What a great find! Cute atmosphere, friendly staff and some of the biggest oysters I've seen. We shared a fried clam platter that was awesome. The manager came by and explained a lot about oysters to us as well. Would definitely come back for more!

I don't usually review restaurants but this place deserves it, mainly because of the BEST server we have ever had, Kimmmmmm. This lady was full of life & character, very welcoming and a really good server. We were a party of 9 out of towners, but she made us feel very welcome, comfortable, and made sure we all understood our options well and where happy with our food. Always ask for Kim; your experience will be way better and positively more memorable. Food was very good and atmosphere is nice.

Meh, flounder and grouper baskets were good but very small portions. Service was excellent. Happy hour drinks $5 for a mixed drink, not so good. Better beverages and prices elsewhere. Probably wouldn't recommend and won't revisit.

If you're into fried food, this is your place. Food was fine, nothing special. Service was poor. Ordered drinks and server forgot about them when we asked (at least he was honest). Ate our entire meal without water (or anything else to drink). He said he would bring crayons for the kiddos but forgot those too. Took a while to get the check. Expect a long wait... Meh.

This was our family’s first visit to Bubba’s Fish Shack. The service was great and food was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the fried oysters as a starter. We had six in our party with varied tastes, but everyone found something they liked. If you are staying in Myrtle Beach, do not hesitate to make the 20 minute drive to Surfside and enjoy this restaurant.

Fresh Seafood! AYCE catfish came out piping hot - melt in your mouth. Crayons to color on the 'tablecloth' while you wait. Margaritas were inexpensive and good.

I stopped at Bubba’s for lunch while in town for a business trip. Hillary was super friendly and very attentive, along with other staff members who came to check on me from time to time. I ordered a $2.50 PBR and the grouper sandwich with fries and slaw for $10.99; it was delicious! Definitely a place to check out, for the food, the overall relaxed atmosphere and decor.

If you're looking for cheap food and drink, this is your place! If you're looking for great tasting food, probably not. Split the Captain's Platter with a friend, everything tasted like it was frozen before it went into the fryer. Hush puppies were very disappointing. The atmosphere was cute and my friend and I both agreed it's probably a lot more fun in the summer! Someplace you'd go late night for drinks and snacks.

Went for lunch talked about returning for dinner. The sea food was fresh and wonderful! We had popcorn shrimp, grouper and flounder. It was all awesome! The hushpuppies weren't the best seemed to be just bread, no onion or anything. Portions are large and the staff was friendly.

Nice unique seafood restaurant at Surfside Beach. Not very far from Myrtle Beach, where we are staying. Great kids meal selections. The wait was about 45-40 minutes, but we came at 6:30, so not unreasonable for a popular spot like bubba's. The decorations are very cool and interesting. Overall it was a good experience, and our server, Lynn, did a great job. Be careful if you park in the lot behind the restaurant- that is pay parking and tickets are issued if you fail to pay.

Absolutely loved the Crab Cakes!!! They were actually a fulfilling size compared to most restaurants that I have eaten crab cakes at. Small venue conveniently located only minutes from the beach. When in Myrtle Beach again definitely worth eating at. The price was within reason for the amount of food. Rachel was a very friendly and personable waitress.

Just went here this week and it was GREAT! The service & food were awesome! I got the flounder platter and loved it! Fish is my favorite! My husband did say the larger shrimp was better than the popcorn shrimp and he thought the tarter sauce may have been made with something a little different but it wasn’t bad, just not what he was used to. He also agreed the service and food were great! The atmosphere really laid back with graffiti walls, rolled brown paper for table covers and paper towel rolls on the table. They even thought of extra plates with our players for our sauces and more room! Great place!

Sat upstairs at the bar, service was fast and friendly. The mixed drinks are fun to try. Good bottle beer selections, not just your regular domestics, I noticed some craft selections as well. Food was also great, pick and peel shrimp cold or hot, also try the thai shrimp appetizer. The sauce was sweet/hot and flat out addictive !!!

We had been to several other seafood types out in the myrtle Beach area, so we wanted to try something new... And I think we found a great regular stop in the future. My family loved the coziness, but the food is why we will be back. Loved the AYCE Catfish, and our waitress kept them coming very hot and fresh. Hush puppies & Buffalo Bubba q shrimp appetizers, just perfect. If I had a complaint, it would be no clam strips, but the calamari filled the void.

We aren’t big on eating out because my husband loves to cook, but this is one of our “musts” every year at Myrtle Beach, along with one other place. Always great service, fast, and delicious food for a reasonable price. My husband and I split the captains platter which is perfect for the 2 of us (a lot of food)! My only complaint is we noticed the bartender was charging extra for drinks when we paid cash (not sure if this should be looked into a little more), so pay attention when ordering from the bar! We will be back next year!

Great food, great service, beautiful view of the water. Husband had wings and he said they were very good. They were the biggest chicken wings I've ever seen. Hush puppies came with whipped honey butter and were served hot and fresh. Crab cake was delicious too. By far the best service we had on this vacation. I went back to take back the pager because I was so mad we just left. “But we were getting ready to page you.”

Bubba's Fish Shack was a hidden gem my boyfriend and I found while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. We simply wanted good fried fish, good fried oysters, and crab cakes. Well this place delivered on all three!! The food came out HOT and FAST! The fish and oysters were seasoned just right and you could taste the freshness. The crabcakes were all crab with just a sprinkle of filler ( maybe). The oysters we by far the shinning star on our visit. It was as if the were from ocean to plate ( well opened and cleaned first). Side note: be prepared to go up a flight of stairs to get inside incase you are taking your elder or someone with issues with going up and down stairs. We felt bad for an elderly woman trying to major her way up and into the building. Will most DEFINITELY be back!!

Everytime we are in Myrtle beach we come here at least once. They have delicious hush puppies and entres. Its up a flight of stairs to the restaurant so be prepared for that part if stairs are an issue for you.

Food was mediocre. Service was lacking. When someone from our party let someone at the front know we needed drinks and some other stuff the server came over and had an attitude for the rest of the time we were there. She was slinging stuff down on the table, rolling eyes and sashaying body around. Having poor service was bad enough, but I was thinking maybe it was just an off day. The attitude really made me decide I will not be going back there, especially for mediocre food.

Our first visit didn't disappoint. The food is southern comfort food for those who like fried fish, as this us essentially the bulk of the menu. They do also have blackened grouper and blackened chicken, salads and sandwiches, but their speciality is a basket of fried fish with fries and cole slaw, or you can have sweet potato fries. Food was high quality, place is owned by the same company that owns River City, so the quality can be assumed. Plenty of beer and mixed drinks, too. We'll return.

Me and my wife shared the plate and I want more. It was so good they have made me want sea food lol. So give them a try go a little early they can get busy. But worth it! This was the first time we tried this restaurant and have been going to the beach for years. We were all impressed with the food. Menu has options for all types of entrees from seafood to chicken and pork. Sweet potato fries were absolutely incredible, nice and crispy, I could have made a meal on those alone. Nice waiting area available with plenty of seating and shade. Prices not bad, very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. We have definitely added this to our list of favorite places to eat at the beach!!
