Was very busy there was a ,1 1/2 wait for a table. Got a seat for 5 at the bar in 10 minutes. Bar tenders were awesome great food a drink.

Joan Donachy

The three of us went for happy hour and dinner followed. The oysters looked delicious and they were nice and fresh. The peel and eat shrimp were cooked perfectly and the ribs were delicious. We had the fish of the day.... Tile fish. It was good but a little dry. We had it grilled which was probably not the best choice but it was still enjoyable. We go to flying fish almost every time we are in Myrtle Beach. Have the red sangria it is very good!

Kristian Knoll

Our server was very rude and condescending. I ordered a catch of the day and got the grouper. It was very under-seasoned and did not have any flavor. The chef's rice that came with it was extremely acidic like someone didn't cook off the wine completely and it was also citrusy on top of that, and my gouda smashed potatoes were sweet, not salty and savory. Disappointed because the quality definately did not match the prices that we spent.

Don Griner

Great service. We had a large group and everyone was taken care of quickly and oysters were the best I've ever had!

Charles Calloway

Average food, slightly above average cost. Watch out if you dine in the evening and are seated outside as there is little to no shade. For a party of four, the wait was around 30 minutes and service was good.

Collaboradev

Absolutely fantastic quality Seafood. Best snow crab I've ever had. Wonderfully prepared fish sandwiches, lightly deep-fried and not greasy at all. Very flavorful. Highly recommended. The best seafood I was able to find in all of Myrtle Beach.

Beth Gibson

Delicious food, friendly and competent service made this dining experience worth the 45 minute wait! By far the best Shrimp and Grits on the Grand Strand!

Eric Phillips

Places like this aren't typically my kind of place but the staff was very well trained and the food was pretty good. Beer selection was decent. I'm sure I'll return at some point.

Susan Giuffre

Went this time with a group. I am in a wheelchair temporarily. They were so helpful and made sure I was comfortable. We had a ball, food was excellent! Some of our party had fun thoroughgoing fish! Great lace to eat, drink, deserts and water view.

Stephen Ludwin

Very good service and food! Great view of the intercoastal waterway.

Kathleen Goldstrom

Great Seafood and sides!!! Wait times were not bad, eating at the bar was a fabulous option! Enjoyed a new fish tonight - Tile Fish, delicious!!!

Jeff Helba

"How good could a fried fish sandwich be?", I thought. The Fish Market Sandwich was sooo good! The breading was thin and crisp. Sometimes the breading is just way too much. This made the sandwich more about the fish, which was flaky and juicy to the bite. Easily the best fried fish sandwich I ever had!

Sheepy06 _

Great sweet tea. I also had the salmon and you could tell it was freshly caught. Best fish I’ve ever had!

Ashley Wilson

Wow! We are visiting from out of town and found Flying Fish based on their great reviews (which were not lying)! My husband and and I split 3 appetizers for dinner (seafood nachos, crab tostados, and calamari). They were some of the best apps I’ve ever had! We were stuffed and had lots of leftovers! Our toddler got “fish sticks.” Not your typical fish sticks... you could tell it was battered, fresh fish. Our server was amazing! I wish I could remember his name. He was so good with our son! Super friendly and knowledgeable! Would def recommend this place!

Rich Levis

Long wait, 45min-1 1/2 hr. Good value, service friendly, but rushed after such a long wait. Great selection of all sea food.clean.

M Crandall

LOOOOONG WAIT, but food wad good. Wait staff did a good job. Nachos were very good and bountiful. Also has sushi that was very good.

Editorman one

Great food and service, just a long wait, but worth it!

Barbara Bogert

Decent food. Terrible service. We actually had food served with no flatware to use to eat it, after request from three of us. Not returning

James Barley

Want fresh seafood while at Myrtle Beach? Look no further! Fly Fish offers a huge selection of fresh fish from snapper, to grouper, to swordfish with a range of different preparation styles (i recommend their signature crushed goldfish with jalapeno) and sauces. The restaurant is family friendly, but also has a sizable bar if you're looking for more of that type of atmosphere. Their menu also offers a variety of other dishes in addition to their fresh fish selection. Their food and service were very good and the food came in a timely manner. I gave it 4 stars for two reasons. The first is my daughter's kids hamburger was VERY overcooked (i was impressed though that it was clearly fresh meat and not a frozen patty). The second downside was that it was very loud inside, and this is just due to the openness and size of the facility. These aren't things that would stop me from visiting again. If you want great fresh seafood at a decent price (fresh fish platter was about $25) at Myrtle Beach, check out Flying Fish!

Tammy Qasem

I’m giving this a rare five star because it was such a serendipitous experience. The view was beautiful, the service was wonderful and efficient, the food was unusually good and you could tell that it was fresh. The menu has a variety of choices, all seafood related, plus, this place gives you a complementary order of crab dip that is divine. You can even buy the seafood there and take it home to cook your own way!

James Huse

Best Seafood and Service in MB. Family enjoys the atmosphere and that it is still laid back and non dressy. Grouper is my go-to fish and they did not dissapoint. We went with family not familiar w area and we were hoping to see a fish throw but it didnt happen. We will be back whenever we are in MB w/o doubt.

Demetra Poag

What an amazing experience and the food was phenomenal! Jacquee was our waitress and she took wonderful care of us! Very wonderful personality and attentive! The seafood was so fresh and local. I highly recommend the Shea crab soup and the lobster ravioli. View was beautiful and worth the wait!

Brent W

Food was great service was great. They really manage this place well. The place was really busy but it was very little wait and we didn't feel rushed by the staff at all. Everyone was super nice and very courteous. We had the seafood nachos, crab tostadas and calamari with some drinks. My son had fish sticks which were real fish, I even enjoyed them.

Ken Nash

Been going to this location since it first opened long ago. Food hasn't ever disappointed me and has been our first stop for years.

Ann Shafer

We've always had great service and the food is tasty and well prepared.

Gail Little

Our waitor was incredible. Food was great. It is quite noisy but we enjoyed my birthday dinner. The bday cake was very yummy! We will definitely go back again.

Frank Schiavelli

Great food and great service at the bar! Their fish and other seafood is always excellent!

Faith Thomas

A dinner that was well worth the wait! We went on a Sunday evening, was told we’d wait an hour, but were called in within 30 minutes. Our meal started with hush puppies and I followed with the most tender, fresh, well prepared and seasoned fish I’ve had in a long time. Great ambiance and friendly service, too! I am well pleased with this restaurant and am eager to return!

dawn dorton

Was told it would be an hour wait. Ok my party waited. Only 2 of use so we just walked around and went shopping. They had sent a text to me to confirm they had the correct number. An hour and a half later I asked the young lady at the door she could not find my name show I showed her the text they had sent me she said oh it will be another hour. I asked for the manager and guess what was seated right then. Food ok but nothing special. Prices seemed like everyone else but for the price I wish the food would have been better. Service was ok. Nothing was great no one friendly not rude employees just there. Not some place I would go back to. To many other places to go that are really good in that area. Just nothing special at this place not even the employees.....

Daryl Waldrop

Great fresh catch. Great whitefish starter dip, awesome window views. Bailee was a great server. Back tonight for second night in a row!

Lynn M

Although we had to wait 1 1/2 hrs to eat, the food was delicious. Well worth the wait. I was told it's not so crowded in the off season. Lots of tourists in June. We will be back.

Cat Evilsizer

I was happy to see some vegetarian options though there were very few. The red pepper Gouda soup was very good as well as the homemade flour tortilla chips and mango salsa. It was pretty pricey but overall it was a very enjoyable night.

Victoria Grabhorn

They don't take reservations. It's a bit hard with large groups that way. :-( otherwise the place looks great. With a 90 minute wait and no way to make a reservation we opted for another seafood place.

Terry Compton

Great food and good service. The fish and seafood was all fresh and was delicious. The restaurant was very busy but we didn't have to wait very long for our food. We will definitely be eating here again.

Michael LoPresti

We had a wonderful experience here. It was a Sunday night, so there was a little wait, but it was worth it. The service was great and the food was excellent. Our waitress, Victoria, was a pleasure and made sure we were well taken care of. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area next.

Walter Mitchell

Waiter Aaron, was great. Food was delicious. First time here and enjoyed the experience.

Caleb Meyers

The food is excellent here. Great selection and specials are offered. Service here was fast even during crowded times

Valeria J Williams

Shrimp &Grits was very bland. The waitress was very attentive and interactive. The decor was beautiful and the view was amazing.

Ronald Pinedo

The smoked ahi dip was delicious.. the meal and drinks topped it all of, great environment and friendly staff!!

Jeff York

Wow. The food and service is fantastic. The best shrimp and grits I have ever tasted.

49er Fan

Stay for the appetizers... then go eat somewhere else. The seafood nachos were great. We should have stopped there. My wife got the shrimp and grits and I got the jambalaya. The shrimp and grits looked like soup. And tasted like it. Imagine store bought grits with cream of cheese soup. Little to no flavor except heavy cream. The jambalaya was decent. Wouldn't get it again. The chicken and sausage were so overcooked they were so chewy. Their shrimp and grits were rated so highly online we drove past multiple other places that probably actually did them justice.

Carrie VanWienen

Great food! Loved our server, he made great suggestions.

Tanner Hairford

Great service, awesome food, cheap delicious drinks

Mike R

The sushi is really solid, the app they give you is pretty good but not enough though. Coconut shrimp was bomb. Its a aight place to go for some seafood.

Kolby Durbin

Great view and amazing food! Ordered the swordfish and it was amazing!! The crab butter they give you when you first sit down is to die for as well. If you like oysters, you have to try a oyster shot. Love everything about this place!!

M Mullen

Food here is always awesome! The dip is great! We love fresh fish from here! My family always stops here when in Myrtle Beach! Fresh fish and seafood is always good here. It is not incredibly expensive but isn't cheap either. Their portions over the years seem to have shrunk a little bit....but it is good quality! Check out the view of the water and if the temp is right sit outside on the screened in area!

Ritchie Jacob's

Average seafood but didnt have fish so just shrimp and crabcakes nothing to write home about but service and management awesome

Alexandria Chambers

This was our husband and I's first time at this restaurant. I had shrimp and grits and calamari. Very good!! My husband had jambalaya. The jambalaya is why I gave the place 4 stars. It was just ok. Wasn't seasoned well. But that was the only downside. Our waitress was great and the restaurant atmosphere was nice.

Eugene Sulewski

Great food (had the lobster ravioli) and service. Very nice location right on the river near barefoot landing. Be sure to come a bit before 6/630 as the place gets packed. We also had fish and chips, filet, and the shrimp and grits. All were quite tasty.

Austin Fidler

Honestly I have zero bad things to say about Flying Fish, my reason for not giving 5 stars is I really expected more for waiting almost 2 hours and spending $250. The food was good, nothing was spectacular. I would recommend if there was no wait, to me it was just an over hyped Red Lobster.

Millicent Morley

Food was awesome. Ahi tacoes. Lots of choices for fresh fish. Drink and wine reasonably priced Happy he 4 to 7 View of waterway and marina full of boats

Niki Turner

Phenomenal dining experience! Went to Happy Hour in the bar on Saturday night. Of course the food, drinks, and prices were on point, but what really pushed the meal over the top was the wonderful service from Jale & Brandon!! Kudos to them for their awesome personalities and incredible teamwork!

Scott Martin

Shrimp and grits were the best I've every had. We sat in the bar area and had great service. All the food and drinks seemed to have reasonable prices. Place seemed very clean and well run. It was pretty cool to he able to see into the kitchen during dinner. They don't accept reservations so get there early or be ready for a decent wait because of how popular it is. We sat in the bar area to avoid the long wait and look forward to returning!

Brandi Miller

Always a superb dining experience! Happy Hour is our favorite time to go, with lots of great appetizers and sushi on special!! Has always been our go to place, for many years, and never once have we been disappointed!

C.L. Edmonds

Absolutely delicious and fresh! Very accommodating to our gluten free needs. Came around 2:30pm on a Saturday, and we were seated right away. Honestly the two drawbacks to our entire meal were: the mojito I ordered was not that good (it needed to be a little sweeter) and I couldn't order sushi (available after 4pm). Great overall experience! Oh.. and friendly staff, from hostess to management.

We have looked forward to going to flying fish for the past few years, but I will have to say our experience this time was bad enough to make us not want to come back. We started out with an hour and a half wait. When we asked how it was looking at the hour and 15minute point, we were told it just been a bit over an hour with a condescending to e. At an hour and 45 minutes we saw a table in the bar and took it. Don't know how much longer we would have waited if we haven't done that. The food was not good, it took right at 45 minutes to get our food when we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. Once we did get out food, the fish sandwich was very bland, the she crab soup was almost too sweet to eat and the seafood nachos were cold to the point the cheese had formed a skin. We have had these items except the soup on previous visits and we're so happy that this was the first place we chose to go on our vacation this year, but unfortunately I don't think we will go back. Our server was kind and helpful, but when she asked a manager for help, the manager was Curt with my husband.

Evan Myers

Always a great experience. I've never gone here not thoroughly enjoyed myself. They were my girlfriend and her little one and they couldn't have a higher review. The complimentary fish bread is amazing. We tried there tilefish which was amazing. Our waitress Tasha was absolutely awesome. Highly recommend.

holly umzinger

My friend was treating for dinner and asked me to pick a place. Heard great reviews so gave it a try Food and atmosphere was excellent. Staff attentive and friendly. Our server was silly and made us laugh Glad we went. Will return

Jeffrey Buckley

The (fill in the blank) was awesome. Service was great and the complimentary smoked mahi mahi and crackers was unbelievable

Bill Brown

Dinner was good. We had an hour wait to be seated but the service was good. Sarah was our waitress and went above and beyond to attend to my wife’s requests.

Kosta

Solid happy hour menu, and the sushi was really good. Fresh fish makes the difference. Overall a solid outing for fish and the like! Plus they have a market which is pretty cool.

Brittany Osborne

First time visiting, and I would definitely recommend! Kaylie was super knowledgeable and did a fantastic job waiting on us. Food was delicious and FILLING. It's well worth the wait.

Hannah Enos

I came to Myrtle this past week, and went to Flying Fish twice because it was so good. The drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and genuine. My fiancé and i had a wonderful experience and our food was incredible. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Myrtle. Thank you!!!!

Dot and Roger Keller

Great seafood, quick service and reasonable prices. Salmon was jucie inside and golden brown outside. Cooked just right.

Camille Kelly

Delicious! I will go back everytime I visit. Staff is very friendly and views are lovely. Space is lovely as well. Shrimp and grits lunch portion, She-crab soup, 1 1/4 crab legs, and calamari app is pictured.

Katherine Burns

Delicious! We were lucky and did not have to wait long. We were seated upstairs with a great view of the waterway. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was great and reasonably priced. This will definitely be on my list to revisit next time I'm in town.

Joseph Kramer

Food is always very good. Some of the freshest seafood on the Grand Strand. The staff is friendly and the service is usually quick. It is, however, usually quite busy so there may be a bit of a wait. Also, it is on the pricer side.

Suzi Godwin

Love, love, love their Signature Dish "Shrimp and Grits". I give it 10 stars.

Justin Jones

My fiancée and I just tried to go eat here for our first time and had the WORST experience ever at this restaurant. First of all we were sitting in the lobby waiting to be seated and one of the employees working in the bar area came up to us and asked, “Hey do you all want to be seated and have great service.” Naturally we said yes so once we arrived at the table someone else was sitting there because it was first come first serve. The employee yelled at the customers and made them get up so that we could sit down. We felt very uncomfortable because it was a huge situation with the manager. The employee was begging me to put in a good word for him saying that he was in the right because he was about to “get in trouble.” We had to leave the table and go back to the waiting list and no manager came up to us to apologize for anything what so ever. The employee was still yelling and begging for me to cover for him. Once we finally got seated and relaxed there was a HUGE cockroach or what they referred to as a “palmetto bug” (I’m in the pest control business I think I would know) crawling on the floor while employees were chasing it around the restaurant. It was very disturbing and unfortunate. We decided to leave and they still never said a word. Honesty, I’m sure the food is good but service was garbage. ZERO STARS.

Christian Wood

Great seafood. Always fresh. Pleasant and very helpful staff. Always love Flying Fish!

Sethu k Manickavel

Seafood restaurant and market. The food was great. Locally sourced drafts were good. The waitress was friendly and knew the menu well. A little on the pricier side for the quantity. Quality was great. Nice location on the second floor so you can see the water.

Sherry

Great Eel, large pieces, perfect price! Mahi was cooked perfect. The crab cake was flavorful but could have been cooked longer, one side was crispy other wasnt. Good food, we ate here 2 times during our week stay. Servers were friendly but seemed like they should have less tables to serve at a time.

David Zhao

Overall, food was okay, but not worth the price. Service was great. Excellent service -- server was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. The food was alright -- fried platter was seriously deep-fried and salty, market fish sandwich was quite good, though the fish was salty as well.

Ryan O'Loughlin

This place was amazing! If you like seafood this is a must stop for dinner or happy hour. Went here with my wife and the food was absolutely delicious. Raw oysters were so good and fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was great too! Shout out to Matthew our waiter on 3/2 sat night for great service! Will visit again on our next time to Myrtle beach for sure.

Johnny D

Sat at bar with wife, barmaids busy talking to each other to take my order. After a few minutes one finally asked us for our drink order. I wasn't offered a menu, had to ask for one. After 10 more minutes, still waiting to place a food order, another couple arrives and sits next to us. Must be regulars since the barmaid took imediate care of them, even giving them the free fish and crackers plate that is offered to everyone. We still have yet to get the free fish and crackers and haven't had our food order taken. The barmaid was busy talking to the other couple saying she is looking forward to working in the other place across the water. We asked the other barmaid for our check and left. We have been eating here since it opened many years ago and have never been this disrespected. This took place on Jan 24,2019 at happy hour.

Victor Andrei

This restaurant was one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been at.The atmosphere was great and the food was so delicious and incredible and I loved it!The waiters and the staff were also very nice and they made sure, that we were satisfied with our food and that we were happy.I absolutely loved this restaurant and the food was excellent and amazing and magnificent and I highly recommend this restaurant if you or your family likes seafood, because they make great seafood and they make sure that it's their number one priority to make awesome and great seafood

Robert Nitti

One of the best seafood places in Mrytle Beach. Be prepared to wait an hour for table. Located at Barefoot Landing. You can sign in and walk through all the shops and they will text you when your table is ready and give you 15 minutes to get back. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly.

Rob Schweizer

Perfect, sit outside if it's not too hot, 1.5 hours wait for indoor seating at 5pm

Triple K Gelbvieh

Late night but catch of the day was great. Snapper cajun stlye with honey butter lime was a great choice. Good service in a family atmosphere.

Taylor Dozier

Great selection of fresh fish, which the waitress explained was all "boat to table in 48 hours". Best part of this dining experience was the waitress. She was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and able to give recommendations. The complimentary fish dip and crackers, coconut crusted shrimp, roasted red pepper soup, she crab soup, and tile fish were all excellent and tasty. Kids also have an opportunity to throw a whole fish to a chef behind the fish counter (big perk for kiddos!).

Rebecca Pursley

EXCELLENT atmosphere, service, dinner and dessert! The absolute BEST dinner I had on my entire vacation!

Tyron Lipscomb

The foods good. Our serving she were good with us as a group of 10. We as a family would go back there again.

Nizzle Willoughby

ToGo order was cold when I got it (picked it up 15 minutes after ordering) and the Shrimp and Grits was not even seasoned... very disappointing.

J Trim

Our party got out late and missed the all-you-can-eat crab leg dinner so we headed to the Flying Fish after a quick Google search. I don't give 5 Stars often so 4 is a lowball number after one visit. The food was great, the atmosphere was great and they were open late, for me, which was really great. Five others having an array of appetizers, a variety of food and different drinks and we were all impressed by the staff. I live locally stand for a tourist place I was totally impressed

Jessica Horne

My fiance's family and I were in Myrtle Beach and looking for a place where we could get Calabash seafood but also have some other options. We found Flying Fish and I'm so glad we did. We tried the fried oysters with goat cheese, she crab soup, and a few of the Calabash options. Everything was amazing!! And the housemade sauces are so good. Our waitress, Asia, was the best I've had in a very long time. She was so attentive and personable, she really made the whole experience for us!

Carl M

Nice place, very good atmosphere, fresh fish. A little pricey, not super gourmet, but elegant. Good drinks, too. Different areas have less happy hour specials than others, which is weird and put our party in an odd predicament. Dumb rule. But it's a nice place with good food otherwise.

Chris Tucker

Great selection of seafood. Wife's burger was great! Mac and cheese for the kids. I had the grouper with Cole slaw and fries. Cajun seasoning was spot on, not too hot. Creamy herb sauce was perfect! Noisy atmosphere in the main bar area but the lower deck where we sat was ideal for a family dinner.

Donna Walters

They have a great Happy Hour 4-7. Nice selection of food and drinks. We try to visit whenever we are in Myrtle Beach.

Ahmad Nashif

Amazing! There really is no better word to describe this place other than amazing! Flying Fish Public Market & Grill is a very busy restaurant, with wait times hovering near two hours and no ability to call in a reservation in advance. We lucked out in being able to locate a table near the bar and did not need to wait. The food is extremely fresh, with a promise of a 48 hour catch-to-table on all the fish of the days. We ordered a few appetizers, including the nachos which were really good and stacked to the brim with toppings. In addition, you are offered free saltines and fish dip, which are very tasty. The main entree was very delectable. The fish tasted fresh, was cooked perfectly, and provided just the perfect amount of sauce to meat ratio. When choosing from the fish of the day option, you can choose two additional sides. Service here is attentive and pleasant, the ambiance is loud yet quiet when speaking with your fellow diners. Refills were made quickly and all staff was happy to provide a lending hand and to help when needed. Great experience and very well run restaurant.

Ronald Williams

If you're visiting this area soon, you have to try it out!!! My wife and I both enjoyed our meals and said afterwards that we're putting this restaurant on our list to come back to again. Hint...get there before 5pm.

Karen Cloer

Absolutely delish!! The shrimp was steamed to perfection, the she crab soup was full of crab and the jambalaya was perfectly seasoned with plenty of chicken, sausage and shrimp. Definitely a place to visit again

Mary Tennison

Our server, the bartender, was simply the best! She was fun, funny, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu, specials and alcohols. Fish and shrimp tacos were wonderfully flavored. Loved the jalapeno option for a little extra kick I'm undecided on the hushpuppies. Would have preferred some jalapenos on those as well. Plus they were too perfectly formed and sweet for my taste. Kids probably devour them Fun stop! Plus clean and airy Nd the bathrooms were great too.

Gus Edmundson

Amazing dinner and service! So fresh. Had the lobster ravioli and spicy tuna roll.

Sydney lam

Terrible experience due to management not apologizing after a huge incident between employee and customer with us between it and due to a cockroach running around the table as soon as we sat down with employees trying to kill it. Sucks to see how many good ratings there are for this place and to experience complete opposite.

Sherri-Ann Patrick

The food was great but service exceptional. Lucas, the manager, was so awesome I wasn't happy and he did everything to fix it. Above and beyond. Thank you!!!

Amy Peake

Great fresh and unique food. Great Service all around. Great view too!

Sarah Jones

Like so many of the other rave reviews, we had an outstanding meal with phenomenal service from Matthew! The Seafood Nachos were the best. We also loved the local art at the front of the restaurant. Thank you so much for helping us enjoy our mini weekend getaway/family reunion!!

1st509thGeronimo .

If you like fresh fish, this is the place to go for lunch or diner. Lunch is a much faster time on the wait. Dinner wait can be too long. No reservations.

Ashley Smith

Found this place three years ago and made it our yearly stop ever since. It’s gone downhill unfortunately. Server was decent but almost all of the food came out cold. Paying $30 for crab legs, you want them piping hot. I got the Gouda mashed potatoes with them. They were topped with the Gouda, and the potatoes were so cold the cheese didn’t even melt. I have three small kids, so I don’t have time for them to reheat everything or remake it. My mom said her fish was dry. She got the snapper. My dad had asked for salsa on the side, but it came on the fish. We got the side of green beans. They were crunchy and not hot either. So yeah, last time for this restaurant.

David B

We went with a group with a total of four. We ordered fish and both of our dishes were fresh and delicious. No fishy or frozen taste. Tender and work great choices of how to cook the fish. The only complaint from all of us was that the sides, mainly the green beans, were incredibly salty. Still tasty, though. The other couple had scallops and crab cakes but they noted it was not a good as our meals. Overall, very busy and be prepared for a wait and a bit noisy. But definitely great seafood so we will be back for that in the future. Just won't get the scallops.

Stephanie Samaras

We decided to stop for lunch on a whim. The interior space is spacious with the fish counter right up front. Our party of 6 had about a 15 minute wait which is wonderful in the Myrtle Beach area. They start everyone off with a delicious smoky fish spread served with crackers. We ordered some fried pickles for the kids and the fried goat cheese oysters for ourselves, both were perfect. We ordered from the lunch menu, the fish sandwich and the soft shell cream BLT. Both our sandwiches were absolutely amazing and HUGE. Neither my husband or I could eat more than half, and that was great because we had the leftovers for dinner. We will definitely return to Flying Fish on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

C. Perry Malphrus

I ate my delicious Gumbo, only to find a long black HAIR at the bottom of the dish! I received an apology and a dessert. Felt like there should have been a greater response than that. Service was very good.

Nick C

Nice spot with quality menu that is done in a creative Fish Market style that just works! Great HH.

Joshua Mangini

Pretty good food and service but not really anything to write home about. The cost wasn't overwhelming.

Marissa Marie

Absolutely an amazing experience as well as food/service. The food, view and drinks are to die for.. this place is a great experience! Prices are great, service is great.

Alex Morgan

Went for happy hour and the drinks and appetizers were good. However our meal could have been better seasoned. We ordered steamed boiled shrimp and they hardly had any old Bay seasoning on them

Lee Minn

Totally awesome, this place is. A must eat place for all tourists. Loved their happy hour menu. Would come here once a week or two if i were living near by.

Eric Ayles

After a mix up from the hostess this became one of the best meals of our trip. The manager and our waitress Erin was amazing and the food is some of the best on the beach. I would recommend the nachos appetizer and the calamari. They are both delicious.

Chris N

So much food! Everything tasted great. Great service from the staff, everyone was friendly. The wait was about 45 minutes on a Sunday night, but it’s summer, and should be expected at most restaurants in the area.

Matthew South

The food here is absolutely incredible! The biggest, most perfectly cooked shrimp ever. The service wasn't aweful. It was kind of lacking but they were VERY busy at the time.

Charel P

Exquisitely fresh seafood here. There are also plenty of non seafood options, for those who are dining in with their family but do not wish to order seafood, which taste awesome as well.

Jeffro422 .

Great food and atmosphere. The crab cake wasn't as good as I expected but we are from Maryland. Everything else was fresh and tasty.

Elaine Taylor

One of our most favorite places to eat. The food is exquisite.

Payton Bates

First visit but Not my last!!! My shrimp and grits was perfect once I added some spice to my food. Great views and very clean facility. Highly recommend the Flying Fish!!!

Bradley Weaver

Has always been my favorite restaurant in North Myrtle Beach and it is still a great restaurant but I always came for their fried Clam Strips. What they served this time around was different and definitely not an improvement. I can get the run of the mill Clam Strips at many other places for less.

Food was excellent. I wanted fried shrimp but nothing greasy so I was super happy that it wasn’t greasy at all and the fries were great too. Definitely a win! I was able to sit at the bar area and order right away which was great since there was a wait for the main dining area.

T Henderson

My family had dinner here during our trip to Myrtle Beach...It was EXCELLENT! The fish dip, fried shrimp & flounder and grilled halibut were delicious. The only complaint was the presentation of the California sushi roll. It didn’t look very appetizing but it tasted ok.

Pat Belec

Excellent food and service. We sat at the bar. Those ladies are very good .

Patricia Miller

The food was good. The wait too long. There were 2 vents in the ceiling of the entrance area that had black mold coming out of them. Serious health hazard.

Christen Hardy

Poor communication. My family and I had to wait hour and 1/2 just to be sat at two different tables. Had we known in order to sit outside we were going to be split up, we probably wouldn’t have wasted our time or asked for inside table to accommodate everyone.

Brooke Brown

So we LOVE shrimp and grits and if you do as well, DO NOT order them here. Very bland with creamy white sauce rather than the typical spicy Cajun gravy. Really just thick heavy cheese grits with milk gravy, not a good take on a classic at all. The worst is that we waited almost an hour for a subpar meal.

Cathy Tillotson

Friendly greeting, seated quickly on patio as requested, fast service, delicious meal, combo of scallops & flounder, ample portions, subbed green beans for fries. Pleasant atmosphere, beautiful night to sit outside, the prices are reasonable, simple menu (better than pages and pages some places have) highly recommend

We love eating there every time we visit Myrtle, which is usually three times a year. Never had a issue with the food or service and love the difference ways we can order the way our fish is prepared. The one thing I don't understand is why I have to order a side order to get hushpuppys. It's the only restaurant I've ever been in that you didn't get them with your meal. This sure won't keep me and my family from eating there,,,I still rate it five stars.

Make sure to take advantage of their Happy Hour deal. Drinks were good, Poblano Shrimp Dip was awesome

roy brooks

Sushi bar excellent waitresses management great food but really good service

Jenn Knight

Service was good, mixed drink was very weak and the pesto chicken flavor needs to be kicked up a few notches. The potatoes were gross, cold and weird in flavor. The coconut shrimp was good. Definitely not the biggest fan of the food I had but would give it another chance.

kimberly quamina

Drinks were kinda weak, but tasty. The food was pretty good. Our waitress was very attentive.

Christine C

The food here is always great and so is the service. For some really great seafood, come here to eat.

Gerald Egleson

Just had some fantastic buffalo shrimp tacos. The pico was wicked fresh, the jalapenos, too. Topped them off with a local lager. The service was fast. I came in at 1 on a Saturday and there was we're few people here. There are many tables with waterway view. Definitely recommend!

Dennis Duffy

Very good, with probably the best happy hour I have ever been to. Be prepared to wait if you have more than two, or do not want to sit at the bar.

Chuck Botts

Happy folks here. The wedge salad (with extra Bleu cheese) was excellent. Server Erin D. was perfect for the job. Thanks.

Mark Revill

Always a good meal here. We come here everytime we are in town. The food is always prepared exactly as you ask and the service is fantastic.

John Young

Not bad...reasonably priced. My wife had crab legs, I had buffalo shrimp. Staff was friendly, I recommend it!

Denise Payne

Absolutely amazing! We will go back to this restaurant every time we are at Myrtle Beach! The fish dip was amazing. Fresh Mahi Mahi and vegetables to die for! Fried camp strips, calamari and shrimp all perfect! Customer service (Brandi) was spot on! Thanks for a great experience:)

Jarrod Walls

Lived in North Myrtle for six years and this is without a doubt the best and freshest seafood on the strand .... Period. You'd half to go to Murrell's inlet for something this good and may come back disappointed . My family has eaten here many many times and never been let down. Great service, great seafood, great ambience.

Mike P

They start you off with crackers and some kind of fish dip that was really good. I had the Swordfish and Goudah mashed potatoes...it was amazing! My wife had the crab legs and she was very happy with her selection as well. We had a great seat right next to the window where you have a view of one of the waterways. The services was good as well, there was a miscommunication in the kitchen and in ended up with the wrong side. The mistake was corrected immediately with no wait at all. This is a great place for reasonably priced fresh seafood. This was our second time here and both meals were very good.

Shelly Speakman

Best shrimp and grits I have EVER had. The mahi mahi dip the come COMPLIMENTARY to your orders... is just wonderful too. Thanks for the great food... oh and the servers were great too!

Krista Becvar

TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!! The food was fresh and got here right away, and the staff was SO FRIENDLY!!! We needed a family picture for our Christmas card and the staff went out of their way to take our picture in a closed area. A little pricey, but it is so worth it! Great quality food, amazing staff/service. This place is great

Stephanie Adams

This place is incredible!! We tried it for the first time this afternoon. They give a complementary fish spread with crackers which is delicious! My hubby doesn't eat fish, but he loved the fish spread. It has a smokey flavor that is so good. Our meals were out of this world good!! I got the crab cakes and hubby got the ribs. I loved the crab cakes and would definitely get them again; however, the ribs were CRAZY good!! The best we've ever had! It's a full rack, so we came home with enough food for lunch tomorrow. In a town full of "touristy" type restaurants, The Flying Fish is a local gem! We will definitely be back! Great service too!

Jessica Ballard

Such good food and drinks. Great atmosphere and have enjoyed takeout many times.

Dan Austin

Really nice place. Great food with a great atmosphere!

Alicia Freeman

Our server, Brandi, was absolutely fantastic. The food was also delicious. We'll be back for sure!

This was my first visit to Flying Fish Public Market and Grill, but my wife’s second. I had a great time! She had crab legs and I had shrimp and grits, which I did not enjoy. I’m just not accustomed to my shrimp and grits being covered in a cream sauce with unseasoned, non-sautéed shrimp. Other wise, the food and service were great. Long wait time and a very busy atmosphere, especially during the fish throwing events, which created the type of ambience I appreciate and respect in a place like “Flying Fish”. Just the right “hustle and bustle!” I plan to visit again the next time I’m in town. Great people, friendly atmosphere!!

VaShawn Henry

Excellent dining experience. They text when your table is ready in case you want to explore Barefoot Landing. They also have open seating on the main level. Douglas was our server and he was just as awesome as our food. He was professional, fast, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was excellent, tasted fresh, the fried food was not too much batter, probably the best seafood we have had in Myrtle Beach. We had fried flounder, fried popcorn shrimp, broiled scallops as well as crab cakes. The crab cakes are pricey, otherwise the menu is priced fairly. The are conscious about food allergies; which is important to us as our daughter has food allergies. We will definitely return.

Kevin O'Donnell

Great location. Awesome views from the dining room. Terrific setup. Fantastic service and food. Highly recommend. Might be a good idea to make a reservation but we occupied ourselves during our wait exploring the shops

Dawnald Smith

Place to go for happy hour. Great time, great food, great service.

Penny Rose

Coastal travel condgers plans for sun, sand, surf and great seafood. Unfortunately, finding that seafood turns out to be struggle of the trip. However, simply by accident, after many disappointments, we found The Flying Fish while visiting Myrtle Beach. AMAZING food and service, clean and welcoming! Came back for several meals and were so pleased each time.

Taunya Macht

Friendly staff, good food, but should notify diners about their use of old bay on pretty much everything. Not everyone can tolerate old bay sprinkled on random items such as potatoes. Service was ok, but not great.

LaToya Harden

I had the fish market sandwich. Very fresh tasting and good flavors. The Island Punch drink was good also...not too strong, not too weak. The only issue was hour long wait for appetizer but manager too care of it. Wait was long in general for food but waitress was attentive. I have food allergy and still had pleasant experience.

Kira B

Big food portions, quick service, and nice prices. Hands down the best place I've eaten at in Myrtle Beach! Also go during happy hour and you can get two California Rolls for $5!!

Sheldon Frazier

This restaurant was great!!! Waited for about 45 min on a Wednesday evening over the summer. Lucked out and got a table on the back deck overlooking the water. Hendricks gin and tonic was perfect, got one of the specials (tilefish Cajun style) - it was delicious with Gouda mashed potatoes. I highly recommend it!!!!

Sarah Mulcahy

Excellent waterside location by the intracoastal waterway. The service was professional and hospitable. Food was excellent - we loved the complimentary fish spread and crackers. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. We will be back!

R Goosen

This place is great. We dined here twice in the same week, because our first meal was so good. The second meal was just as outstanding. One of our servers Sara was exceptional. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Brian F

Flying Fish is a must stop if you are in North Myrtle Beach and near Barefoot Landing. Service is excellent, the food is always fresh and cooking is consistent. Never had a bad meal here yet whether it is take out, lunch or dinner! They usually have a catch of the day- grouper, swordfish, snapper, etc. The beer, wine and cocktail menu is extensive. It is nice to have options for pairings with your fish and seafood. If you are looking to get fresh seafood, definitely stop here! Not many negatives with my visits here. The only thing I can think of is parking in Barefoot Landing can be horrendous on weekends during peak hours. I had to park pretty far away for dinner one time. Not the restaurant's fault, but something to think about if you have kids or a large group.

David Snyder

The food was quite enjoyable. The drink specials were very good for the area and everyone enjoyed their meal. We found a couple of the dishes to be rather ordinary and some of the dishes too rich. The wait can be a little long, but if seafood buffets are not your jam, it is worth it.

Victoria Kelly

Family vacation is always fabulous but going to eat out of town is difficult. However, flying fish made sure we had a great meal and great service. Our waitress made sure to accommodate our daughters gluten allergy as well, which is very hard to find!

Brian Wangenheim

Great food and service. Sat on back deck overlooking the water -- fantastic view. The food was timely and well prepared and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall it was a great experience and will certainly be back.

Em Moore

I visited this place during our stay, it was highly recommended. I order sushi, I figured since it has fresh fish what better way to eat sushi. I got food poisoning and was throwing up all night. So the handling of the food or the surface they work on not sure. Will not go back
