All the food was fresh and perfectly prepared, unanimous approval from a group of five foodies. Everything from the chicken, to the bison, and even a veggie burger. The house brewed stout was very tasty and well balanced. Would not hesitate to eat here again or enthusiastically recommend it to anyone, which I've already done this evening since leaving!

Really a great place to eat in a somewhat out of the way town. Most trips to the Black Hills probably don't include Hot Springs but they should; both for the active Mammoth dig and the excellent restaurant next door. The restaurant has some great menu options plus coffee bar and micro brewery. The only thing not that impressive is the salad bar.

My wife and I eat here once a year. Dee was our server this year and did a fabulous job. We had the chicken fried chicken and roast beef dinners which were very good and love the salad bar, try it!

Food was ok at best, service was very lacking. I had a top sirloin which had no taste. We were here with a large group. None of us got refills on drinks/water and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to ask for our ticket. If we hadn't, we might still be sitting there waiting. This restaurant is amazing. Great service from all of the staff members! My dad said is Prime Rib was the best he’s had in 30 years, since living in New York. I’m a vegetarian and I had been traveling with my family for a few days. There’s not a lot of option on the road sometimes for me, so when I saw they had a veggie burger I was relieved. Salads and French fries on the road, from fast food joints were getting old. They evens had the new ultimate beer party which if your vegan or veg than you know that’s a new party on the market that we’re all excited about. It was delicious! I got it in Woolys western style with a side of fries. We also ordered the best garlic bread off their menu. Everything taste and looks homemade there. We left definitely satisfied and full! So glad we come to this establishment and we will be back soon! Definitely have to come eat here if you’re in South Dakota!

My wife and I had a wonderful time sitting out on their patio with our 2 dogs and son. The staff here took care of all of us like we were part of their family. They brought out ice water for our dogs, a highchair for our son and beers for Mom and me. Every person whom came to are table greeted us with a smile and interacted with us. This is truly the best restaurant in Hot Springs, SD.

One of the few high quality restaurants in hot springs. Fresh cut fries prepared daily with a focus on high quality cuts of meat, cut in house, and a kitchen staff that takes pride in the quality of food that's provided. Parking is limited and often full, but full for good reason. They're filling a niche in hot springs that has no real competition in the area, high quality food.

Was here a year ago and got the same steak as before the cowboy cut. But this time the steak was about 3/8 of an inch thick and cooked about well done even though I ordered medium. Hard to cook a steak when it’s 3/8 thick instead of 3/4”. Bottom line I would not recommend the steak unless you like thin steak

This place is amazing! Everything was great from start to finish. At first it doesn't look to be kid friendly but the staff was so great with the kids and accommodating. Our table was perfectly tucked to the side by the fireplace. Our server, Dee, was awesome. The food was wonderful and perfectly cooked along with not being very expensive. The also have gluten free options that actually taste great. Highly recommend!

The place was busy. Clean facility with friendly staff. Might be the best place around, but not worth stopping in Hot Springs for. The food was OK, the baked potato had been in a warming oven way too long. Next time needing to eat, I’d probably go for pizza.

I was on a short trip to Hot Springs and decided to eat something that wasn't fast food. I was surprised by the excellent flavor of the food, the fantastic customer service, and the reasonable prices. I feel that they could use a few more selections on the menu though. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal.

A nice building with lovely staff, but their options for those with dietary restrictions were horrible. One of those places where No dairy = No food Edit: Yes, VEGETARIAN options are labeled on their menu. Yes, they have a salad bar (not salad entrees, a salad bar). They have Gardenburgers (which contain both milk and eggs). None of their entrees were discernibly Vegan, and I cannot stress that enough.

This was the first time I ever tried buffalo and I tried the buffalo serloin. It was fantastic! My boyfriend got the new York strip steak and he thought it was perfect as well. Drinks were amazing and our server(don't remember her name) was fantastic as well! Definitely recommend going here!

Woolys was very accommodating to my and my boyfriend's plant-based diet. The food was delicious and the salad bar was full of fresh veggies and pasta salads! Food wasn't anything to write home. It was expensive too. We just ordered some fried shrimp, and it was brought to us on these metal cookie pans. They cannot even use plates like everyone else? The shrimp was over-cooked and way too salty. Someone needs to show these people how to cook seafood.

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in many years. Starting off the night, we were seated by Tiana who not only seated us but had a pleasant conversation that did not seem rushed or prepared at all. She made us feel like family which is what I really look for in a restaurant staff and Tiana checked that box. Next was Hayley. She was an absolute sweetheart and again made us feel right at home. She was very attentive to our drinks and food. She even personally helped me pick out what I should have for desert. That leads me into the food which was phenomenal! I started with the self serve salad bar which can be sketchy at times but this was as fresh as it could be. Moving onto the main course, I had the rib-eye with a loaded potato and corn. The whole plate was delicious. Even the corn which can come pretty cold sometimes was amazing. I also had a piece of fresh black forest cake. Hayley was even gracious enough to put wip cream on it. It was so rich I had no problem eating the whole thing in a matter of minutes. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. If you are even driving though this city, make the stop and eat here. You will not regret it.

So glad we chose to eat here. I don't often submit reviews, but felt compelled to in this case. Our food was terrific, and service was ideal. This place makes a point of mentioning that its a local family owned restaurant. Its apparent that they take a great deal of pride in their food, their staff, and their community. It's the little things that so often make or break an experience, and these folks put their hearts into the business. I sincerely hope that Woolly's is around for many years to come, and will be back next time I'm in the Black Hills.

Traveling through we decided to have dinner at Woolys and we were so happy we did. Its not the good food and prices that draw you in, although they they do have both, but this place just have more than that. We were welcomed and felt comfortable, it was interesting and unique and the views were amazing. We took dessert to go because it looked too amazing to pass up. Our waitress Katie was terrific, we thought she had been there for years she was so on top of everything but found out she was actually quite new. She was fabulous! I wish we encountered service like hers at every restaurant we dined. Thanks for making our visit to Hot Springs just that much better Woolys!

The buffalo steak was good, but they just didn't have more than a typical American diner for sides (baked potato, corn, green beans, rice, toast). It didn't match the quality of my buffalo steak. The green beans I ordered looked like they were heated up from a can. We had to serve our own salad and the walls on the booth, we were at, were dirty. The server was fine, but he kept coming back when I was chewing or gone. He also wasn't very graceful. I was expecting more for the price.

Seated by a lovely young man who told us the specials, he came over later to check on us which was sweet. Our waitress with the short blond hair was SUPER awesome for only her 3rd day on the job!! Food and drinks came fast and were really yummy! Definitely recommend their old fashioned and cinnamon roll cocktails! Some questions couldn’t be answered and the bartender had to come grab the cocktail list so our drinks could be made but as a waitress myself I appreciated their honesty! Maybe they could do with a bit more help from management to do their jobs even better but we had a great night. Thanks Woolly’s team!

Was difficult finding out whether they offered options to work with food sensitivities. The senitivities in our case is someone who cannot have raw fruits or vegetables, and someone with lactose intolerance. Food was average and I felt price didn't reflect that. Location is nice but both of us felt that the dinner we had was lacking. Bison steak was cooked as ordered but the seasoning was very heavy on one half of it. Wasn't what we had hoped it would be.

Surprisingly yummy at a small town. The salad bar is a plus, contents better than many that you can get in the US. Every dish shows some depth, like from someone who really put thoughts into the preparation.

overall the experience was ok, was a little disappointed. The flavors of the food were good, that being said I ordered a 12oz steak for $24 and got a slab of 1/2” in thick meat. ( put this on a roll and it’s a good steak sandwich, put it on a plate as a main course that’s just sad) Like the other reviewer who takes about his cowboy cut being thin mine was also thin. I asked my server if this was the way they came and I was told that all their cuts are like that and it was they way they make them all. (Owner I did what you recommended to the other guy, It changed nothing) That is sad, When you order a ribeye you expect thick l,juicy, and well cut. This was not and bring it up to my server was useless I was told that’s how they come. :(. Next issue was my server. Let’s just say he seemed like a nice kid but this is clearly not his calling. Please respect people’s personal space, and be respectfully of the customers. Really leaned in and got close to both of us when we ordered, and tried to take the plate my wife was still eating (like clearly and actively eating) Wanted to order something to drink with my meal (I was never asked so when he walked by I asked if I could get beverage) He said sure, walked away (now I’m confused) but shortly their after he came back with the bar tender to come take my drink order. The food came out fast, almost to fast like 5 min after ordering, but when you have a 1/2 thick meat

Great gluten free in a small town. Our waiter went out of his way and made sure we had a great experience. The prices were great for the food portions. I recommend the rib eye and loaded potato. All meals come with a good salad bar or soup. Nice views and atmosphere, however the tables were a little close.

Forgot what specials were when asked didn't tell us about salad bar when we got back from saladbar our meal was already at the table so when we were ready to eat our meal was cold. We had a short wait to sit down so we had a house Buffalo Stout beer. It was very good. Before we even finished we were seated. The hostess was very friendly and even apologized for the table being wet, she got a dry towel and dried it off. The waiter was also friendly, told us about the special, however we ordered the loaded French dip (mushrooms and onions) and French fries. It had the most meat I have ever had on a French dip and was very tasty. We would recommend this place to anyone passing by.

My son went with the buffalo burger and I had the buffalo steak. As you can clearly see from the pics I enjoyed my meal. The only thing that could have made it better is for them to offer sour cream with the potato. Road trip across country from Atlantic to Pacific is a trip to remember and I will definitely remember this place as a great taste of South Dakota!

I ordered the walleye. It was prepared with artichokes, cooked perfectly, and delicious. The salad bar had a variety of options. My wife ordered the ribeye, which we both thought was quite tough. That was very disappointing, considering the vast numbers of black Angus cattle we saw grazing in the area. She sent it back, and ordered the salmon, which was very good. The service was excellent, and the view of the nearby hills was welcome. Their local stout draft was full-bodied, an similar to most dark stout beers. We would recommend trying Woolys.

Probably the most consistent quality and service restaurant in hotsprings. Food is pretty good best salad bar in town. service is usually quite good. One comment, chicken fried steak typically has white or country gravy. Willie's uses brown gravy. It is stated on the menu but, servers say most people don't notice it and comment after they receive their meal. Should consider going to traditional way of preparing.

Excellent food, drinks were equal to those we had in Manhattan- superb! Our server Dee was engaging and helped us pick out the perfect desert. Bartender also came by a couple of times in a friendly manner. Our first time in Hot Springs.... We'll come again!!

Not impressed, my Salmon was overcooked and the chicken in my wife's chicken piccata was overcooked. The salad bar was excellent!

It was super busy but I meanit was about the only restraunt in the town. The food was good, expensive but fine. The desserts were great... They didnt have a dessert menu but instead a case of dessert, with no prices. You'll have to ask the server for prices. The salad bar was amazing!!

My favorite thing to do on a Friday? Go to Woolly's, order a glass of riesling and get the chicken dinner. It's one of those places that I'll always feel nostalgia for. So many great memories and friendships made at Woolly's! This is a great place for families because the menu is so diverse, too.
