Five solid stars for the fantastic fresh lobster. Ambiance is another matter. Picnic tables but the view on the harbor helps. The amount of lobster on the lobster roll and the fresh taste make this place worth the trip. One of the best

It’s fresh! It’s delicious! The best thing after lobster roll is lobster roll with a view. I recommend this place! My mother is very picky when it comes to lobsters. She approved this place! I HIGHLY recommend!!

I was in Newport for a wedding and I stopped to bring home lobsters. Take a cooler and they will get you what you need. This lobster is amazing and direct from the sea. I would give a 10/5 if I could. Nice people, great business and EXCELLENT product! The BEST!!!!

It's a convenient location and a pretty view with friendly service. The lobster roll, however, leaves a lot for the imagination. The 6oz version contained hefty chunks of lobster, but that was about for the positives. I prefer some flavoring, mayo, and creativity in my lobster salad. The bread part of the roll was also very disappointing--dry and and not a great compliment to the under dressed lobster.

The Lobster Shack is one of my favorite summer spots when I'm in Newport! They are dockside where the fishermen unload their catch, so it is as fresh as it gets. I usually get the lobster roll or lobster dinner - both are great. Also check out the live market - you can pick up crab and lobster to take home. A couple dozen crabs and some cold beer makes for a nice summer evening with friends!
