Fantastic food!
The lobster roll was simply amazing! The place is quite small and can have a queue unless you come in early. The lobster roll had a real 1/2 meaty lobster, which is also why it ends up costing 30+ dollars for it, but each bite was a pleasure!
Super fresh and tasty. The bronzini is amazing.
Host's service was terrible. I talked to my friends about the food which is awesome but we could not get in because the host forgot to put my name on the list, I felt sorry for your food because I know how good it is !!
literally one of the worst dining experiences. Waitress accidentally spilled half a bottle of wine on my mother and still expected us to pay for the bottle. So tacky and unprofessional.
Very cosy place with excellent food.
This place is a hidden gem!!!
While the food was tasty, the waitress was pushy, the quantity of the offering was insufficient to bring true value vis a vis the price charged. I had the clam chowder for $13.50 which consist d of a few potatoes, no bacon and was less than a cup large. Extremely disappointing outing.
Great little spot. Seafood extravaganza!
A small, cozy, local place with the best lobster roll EVER.
The most amazing cod fish sandwich I’ve ever had hands down! The vibe is cool & relaxing. One of my favorite neighborhood joints.
I have best seafood at this place!! Once you step in, it's feel like you are in small fish village and like your friend own this restaurant and they talk to you and smile to you!!! It's perfect place for few friends hang out or a date night.
This is your solid neighborhood west village spot in a clean/ rustic setting. While the food won't make your eyes roll back in ecstasy, everything on the menu is absolutely enjoyable. During your meal, you may forget that you are in the middle of New York City and not at the docks in Montauk eating fresh fired fare right off the fisherman's boat.
Best shrimp tacos I've ever had
Great sea food, love the lobster rolls
A little skimpy on the Po Boys . . . make a fella yearn for Peal's Oyster Bar.
One of our favorite local spots! Great food, real NY atmosphere, and neighborly service.
Awesome food. The atmosphere was a very comfortable laid back feel. The wait staff were polite and helpful
Get the lobster!
이 곳에서 인생 최고의 생선요리를 만났다. 가시는 분들은 꼬옥 skate를 뜨세요~~~
the lobster roll is to die for
I have been there twice before and tonight was the best one. Very nice selection of food. The first two times it was a bit salty.
perfect little place with fresh delicious food and great service.
a tight fit but the fish is good.
Delicious lobster roll, oysters and savoury hot corn cake with avocado an shrimps. Nice service, laid back atmosphere... be prepared for some wait to be seated as the place is quite small.
Expensive but the dishes were delicious, and the lobster roll is amazing
Get here early before they sell out of their divine Lobster Roll. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for their godly Shellfish Bouillabaisse.
Amazing little gem in West Village with spectacular menu items!
It was good, tight space, food takes a long time but it's good.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. Hands down.
Fried Clams and Oysters were superb especially with Mary's Tartar Sauce, Lobster Roll tasted fresh and creamy wifey had the Swordfish and Curried chick peas which also delightful. Rather go here than take the trek to City Island.
Very casual and cozy atmosphere for fish lovers. I actually do not like seafood, but I enjoyed the fish tacos I had anyway. Everything is always super fresh! When I went, there was a wait, so you may want to try calling ahead.
Wonderful
There is really nothing better than walking into a restaurant and being greeted with a huge genuine smile. The woman serving the tables was such a breath of fresh air! It felt like a special experience right away. And then, of course, how cute and cozy the restaurant is. I had a great glass of cold crispy white wine - the deviled eggs which were literally the best DE's I have ever had, the kale salad which was perfect in all it's delicate simplicity and the cod sandwich which was excellent. Dang. I wish I could re-experience it all over again right now.
Absolutely love the Lobster roll & fries! Best tasting lobster in the city! Best french fries, too!
My favorite place for seafood ever. Try not to order the lobster roll every time I come. That's always a battle because they are so very good. But you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Always worth the wait.
Fresh food and good quality plus welcoming staff. Best spot is at the end of the bar and go for the whole fish Thai style
A little pricier than I expected. Cozy place. The 2 ppl at the table next to us were WAY loud, which did affect our experience. Pictured are 2 of the entrées: 1) Sumac-crusted yellowfin tuna w/ sushi rice, avocado, shiitake, kimchi, fried shallots 2)Wild striped sea bass with turmeric potatoes & sweet /sour broth
The best coleslaw in the world! Great food
The best lobster roll in ny! Fried clams and oysters highly recommended!
Beautiful place....nice food too ...great services
Nice food, good atmosphere and great service
Excelente comida e playlist!
Have been here many times with family and friends. I will admit although I love the fresh raw oysters, fried sardines and clams, really everything seafood.....my true desire this time was for the chocolate sundae--love love. Get something spicy and have this delicious ending
Grazioso locale nel cuore del quartiere greenwich. Cibo buono e sfizioso. Consigliato!
Try the shrimp burger and the shredded brussel sprouts appetizer. Yummy!
Amazing scallops!
have a good fun
My favorite place for fish. The menu changes depending on the market availability. Salads and appetizers are amazing.
Great atmosphere, cozy seating, and amazing food. For starters, go with the steamers. Lobster Rolls are always a hit. Try the shrimp burger, too.
Great service but the best is the quality of fresh fish...oysters? Wow
Awesome
Get the lobster roll! It's excellent. Chocolate fudge sundae is great to share afterwards
Great local secret in the village, always fresh always interesting, make sure to order a few of the weekly specials
Really good - returned after 10 years. We got a lobster roll, cod sandwich and a beer. Came to 65 dollars excl. Tip. Lobster roll was lovely but small so sharing half the cod sandwich ( which is huge) was a good move.
Excellent Seafood in a Cozy Restaurant
Noisy, dingy, and cramp little hole-in-the-wall with rude and absent service and a comically overpriced menu. It's a shame I have to give it a star. To top it all off, I wouldn't recommend the food to anyone. Wish I could get that hour of my life back
not the freshest fish in new york...
Used to live across the street and we became addicts, moved across town but still come here when the city is disgusting and we want to pretend we're in Maine. It's that fresh.
The food was very good. Excellent bouillabaisse
There is no such thing as the lobster roll at Mary's!! It comes with delicious fries
Food was all very good, though it was a bit expensive for the portion sizes.
Everything was great. We were in and out in 30 min on a Saturday night. Oysters were spot on (cocktail sauce!!!) . The squid salad was pure flavor. The shrimp burger - I didn’t know what to expect but wow... The fries were the cherry on the cake.
I'm giving 5 stars for my first ever lobster roll experience! The roll was about 6 inches, with large chunks of lobster. It was saucy but not overwhelmingly so, and the bread itself is to die for. Crispy and buttery. Very friendly and talkative staff. Atmosphere was nice for lunch, lively but not loud.
The infatuation got it wrong. Mary's is like fine wine, it improves with age. She's the West Villages sultress of seafood. Come to swallow sandwiches or take a civilized approach with your silverwear. To Mary, love is love. I'll toast a cod sandwich to that.
Great atmosphere, especially if you get a seat at the bar.
Très belle découverte dans le quartier de greenwish. Poisson impeccable et acceuil chaleureux.
Good lobster rolls
Outstanding seafood with a cool vibe. The scallops were amazing. It was my first time and many more to come.
Favorite seafood restaurant in NYC. By far the best lobster rolls. Expensive but that is likely related to the location. Wait staff is awesome and nice wine selection.
good food but overpriced nice atmophere
Phenomenal oysters, clam roll, and draft beer in a cozy West Village location.
Friend invited me for dinner at Mary’s as it’s one of his favourite spots. I can totally understand why! The service was great, the atmosphere very chill, and the food was exquisite. I’ll now gladly recommend this spot to my friends as well!
Absolutely love the lobster roll and fries!!!
In a charming part of the Village, Mary’s serves the best seafood and lobster rolls that are to die for! All of the dishes are incredible, and the fries are beyond. The ice cream Sunday with real hot fudge sauce and home made whip cream is the best dessert in the entire city. This is an unbeatable lunch spot. Service is very efficient, so it’s not the best place for a leisurely dinner.
We stopped by chance... The experience made our trip great.. food was amazing... Every single bite
Can’t say enough about how mind-blowingly delicious everything is, every time.
If you want to pay $34.00 for a heap of good fries that cover up a very small lobster roll, you should go. Fish was fresh and well prepared, but very small portion also.
On a pas tout compris sur le menu
Beautiful meal, great seafood and wines. The staff are lovely. Get there way before 6 if you want a table. No bookings and popular - not hard to see why
Mary's is great seafood and a great place to go on a date. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait.
Very good selection of fresh, tasty seafood, creative dishes and beverages to pair with. Healthy and delicious!
Love
I wish there were half stars to give it 4 1/2. Loved this place. Great options and variety, decent prices. Lobster roll has nice big chunks. Worth it. Music is loud which makes conversation hard.
A wonderful find. Will be coming back.
Buenerrimo
The appetizers are a better deal, and more interesting than the entrees.
Very special fresh fish in Greenwich Village but $$$.
really bad, expensive, bad food, bad service
Been eating at Mary's for over a decade. Whenever I have a show to see in that area, you'll find me on line at Mary's first. The whole baked fish is always exceptional.
Never a bad meal here: been coming to Mary’s for years now & it only gets better. We were comp’d appetizers for a long wait for a table. The food is real & the service is great.
Amazing seafood! Get the lobster roll and oysters.
As always service and food was unique, delicious, with excellent atmosphere
Very nice place to go. The food is excellent and even if I had to wait almost an hour to be seated, it is deserved. A good experience ! and the french fries are perfect ...
The Yellowfin Tuna Mufaletta had a great spicy tang making me glad they had cold beer to go with it. Fun place...the staff was caught dancing the twist in during a lull in the lunch service. I'll be back
Matt other fav lobster roll place plus ed's lobster and pearl oyster.
Excellent
Delightful Sunday lunch at this popular and busy West Village spot.
Over-priced but worth going on a first date ;)
Surpassed Pearl's for the best lobster rolls in town.
One of my absolute favorite places to eat in NYC! Never disappoints!!
Solid - there is just a ton of great stuff here.
Pretty good lobster rolls for NYC, but as my brother always says, nothing really compares to fresh ones in the New England area, especially Maine. It depends on what you're looking for. The space is quaint and it's a pleasant eating experience. Is it as good as Luke's - maybe not, but it's pretty good still.
Good food in a tight squeeze
Is spence!
I've been coming here for over a decade and I have never been disappointed. We have tried many things but 2 staples that keep us coming back (and stay on the menu so others must agree) are the cod sandwich and lobster roll. Very friendly service with a laid back atmosphere.
Incredible food. Don't go if you're vegetarian though.
Amazing. That lobster roll. Oh man. That's all I can say
Amazing lobster roll!
Good: The lobster roll and the fish and chips were great. Bad: The steamers were extremely sandy - and gave me very bad food poisoning, I felt as if I was dying and didn't recover for days. When my husband called to tell them he was answered with a snotty "well, too bad but no one else complained." Right. This helps me how?
Classic!
Had really delicious seafood here. A bit pricey but its west village in the NYC, understandably. Waitress was friendly!
Lobster roll is fantastic; very fun & casual atmosphere.
come for the lobster roll, leave with the knowledge of the best seafood spot in NYC
Love it here, lunch or dinner. The food is always good; and service super friendly. Love sitting on the bar or the corner by the window for lunch or dinner. My favorite is fish tacos with any sides or appetizers for the season. So fresh, so yummy, so good
sweet little seafood shack; pricey but oh-so-worth-it for lobster rolls piled high with the most succulent meat.
Had the garlic, scallion, and cilantro mussel special as an appetizer and it was fantastic. Followed up with the lobster roll which was better! Great vibes and a great location. Will definitely be back for lunch again!
Love it, This is where I bring friends looking for a great NYC experience. I always sit at the bar because thats where the action is and its always fun. I cant even begin to describe the menu because everything is amazing. Its really about the whole experience. Go early though because theres no reservations and there is always a list
Great!
Alas, this was just what the warm NYC evening ordered. Relaxed yet vibrant environment with super tasty food. I had oysters, the lobster roll and the asparagus salad, all of which were prepared perfectly. Washed it down with a glass of Cava and finished the evening with the lemon-mint sorbet, which had almost a granada feel to it. Warning for those who aren’t mayo or creamy sauce fans: the lobster roll is prepared liberally with a mayo-based sauce. I loved it but if you are more the “butter and lemon only” type, give this a miss and get the soft shell crab salad that my mayo-adverse friend had. It had arugula, mango and other delights. Pro tip: call ahead if you have a group of 6+ to give them a heads up (no reservations), and if you come in by 6 you are usually not going to have to wait in a huge line. Enjoy!
My go to place for seafood. You can't go wrong here.
Overall, not too impressed. We got a selection of the oysters and there was one I really liked and I wish I could remember the name. We then got the fried green tomatoes which were fine. The fish tacos were a disappointment (very bland) but the fish and chip sandwich was good. The place is very small and jammed pack. A bit to close to your neighbors for my comfort.
Love this place ! It's NOT CLOSED ON SUNDAYS.
fresh everything. The lobster. The fish... Good beer. Get there early. Yum...
The lobster roll was delish, washed down nicely with the Yonkers IPA.
Lobster roll, fish tacos, desert and coffee. Just the ticket. No signage, simple decor... it's about the food.
BEST LOBSTER ROLLS IN THE CITY.
Great fish. I had the lobster knuckles
Delicious and fresh
Whole fish is great, but too hot. Need a better ac
This place never fails. The quality is top notch I’ve been coming for several years; each visit I wonder why I don’t visit more frequently. My favorite are the tacos, oysters, the fish specials and every appetizer. While some dislike the wait; I’ve never waited an unreasonable amount.
This is fresh fish!!!
Great casual hang with excellent food.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Delicious seafood thru the entire menu. The staff are amazing - always friendly. Get there and get your name on the list. They will call you when the table is ready!!
This place is AMAZING! The service, wait staff, and food were all beyond our expectations. I cannot say enough about how delicious the food is. This is our go-to seafood place. The owner, Mary, is also amazing and very accommodating. You will not be disappointed eating here!
Um surpresa deliciosa!!! Não julgue pela aparência... Meu marido e eu ficamos simplesmente extasiados com as delícias preparadas nesse restaurante. É daqueles que vc fica com vontade de comer também o que esta na mesa ao lado. Enjoy!!!
So tasteful and so cozy!
Lovely people, good food and wine. The white rioja wasn't as intriguing as I hoped. Should have got the whole fish instead of just a cut.
Everything Zagat promised. A delight, but not the place for a business closing.
Excellent pan fried cod sandwich, good service
Fresh Fish and good service. A bit expensive for some dishes but thats West Village prices.
Excellent whole fish
you can't miss the lobster roll. there are really no words to describe how good it is.
Tiny and intimate. Always wonderful food and attentive service. Usually a long wait, but sometimes you get lucky.
Tasty food, fresh products and very smily staff. Well done!
Best lobster roll in the city
Very good Lobster Roll. Not a big fan of the fries but I generally don't like shoestring fries.
One of my favourite places in New York! Everything we ate was amazing. The restaurant is really cute and cosy, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We wished we could've ordered more so we could try every dish!
It was an off night because this spot is usually good. My lobster roll was bland- not a lot of lobster and the seasoning was flat. The fries were cold and limp. The wine was good
Lobster roll 32 and looks tiny when it comes out...maybe because of the mountain of fries. Whatever the case, its excellent and pretty filling. 2 lobster rolls 2 beers n 1 clam chowder = $98
You might wait a long time to get a table, but it's worth it. Fish is clean, and not over-sauced. Good oysters and sides. Fresh salads. And one of the most wonderful locations in the village. Grab a beer on a hot summer day, wait out on the bench, and enjoy.
What a great place! Will come back on my next trip!
Love the lobster rolls! Been a big fan of Mary's Fish Camp for years. The lobster rolls call my name, but I've had plenty other amazing meals. Given the size of the space and atmosphere, it tends to be a very casual night. Arriving earlier in the evening helps avoid long waits. There are plenty of bars around the area to kill time, if needed. My wife and I loved the mini-chocolate sundays, so we don't have to fight for every spoonful.
Amazing seafood. You could blindly pick anything on the menu, and it would be a good choice.
Cosy place with amazing seafood. The lobster toll was excellent!
What a great experience! Food was awesome and service was outstanding! We waited over an hour for a table, but it was totally worth it. Would do it again.
This place is above average. A little small and crowded and expensive but portions are large and fish was pretty good.
Great homey little fish spot in the West Village. A bit pricey but good quality fish and service. We almost didn’t get the crispy fish bao buns, and they ended up being my favorite dish, so definitely get those! Would go back just for 3 orders of those
