Fantastic food at reasonable prices! We are looking fora good deal on fresh seafood and we found it this place will even cook the crab and shrimp for you for an extra two dollars a pound! It is so worth it to be able to pick it up and take it home or you can also be there. We were recommended to come here by a local and were not disappointed. we highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!! Checkout how large the King crab legs are! The person serving us said the fish was local so that was great!!

My family and I have purchased shrimp and various fish on our yearly trip to Nags Head. Best seasoning we've ever had! We buy the shrimp steamed, seasoned, and peeled. They are ready to go with no hassle. That is the only item we've purchesed precooked. We have gotten various types of fish and have been extremely satisfied. They have a large selection of various seafood and other essentials. The spice mix they sell is absolutely amazing. The prices are reasonable too. The local vibe is nice, along with the people working there. Definitely a staple in our family tradition.

We make Austin fish company our daily fish shop while we visit the Nags Head, an easy decision. The freshness and variety, along with the knowledgeable, helpful, and kind staff were there draw every day. Austin fish company's variety included an expansive local selection. While also providing all the fixings from breaking for frying to the sauces to accompany your choices, asap offering to stream you crab legs for you. Right outside was a great little produce shop to round out our meals.

Our group got one of the cooked variety buckets for dinner tonight but we had biked to the store so I went to buy a drink while I was waiting and the older blonde cashier/checkout woman was extremely rude because I bought it with a debit card. She rudely looked at me and asked if I had cash to which I said no I didn't (or I would have paid with cash), so I asked her if they were cash only and she said no as she still acted very rudely. She practically slammed the pen down to have me sign after I had mentioned I didn't see a sign anywhere. It's unfortunate because they had a good variety of seafood and the woman behind the fish counter was very polite and helpful, not to mention we were spending $200 on food. One disrespectful employee can really ruin an experience and opinion of an establishment. If you're not a cash only establishment you shouldn't be harassed by an employee for paying with a card.

I have always liked Austin's and the good seafood and value. Today was really bad and no where near like before. I got the fried scallops which have always been fabulous. It didnt taste fresh, they were soggy and tasted like old oil with no batter. The hush puppies tasted like they had been heated up after being refrigerated a couple days. It was horrible. I couldnt eat it. I should have taken it back but i was heading back home to VA. Wont go back. Very disappointing

Love this place! We get most of our food here while we are on vacation. Best fresh, local seafood in Nags Head. Family owned. Has a small farmers market on the property. Great for steamed seafood, sandwiches, & take out and have on the beach, picnic, rental, or you can eat right there on the premises at a picnic table on the porch.

Austin's has been the go-to place for our seafood each year when we come to the beach. We have always had good things to say about it and even suggested it to our friends as well! However, our experience this year hasn't been the same. We got a ton of shrimp and crab meat spending a nice chunk of change on our food and the crab meat was littered with shells and the shrimp was extremely hard to peel, leaving us to feel it wasn't cooked exactly right. We will still give them another chance since this is irregular from our previous experience and I will update my review if their quality is back to the standard they had accustomed us to.

We tried this market on or way out of town based on other reviews. We always like to stop at a fish market to pick up some fresh local fish to take home and freeze for later because it’s so hard to find it fresh, and you also never know if it’s labeled correctly inland. The market was incredibly busy and was hard to get service. When we did it was very rushed, we really wouldn’t have been able to ask any questions if we’d wanted to. After we left my husband told me he had noticed only a couple of the fish had labels on them that said ‘local’, so we are unsure if what we bought was actually local or fresh, despite the fact that it was supposed to be in season locally. He also noticed they had a selection of nonlocal fish on ice, like Halibut and Salmon. They had a lot of shrimp (labeled local).

Best seafood in OBX! We got seafood from Austin's three times on our last visit to bring back and cook at the cottage and everything was excellent. They have a wide selection and great prices. I had been to another seafood market in the past and I will not be switching back. I've had the scallops, shrimp, calamari, and various fish here and it was all super fresh and tasty! We are staying in Duck in a few weeks and I plan to drive to Nag's Head just for this place.

I would have given them a zero if it was an option. Don't bother! Worst customer service ever! I called with questions about their menu an hour before 7pm close. When I talked to the guy he was nice and did not given ANY restrictions as I asked about steamer pots, AND I stated I would call back. When I called back 30 minutes before close to place an order for a steamer pot, NOW he stated I have to call ahead. Yet he told me they close at 7pm. Obviously frustrated with the situation, we called back and a lady answered. We tried to discuss the lack of communication via phone and website, and her answer was, and I quote, she has been working there 58 years and she doesnt need advice! I guess they can care less. Call "I Got Your Crabs" instead!!!
