Dined here for the first time this evening to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It will definitely not be the last time. Our waiter, Crittle, was amazing. He was friendly, extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was fine throughout the meal; and he did it in a manner that was not overbearing or intrusive. The hostess was very friendly. When we were leaving, she noticed we were taking pictures, and she came out to take some of our entire group. Our meal was excellently prepared by Chef Wes. I have some food allergies, and he went out of his way to make sure everything I had was safe for me to eat and specially cooked vegetables for me. It was a wonderful evening!

Usually a great experience the owners are a really nice. We didn't get our appetizers until after the meal came out. Had to send my lamb chops back so we could eat the appetizers. Very disappointed they put the lamb chops and the other two meals under the heat lamps not happy. But maybe I will try it again.

Take a walk on the wild side. The food here is fantastic! Tried bison, antelope, venison and all were tasty, smoky, grilled and delicious. Had roasted duck was crispy served with an orange sauce. Antelope was surprisingly tender, like eating a fine cut steak. My husband had kangaroo which he said was also tender and good flavor. Sides we're just as good as the meat. You will not be disappointed.

The Hunter plate was phenomenal - the venison was great, the Kangaroo was succulent and the Ostrich was melt in your mouth delicious. Made me want to chew 50 times like our Parents told us when we were young. As fantastic as our meal was, our server Randy was it's equal! Do yourself a favor and request him and if he makes a suggestion, go with it! The Owners Edmund & Renee are so welcoming and aim to please. It shows in their staff. Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I went for my Birthday dinner and it was really great!! The service was top of the line and our waiter was very friendly and helpful!! He made sure that my wife was taken care of with her special diet concerns which was very appreciated! The food was spectacular!! Mother's Day reservations today at the new location on Halton Road! Beautiful location, inside and out! Called one hour before we were to arrive and needed to add two to our party....no problem! Had a wonderful dinner at Saskatoons. The new location is a very nice hunting lodge style. It reminds me of the lodges in Glacier National Park. The food is always prepared well. My favorite is the halibut when they have it available. The bread with three butters is always hot and delicious. We also tried the bread pudding which was fabulous.

This establishment is phenomenal and second to none. Our server Phoenix was very informative and kept the humor up which was a nice mix. Renee greeted us upon our entrance and was more than inviting. The facility is that of a lodge and has that rustic look and feel throughout. The service was impeccable and the food was beyond reproach. Phoenix provided us with a very detailed overview of their menu and special items. He knew more than anyone would expect yet was welcomed. Visiting from out of state but we'll be back in the future.

In the food business, its easy and common to be mediocre. That's why I go to Saskatoon. They stand out because there is a focus on quality. Had a business dinner there Sept 9, and as is normal, food and service were excellent. Its pretty clear that mngt cares about the experience because while we had "Jon" as our official waiter (and he did a great job), I noticed that other staff, in the course of walking by, would continually ask how we were doing and if they could assist in any way. That behavior only happens if mngt empowers and directs them to do it. So my hat is off to everyone there. Already looking to find a way to make another visit. Thank you for a great evening.

Saskatoons is one of our very favorite local owned restaurants. The food and service are consistently great. We tried one of the special appetizers for the evening, New Zealand mussels. They were excellent!!!My husband enjoyed the bison steak which was topped with a red wine reduction. It was amazingly tender and delicious! My more traditional choice was the New York strip topped with blue cheese crumbles was very good, as well. We were celebrating my July birthday, so I couldn’t resist carrot cake for dessert. It’s served warm and is my favorite desserts at this restaurant. Saskatoons never disappoints!

The new Saskatoon building is beautiful and the meals way exceeded our expectations! All four of us loved the food, the atmosphere, and our server, Phoenix. Even the side dishes (included in the price!) were great! We chatted with Edmund and Renee Woo on the way out and they are very engaging. I really like that we weren’t rushed through our meal, which happens often in downtown Greenville restaurants. On the way out, I announced that I think I have a new favorite restaurant!

Saskatoon Steaks Fish and Wild Game restaurant resides in its own ecosystem, complete with a colorful water fountain, a garden, an intriguing landscape with herbal plants, and other features which create a unique and welcoming atmosphere before one enters the building. The building itself is a lodge-like structure that inspires an air of adventure. Reservations are welcomed, but not required. I had made a reservation for 6:00 on a Friday night. My wife and I were seated promptly upon our arrival. Instead of a single waiter or waitress, they have a service team concept. We were waited upon by Matt and Hallie. They both did an excellent job of being sure our every need was cared for without being intrusive. Matt took the time to explain the entree choices and made some good recommendations. We began with an appetizer that included grilled shrimp, chicken, and duck. It was excellent! I ordered the ostrich steak, complimented with potato wedges and vegetables. The ostrich was likely the most tender meat I have eaten. It was excellent! The potato wedges were very good. I was not particularly fond of the mixed vegetables. It was mostly whole green beans a little under cooked for my taste, but I know many people like them cooked that way. They were fine and I ate them all. My wife ordered the elk steak. It was also excellent! Both the elk and the ostrich were perfectly cooked. Dessert was a delicious carrot cake served warm. The owner, Edmund Woo introduced himself to me and inquired as to the quality of our food and experience. In a word, outstanding! Expect to pay a premium price for a premium experience. The bill for my wife and me was over $100.00. That included the sampler appetizer (chicken, shrimp, and duck), a side salad, two entrees, a dessert, and a coffee. It was well worth it!

This place is wonderful! I loved the smaller location, but this one is beautiful and much needed. They have something on the menu if you’re feeling adventurous or just wanna stick to your basics. Either way it’s very yummy. They strive to keep at least half of the offered veggies from their own patch, but sometimes they do run out. The portions are generous. The staff is super friendly and helpful if you just can’t decide. We don’t live in town, so we don’t get to go there as often...but try to when we have time. They also have a spacious catering room and patio if you wanted to host a party or wedding. I love this place and if you haven’t stopped by- I suggest you do! Although, depending on the night it’s best to get there or early or have a reservation. Seats fill up and some specialty menu items sell out.

We did not make a reservation but the bar was empty so we had dinner in the bar area. We spent a little over $150 on dinner for two people. The food was great but the service was suspect. The bartender was not interested in conversation with us but a nice older Caucasian man sat down at the bar and he seemed to have found plenty of things to talk about with him. I found that conversation to be ridiculous considering the way he described a gay man. He did some kind of fairy gesture. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. the waiter who served us our food was really thorough. If you have not tried it, go for the food because it was great. Maybe the bartender thought by looking at us, that he was not going to get a good tip or maybe he picks and chooses who he chats with or is friendly too but I'd never forget how stinky his service was and I'd never go back for that reason.

Highly recommend this place! I’m currently on a gluten/dairy/caffeine/alcohol free diet for 3 months, and they were incredibly accommodating with great alternatives. Carmon was a phenomenal waitress, and we hope to be in her table section next time we dine at Saskatoon!!

First trip back in a decade, since having kids, brought them, my parents, and my wife's parents to see the new location. It did not fail to live up to our memories of the original location. Our server, Ali, was great, keeping up with all 8 in our party, and making good recommendations, as well as being attentive to everyone. Everything from the alligator to the ostrich was dead on delicious. My daughter decided to split an entree with my mother-in-law, and it was brought out, already separated out into portions on two plates, one for each of them, which was unexpected and appreciated. We gorged ourselves, and still managed to stuff in the layered chocolate mousse cake, everything was fabulous. It is not an inexpensive place to dine, but worth every single penny. Not a single dish served failed to meet or exceed expectations. The only regret, is that no one at our table ordered whatever the flambe salmon dish was, that seemed to be going to every other table, it looked great. Can't wait for our next visit, definitely won't wait this long again.

One of my favorite restaurants in the country! Northwestern guy here so they not only have the stuff I grew up on like elk and venison, they have some exotics like gator, ostrich, and sturgeon! I got the special appetizer mussels and they were fantastic. The tomatoes added a nice tart taste to the garlic butter wine sauce. It's not just wild game and veggies. The entrees are paired very well with sauces and sides. I come here at least twice a trip, twice a year. Can't wait to come back.

First time here and can I just Say it was amazing. As soon as we walked in the customer service was superb. Kelly R was our waitress and she was very detailed with the drink/dinner/dessert menu. Being our first time here she described everything perfect to where we knew what item to pick. The ambiance was also great. Lights weren’t too dark, music wasn’t too loud. Saskatoon's is the place to go for GREAT food and wonderful service, the staff always greets with a warm welcome and friendly smiles. The Filet Mignon (my favorite) is always so fresh, juicy and delicious I go away smiling, my hunger satisfied and looking forward to the next time I can go. I've had the elk, yak, chicken, emu and other entrees that are equally as delicious!! If you've never been, try the sampler tray, your taste buds will thank you for it!!!! My wife and I returned for our annual anniversary meal at Saskatoon and once again left with smiles on our faces and our appetites satiated. The evening's fun started while heading to the restaurant from our car and having a humorous encounter with a couple of sociable Canadian geese who were greeting the arriving diners. Enjoyed gator bites appetizer followed by Cedar Salmon for my wife, while I had the ribeye. Finished it off with a slice of chocolate "moose" pie. Service by Elijah was excellent, and already looking forward to next April.

Awesome food with impeccable service! I don't know how but Phillips managed to remember all of our names! Quite impressive, given that we are not the only 5 ladies in the house in his section. Anyhow, if you are looking for outstanding steak, seafood and games- look no further! Saskatoon will satisfy all of your cravings on one plate. I dine out a lot but the moment you step into this restaurant, you sense the pride and integrity of the ownership of this beautiful restaurant.. They love what they do, and so does the staff! All the staff we encounter show a sense of enjoyment and the passion. Yes, they work to earn a living but you can tell they also love to be there. That says a lot!!! Aside from that beautiful dining area, they have a private banquet space that can easily hold any social events for over 100 people, seated dinner or cocktail party. Christmas party anyone? Anyhow, I will for sure go back for another treat at Saskatoon. What a fun and memorable experience!

After studying all of the locations in Greenville we selected Saskatoon to try something new. Perfect decision. We started out with the appetizer of Wild Game Sausages. They were perfectly cook and just the right amount of spicy. For the meal we ordered the prime rib medium and the ribeye medium rare. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the flavors were wonderful. My only regret is the I could not eat there every single day. The prime rib was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Better than any I have ever had at somewhere like Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. My dream job would be to be a taster there and grow fat eating there every day. Our waiter was Elijah. His service was impeccable. He was very knowledgeable about all of the menu. We had one comment about the steak and he immediately got the manager to see to our needs.

My wife and I stopped in last evening and all I can say is AWESOMELY GOOD. This was her first visit and the last time I visited Saskatoon was around 1998/1999 when I lived in Greenville in your old location off Haywood Road. We had taken a day trip down to Athens, GA from Charlotte and I thought this would be a great place to stop on our way home for supper. As always, it did not disappoint! The service was top notch, the food excellent and the atmosphere exceptional. I have no idea how they have maintained their excellent history of food preparation and service - but they have and even improved over the past 20+ years! We had an excellent time and savored every bit! My wife had the Cedar Plank Salmon and I went with the Hunters Platter. Neither is to miss when you come here! This is our favorite restaurant in Greenville. Every dish I've tried was great. Best Moscow Mule I've ever tasted. My husband usually has some kind of red meat. And it's always delicious. The mixed grill (lamb, quail, beef) is always good. Tonight I had plank cooked salmon, mixed veggies, and roasted potato wedges with a triple chocolate mousse pie for dessert. Yum! Service is excellent and the staff operates like a family. They have their own herb garden and green house so very fresh ingredients. It is a family run restaurant; the owners work there and really care about your experience. Prices are reasonable for a high end restaurant. Be sure to make reservations. They also have space for large parties.

We took my father in law to Saskatoon for an early Father's Day dinner and to announce the gender of our baby to our family. We were excited to tell our family that we are expecting a little boy after 8 years of infertility. My wife and I have been to Saskatoon before but our family had not. Honestly, this experience was much different than the last time we visited. When walking in, it automatically became extremely loud when all of the waiters were crowded by the door/entrance area, clapping loudly. When being seated, we had a very difficult time hearing our waitress because of the clapping that happened every other word that she spoke. It was frustrating and yet she continued to talk through it, only for us to tell her more than once that we couldn't really hear her. We even had to get her to tell us the specials again about 10 minutes later once all of the clapping was done. The alligator and bacon wrapped scallops appetizers were good, however the scallops really didn't have much flavor. Everyone was pleased with their entrees, however my wife did say that the campfire chicken that she ordered was dry and the carrots that came on the side were basically raw. She said that she didn't want to order anything else because it was extremely crowded so she knew it would take a long time to wave someone down and have something remade, we didn't see the waitress that often and everyone else was either almost done eating or halfway done eating. She took a few bites of everything and put it all in a to-go container, only to toss it in the trash when we got home because the chicken had dried out way too much for even our cat to eat it. We did sit without getting drink refills multiple times, but eventually the glasses were filled by random people. We ordered two slices of the chocolate brownie mousse dessert, which we probably could have ordered just one for our table of 5, because they are so big. The brownie was rather hard on the bottom but the mousse part was great. On a few occasions, both my father in law and I said that it was really difficult to focus on our table and our conversation because it was extremely loud around us. My wife had to pass around ultrasound pictures for them to see the gender because no one was really able to hear much. From time to time, some people were louder than others, but we all pushed through it, I paid the tab and we left. For $200+, the food, for the most part, was worth the money but the experience was not worth it. If I am going to spend that much money on a nice dinner, I would expect to be able to hear the person across the table from me or even be able to carry on a conversation with them, have a full glass at all times and have a piece of chicken that is perfectly cooked and not chicken jerky. I don't think that we will be back any time soon.

The building is amazing. The staff was very friendly. Had alligator, buffalo, dove and emu as appetizers. Delicious, buffalo ribeyes and sirloins for dinner. They were great sirloins were more medium rare than medium. Although our server was very friendly, he forgot almost everything we would ask for and return again to check and had to be reminded about bread beer etc. We had 2 desserts the chocolate mousse and bread pudding. Both were fantastic. If the server had not forgotten several things 8t would be 5 stars. I do recommend going, we had a great dinner.

Saskatoon is the best place to celebrate just about anything tbh. My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary and I'll make sure to celebrate more here. First ever place I've ever actually felt satisfied with food and service. Julio was really nice and informative with everything, we really felt like we're taken care of with how he treated us. Five star to him too. The food was sooooo great, we tried almost everything for the appetizer, my boyfriend couldn't stop talking about it. I had lambs and he had antelope and we both loved it. The price is worth it if you really like a quality place to celebrate something in your life.

Wow! Still amazing each time I visit. I have had the pleasure of eating wild game in South Africa and Denver, CO, Saskatoon is right up there with them. It is satisfying to know that this restaurant in our community. With the help of Matt and Julio, I had the Elk, Kangaroo and New Zealand Stag and my fiancee had the Sturgeon. Man oh man, I cannot express to you how great the experience was for us. We had New Zealand Mussels for our appetizer and was not disappointed. We have never seen mussels so big. Even the butters were great (blueberry butter never had before but LOVE). Most importantly, the atmosphere here is great. No pretentiousness, no haughtiness, just genuine people making you feel genuinely at home. To the owners-Thank you to you and your team. One Love!

I gave my husband a choice of 3 places to pick from for a date night and boy was I happy he picked this one. It sounds like their menu rotates quite a bit and the waitstaff did an amazing job remembering all the specials and things due to change. I apologize that I do not remember the exact names of everything we had but I'm doing my best. We both had a beer to go with dinner. I had the house hefeweizen and the man had the red ale. I liked mine a lot but the red was a bit too dark and hoppy for my taste, but we were both happy with out choices.The bread was out of this world and reminds me of something I had only had the pleasure of enjoying in a restaurant now closed in CT. It came with plain, honey, and blueberry butters, all of which were wonderful. For dinner the man got the ribeye with golden potatoes and opted for the blue cheese bacon crumble melted on top. It was cooked perfectly medium and melts in your mouth with a good sear on the outside. I got the 3 meat option that has varying choices. It included venison, kangaroo, and ostrich. I am a huge fan of venison (used to live in WI where the deer are the same size as the ones they were talking about) and was still blown away. I was excited to try the other two. I believe described the kangaroo as Christmas in my mouth because it has an almost gingerbread taste to it (could have been a bit from the sauce), and the ostrich was really good too. The mashed potatoes give my grandma a run for her money. I have seen other reviews stating that the food isn't seasoned to their taste, but I think the point is to enjoy the meet for what it is here. It doesn't need to be masked with anything and is cooked really well, but a touch of salt and pepper did help. It wasn't a cheap date, but I wasn't expecting it to be and very much enjoyed my evening here.

Saskatoon is a great atmosphere for relaxing and trying some unique foods. We've had gator, lamb, bison, ostrich, quail, venison, mussels, kangaroo, and several other dishes and have enjoyed each one! The service is also top quality! We substituted one of the meats on the "Hunter's Platter," and our order came out wrong. The staff quickly corrected the mistake in a satisfactory way that did not disrupt our evening. Enjoy!

The ambience is great and rustic. Also the bar area . But of all the good recommendations of the foot here, I didn't notice anything. We had the meet cutter 2 steaks cut off right behind each other and got 2 different in shape and strength back! All 4 dishes were swapped with the side dishes. For the money, it was not worth the visit. There are better places for a good steak.

We had the pleasure of dining at Saskatoon for the first time last week and were so impressed. Our server, Randy, was absolutely incredible. He was polite, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I had the NY Strip with bacon and blue cheese and my husband tried the Huntersman Platter with venison chop, kangaroo, and ostrich. Both of our dishes were delicious and well-portioned. This is my wife and I’s go to “date night”, celebration, or “we’ve got a little extra money tonight” restaurant! Renee and Edmund are great and we have come to consider them friends. The food is always amazing! I’m an adventurous eater and love the unusual options that are always seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service is perfection also. Their training, staffing, and management systems seem to be very well-done. I never have to ask for anything except a to-go box, everything shows up at your table at exactly the right time and you never feel rushed. The wait-staff are extremely knowledgeable about every item on the menu and the specials. We’ve never had a bad meal here. If you’re unsure where to start I would recommend the elk or huntsmans platter, my wife would recommend the shrimp and scallops (best scallops either of us have ever had), and we would both recommend the bread pudding if you have any room left. Great people, atmosphere, food, and service!

My husband and I had our first official date here in 2004 and have been going back as regulars ever since. The owners are always there working wherever needed and are so friendly and welcoming. They have had some of the same waitstaff for I would say over 10 years which is unheard of in the restaurant industry. We love those familiar faces like Carmen & Randy! The set apart above the service is The Food! Just incredible! Unique and fresh with incredible pairings of ingredients. Super high quality restaurant in food and service without a stuffy feel. The new location has been done perfectly to bring the old familiar look (for those of us who loved the old lodge feel) with a brilliant upgrade (that is absolutely beautiful)! We live in Charleston now which is a food mecca of SC but we make it a point to get to Saskattoons a few times a year.....it is worth the drive!

Absolutely perfect dining experience! This is the first time my husband and I have been to the new location for dinner and were thrilled to see that Saskatoon not only retained their great food and service but actually managed to raise their game (pun intended)! Our server Phoenix was wonderful, knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. The atmosphere is gorgeous!! The new location ahas a beautiful lodge feel but still feels very upscale and elegant. And the food... incredible. My husband had the prime rib and I got the Hunter’s Sampler (on special) with stag, kangaroo and ostrich. We got the alligator tail (also on special) to start and the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. We had a couple of cocktails at the bar before dinner and the service and atmosphere were great there as well! This is definitely not a hidden gem - the place was completely booked - according to the hostess, but they managed to fit us in and we are so grateful! It was a wonderful night.

With a little bit of effort, I think this place could be consistently 5 star, but my visit just had a few issues. The staff was amazing, and did a great job with refills and table touches! The atmosphere is incredibly sophisticated and inviting! The herb gardens in the landscaping are such a nice little touch, and the fireplace was nice after a good meal! I also wound up eating a phenomenal lemon pepper salmon, although it was a replacement for what I ordered. Which brings me to the few issues. The parking is probably the most apparent and difficult to fix. We had to park on some grass over a curb, but it looks designed that way? The outside aesthetic is beautiful, but it wasn't kind to my car. I wasn't impressed by what I ordered, the lamb bbq, although as I said they replaced that and were amazingly gracious. The manager came to check in and was very genuine. The smallest thing is that the woven chairs were a bit uncomfortable and in disrepair, but they seemed to be phasing them out. So overall a great experience, and one I think they could perfect with just a little more attention to detail. I'll definitely try this place again when the situation calls for it!

We went last night for our anniversary. We had the alligator bites for our appetizer, they were so good. I had the elk sirloin, it was delicious. My husband had the hunter’s special (elk sirloin, kangaroo, and New Zealand red stag), he loved it. We shared a piece of mud pie for dessert. Everything about our experience was fantastic. My husband and I celebrate a lot of occasions at Saskatoon. It's one of our favorite spots when we want excellent food and service! Our last trip to Saskatoon was July 19, and we thought we would get RANDY as our server because he we are normally seated in his area. Randy is ALWAYS awesome, so we were a little concerned when we realized that we forgot to request him. Well, we weren't disappointed for long, because MATT was amazing as well! He was knowledgeable and very polite. He made suggestions outside of our "usual" orders, and once again- we had a WONDERFUL dining experience at Saskatoon! We hope to see both Randy and Matt there on our future visits! Oh, and the owners area always friendly and personable. They remember us each time we return! That goes a long way!
