shop off to the side. The Soprano was delicious!

DankWear Administrator

The sappano is dank great service great food and I good place for a great snack for later

Daniel Rust

One of our favorite eateries in downtown. Bookended by a awesome seafood counter and a upscale deli, this venue is fun to explore and eat at. Our favorite is the Caputo sandwich and the Meatball. The bread that is used is perfect for sandwiches; be sure to eat it fresh (although to-go is fine as well), as the bread is at it's best then. Throw in a olive oil brownie after and you have a nice meal.

Anna Day

Great sandwiches, salads and coffee. They are also a great place to rent out in the evenings for small events!

Stuart Bristow

This is simply the best deli for Mediterranean and similar foods in Salt Lake City. And it doesn’t stop there. Ingredients that are not commonly available in the USA (like duck fat) and unusual things like their range of bitters, sausages and a variety of cheeses are sold here. Add to that the friendly and helpful service and you have a winning combination. Well worth trying if you are passing by or even just in the area!

Adam Blair

Great sandwiches and love their selection of imported goods. Try a few meats and cheeses! It's always an awesome stop.

Alpine Pyper

So fire. Awesome sandwiches. The store is cool too, I always end up spending more than I intend on snack plate fixins

ultimate Thrumbo

Amazing selection of hard-to-find products and quality meat and cheese.

ed maina

Lots of everything Italian food items. Very friendly staff. The only thing that I didn't car for was the bread they use for their sandwiches, it was a soft bread rather than a nice crusty Italian bread.

Danielle Palmer

This place is so awesome! The meatball sub is drowning in delicious sauce & meatballs & the chocolate chip cookie is melt-in-mouth divine! So cool that it's connected to an authentic chocolate shop. Definitely coming back.

Kathie Gamundi-Gassman

Love this place! The folks working the deli are so passionate about their products it's awesome. We always have a great education on different salamis fantastic cheese's olives you Lehman. It's certainly a place to come and taste and open new flavors to your palate. outstanding service every time! The restaurant superb. Tonight's meal was a meatball sub that we shared and it was top of the line. This is certainly one of those places that you want to have on your regular schedule. It's addicting

Joshua Kennedy

Great food. Always a treat to eat here.

Shelly Balderston

Such a fun little Italian market. Had a great selection of wonderful products. Can search for cheese, meats, chocolate and fish all in one market. You can also sit down and eat wonderful sandwiches and soups all made fresh. Will definately go back again.

Stetson C

Fine Italian sandwiches and great imported products.

Paul Taylor

This place makes the best deli sandwiches in town. My favorite is the Turkey sandwich with spicy mustard, but everything else has always impressed me too. I love to go here for lunch. The connected fish market has fresh fish flown in daily. The rest of the market has an amazing array of chocolates, olives, and much more.

C S P

Basically the best place for salami and Italian meats and cheeses. If you have not bought your olive oil here then come do it. You can have lunch and use their deli. It's bomb. And it you plan it for Saturday morning hit that famers markets across the park

Zach Miller

I love love love this place. I can always find what im looking for the people are always smilong and laughing with the customers and each other. It just makes it fun to go here and look even though you've seen it already. Plus they always have something else i want hahaha

Mia Allen

The store and products are just incredible, and the staff is so knowledgeable friendly and helpful. Even better than that, are the classes. If you haven’t had a chance to check one out, you’re in for a treat. Sign up for a gin or whiskey class and you’ll be delighted to taste and learn about not only the drinks, but also incredible cheeses, meats, and chocolate to pair with each drink. If you’re not a drinker, don’t worry they have food specific classes as well. Go out on a limb and buy tickets, bring a date or a friend you need to impress, you won’t regret it

Mr. Green

I eat a lot of sandwiches, and I’m very critical, but this is the best sandwich I’ve had in a long time! Since it was my first visit, I had the namesake “Caputo “ half sandwich with a side of pesto pasta salad and green salad. The sandwich was very flavorful with fresh bread, nice crust and slightly sweet balsamic. Both salads were delicious in their own way so you can’t really go wrong. I have also heard they make a meatball sandwich that’s good enough to convert non-meatball people. If you’re not from the area, drive up here and treat yourself. If you are from the area, support this gem of a sandwich shop.

Stewart Henderson

Great deli with excellent meat and cheese selections. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Happy Wife Happy Life

Delicious food and great customer service. I had an amazing sandwich and the atmosphere was so peaceful!

Lacey Gledhill

Defiantly coming back. Food was great. Selection is amazing!

Reagan Steiner

Exceptional quality and products you can't find most places

Taylor DeVon

I held my wedding here. I can't begin to tell you how amazing everything looked, and the food was unbelievably delicious. Thank you so much, Taiya and the staff that made this happen. ♥️♥️♥️ Cake: Jessica Richards @tinyideacakes

Logan Whitney

Such incredibly delicious and fresh selection. I'm not really a fan of oils and vinegars but I love the blend they put on their deli sandwiches! Also their store is wonderful for getting holiday gifts.

Casey Harding

The meatball marina was bomb. Cute setting. Fresh food. Quick service and fair prices. And an amazing luxury chocolate selection.

Crystal-Lynn Bartier

I absolutely love going to Caputo's. Coming from a French background, I miss eating Western European meats and cheeses. Not only does Caputo's have a wonderful and plentiful selection, but the people who work here are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Bryan Anderson

Such a great place to eat. Sandwiches are so fantastic and the salads are even better. Prices are a little high but the food is high quality!

Thomas Gardiner

Great sandwiches with an awesome collection of chocolate!

Douglas Romero

Love this place!! Getting in touch with my Dutch heritage! Sandwiches and soups are amazing, plus you can get traditional candies here!

Mozely

This place is worth a visit to Salt Lake City. They have the absolute best selection of Chocolates out of ANY western state I’ve been too (including some places in Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco). Their selection is second to none. They also have an amazing selection of cheese, meats, olive oils, and balsamics. I’m not as knowledgeable in these foods, so I can’t speak to them. But I am confident in sending any foodie/fine food aficionado here. Some other foods they have (and PLEASE note that I will miss some things, they just have great food here): -Truffles (seasonally) -Pastas -Salts (fleur de sel, flavored salts) -European Sodas -European Cookbooks (Greek and Italian, for example) -Locally baked fresh bread And a whole lot more. Don’t be intimidated. Caputo’s has a very knowledgeable staff that are extremely helpful. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Sonya S

A little $$ but your getting great quality cheese, chocolate, vinegar salt.. Its the best.

Tyler Soukup

We go to Caputo’s almost every weekend! Such an awesome place for lunch, every sandwich is just as amazing as the next one. The chocolate chip cookies with salt crystals on top are a weekly staple. Plus the fish market and Italian food store are top notch, we buy the best ingredients there that make our food taste so professional. This place is one of those local spots that makes SLC so cool. Thank you Caputo’s!

Doug Allen

In addition to the fact that the sea salt dark chocolate cookies that they sell at their register may very well be the best cookies I've ever tasted in my life (and I'm into baking), their lasagna, salad and rolls were phenomenal. I was so hungry, and my meal was SO satisfying. I like the modern, industrial, casual atmosphere. The market area and selection of specialty chocolate is worth checking out as well. Staff was helpful and friendly. 10/10!

Kimberly Mulvaney

Best Ruben sandwich ever!!! So happy for you if you get to eat here Worth traveling all the way from California to eat here ! Your very blessed if you live locally for this place.

Lacey Gledhill

Defiantly coming back. Food was great. Selection is amazing!

Brian Dean

Great atmosphere surrounded by a fusion of old world architecture and modern amenities. Wonderful cold cut sandwiches and a variety of Italian salads. Has to be one of the best delis in the state.

Bruce Thomsen

Good Italian food

Crystal-Lynn Bartier

I absolutely love going to Caputo's. Coming from a French background, I miss eating Western European meats and cheeses. Not only does Caputo's have a wonderful and plentiful selection, but the people who work here are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Martin Ocegueda

Sandwiches are out of this world. The bread is perfect and the ingredients are fresh. The chocolate selection is the best I've seen.

Rachel Whitaker

Forst time with my parent going there, at one side it all grocery of meat and other thing i didnt see but on the other side a sandwich place that got you to test it out. Me and my brother had the meatball that sink into the mouth to guve out the flaver of juice and little hint of spice, the portion is great that you will need a fork and a spoon to scrape the exstrack of the sauce. With a side of chip you get to choose from. My parent got theirs which i am sure was good but doesnt force you to use napkins alot if you like to be neat.

Susan Hiner

The sandwiches are big, fantastic, and cheap. The market is full of ingredients that I have no idea what do with, but are probably great. Expensive, though. No one needs $17 hot chocolate.

April Viresse

One of my essential stops when in Salt Lake City. The staff is always cordial and helpful, and the food (cheese!!!) is world class

Adam Alvey

Jenna is an exemplary employee, she helped me narrow down which prosciutto to purchase and explained different flavor profiles to me. I learned a lot about the food I was buying and had a great experience while I was there.

Alexi Johnson

Besides the amazing food and various items, I love the staff! I have always and will continue to recommend this place

rodrigo arroyo

I work at a busy tattoo shop in slc so it's very important to get going when we order food. In order to move the process faster we usually call ahead and pick it up. I called the deli two times and no answer. When I showed up it took about 5 minutes to get noticed and I was the only one waiting to order food. Once I did everything went fine until we discovered one of our sandwiches had half the meat we usually get on them. Very disappointed to sa the least.

michael weiss

Nice little Italian market with a great selection of meats and cheeses. The counter serve restaurant makes some incredible subs.

Nedzad Mehic

A huge selection of Italian products, that are actually made in Italy and taste like they are supposed to..Friendly staff will cut you a slice to try before you decide to purchase..Awesome place with awesome products..

Jim Aamodt

There's Italian and then there's Italian. If the Sopranos was filmed in Salt lake city, this is where they would go for their gabagool. Seriously though, their antipasto is life changing.

Justin Hamblin

Always have a great selection of cured meats and cheeses.

H O Donnell

Delicious food, whether you are dining in or shopping the market. Knowledgeable, friendly staff.

Bloody Gums Murphy

Good sandwiches, gets cold in dining area, smells like fish.

Juli T

This place is a must to try! The selection of deli items, specialty items, cheeses, chocolate, etc., is impressive. The deli people are passionate and knowledgeable and the food is so good. This is my go-to place for imported items for homemade Tiramisu. They have a great selection and the prices are reasonable. They also offer classes which make for a fun activity or date night. Plus, they are delicious!

Kimberly Beal

Always a joy. Love the live music, the wine and food. A treasure.

Matthew Rumery

Went here to pick up some of their unique flavored chocolates. I usually don't believe that flavored chocolates taste like what they are supposed to be, yet their french toast blew me away with the flavor. Great random assortment of flavors that are unlike any chocolate I have had before.

Desanirain .

always a great experience. everyone is helpful. love the cheese selection

Alec Hamilton

I usually come during lunch and will typically experience a small wait ... BUT the sandwiches are amazing.

Stephen Cuffe

Best ever meatball sub... Great place, well worth a visit for lunch or the brilliant deli.

Scott Elder

Had the meatball sandwich. Only got a half and it was huge. I would have preferred to have the roll toasted, but the meatballs and sauce were quite good. Antipasto salad was flavorful but a little too oily for me.

Elizabeth Batchelor

Caputo's is a family favorite. We love their sandwiches, chocolates and imported food market. A bit on the pricey side but usually worth the money! 4/5 stars because this last time they were nearly out of chocolates (it was a full two weeks after Valentine's) and the olive oil I bought tastes old and stale. Sandwich and caprese were great as usual, we will definitely be back.

Rosalie Kimball

Large array of specialty food items not usually found in markets. Very amiable and knowledgeable staff. Excellent deli type food as well. Offers tasting events.

John Warnock

Totally giving up the local secret here, but who cares. Caputo's ROCKS. The sale rack here makes buying superquality ingredients possible, and as a budding mixologist in a state that HATES FUN, Caputo's is a godsend. You can find the best cheeses, meats, syrups, oils, and everything here. Even lunch is fantastic... Just... try not to clear out the sale rack before my monthly pilgrimage okay?

Andrew Elegante

High end deli and gourmet supermarket full of tempting chocolate, meat, pasta and cheese delights. Lots of local and imported stuff plus cheese that they make themselves. Met my friend here for lunch. I had a really nice vegetarian sandwich with fresh mozzarella balls (only a half since I had finished breakfast an hour and a half before). My friend had a full sized meat sandwich that looked very tasty. After we ate we wandered around the store and he pointed out all the stuff he usually gets there. The chocolate selection was extensive with lots of locally made options. My favorite part was the cheese cave in the back of the store. Also attached to this shop are a coffee cafe and a fishmonger. Great little collection of high quality complimentary businesses. Highly recommended for stopping in to eat, browse and shop.

Chris M

Fantastic artisan deli in the heart of Downtown SLC. Great eclectic selection of products that are hard to find other places. Amazing hand-made chocolates, great deli sandwiches and a fish monger on site. Yes, it's more than your local grocery store. You get the quality you pay for.

Steve Wilson

Excellent specialty shop. Largest selection of gourmet chocolates in Utah. Wonderful imported foods including olive oils, cheeses, meats, pastas, etc. The shopping area is fun to explore. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I can't leave without picking up something new to try. Nice restaurant inside that makes some really tasty food. There's a smaller satellite site in Holladay that is also highly recommended.

Sanni Klotzköpfige

Nice shop. Great variety of cheese, salami, olive oil and international food.

Carmella Brown

New batch of olive oil is in. Also got done great parmesan and bufala mozzarella.

john gregory Young

Very fun place friendly staff I frequent flyer there

Luke Adams

I had a fresh, delicious, tasty sandwich. Their ingredients are way above average for a sandwich shop. I could do without the smell of the fish market, but that's just me.

Daniel Van Tassell

Been coming for 15 years. Bread no longer cuts your mouth when eating which I view as a win.

Keith Doyle

Hands down one of the best Muffaletta sandwiches I've ever had. Everyone is really chill and friendly too. Wish I had this back home.

chuck stubbs

Best cheese monger in town. Gets even better when you get their suggestions.

Brett Mathison

What a phenomenal experience. Customer service is incredible here! I came here looking for a very specific cheese, I asked one of the employees behind the counter if they had that cheese, he said they didn't, but he could call another store and check if they did. He called Liberty Heights and confirmed they had my cheese. That is excellent customer service, he went above and beyond and made sure I found what I was looking for, even if it wasn't at their store. They have a wonderful selection of cheeses, meats, breads, snacks, beverages, olive oil and balsamic vinegar! Oh and walls of chocolate! The Caputo deli sandwich was delicious, the accompanying Mocha made it even better. It brought even more balsamic flavor out from the sandwich. The checkout clerk wearing a Danger nametag (which was excellent), had noticed that I had just eaten lunch and asked me how it was. The food was wonderful and the attention to detail on his part was excellent. Employees like these guarantee repeat customers. Hats off to them for phenomenal customer service.

Caputo's is the best. Very helpful staff and great products

Chrys Morris

A true Italian market and delivery. Tony and his family, have always tried to bring their customers the best products. But we do miss Tony. He not always there anymore.

Sir Cadian Rhythm

This place is way better then Ranchoritos

Ryan Barton

The market is a great place to find high quality, or hard to find ingredients. Deli is a great place to find a great meal. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Their cheese and chocolate variety are the best in Utah

D R Lewis

Outstanding Italian/Mediterranean deli with sophisticated cheese and meat facilities for domestic and imported products. Great dry goods, cocktail bitters selection, fresh truffles!, and frozen house-made foods. Lunch deli sandwiches in a separate section from the market deli. A busy place, good service (if at times some counter staff less attentive/trained than others). Family owners (now 2d gen) are A+ and committed to SLC food scene. Cheers!

Justin Barton

We love this place. They have an excellent variety of chocolates and cheese. Import many of their items from Europe. Authentic.

Jonah Brown

Literally the greatest spicy sausage sandwich on planet earth.

Jaynell Booth

I got an awesome selection of chocolates, cheese, and honey so I went back for a sandwich. SO GOOD. one of the best sandwiches I've had in Salt Lake.

Emily Howard

Enjoyed the Spanish cheese and wine tasting! Matt did such a great job presenting - never thought I'd find cheese so interesting. And of course the cheese was outstanding! It was great to go buy the cheeses after at the counter. Look forward to coming to another class and buying more products!! Job well done!

Joey White

The meatball sub is amazing!

Amy Pilkington

Amazing little shop. Prefect place to get a little somthing special for a party or a gift for someone who has everything. Their Grotte cheese will elevate any simple pasta dish, a fantastic variety of chocolate, wonderful olive oils, and what has to be the widest variety of bitters in SLC.

Matt Romero

Whenever I’m in town this is one of my favorite spots to hit up. It’s a hidden gem not just in Utah but the entire country. They carry some of the most unique chocolates, cheeses, oils and vinegars you will ever find. They’ve literally gathered some of the best food from around the world and brought it here. While you’re here be sure to try the deli. The meatballs are actually from Italy! The other sandwiches are amazing too. You’ll be glad you came! TIP: sample the “flower cheese”. You’ll love it. I’ll come here just before heading out on my flight and they will vacuum seal the cheese I buy to keep it safe and fresh for when I get home.

Scott Crowford

If I could live in this place I would! We loved the way it was decorated, the feel of the place. The selection in the supermarket is amazing! We tried several samples at the counter and ended up buying several items for a party we were having. The staff is absolutely fantastic: from the supermarket (knowledgeable, informed, friendly) to the cafe (friendly, efficient, light hearted & fun). We came to shop and stayed for lunch after shopping. The sandwiches and salads were great and a great value. They also offer classes. This was our first time but we will definitely be back!

Lisa Hall

I love Italian cured meats, so this place is obviously a regular lunch spot for my husband and I. The sandwiches are great, the bread is usually good, though I do wish they might have a few more options than just the hard roll sometimes. The deli has a lot of great options as well, and we use it whenever we host parties for their charcuterie selection.

Michelle Barnett

One of SLC's greatest gems. Full of delicious chocolate, cheeses, locally crafted goods ranging from ice cream to bread, and wonderfully imported and curated goods. Their helpful staff is always so friendly, though occasionally busy and you might need to wait your turn to get service, it's more than worth it for the excellent offerings Caputo's has. Pro tip: ask for an introduction to bean to bar chocolate while you're there.

Victoria Felt

The absolute best place in town for cheese and chocolate! Caputo's also has a great oil, vinegar, and bitters selection.

ian pardo

The sandwiches are good and flavored. I liked the small market with imported products. The customer service was ok .

Greg Wright

A great deal of international foods. I go here to get my Spanish food fix. Cheeses, meats, seafood. I love getting a bocadillo made here. Very good. Chorizo and saffron and many lots of good food. It's more expensive than a typical mart, but it's special foods. To be expected.

Ashley Jirsa

My experience at Caputo's could not have been better. The cheese counter person was so passionate about cheese it was contagious. Before I knew it I was tasting all sorts of delicious cheeses. It allowed me to find a cheese that did not just work, it added complexity to the meal. I then ventured to the chocolates. They have a huge selection of artisanal chocolates. I have to say it was initially overwhelming until someone helped me. He was great. He described in detail the differences between the chocolates in a way I could understand. I knew coffee and wine had so many tasting notes and differences by region. I had no clue about chocolate. Again, I tasted a million chocolates and ended up with a different bar for each of my family members. He even had a fun Indian Jones-esque story about one of the bars by Solstice, a Utah company. After shopping, I ate lunch in the cafe area. The sandwich was perfect. I enjoyed that everything was homemade and flavorful. The cookies were also really good and a good deal (they have $7 worth of chocolate but cost $1.99). I'm excited to take one of the classes they offer soon.

Roger Florez

Excellent selection for bread and cold meats

Marie Cosenza

Wow, great selection. I wanted everything. Food is wonderful.

Joseph Martin

What can u say...this place is A-1 top notch..have never had any thing but good experiences there..just go man

Jieun Kim

Very nice place with variety of products! My friend bought truffle salt and she said it is really good! I bought clam sauce for pasta and it looked good so can't wait to try it later! Olive oils and Balsamic vinegar collections are really good, too and they also have samples sometimes.

Sheena Vigil

The products are great, no question there. I recently went to get some meat and cheeses and the lady that helped me seem sort of rude at first, but I blew it off. Once she was done slicing my meat she just ignored me and started to help the next person in line. So, I had to wait for another employee to acknowledge me to get my cheeses. On top of that the meat was sliced poorly and had slivers of the wrapping paper stuck to all the prosciutto.

Bralen Jackson

It's no going to be cheap. But it's the best place in Salt Lake to get fine meats and cheese. Very knowledgeable staff, and you are able to try everything before you buy.

Alan Janson

George helped me with meat and cheese samples for a wine tasting party I was throwing. He was very helpful and all my guests loved the food from here.

Sharon Who

Outstanding fresh sandwiches, so glad we stopped here

quinn landry

Excellent place for everything! Staff is amazing.

Tilley Jeannie

Unless you are really hungry get the half sandwich. Great food.

Michael Jordon

Love it for Italian meats and cheeses. Excellent selection!

Alex Loveless

Amazing traditional style Italian market. Offers cold cut sandwiches in the deli/ cafeteria, and sells authentic Italian style cuts and breads, as well as misc items. They even have a resident chocalatier located in the building. Chocolate is very expensive however.

Robert English

The food is great. However, they have misplaced my order 3 out of the last 3 times I've been there in the last 6 weeks. They need more help behind the counter preparing their lunch meals.

Theresa Durr

I love this place! We visit regularly to stock up on Italian favorites and to see what they have new.

Jack Robbins

This is just for the Fortuna sandwich. The sandwich not only took significantly longer than the rest of the sandwiches for my party despite ordering first and only a half as opposed to the full sandwich, it was also loaded with too much tuna. It's strange to complain about too much meat on a sandwich but there was so much that you couldn't close the sandwich. It made it so wide I couldn't take a bite so I had to eat it with a fork which is not what I look for in a sandwich personally. To top it all off, the tuna was dry. I guess the lesson is don't order this sandwich, I'm sure their other options are better.

Shane Reid

Highly recommend! Great Sandwiches!

Janet Ivers

There were 4 people behind the deli counter and no one acknowledge my presence for an uncomfortable amount of time...all you have to do is say someone we'll be right with you and that makes it much easier to wait. Eventually Luke did ask me if I was being helped...which I obviously wasn't and got to me next. Luke made an effort unlike anyone else.

Jared Stanger

Beware of the meat and cheese counter. The experts behind the counter know what they are doing and will gladly ruin all other cheese for you! It is fantastic!

Whitney Sanchez

We love it here. It's definitely more high end, bit Caputo's carefully and intentionally sources all of its food, so when you buy something you know someone has already put a lot of thought into it. It's also great that you can walk up to any employee and ask a question or for a recommendation (for example, we asked about lasagna cheese) and the employee can help walk you through the best options for what you want to make and what will pair nice with it. They really know their stuff and value customer service. You can also find things here that you don't see elsewhere.

Joshua Hamilton

Meatball sub was absolutely delicious as was the tomato artichoke soup.

Reginald Brookins

Friendly people. Great cheese selection.

Dan Mosman

Really enjoyed the food, I ordered the hot pastrami. Didn't blow me outta the water, but was a solid sandwich to fill you up. The mustard was a nice flavor and the meat was of great quality just didn't quite have that...je ne sais quoi. Would go back to try and get blown away.

Ryan Christensen

I'm always happy I came. I love their sandwiches and visit the cheese and deli counter regularly. Takes classic deli sandwiches to the next level and don't get me started on the chocolate best selection in the valley

Gordon Fralick

Really amazing gourmet deli meats. Jenna took time to tell us about the meats, let us sample and then beautifully wrapped it up! I highly recommend for Italian and Southern European meats and cheeses. Dont forget to get a bottle of the truffle oil!

Chrys Morris

Enjoyed the Spanish cheese and wine tasting! Matt did such a great job presenting - never thought I'd find cheese so interesting. And of course the cheese was outstanding! It was great to go buy the cheeses after at the counter. Look forward to coming to another class and buying more products!! Job well done!

The meatball sub is amazing!

Amazing little shop. Prefect place to get a little somthing special for a party or a gift for someone who has everything. Their Grotte cheese will elevate any simple pasta dish, a fantastic variety of chocolate, wonderful olive oils, and what has to be the widest variety of bitters in SLC.

Pro tip: ask for an introduction to bean to bar chocolate while you're there.

ian pardo

The sandwiches are good and flavored. I liked the small market with imported products. The customer service was ok .

A great deal of international foods. I go here to get my Spanish food fix. Cheeses, meats, seafood. I love getting a bocadillo made here. Very good. Chorizo and saffron and many lots of good food. It's more expensive than a typical mart, but it's special foods. To be expected.

Rebecca Novy

Best place in SLC if you love food and can afford to splurge once in a while. Obviously their stuff is more expensive than the supermarket, but it’s so good! I often come with nothing in mind and discover yummy new treats. Great chocolate assortment, also jams, olive oil, vinegar, pastas, mixed drink ingredients, sweets etc... but my favorite is the cheese! They sell amazing cheese by the pound and are so great at giving recommendations. Everyone is so friendly! I don’t usually stop for sandwiches, but I have tried them at catered events and they are good.
