(Translated by Google) Flavors of childhood. The delay in the room of soho a little extensive, it is necessary to reserve (Original) Sabores de la infancia. La demora en el local del soho un poco extensa, hay que reservar

Delicious! Good service and great food. Perfect for brunch.

Ordered the classic board with the bialy. Everything was fresh and flavorful, including sliced tomatoes in early May! Smooth lox. Fat capers. And the onions weren't overpowering. The bialy is special and according to the local at the next table it's unique to NYC. Even though it was supposed to be over an hour to wait, we got to visit the Leonard Cohen exhibit at the museum upstairs while waiting for the restaurant to page us. Delightful all around!

Craig Miller

The food at Russ and Daughters is amazing; I especially recommend the pastrami salmon or smoked sable. This location is very nice - more seating and a modern space. They are also very accommodating for group reservations and helpful in finding the right orders for your budget.

Yaacov H

Very good experience! Food was delicious, service is good, and atmosphere is friendly. The added bonus is the food is Kosher (with an Orthodox hashgacha). If you need to take an religious Jewish person for a meal in Manhattan or simply want some great Jewish style food, make it a point to come here.

Tim Foord

Good food.

Jennifer Klein

Exactly what I wanted. Go into the basement and grab one.

Richard Potter

Authentic kosher deli, adjacent to Central Park.

Ilya Kravets

Extremely expensy for the offerings. The lox is good, even if it is paper this, but the herring is memorable for being so mediocre

Akiva L

Best whitefish salad I’ve ever tried and the eggs Benny was incredible. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. The restaurant is very cute.

Patrick Neuman

Awesome. A gem on the UES!

Titus Hays

I eat in this spot a lot since I work close by. I like how the customer service is always awesome and they keep the place well kept regularly. Pricing is reasonable and they serve large portions.

Jan Katz

Great atmosphere and wonderful food. Staff is also very nice. Must prepay on line to eat there on Saturday.

A must when visiting NY

Food is delicious for Museum Food but really over priced.

Tim Grunwald

kasha & any of the boards.

YM Mana

Delicious food

James Araujo

Deviled eggs were great, but a lot of the larger plates were just mediocre. Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me. Gratuity is included, so don't let the menu prices scare you (or do: $25 for bagel, cream cheese, and lox).

Yonatan Rabinovitch

Great place if you want to spend $15 on a bagel the size your fingernail. Also, babka was very dry. Three stars because the bagel itself was ok.

Cory Platt

Amazing little place in the basement of the Jewish Meseum

Brad Polsky

I mean... So delicious. Babka French toast, STOP. Eggs Benedict on challah.

Oh, THE FOOD!!!

Andy Caceres

Great Jewish food

Zach Graber

This place is fantastic. The best lox in the city as far as I am concerned. That being said, everything is great. My favorite thing is the whitefish chowder. I can't stop eating it. It is that good. The decor is amazing as well. Half Jewish deli half swanky Manhattan cafe, this place really ticks all the boxes. A little pricey but the tip is included so that helps.

Tarna Klitzner

Limited menu but great Nova an bagels. A little pricey.

Absolutely a spot worth stopping over, the food is good and fresh, the rates are reasonable and it is regularly well kept there. Keep up the good work.

Bagel and lox were fine, pretty good actually. Customer service was abysmal...all three people I interacted with were impatient, rude, purposely misleading in their instructions/explanations, and downright mean. Starting with the woman behind the register and ending with the hostess in the dining room, the whole experience was quite unexpected-and I saw two other groups - a couple and a small family - treated the same way by the counter lady and the hostess. I was really uncomfortable and left without eating the sandwich I ordered and took it to bench near the park. Overall, food was fine but the experience was unpleasant enough that I would never ever go back here, or to their other locations either.

The best brunch cafe in NY. You shoyld try Eggsbenny, classic, chocolate french toast. Dont forget to drink Chocolate eggcream

Anton Cain

They serve big dishes and for fair rates. super friendly staff members. Highly recommended.

Joseph Greenberg

Fun take on very traditional dishes. Food is delicious! Prices include gratuities, and wait-staff is very responsive. They don't take reservations, so if you are going on a Sunday, be there when the open at 9. Also they offer pre-paid Shabbat lunch, which is an interesting (and tasty) alternative.

Caroline Sederowsky

The best gravlax!

Jonathan Harris

Great place. Kosher version of downtown location. I've gone to the museum more since they opened than I have in the past year as a member. Delicious on a bagel. Also... Tip is included which is nice except that you are taxed on the gratuity.

kathleen morton

Great selection of high quality noshes

Peter Bui

Amazing food and desserts!

Christine Ko

Our favorite bagels and lox in the city. Anywhere for that matter.

A treat....

Decent food but the cost to portion size is a joke. They’re really taking advantage of people’s nostalgia for food that used to be for poor immigrants.

supakanitlim .

Everything was very salty. Lox, even when eaten with bagel and cream cheese was still too salty to be enjoyed. Overall very disappointed by this much hyped place. But the ladies at the museum entrace were lovely.

Excellent breakfast place - they've got it all. Hand rolled bagels & bialys, fresh smoked salmon (and lots of other fish), and babka french toast! Even their coffee was particularly good. The fish is really where they excel - it's incredibly fresh and delicious. This is probably the best kosher brunch place in the area, period.

A must visit in NYC. Close to Central Park and located in the Jewish Museum. Superb coffee and incredible food served by the most attentive staff. Bagels were amazing.

Will Devlin

The food was pretty good but it did not have the special effect to it. The cold drinks were very nice and the staff were really nice and friendly. The service was good and the seats were comftorble. It was very well decorated and the service was way better than what we had last night. It had a funky and happy vibe to it.

Jon Meadow

Freshly prepared to order and you can taste the freshness. Few places like this exist. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.

John Johnson

Russ and daughters at the Jewish museum it's a very cozy little place to dine with family and friends or just chill by yourself very clean and and relaxing

Ilya Feldsherov

We had brunch there and it was quite good, albeit very expensive for what it was. I'm docking this review a star though because we bought a babka afterward to take home and it was literally the worst babka we have ever had. It was extremely dry and flavorless (and also expensive). The last time we bought a babka it was from Meckelburg's in Brooklyn and the differences could not have been more stark. Extremely disappointed in the babka here.

(Translated by Google) It really is wonderful! We ordered a board with 4 fish, tomatoes, pasta etc. It's simply incredible! I ate with my husband, but served three people very well. There is so much food left over and taken to the hotel

Pricy and not much soul, but the food was to die for. There's no tipping, so that lessens the price pain. The staff was very efficient and helpful. Did I mention that the food was to die for?

Valentin Khatchatourian

Undoubtedly the best bagels in town!!

Carlos Villavieja

As usual great experience with their fish boards, only problem is the long wait but one of the best places for an original brunch in NYC.

Evelyne Françati

Très bon, très cher, lieu magique, a faire au moins une fois dans sa vie !!

Mark Robinson

The food here is spectacular! Possible the best nova in NY.

The quality? Unparalleled. Their ability to take a sandwich order at the take-out counter? Laughably poor. In 3 separate occasions, they have managed to screw up some facet of a relatively simple sandwich. 5 stars for the fish, 1 star for the service. Good luck.

Chantz Strong

Rip off. One bagel, two pieces of lox, 23$. You can do better in any deli in NYC. Avoid unless desperate

Geraldine Rodriguez

Food was delicious but prices were too high. A bit ridiculous!

Astrid Lamas

Loving this location for these amazing bagel staple.

Aviva Hoch

Pleasant place. Food was fine.

Our first time visit here after hearing the buzz online. We were here at 10.30am (Dec 21, 2018) and tried to order the main food from the menu at the counter. The cashier told us they were not serving the food from main menu and any hot food until 11am, and instead showed us another menu meant for takeout. We were looking through the menu and the cashier grew impatient. She was then rude to us and talked to us with condescending tone. My girlfriend and I were complaining to each other about her attitude and she overheard us. Then, she forced a smile on her face and served us a full boiling hot cup of coffee on purpose so that it makes us hard to carry from the counter and we eventually spilled it all over while carrying it to our table. No replacement for the coffee, which is fine, I didn't expect that. The coffee she served to other guests were not full to the top like ours. Now the food... The food is expensive and subpar. Not worth the visit. Gratuity is included in the price, I just wish that was not charged for our bad experience here. Maybe your experience with be better than ours. Note: The cashier serving us was an African American named Michelle (as says on the receipt). Thanks for giving the guests bad experience here at this restaurant.

Howard Feldman

Nice atmosphere. Good food.

Bialy, smoked salmon lox and shashunka was amazing. Excellent service, tip included. So many great options, it is hard to choose one thing to order!

Tom Przybylak

Delicious Sunday morning breakfast. Excellent service and solid takeout as well. For an extra fee they will package in a tote.

Daniel Solomons

Has quickly become one of our favorite brunch and lunch spots in the city. It is a masterfully executed and modern interpretation of a traditional appetizing restaurant. The homemade smoked fish and herring are, of course, first-class. However, most menu items, from appetizers (or "Noshes" as they are called) to egg dishes, boards and desserts are innovative and memorable. Pricing is moderate, considering the quality of the food and decor. Furthermore, the service is warm and professional, and NO TIPPING is allowed. Make sure to try the Eggs Benny, the Borscht and don't leave without experiencing the Halvah Ice Cream. Enjoy!

This location is more expensive that the others I think, maybe because it is in the Jewish museum. But my bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon was incredible.

andre47g .

Professional service. Nice decorations. Tasty food. Little bit expensive

Maciek amer

If you like smoked fish, it is a good choice to visit Russ&Daughters. You can custom make your sandwich or order anything from the menu. There is a big variety of fishes to choose from. If you happen to be visiting the Jewish Museum this place is a very good idea for a lunch break. You have traditional jewish dishes to try out. All the tables were taken, so we decided to take our sandwiches outside and eat them in Central Park which is very close to this restaurant.

Av Ls

Great bagel sandwiches, good service and friendly staff!

Darcy Leyes

The eggs Benny was really good, a little overpriced but hey, it’s New York. The halva ice cream was a disaster, for 10 dollars I expected either a bigger portion or better quality ice cream. It was extremely overchurned and crumbly. I will not be returning to this location.

Max Hochman

Tasty food and good service. However the menu at this location did not include potato latkes or matzah ball soup, a little disappointed.

David

Excellent food. Every dish is made to perfection. Fish is super fresh and every bite is mouthwatering. 2 locations for sit down, one on LES and one on upper east + there is an appetizer location. Gets very busy on weekends, expect to wait an hour to eat. Try the lox, sable and caviar.

Paul N

Good staff and location. Over priced, over hyped.

Sandie Yi

Yummy bagels but quite expensive. Staff was super friendly.

Laura Juliá

There's a little bit of wait but it's worth it! The boards with different kinds of fish are delightful! They come with bread, bagels, cream cheese, and all the fixins. Great option to share. Staff is very nice and friendly. Plus, prices already come with the tip included, so don't need to extra tip.

Amazing. Get either the classic board or the roe bagel.

Possibly the most expensive bagel ever, but we decided it was worth it! Fabulous food and first-class service. Tip inclusive restaurant. Perfect for a light lunch between the museums and galleries of the Upper East Side.

Food is amazing here.

Nikki Mazer

Food us absolutely delicious! Atmosphere adorable and wonderful service...best part is the great take out department.

Marsha Strauss

Delicious, but overpriced and small portions. Very nice server though. He was great.

Skip this place. Head to Yura or champignon Cafe on Madison. Russ and daughter has v. Wierd customer service. They would not sell me a salmon platter to go said it was only dine in and I would have to eat it there. Line to eat there was 30 minute wait. Went to Yura got salmon avocado BLT and a smile while staying dry!

Eli Zimmer

Hands down, greatest Lox bagel in NYC

Eduardo Mendieta

Excellent food, great service, nice setting

Dean

The Kosher Brunch was to die for. So much food you wouldn't believe. We ate and ate. Breads and smoked fish and pickles and deviled eggs. The we finished off with ice cream. Talk about good. Make sure you got a reservation. That's the only to eat on Saturday... and you gotta prepay. Oy vay!

Bryan Verona

Found! Russ & Daughters has blessed the Lower East Side since the turn of the century. I recently learned that a purveyor of appetizers relates to food desperation for a Kosher restaurant. Either way, their fish is top notch. They have a couple of benches outside but plan on bringing it wherever you go, especially to your mother’s house! For more great reviews of the New & Authentic visit The Loupe!

Bagels were small and not toasted, salmon is ridiculously expensive

The best smoked fish and assortment of baked goods.

After reading all of the "need to visit restaurants" in NYC. I was really looking forward to eating here. I've got nothing against the food, it was absolutely phenomenal. The location was a little odd because it's right after the entrance to the Jewish museum. Our service was nothing to brag about either. It seemed the staff didn't think a second thought about their job. That's why I think this location deserves a three star or less. I don't know if it lives up to the articles I read about the original Russ and daughters I was looking forward to eating at.

Sandy Schupper

Old World in the New World. The finest "Jewish 'Appetizers'" anywhere. Every detail is perfection from paper napkins to your "nosh" with with very good service. Russ and Daughters in an Institution.

Sharon Li

Mandi LeBlanc

Delicious! Best bagel I’ve ever had!

Brian Cooper

Pricey, delicious, comfort food. Had to eat there at least once.

John Reeves

This place is great! Convenient rates, considerable portions and the employees are regularly welcoming.

Bruce Tannenbaum

Ate there Sunday for lunch. For the price I paid for 3 of us the value was underwhelming to say the least. Ithe initial cup of coffee was mud. And cold. I asked for a chopped lucer appetizer and it came out with my main course. My fiancé asked for slices of lox and 16 dollars later she was presented with 3 slices of Costco product. And to top it off o asked the server where do I put the tip on the credit card receipt. He said they only took cash tips. Then I found out the gratuity was included in the bill. Thief. Liar. What type of operation is this?? I certainly won’t be back. But who needs me?? There’s enough tourists to go around like blind beggars happy for a morsel of the famous Russ and Daughters name. Shame. Shame.

Omar Arnaout

Food is delicious as you'd expect but service was really off. We waited for an hour and a half for a table for Sunday brunch. When we were finally seated, the service was super slow and the waiters were really awkward. I think next time I would just do take out.

Dr. Alan Winder

Awesome füd. Truckloads of peoples

Nadine Bibi

The bagel/sandwiches we got to take away were very good, but not good enough to warrant $50 for two + two waters. Great bagels, but not significantly better than other places. The look and feel of the place was lovely though, old school cool.
