This Fish Shop is included in the category of Tropical fish store.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Pretty good selection.
Great selection of rocks.. and huge discus.. though I only went for rocks for my 125g setup..
This place was very exciting for me, as I never visited any aquarium. It has wide variety of fish and were arranged well to make the public flow easy without any difficulty. Apart from aquarium it had a mini sizes amusement activities. Mids for sure would enjoy this place.
Great friendly help! Knowledgeable staff!
The people there are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I'll always come back for tropical plants and fish.
hidden treasure. I got some loaches. owner was super helpful. price is excellent too. will visit again.
Great plant prices and options
Excellent fish shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are eager to answer any questions. The only aquarium shop I have found that sell almond leaves! Great mom and pop shop for supporting local businesses instead of corporations.
Met Trey and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great shop !
The place doesnr look pretty but their fish look very healthy. Their plants are very nice too.
Excellent place for aquarium
Amazing shop that has passionate employees that help you create an aquarium you want to have
Have gotten all my fish and most plants from here, been a few months and all alive and kickin. Staff is great
Great place. They have a big variety of fish. Prices are good.
Don't shop here. My first visit was for plants. They gave me snails, 3 kinds of pest snails from 1 plant. I let it go and figured it wasn't a big deal. It's common when you don't buy tissue cultures. I run 4 tanks at home. Everything from a 10 gallon to an aquascaped 40 breeder. They have black hair algae in all the non-discus tanks(clearly they only care about their higher end fish). You'll notice they have their own wall. This isn't much of an issue unless you buy plants, but that could ruin a tank quick so don't buy plants from here unless you want black algae or snails. Some algae is so bad, the sponge filter just looks like a wig. It would be super easy and cheap to clean or cycle a bunch of new filters to replace them. I'm very aware that ultra clean tanks aren't the best to keep fish, but when it's that bad...someone hasn't been putting in the time needed. I bought 3 Gourami and 15 tetra. He threw in an extra 1, most likely because he saw it swimming funny. Sure enough when I got home 1 was having problems swimming and floating upside down. Died an hour or so later. 24 hours after I bought the tetra I saw ich spots. They've been dropping 1 by 1 and I have 2 left that seem to be responding to treatment. The Gourami's I got from them are fine even while in the same tank. They came from a separate tank than the tetra. I spent more on the ich treatment than the tetra. Anyone that knows about Ich knows it doesn't reach the spot stage for X amount of days...so this was there at the fish place and not my freshly cycled and ready tank. Clearly they don't care about their cheap fish. Honestly, if petco has it, go with them. At least you can return dead fish with a water sample and get your money back. They were also trying to sell very small cardinal tetra...you couldn't even tell they were cardinals. Yet they want almost $3ea? Nah man. They don't quarantine and treat fish that come in. Most places like this don't, but the no returns on fish policy is what annoys me. I expect to lose a few due to breeding issues or hidden parasites...but almost all of them?! Don't buy here, if you can find it at Petco, get it there...at least you can take them back when they die from some hidden disease or parasite. It's very frustrating to know your tank parameters are cycled and in check...and a bunch of fish die of something.
Many Healthy Fish and Nice People.
One of my top Aquarium places to go in Houston! If I'm ever on the SW side of town I always try to stop in. Eric and his crew are AMAZING and always kind. Love love love!
I called, went over and - though they are not "bright and shiny" like the fancy, high-dollar shops near the Galleria - they are extremely helpful, prices are unbelievable, they're very knowledgeable and have a beautiful attitude. I felt welcomed.
Always a pleasure visiting.
if you're looking for that storefront that has the thousand dollar aquariums this is not the place. But if you're looking for a cool place that has excellent livestock and the people are cool this is the place for you!!!
Knowledgeable helpful and friendly. Prices were very fair and its a no nonsense fish shop.
Very cool place
Perfect place for plants of all kinds. Wonderful prices.
Love the selection and prices! Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly!
Did like the vibe... Disappointed
really good selection of plants good selection of fish I always love coming to this store it reminds me of how my fishroom will look in the future.
Went because photos show freshwater fish but went in to not even being acklowdged and only saltwater tanks..should have called ahead of time..will just drive further to bissonett pet store or Richmond for supplies and fish.
Great place with great prices and knowledgeable staff!!!
I love it
Great selection and knowledgeable people but I have only ever seen one person working on each side. I struggle to go in there because it takes so long to get stuff and I watch people walk out.
they got really nice discus fish
Love the fish selection as well as the staff!
Houston Aquarium Warehouse is about a hour drive from our home but the drive is well worth it! Their prices on fish are amazing and just the knowledge they have to give and willingness to help everyone who walks through their doors are worth the drive! Support local and these are the type of owners we must support to keep in business! HAW deserves it! They don't sell fish to make big money, they sell fish because they LOVE it. They have the best discus selection in Houston and also sell a great variety of cichlids with more coming in nearly every week.
Excellent place for healthy aquatic plants and fish. The staff are friendly and helpful. Can get very busy on Saturdays.
I drive from 45 minutes away. Pass many pet stores along the way. Always knowledgeable professional help. Bought discis, rummys and cichlids there. Hard to find items that you can get now and support local business. Oh yeah good prices also..
Good prices, Not a big variety and seemed only 1 person working there. Ended up leaving without buying anything because I couldn't get any help. I may go back to see if any difference next time. Will see
Great store nice stock very helpful excellent customer service healthy stock will definitely go to again
Great place and great people.
Came here from the Beaumont area. Instead of taking advantage of that, the gentlemen I spoke to was 100% honest and correct about everything he told me. I ended up not getting a fish but I did end up buying a canister filter. I was able too get it at nearly an online price! Best deal in Houston. Prices are good. I drive along way too look for a certain fish and products, I really appreciate the honesty, I'll come back and recommend everyone here.
Bought starter tank for a good price $60.
Probably the best place to buy discus in town. They also have a wide variety of other fish such as cichlids, tetras, and plants. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I'm giving 2 starts because the plant selections is good and they have good prices but their fish are sick. I buy a couple of times and first time the have a fungus infections and now all my fish are flashing, now Im battling a Ectoparasite infestation. It is worst on my Yoyo Loaches. They also lack of costumer service last time I was there the guy no even say Hi to me he just rush me to buy some fish. I dont se any indication that this store quarantine there fish. I prefer to pay more money for healthy fish than get cheaper fish that is going to die in a month.
One of my top recommended places for your aquarium. Very fair pricing, nice selection of fish and plants, knowledgeable staff and they can even help you special order!
Friendly helpful staff, good selection, and good prices
Great place, friendly helpful staff and excellent selection of freshwater plants and fish. Thanks guys!
As always, satisfied with the service and the warm welcome from Houston aquarium wearhouse family, and beautiful aquatic family members as we so many to choose from. Highly recommend for the next hobbyist(s).
Very reasonable prices
Very nice inventory, super helpful staff!
Don't, take care of there fish. Many are dead, and still in the tanks. Only one person there to serve the customers. A long wait
Great people make this place my favorite aquarium shop! Super helpful, considerate people! Quite a variety of fish and plants!
Beautiful place to visit
Great Famliy Fun!! Especially for little ones!
One of my favorite fish stores that I to goto I've been to many others excluding big companies. They take care of their fish and tanks very well i have yet to see any algae or bought anything with pest snails (plants)
Excellent selection of discus and many other tropical fish. I love the shrimp and tiny fish section
Excellent and nice staff beautiful fish big variety
My go-to fish store. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. These are people who really care about the hobby, not one of those stores with dead fish everywhere from neglect. I come here all the time and plan to keep coming for the foreseeable future.
Love this place! Guys are friendly down to earth and knowledgeable!! Selection is great also.....
Arrived early, wife had doctors appointment nearby. Waiting outside we both decided we were hungry since we had no breakfast and left home early for the 1 hour drive. Left the store front, went next door to Subway, ate, returned and waited until 10:00. I got out of the car and checked the Houston Aquarium Warehouse door, locked. Walked to the fish store, also locked with a miniature font note saying "open at noon due to" I don't remember exactly what it said after that because it really pissed me off that we waited there so long, saw a person do from store to store, left for a few minutes, returned and were screwed over. I'm looking for a 125 gallon saltwater system, you won't get my business.
This is the best in Houston. .awesome fish good selection of live plants affordable prices
Very knowledgeable staff, amazing fish and plants. Good location and plenty of what we all want and love. I go there every week. Best shop in town with the best prices.
All ready looked up reviews they said great place to go....But wrong drove little over an hour. ..did not acknowledge me there...one worked was on the phone talking about an F150 truck..hung around for about 15 mins..still nothing I was the only customer in the store..drove a little further down the road to Fish N Pets Unlimited....and they were awesome
Just went over there the Labor Day weekend. I share with another reviewer - very frustrating. New younger owner took over the older guy who has retired. I got 10 cardinals which were nicely priced ($2 each, so I thought) but then when he fished them out, he included one that seems to be rotting at the tail, so I told him to get rid of it, and he did. The next day, they all died of rotting in various parts of the body. The disease is very aggressive. I feel that the owner knew that the batch he got is infected and yet he allowed them to be sold. Furthermore, I saw in another tank with full of Congo Tetras - mouth rot. He might have got a bad batch from the supplier but then he should've responsibly labeled them as infected tanks and treat them. Buy fish there at your own risk!
It was nice, employees were friendly. Nice selection of discus. They didn't have what I was looking for but I may come back at another point.
Eric was so helpful he was very knowledgeable and helped us select just the right mix of fish for our new tank !! The service and the prices of the fish were excellent ! I highly recommend Houston aquarium warehouse !!
Best price ever.
Great selection and service.
New management is awesome. Very nice and beautiful collection of fish and plants
4 stars for presentation, but this is really a 5 star business for knowledge and ability to get what you want. Kenny is a wealth of information and is very patient explaining.
Very knowledgeable and friendly service from people who obviously care. All fish and plants are healthy and perfectly maintained. They always have a nice supply of live plants, a good selection of freshwater fish and for Discus there is no better supplier in Houston. They always have stunning display tanks to help inspire your next aquascaping project. Their minimalist product line is small but efficient, carrying everything you need without all the snake-oil / "Acme Fish Tonic" clutter. This is my favorite fish store and I gladly drive over 30 miles across Houston to get there.
Great selection of discus and good prices
The gentleman was knowledgeable and patient while my family was looking around. Grate experience.
great prices on fish
Very sparse but had a nice fish at a reasonable price
It took me an hour to get there but it was worth it. Kenny was very helpful. I wish I was into discus and planted tank because this is the place for that. Prices are great especially for breeder pair African cichlids. Bought some peacocks and haps and will be back regularly to check on new stock.
Selection is small. Few workers to assist and semi-defent selection. Prices are fine, but bought shrimp died of natural causes soon after selling and were not worth the 5 dollars price per shrimp that I paid. At times, lots of dead bodies in tanks.
Great place to shop for Discus
This is the BEST aquarium shop in Houston!! The employees are amazingly helpful and knowledgeable, the live stock is healthy and happy, tanks and clean and maintained, and the prices are unbeatable. I will forever reccomend this store!
It's a good store if you in area. They are known for discus fish. Overall it's ok store
Incredible place for all your tropical fish needs. Knowledgeable staff!!!!
Look for top discus dealer no more. Many other nice accessories in stock as well. This guy is awesome for one on one best advice around town. A+++
The guys at Aquarium Warehouse are the best. Always friendly service and great advice. This is my go to store. Unlike other stores they have fish that you don't see anywhere else, and every time I go it's like looking for treasure. They also have popular fish in stock.
Horrible customer service ! Very weird experience. There were no customers, guy working did not ask if I needed assistance. Basically ignored me. Also the store did not have a good selection of fish and supplies This place dont deserve one star. The worst ever !
No frills = lower prices which I think anyone who has emptied their wallet into a fish tank can appreciate. Staff is knowledgeable. Be aware when I've been here, because it is a smaller shop, they've only had one person so if there's a crowd you may have a bit of a wait. The selection isn't huge but it's pretty good (especially if you like discus). And again.. those prices are tough to beat.
Cheep prices and nice people I love it
Came here to buy Discus. I got 10 discus with different color. All 8 out of 10 fishes died after 1 week. The rest died after another 3 days. I believe they sell sick discus because discus i bought from different places are all healthy. Fish tanks in here are very dirty, that the reason all fishes carry parasites when I took it home. All the fishes got white poop after i took it home for 3 days. The owner is very rude and disrespectful. Please avoid this place.
This review is for both Houston Aquarium Warehouse and Infinity fish. Infinity Fish is my favorite of all salt water stores. And HAW has the most beautiful Discus in the Houston area. Both stores are both clean, nicely stocked and very knowledgeable about what they sale. The prices are also the lowest around town!!!!
I drove 30 miles to come here but it was definitely worth it. I really liked the fact that this store is actually about the fish and not the $1000 aquarium set ups. The owner and staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to talk about the hobby. The aquariums are filled with nothing but healthy and very active fish and are obviously well maintained. If your looking for hard to find freshwater fish at a very reasonable price this is definitely the place to go. Great selection of discus and angelfish. I left with two blue angelfish but I look forward to be back again.
This place has great customer service and a great selection of aquatic plants.
I bought a fish and a plant, and was very pleased. The fish snd plant were healthy (1 week later) still are. The staff are very friendly, including the enjoyable conversation about the care of my fish. I do recommend!
Amazing fish, well maintained, very patient and capable staff.
Fish and plants here tend to be cheaper. You can request that they order a certain type of fish on Mondays. If you have any questions, they will do their best to help you.
Very pretty walk in tanks n variety of plants
Their staffs are friendly and knowledge about fishes. You can find a lot of rare fish here with cheap price.
Prices are incredibly fair compared to other stores I’ve been to. I just went by on my lunch break to check it out didn’t buy anything but will definitely be coming back.
If you go Sunday you will have to wait for service, but other then that they always have a good selection and nice honest employees.
Loved this shop. Wonderful selection of high quality discus and quite a few nano species as well. Willing to order fish for you as well which is always appreciated.
Great fish, awesome service. If you are looking for quality fish this is your place to shop.
Need to work on level of service
Just an awesome place to go to. Excellent knowledgeable people there.

Good value for fish
Nice price.little supply of fish.not enough selection.nice friendly employees
Good variety of fish with reasonable pricing.
Amazing store. Great selection of products and livestock and excellent staff.
Nice place. Very knowledgeable employees.
Was a newbie trying to find plants since I'm setting up a betta tank. They were really helpful and gave advice on what would look nice on my specific tank.
Just been there today with John - the owner. Such a good experience. I trade in my large discus for smaller one. He gave me a good deal and pick for me the best. very happy!
