We had a large group in an almost empty restaurant. Food was brought out inconsistently; some of the kids got their food first while others' had to be requested and one of the adult's meals was missed. All of the meat was ordered medium or medium-well and came out still bleeding with the exception of the kids meal burger which was overcooked. My BBQ BLT "wrap" was nothing more than a salad with almost no sauce. Checks were incorrect and servers did not earn the 20% gratuity automatically applied. We will not be returning.

Quiet dinner with good friends. Over 1300 wines to choose from. Perfect pace. Our waitperson was always there when we needed him, yet never intrusive. All four different dinners were superb. Great experience.

We arrived for the early bird dinner and were treated to excellent service. Our group enjoyed 4 different choices from the early bird menu which included a complimentary glass of wine. Although no substitutions are allowed according to the menu the waitress offered to substitute a pinot for the chardonnay which sometimes gives our friend a headache. The food was excellent including the salmon which most restaurants seem to over cook. We were still there for the first set of a fine jazz trio. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. It was quiet even when crowded. Excellent value and a pleasant evening. We have dined there before and will return.

What a great deal is the Early bird specials. For $14.95 you get soup or salad, glass of wine and a wonderful entree. The food was terrific, service was great with Kelly and the ambience is the best. You have to be there between 5-5:45 to get this special dinner menu which had about 10 choices. Wonderful find and we definately will be back. Highly recommended. We just stumbled upon it on the way home from golf.

The BEST scallops I've ever had!! Cooked to perfection and, as if that wasn't enough, they're served with Red Fish's lobster mac and cheese! There are many other tasty items on the menu to satisfy surf and turf taste buds alike. I'd also recommend their Key Lime pie! Service was very friendly and they described the menu selections well. They also have a very good wine selection by the glass or bottle.

Food was okay but service was terrible. We ordered softshell crab and calamari for starters, crab was good but calamari was heavily breaded. Then we ordered brick chicken and grouper for dinner, that was okay. All on all in the whole process server never bothered to check that why we didn't eat calamari or not boxing it to go. She just dropped the check and thanked us for coming. Never to go again. Thank you

The food is consistently good. We had the special cobia with etouffe and rice. It was outstanding. The one comment we would make is that the service the last two times we have been there was not up to par. Waiters seem to busy to provide good service. Should look at adding one or two more.

Jazz was nice. Lots of wine to pick from. Steak was overcooked and should have sent it back for correction but my sister had her child so I opted to eat as is. Truffles fries were almost soggy, no crisp to them. Asparagus tasted fresh but not prepared with much flavor. Not worth the price for this visit. Date night might be better I dont know.

Some loud conversations were going on at a table nearby. Looked like they were getting busy for dinnertime. Open Table reservation for 7pm worked great for us.

Outstanding food - and don't be afraid to order the steak or ribs, they are *the best* ! It's not surprising that this and the Old Oyster Factory are owned by the same people - they have it figured out, you won't be disappointed at either of these great restaurants, I guarantee it.

This restaurant was a favorite of mine, unfortunately , it has in my opinion gone down hill. Dinner last week was fair, so I tried lunch a few days later to see if any better. No such luck it was worse. I had to send back food. Seafood not fresh. Asked if there was a new cook? Yes, been there about 3-4 months. I used to see the Restaurant full and on a Friday night only two other tables. My concern is business is down and no longer getting fresh ingredients . I do not mind paying the price if the food is good. In addition to freshness of food being a concern, I felt that the experience was no longer the gourmet food i loved to enjoy over the last 3 years? Hope it returns to the food I so enjoyed, because it is a lovely spot for location and view to spend time at.

I had great hopes for this place. When i walked in the smell of old fish surprised me. The menu was pricey(40$ny strip). The appetizers were good . the service was weak. i ordered the grouper because i love grouper and what came out was a dry old 35 dollar piece of flavorless fish that tasted like cod. I was sad and disappointed somebody dropped the ball back there in the kitchen. Not impressed in the food or the service. i wish i could have left a good review sorry guys.

For all the talk it’s not cracked up to be what folks would have you think. Salt salt salt. They use a cook not a chef. The cook uses salt. And more and more salt. How about salted butter ? Maybe some nice spice and no salt. Nope. Just salt.

Food was excellent service was marginal. Arrived for the early bird dinner. Hostess started to seat us next to a large party. Declined that table and requested a quiet corner table. Three different servers waited our table. No one even offered to refill the water glass. Hostess then seated an elderly couple right next to us when the restaurant was almost empty. They talked so loudly that it ruined the atmosphere of what should have been a quiet evening. Clearly management doesn't properly train their staff. I will not return anytime soon.

I have not been to Redfish for a couple of years. I did dine there last night and found it highly disappointing. My biggest disappointment was in the overall service of the operation. Starting from the hosting staff to service of server, food runner and busperson. Our overall reaction was one of tired employees going through motions in a very gratuitous manner. Never a welcoming attitude nor appreciation of our visit. Food was prepared well with thought to presentation yet not hot, plates were not even warm. Overall If I was to pay the prices of Redfish, I know of a few other establishments that would be better.

App and salad special were good but we got the sea bass and shrimp and grits and found ourselves underwhelmed. The udon noodles under the sea bass were fettuccine noodles coated in over reduced sauce while the shrimp in the shrimp in grits were very smelly and probably peaked about 2-3 days ago. The number of elderly diners should of tipped us off. Won't be returning.

If you're a foodie, this is a good option. The atmosphere is dark with "candle-like" lighting so it creates a really nice feel. The average entree runs $15-30. Also being a wine retailer you can explore their shelves of wine and pick a bottle - they try to keep 1 of each bottle cold in the back they can bring out for you to drink with your meal. I got a lobster macaroni which was out of this world. I got it as a side item and wish I had gotten a double portion as my main meal. Several people got the "Red Fish" entree which was fish covered in BBQ sauce. Overall, we weren't very impressed with this dish. However the lamb sliders were FANTASTIC. You can also purchase wine at retail prices here.

Once again we have a wonderful dining experience. One of our favorite places on the island. Jeff and his staff always go out of their way to give great service. I always look forward to the delicious and creative soups they offer and have never been disappointed. Fresh salads and vegetables start you off right, but the entrees are the stars. Latin ribs to die for, coconut shrimp with a wonderful sweet spicy glaze, salmon topped by a dill sauce with capers, grilled sea bass and so much more. They also have the best early dining deal on the island. Keep up the good work.

Perfect for kiddos -AND parents who value a wonderful wine list and great food selection! We come to HHI regularly- but had never tried Redfish because we were saving it only for “date night” - then one night we tried it with our kiddos -and went twice. For kiddos -super patient staff, handing out new crayons and coloring sheets the minute you show up! (And great kids menu). For the parents -Caymus, Duckhorn, and the kind of whisky that my husband drinks (I don’t know them but he seemed happy) and delicious food -5 steps above the normal “family” restaurants. (And we loved Fran, who took care of us) :) Also, live jazz on certain nights -it was great! Go for a date night or go with the kiddos if you’re over the typical “family” places. Make it a part of your trip. You won’t be disappointed.

Ordered the black bean cake dinner. The tomato rice was cold and tasted like Rice a Roni. The black bean cakes had been arranged on the plate burnt side down. Very disappointed after hearing so many good things about this restaurant. The server and whom I assume to be the manager we're very apologetic and offered other options however at this point my companion was halfway through her meal and so I had nothing.

The epitome of five stars! This place was classy and homey. From the very start, the wine was pristine. Also highly recommend the blue crab dip and fried oysters as appetizers. Waiter was very knowledgeable of every single item on the menu, even down to describing the taste of the sauces. Our entrees were succulent in taste and hearty in size. The grilled mahi was on special, pictured here, with jasmine rice and mango salsa with steamed green beans.

TL;DR: fly in glass; fly in replacement glass; centipede and something long and green resembling grass in the third attempt, plus brown stains on another glass rim; crusted old food on plate rim. Read on for the rest. Decided to take my family here while on vacation. Started out ok, but we soon realized there was a fly in one of the water glasses. When we mentioned it to a server, she gave us a new glass, but there was still a fly in the water. Different fly? Same fly? Not sure which is worse. I'm really not one to be overly judgmental of restaurants, having worked in many, but this lack of care prompted me to look at things with a more critical eye. Upon closer inspection, my plate was crusted with old food under the rim. My son's glass had brown (lipstick? hard to say) marks under the edge. We mentioned the repeat fly to another server, who procured more water for us. Out of the pitcher into my glass came half of a rotting centipede and a 3-4" stringy thing that might have been grass, plus a few random dark objects that I presume were also centipede parts. I had finished my meal before seeing most of this; my entire family stopped eating at that point. The second server replaced our water yet again, but the only thing we continued to consume was the wine, as it was opened in front of us. We saw the first server next and asked if she knew about the centipede; she was surprised, indicating either she was feigning ignorance or the other server had not communicated any issues to her beyond the fly (flies?). She offered up free dessert, and we just asked for the check. No manager came to speak with us, nor did anyone offer more than a cursory apology--which made us question if this was perhaps not an unusual occurrence. When the check came it had a 15% "VIP" discount. This restaurant is highly ranked on the island, and was recommended by our relatives, who are long-time property owners in Sea Pines. All in all, an appetite-turning experience that was compounded by a poorly handled finish. We will not be eating there again, and will make certain no one we know does.

We loved the fact that they had a grilled fresh fish & veggie option for kids since most restaurants only serve fried fast food on their kids menus. We also both ordered the beet salad which was delicious. Service was attentive & friendly. Walked right in at 6pm and didn't have to deal with a wait. Great experience--definitely recommended!

I went there last month for lunch with a group of 10 ladies. We all ordered something different from the menu and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was great -- all the food arrived at the same time -- not easy to do with a larger group. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and I am looking forward to ordering it again. The flavor was fantastic and the meat was chopped finely and very tender.

Incredibly good dinner. Great bread, shrimp and lobster burger is unique and amazing, the mahi mahi special was great, and the chocolate peanut butter pie was incredible. Huge wine selection. Fabulous service. A wonderful experience.

The atmosphere was great, the food and drinks were easy over priced. No sweet tea in SC is a mortal sin. The blue crab dip was amazing. I would recommend Road house in Beaufort.

Food was very good. Server was less than friendly, you expect a little more personable service when paying the prices they charge for entrees. Most unfriendliest waiter we had our entire trip. Never asked how meals are, nor a thanks folks, hope you had a good evening.
