The BEST fish & chips on the Oregon coast are at Fisherman's Seafood Market. It's the floating houseboat down on the docks by the downtown Coos Bay Boardwalk. The view on the water is beautiful, the food is unbeatable, the prices are better than any other seafood restaurant in town, and the sensation of floating on the water is fun. I used to go down to Bandon to get fish & chips, but they don't even hold a candle to Fisherman's Seafood Market. The pieces of fish are fresh, firm, white and flakey, and the breading is NOT greasy. The coleslaw contains dried cranberries and is the best I have ever had. I am not particularly fond of coleslaw, but I eat every last shred of theirs. And they have a seasoning you can sprinkle on your french fries called 'Slap yo' Mama' that takes them to a whole new level.

My wife and I ordered a clam chowder and the combo basket. Both were fantastic. Don't go on a rainy day, as you will most likely need to eat outside, but the outside seating on the boardwalk is great! The only complaint it that the clam chowder was good, but not great. Don't expect a fancy restaurant, but the food is good with excellent service. I would happily go again.

4-24-2018 Chowder is all onion. Seafood baskets are pretty good..fresh smoked salmon is real good. Onion and celery do NOT belong in Chowder!!

This place is not only cute, but they have the best fish and chips around! We came here in March for my birthday and planned my boyfriends birthday in coos bay may 16th just so we could come back. Weve been twice since, in our 5 day stay. They are great people and have a cool view of the water too! Home made clam chowder is delicious! Go go go!

The food and service were good. Some great clam chowder. The prawn we're huge and tasted good. My wife really liked her clams. The fish is bite sized, not big filets FYI. There is very little seating, so be prepared to eat outside. It is fairly expensive for the amount of food you get, but the flavor is worth it.

Best fish n chips and best chowder I have ever had. The owner was very nice and assured me it was all made using local seafood. There was also a giant pile of shucked clams out back which is a good indicator. The restaurant is actually floating and attached to the boardwalk. And it is small so there isn't much room to eat inside. But there is an eating area on the boardwalk which is actually quite nice. If I lived closer I would eat here all the time.

The fish and chips were fantastic. Big chunks of cod, lightly battered. Fries were crinkle cut, had a good taste. Also had a cup of chowder, it was better then the tourist chain. The location adds a lot to the character of the diner. Will be back, I highly recommend this place.

Food was a long time coming. By 5pm they were out of major staples like the chowder, ketchup and oyster. For the price the food was not worth the wait. Would not recommend. Oh and a few bites of slaw why add it to the dish?

Stumbled upon this place on the recommendation from a friendly chap in the tourist information. Very pleased that I did. Ate there then and the previous time I drove through Coos Bay (lunch and dinner) and will eat there again today before I leave on my 3rd trip. I've not tried any other place in Coos Bay but really enjoy the fish & chips (fries) and the daily catch here.

7/21. I was not impressed. I had fish and shrimp. The breading takes away from the flavor of the fish and made the roof of my mouth raw. To crunchy. I wish I would have had the clam chowder. The man sitting next to us said it was very good. My husband had the breaded oysters and said they were to mushy and tasted dirty. The chips were not good. The food was just ok nothing special. Oh and by the way I gave it 3 stars but it keeps posting 1. Sorry

Decent fish and chips at a good price. It's the panko style batter, rather than the traditional beer batter. Not much room for dine-in. I'd recommend just the regular fish and chips. The other stuff on the menu was not as tasty.

We came here last Saturday. It was a really warm day in winter so we expected it to be busy but luckily for us it wasn't! The only drawback is they have tiny tables. We ate up in the covered outdoor eating. The food was delicious. Fish was a little bland I suppose but I prefer that. Could have used more ketchup for my fries but I should have asked for that. The lady was very nice. The clam chowder was excellent. Food was hot and plentiful. My picky son lapped it up like a puppy at the water bowl. We will eat here again!

The best fish and chips in town! I have grown up in the area and have had my fair share of seafood and this place is at the top of the charts. You can just tell what you are eating is fresh. The breading is crisp, not like a lot of the places that tend to serve them soggy. The only downside is the seating, as there are only 2 tables but it's on the boardwalk so you can take your food outside and enjoy under the covered area or along side the water.

Located right on the dock. I'll admit that I'm a picky and inexperienced seafood eater, but their fish and chips ($9.95) were tasty. The clam chowder was amazing as well. I thought they went a tiny bit light and the fish and a little heavy on the chips, but my were they scrump-diddly-umptious! Not much seating inside but it's charming! Service was very friendly. Overall a great experience.

Reviews and all of the advertising would make you feel as if this was a diamond in the rough. I found it to be otherwise. Clam chowder was ok, though it was chalked full of clam which is a nice surprise compared to other options on the coast. The fish and chips were utterly disappointing. Felt and looked as if it was a frozen dinner found at any grocery store. Incredible location and building though. On a floating pier right on the water. Fun to walk around and take in the views and history of Coos Bay
