Here you will be able to see all the information of real people like you who purchase the products and services of Low Country Fish Camp (Fish Shop) in the state of South Carolina.
As of day the business has a rating of 4.7 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 988 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is almost the highest, and it's based on a very high number of scores, so we can think that the assessment is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to place evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Fish Shop belongs to the category of Seafood restaurant.
Great place and food! Staff was polite and helpful! Lots of food for the money! However, the pic nice table style eating does it make it hard to sit. Especially for woman in a dress unless they sit on the end. Good thing I washed my clothes and wasn't wearing my Kilt!
Great food, great service, good prices. I will be back soon.
I'd rather give it 4.5 stars, but that's not really an option. The service and atmosphere we're great (just make sure you know what your getting in to). The food was excellent. I felt it was very good (but not great); the rest of my party loved it. Overall, well worth a visit.
I remember when this place was a regular food restaurant and then run out of business. Then a Soul Food restaurant was opened and in less than a year it was closed. Then about 6 months later this place was opened and I pass daily on my way to work and later on to return to my home and notice more people there and cars parked. I Google it and see good rating and give it a try. And I could said the food is very good. The turtle soup I never had it before and it was good. If you like Seafood then this is your spot to stop. Good food, good atmosphere and the spot is just unique.
Great place where the locals meet! Servers seemed more like friends. Pleasant atmosphere. Food & portions way above expectations!
Awesome fried shrimp. The restaurant is really small but has some outside seating and areas to relax. Staff is very friendly.
Food and service were awesome!
We sat at the bar and the bartender, I think her name was Rachel was excellent. Actually everyone was. The food was delicious. I got shrimp and scallops and my husband got flounder and scallops. We also had clam chowder which was wonderful. Definitely will return!!
We have been several times and they never disappoint. The prices are great for what you are served. Looking forward to my first oyster roast . In fact if i want oysters i dont think id go anywhere else.
Food was hot and fresh! Large portions and great service
Very good food awesome outdoor seating!
Excellent service and amazing food. Definitely will go ba k.
We found this hidden gem by mistake & very glad we did! By far the best food in SC we've eaten thus far, we ordered more then we should have but couldn't stop everything looked so good! The staff was so down to earth, humble & amazing! We WILL definitely need going back every chance we get!!!
Food, drinks atmosphere and service was amazing! Our server, Erica was super sweet and welcoming! So were a couple other employees (but didn't get their names).
A very good experience the food is excellent Scale 1 to 10 A 10 and a 1/2
Food and services are great. I ordered the fried flounder and shrimp with moma Gina beans and rice. The place and atmosphere is small cozy and casual dress.
small seafood place with mostly fried food but so dang good! High in price but worth it if you get friendly service, the chef/owner is very good with creating dishes, cute decor , clean bathroom, and a stocked bar. Worth checking out
Seafood here is TOP NOTCH !!! Small restaurant so get there early.
There fried pickles is so good. Go during happy and get them then. I've been in here multiple times and everytime is great. They're always so kind and the food is amazing.
Great food, very friendly staff Worth the trip
Delicious af. Fresh okra fried. Good camp rolls a must have!
By far the best spot to eat in Summerville. The food is very fresh, the staff is friendly. Its tight sitting, but just relax and enjoy the great fresh food.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere! Ordered the fried scallop platter. They were very large and melt in your mouth! Very generous portions! Fries are amazing!
Delicious...
Always delighted when we come here. I brought my mom here for the first time tonight and she couldn't be more impressed with how clean the restaurant was, how nice the staff was, and how good the food was. She wants to go again tomorrow. Best hush puppies ever
Got the fried shrimp platter and it was delicious. Only reason not 5 stars is how cramped the place is. Parking is pretty much impossible so ride together if your going with a group. The seating isn't very comfortable either so I would definitely reccomend the food, but I highly suggest just picking it up and enjoying it at home.
Food was fantastic. Service was great. You don't leave hungry!
Totally worth the drive to Sommerville from the Charleston metro area. Has the feel of an authentic low country eatery from a bygone era with modern eats and drinks in addition to pimento cheese and plenty of fried fish! We chose the blackened and grilled versions but were jealous of the diners around us who were clearly less uneasy with cholesterol concerns. Dog-friendly outdoor dining options, too.
OMG!! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Everything we had was topshelf: grouper bites - yum yum; seared scallops - we thought we had died and gone to heaven - melt in your mouth! And no skimpy servings. If you go away hungry from this place it's your fault. And Matt -- you made the night for us. Only regret - we can't get there more often since we live in NC. Do you deliver? LOL
Food and service are amazing. Loved it.
Love this place...Please try the mac and cheese...automatic
Great local freash seafood at a good price!!
First time visiting... Great cuisine and atmosphere.... Service was good but food took a very long time to be delivered.....
Great fresh seafood. Relatively limited menu keeps it that way. Conscientious and friendly wait staff.
Great food and service...go early
Great food better service.
Delicious seafood. It's off the beaten path but totally worth trying
One of the best seafood places we have eaten since we moved to the Lowcountry! Great entrees, drinks, and desserts! Highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious food, more than you expect, and service was wonderful. Will definitely be going back.
Food was excellent. A bit crowded, had to share a table with 3 other families but everybody got along. Service was fantastic
Very yummy food...Our waiter was nice, and service fast.
First time going here and I've always heard great things! It lived up to the rumors! Absolutely delicious!!! Got a shrimp po boy and it was loaded with shrimp! Will definitely come back! Our waitress was really great!
Was a first timer and was definitely not disappointed.
Was there on Friday and had to wait 45 minutes. Once food was served I didn't understand why wait time was so long when food wasn't that great. I ordered Flounder and could smell that has been frozen for awhile. Fries was cold. Yes, I guess people was there for beer.
Food was excellent. I had the scallop platter, seared, cooked perfectly; my hubby had the seafood platter, fried. They included fries, slaw, and hushpuppies. All were great and plentiful. But know this is Low Country FISH CAMP. We were sitting on the plastic enclosed patio. There aren't a lot of tables and the temperature outside was 59 degrees. I wasn't cold, but I wasn't warm either. I might not go if the temperature is in the 40s.
Excellent food ! Excellent service !! Just be prepared for funky parking lol, but worth the effort ! Fast friendly service and great food !!
Delicious food and nice staff. Rustic atmosphere with a small inside area but plenty of outside seating both in the screened in area and in the open and covered area. Note that inside you sit on high benches at communal tables. I really enjoy the blackened catfish and hush puppies. Just the right amount of spice for me.
This place is Awesome! The food was outstanding. I had the oyster po boy and my husband had the crab cakes with sweet potato tots and collards. For an appetizer we had the grouper bites and camp rolls- oh my goodness. It was all soooo delicious, and the service was great also. The manager came by and spoke to us. Which was very nice. We will definitely be back!!! All around great experience.
The food is great and the price is right. You get more than enough to eat. I had the seafood platter and it was enough for two days. I will definitely be going back.
I had the popcorn shrimp lunch special with fries and cole slaw for $11.00. Food was great.
Outstanding food! They do a great job with seafood. A quaint, hidden gem.
Great food and great atmosphere! Love this place!
Everything I had on my first visit was excellent. Hush puppies, seared scallops with parmesan mac and cheese and Old Bay fries, tried some blackened grouper, and also tried the homemade (owner's specialties) key lime pie and orange creamsicle pie. Not a single thing disappointed, and the service was excellent.
It was ok. Over priced in my opinion. A kids meal should never cost 9 dollars. And I paid extra for a different side and it was left out of my to go bag. When I called, they said I could come get my but that was all. It was very inconvenient
The food and drinks here are always so good. Seating is pretty limited, so plan to wait a bit on a crowded night. The outside seating is really nice and there is cornhole to keep you entertained while you wait. The hush puppies are delicious and so are the camp rolls!
Always delicious. Great desserts too. Don't miss out!
Great Little fish camp out of the way good food
Hallelu!! I'm from New England and know seafood, this place is wicked awesome! I would highly recommend going, at least once maybe four times a week... Our server was great (Shout out to Mitchell
THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!! I LOVED EVERYTHING!! YOU DEFINITELY HAVE TO TRY THE AHI TUNA NACHOS! OUR SERVER WAS AMAZING, IM SORRY I DONT REMEMBER YOUR NAME, IT WAS A DUDE, HIS NAME STARTED WITH M AND HE WAS WORKING THE OUTDOOR SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT LAST NIGHT 4/9. IF YOU KNOW WHO IM TALKING ABOUT, HIM AND YOUR AMAZING KITCHEN STAFF DESERVE A PAT ON THE BACK AND EXTRA INCENTIVE FOR BEING SO AMAZING!:) WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH EVERYONE AT LOW COUNTRY FISH CAMP!!
Went first time for b day. Loved everything. Will be returning. Go early. Limited seat, parking
First visual impression was this is a hole in the wall, but decided to give it a try anyway. I am so glad I did. The food was exceptional and the service was quick. Our server took great care to advise my family of 7 on food selection to fit dietary needs. We left full and happy to have experienced Low Country Fish Camp and await our next opportunity to dine here.
Great fish in one of Summerville's little gems
This is the most delicious fish restaurant! Apps and dinners were all delicious. Fried, blackened or seared, it was well cooked, tasty, and fresh. Cute outdoor seating and waiting.
Great food! Place is a bit small but you will get great customer service and good food!
Cool little restaurant. It was crowded when we got there, was told we'd have to wait about an hour, but only ended up being around 20-30 minutes. Wait staff is super friendly and helpful. I cant really comment on the food (I dont eat seafood) but my chicken plate was great, and my family seemed to really enjoy their seafood! We had the pecan pie for dessert and it was totally worth it.
Fried oysters were very good as was my side, a ton of fried okra. My husband's side was collard greens and loved them. Great meal.
Love this place. We walk in, they know us, we get our usual seats and drinks and then enjoy excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
Delicious food! BEST crabcakes ever. Great service and awesome folks there. Well worth the drive from Columbia. Can't wait to return with friends for dinner Highly recommend.
The food was very good. Try the Camp Rolls. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth the trouble. Two thumbs up!!
All the freshness of a fish camp with the classy touch of New South cuisine. Well worth the drive.
The food was good, but the service was not so great. Said they didn't have chicken tenders for adults....kids only. We offered to pay for an adult meal, but the waitress was pretty rude about it. Long story short, we got chicken tenders and they were delicious, but it was a hassle.
OMG!!! I love everything about this place! While visiting Summerville with my husband and our friends we stumbled upon this little piece of heaven. The food was amazing, fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Low Country Fish Camp gets my highest recommendation!!! Do yourself a favor and stop in for a wonderful dining experience!!!
If you can find this tiny treasure "nestled in the woods" ,conquer your parking woes & keep your appetite at bay..VICTORY will be your reward. The portions are generous, food comes to you hot & the servers are pleasant . The 1st pic is Seafood Platter: I personally like a little more seasoning in my batter's but theirs is light & tasty. The scallops well tender & succulent. The flounder flaky with the right amount of crunch. The oysters were clean & perfect. The 2nd pic is Flounder platter. The hushpuppies a bit thicker than I usually eat. Go & Enjoy some "low country " eats.
I really don't want to say it is a great place because it will get crowded. It is my favorite seafood restaurant in Charleston. Grouper bites are amazing.
Found this spot close to where we were staying up Summerville, and we're very pleased with the local seafood experience. We started off with the Grouper bites with a jalapeno tartar sauce that was flavorful with a kick. The breading and seasoning on the bites we're good all on its own. For our main entrees, we had Blackened Scallops, with White Cheddar Mac and cheese, with Hush Puppies and cole slaw. The scallops were FANTASTIC-no tartar sauce needed! The Mac and cheese was flavorful, but a little runny; could have been meltier or more creamy. The Cole slaw was too dry and not worth your time. My wife got the shrimp and tasso creamed grits, and that was the highlight of the show. Comes in a big mixing bowl full with grits and an impressive number of medium sized shrimp that were flavorful as well, but the blend of the shrimp and grits, with the hints of tasso ham, really complimented each other. It's enough for two meals, so you really hey you're money's worth with this dish! I give the rating I did because our server wasn't particularly helpful in giving menu suggestions, nor going over their daily specials, which I overheard another waiter giving another table that could've swayed me to select a different meal. There was no menu mentioned of these daily specials, so that could be a piece of improvement the restaurant could take from this review. Otherwise, we loved the experience and would recommend if you're in the mood for some seafood in Summerville.
Amazing. Just amazing. Small space, but worth it.
Low Country Fish Camp is the best seafood restaurant in Summerville. The service is amazing, and there is so much attention to details. Wait staff is very courteous! Prices are worth the experience! Need to take reservations!
costly broke down red lobster lol!!!
My family and I went here for the first time today. We loved it!! The food is a little pricey, BUT it was a lot of quality food! Well worth it! Scallops and oysters, even fried, melts in your mouth, and they are huge! We will definitely be going back. We've taken home almost half of our orders. And the service was amazing!
So let’s start by saying that this isn’t my first visit but will definitely be my last. While the food is good, the service that my family and I received is NOT WORTH IT! I understand having to wait until all parties are here to be seated. But when I ask about ordering from the bar so my daughter can snack while we wait. The answer is no. Then for me to go to the bar myself the answer is still no. I should have went with my gut at this point to leave. But I stayed. Then we sit down .. and are told by the waitress that they would charge us gratuity since there were six people in our party. One of the six was a ONE YEAR OLD CHILD. That was it. You have ridiculous rules and you’ve lost my business and all the people I’ve referred. Talk about a way to ruin my birthday dinner. The only bright spot to this BS was the amazing hostess who connected with my daughter over softball ball. She was probably the only reason I calmed down while we waited.
Best fried shrimp ever! Great place for everyone in the family with relaxed atmosphere and great service.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Wonderful seafood in a porch setting. Big portions with a low price. Your paying for quality food & not an expensive setting. So if you value the taste more than fancy tables... then you will love this place. Weve been there twice so far & cant wait to go again.
Fresh cooked every thing was good. Great. Yes flounder yes. Great
Great little place, the food is fresh and delicious. My husband loves to go here and we really like the staff!
Great food great service no A/C but it was a " cooler " night (82) . I got the fisherman's feast and couldn't finish. I tried but no success. Definitely try this place out . I will be back .
Great seafood. Cool eclectic restaurant with still a laid back country feel. Very, Very nice people
Front entrance has beautiful tall wooden tables with benches. It is Very small with a bar. The kitchen is in the center of the building and serves both the front entrance area and a screen porch with tables in the back. The food was excellent. Good portions. I was impressed. They offer take out. We had a 30 minute wait for food. They offer beer and wine, but no liquor drinks. I had sweet tea. Noise level is high, but tolerable. They seem to be very organized with updated computer that had seating chart and orders that were being filled. Prices are reasonable. The kitchen staff was very busy here. Highly recommend. They beat other seafood restaurants!!
We enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent. We had grits and shrimp egg rolls, grouper bites, and fried pickles as appetizers. All of them were very good. I had the ahi tuna and crab special over a bed of rice. It was very nicely done. There were margarita and moscow mules for drink specials that evening. Neither were anything special. I passed on having a second. The low point of the evening for me was the picnic table. The table must have been designed for children. I felt like I was sitting on the ground. It was very uncomfortable. I will return for a do over on another night. The food was very good and if not for the table and drinks, I would have tasted it higher.
Usually good but this time the fries were soggy and they forgot an item on carry out.
Great server and cozy atmosphere. I recommend the Grouper
Shrimp was a little overcooked and the place is extremely small. All in all it was a good experience and somewhere we will probably go back to.
Great little place. Great atmosphere. The food was excellent!
Amazing food and an awesome staff!
Good food .... Quite pricey for a small place...menu needs some work. I eat out everyday. Always looking for great seafood. Owner replied to this. I stand by my review. Over priced. Small portions with seafood. I know prices change but menu is flat priced. I know other places i use to compare...portion small here for price...sorry
Very good food. Staff were excellent
Food was good... but the staff and atmosphere was over the top.... 1st time here...but they made the weekly dine out list.
Good food and good service with a smile
Very relaxed vibe, food is always good, service is always friendly! Great place!
Great food, amazing dessert and the service was excellent ! Cute, little rustic spot. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Great food. The crab legs and fishermans platter was cook perfect. Our waitress was amazing and the crab chef was great to talk to. We will be heading back to this 5 star fish camp.
I've been here several times. Always had a great experience, except the last visit. Waiter messed up order, it happens, no biggie. But when he proceeds to argue with you and is rude. Really, that's your paycheck, Dan.
What a wonderful restaurant that is local and has great local
Amazing food and great service every single time.
My husband and I stopped here today on our way home from Charleston and Im so glad we did. My fried flounder was sooooo good and they give you a huge helping. I had plenty to take home. Hubby had the buffalo shrimp and it was delicious too. Staff are very nice and helpful. Will visit again!
What’s not to like. Great food. Served fast, fresh & hot. Wonderful staff. Very friendly. Cold beer & the best blackened scallops around!
Quick seating, great food, awesome service
Every single visit, the food is amazing.
Today was my 1st time there. The food was awesome!! The only issue I had was the parking. There was only enough parking spaces for a few cars in the Front And there was a big pothole when I pulled in.
Very cool atmosphere! Unique drinks! Friendly staff and food was amazing!!
It was our first time here. The food was amazing! We will be back!
Great food ,great prices friendly staff nough said
Wished that I had taken pics of the food before we had started eating. The place was clean the service was GREAT and the food was seasoned well. My only complaint was that it was too much food!! LOL.... Seriously the portion size was worth the price and then some. Special thanks to our server Matt. I definitely will be back.
Great local seafood restaurant with some of the best seafood around also some of the greatest deserts ever. If you visit once you will be back. Keep doing what you do Low Country Fish Camp one of the best.
Food was fantastic service great even though they were packed
The staff was very nice. The food is not bad but I felt that our dinner was pricey for the restaurant. Sitting outside under a tin roof didnt bother me too much but it was kinda hot. Maybe more fans if it is gonna stay that way. Give it a try. Maybe the prices will come down a little.
Wonderful little family owned restaurant with outstanding food and service. It is always busy which speaks for itself We visited for Sunday brunch. There are a few parking spots in the front and a small parking area in the rear, those are usually full and there is overflow parking just down the street. Like I started earlier, the restaurant is small but there is outdoor seating and a small covered area that they enclosed with plastic for the cooler times of the year. I ordered the bloody Mary and the alligator platter, both were fantastic. The bloody Mary had a skewer with three shrimp, peppers and olives and had a piece of celery. The alligator was tender and the fries were crisp. My wife got the dirty bird platter which was a large fried chicken breast on biscuits, ham covered with a egg and gravy. It was a very large portion of food. The service was spot on, we were greeted immediately and our server was knowledgeable, timely and friendly. The special was a bucket of steamed oysters for $15. The bucket was piled to overflowing. Great place. We will be back soon.
Had my wedding reception there. Best fried seafood in Summerville and excellent service!
Food is always great, just wish the place was bigger!
Best seafood I've ever eaten great people and the service was second to none
Nice small fish camp. Reasonably priced
It's a small place but the food is amazing. We tired the camp rolls and crab cake and the flounder platter. A ton of food!
The seafood is very fresh.
Loved it, food was amazing . Great staff
Crab dip is excellent. Shrimp dinner is great. Good size portions too.
We try to go at least once every few weeks! We have tried just about everything and it is always amazing! Service is great and the owner is super nice!!! Consider us regulars!!
Great local family feel, fried platters were great and fresh! Were there during happy hour. Nice deals!
Great seafood, slaw not so good. Wait staff was excellent.
2nd visit. Food and Service great.
Great quality seafood. Best oysters I've had in a long time, fresh and juicy. Service was excellent. Only complaint was that the food needed some salt and seasoning, but came quickly and was delicious with a little help. Prices are a bit high, but standard for Charleston. Big portions, so you get your money's worth. Still prefer Shuckin" Shack for value in Summerville, but this is a nice, relaxing, hole in the wall with really fresh food.
I ordered the scallops plater (blackened), it was good the seasoning was a bit overwhelming but it didn't ruin the dish... The Tea that I got was good at first but then the second cup was old tea , it tasted bad. Overall it was okay would recommend going there.
We had a delicious meal at Low Country Fish Camp. A special THANKS to Matt for the amazing service. Matt, you made us feel welcome and were very attentive to our needs for the meal. We had guest with us and they really enjoyed the whole flounder. Our young friend said the crab cakes were the best she had ever eaten!! Thanks again Matt for making our evening a delight. We will look forward to future Low Country Fish Camp meals!!
This is a little hidden gem off of Central Ave. Price point maybe $1 to $2 high. This isn't Capt D's. Inside is cramped so if you're offended by someone you dont know sitting at your table then this isn't for you. I liked it, food was good. Order came out quick. Wife ate here before with our son. She wanted to go back. Glad she suggested this place. I will return for another meal
The food here is utterly amazing! We had the duck legs, flounder filets, gator platter, French fries, red beans and rice, camp rolls, hush puppies, and a sample of their New England clam chowder, it was all mind blowing! The collards and Mac n cheese were OK so get something else. We were too full to eat our dessert there, so I'm looking forward to some homemade pecan pie! Not the cheapest place but worth every penny!
This place has amazing food. Their specials are second to none. Just wish it was a bit bigger.
This is some good seafood and friendly staff
A rustic place and a great value. Walking in, the place smelled incredible, so I ordered a crabcake appetizer, and both scallops and shrimp for dinner. I had a salad with shrimp and then blackened scallops entree. All fresh and expertly seasoned and cooked. The scallops were tender and perfect and there were LOADS of scallops! I locked all my plates clean they were all so darn good. A mix of diverse people and a cool laid back atmosphere. Keep up the great work. Love love love this place!!!!
Some reviews said it was small portions but I disagree. My scallops were great and the service was excellent.
Best fish ever!!!! Friendly staff. Love this place. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
Great little hole in the wall seafood spot. We will be back
Food was fresh, cooked perfectly, server was friendly and we had a great time !
The food is delicious! We had Shay as our waitress and she was so knowledgeable and helpful! We had cocktails which were yummy. We are pretty picky but loved the vibe and the food! I absolutely recommend this cute little place!!
I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with Low Country Fish Camp! Just as tasty as downtown, if not better. The Flounder was amazing. The least oil ever for a friend piece of fish. My wife loves the Crab Cakes. And the young students running food....makes me think of simpler times. Aces LCFC!! Aces!!
Best catfish I've had in the lowcountry at a restaurant. Friendly staff and great food. Limited picnic table style seating on the inside with additional covered seating outside. Wife had the seared flounder and that was good as well. Next time I need to try the mac n cheese since I have heard nothing but good things about that as well. Give it a try. You wont be sorry.
Excellent food. Excellent service.
I ordered the shrimp plate with okra... everything was yummy, and the people were super friendly. I definitely recommend
Wonderful traditional southern seafood fare. Very friendly staff.
Great little seafood restaurant. Been there many times. Good food and service.
A nice, local gem! Food and service both top notch. Definitely returning.
Great service and great food!
Cool place! Food was really good. Lots of outside seating. Great decor with very laid back vibe.
Had the shrimp and grits. HUGE serving...and had some cheese along with the sauce. Everyone else I came with loved their food too. Will definitely return!
Had the flounder and shrimp platter. Was delicious! The crab dip appetizer was also very good.
Excellent service, outstanding catfish stew, great fried shrimp. Cool dining options.
Definitely a dive! But SO wonderful! Screened dining area, limited indoor seating. Yummy flounder po' boy and the grouper bites we're so fresh tasting. Will go back!
Service is excellent! Food is delicious
I can't say enough about this place. I feel in love with this establishment after my first bite of the grouper bites. They were nice and moist with great flavor. The hush puppies and oysters were fantastic. I also had the shrimp and grits, I took most of it home because the portions are large so you get your money's worth here. The staff heard us and were very nice and attentive. I will be coming back when I'm in the area.
