REVIEWS OF Chelsea Market IN New York

Jingli T

Very interesting market. There is a very good pulled beef noodle place right at the entrance. A bit crowded and noisy.

Mother Bean

There is so much to explore and taste, it's incredible! From seafood, to grilled cheese, you can literally find just about everything. I had Japanese style tacos, lobster mac, regular sushi and some modern style vegan sushi. Such a great place for lunch or some light shopping. Check it out!

Tina Simon

This was amazing... you would never know how big it was inside standing in front of the door to enter. Amazing place great food to choose from. You will not be disappointed here. LOVE Chelsea Market Place and can not wait to return.

Joanna Rigby

Loved this place. My family still regret not eating lobster here. Lots of different shops and a liquor store! The only places to get drinkable wine.

Rich Levis

Wonderful N.Y. experience! So many shops, great places to eat. Chicken and waffles, yum!

ilaria b

Loved it loved it loved it. The Chinese restaurant was just the best. Going back to try the oyster bar

Lawrence Pavese Jr.

When the Chelsea market first opened I can't remember a time when there wasn't a crowd... It can be a little hectic at times, but it's a great destination spot and you're not lost for your favorite food... We like going for takeout and eat in one of the surrounding parks... No matter how crowded it was the bathrooms were always available and not that crowded.

H. T. Scaccetti

Interesting enough place to see but that's about it. Terribly crowded and most of it appears to be a young people hanging out...for all appearances just like your average shopping mall. It's a restored industrial building beautifully done and I'm sure rent in there reflects that...prices on food and merchandise in the various shops are New York high. Good place to grab a seat and just people watch.

Marcos Salvador Teixeira

Worth the while, good food, good product mix. If you are a tourist like me, I recommend you to have a meal there and then make the walk on the High Line all the way to the Vessel!

Cory Woytkiw

I've been here now 3 times and it still is a pleasure to visit. . Very busy, probably best too visit on a weekday, but what market isn't. Lots of different vendors and boutiques to check out. Lot of different food shops, everything from coffee, bakeries, chocolates, pizzas, sandwiches and seafood. Definitely the place for selections of food in one stop. Definitely worth a stop and check out.

Tarae Williams

Amazing place to go if you want to shop or look around. Either way you will enjoy yourself!

Nicola Palazzo

A Tourist attraction but should not be skipped. Some good restaurants and cocktail bars

Chris Kim

Great place to visit for food. The layout keeps the traffic flow moving. There are a lot of picture worthy areas. The bathroom is downstairs and it's well maintained. Overall, the market was clean and well maintained. The only downside is lack of seating areas.

Konstantinos Tsompanellis

One of the places you have to visit, if you are a fan of local treasures, value shopping and specialty dining. A local gem in Chelsea NYC, always busy & intense, that hides a lot of great shopping & restaurant spots, you shouldn't miss! We absolutely loved it, and came out of the market with few bags of exclusive clothing, gourmet food and memorabilia. Till next time

Maureen Huseman

Chelsea market is an old building converted into various shops with unique vendors. It was fun to walk around and look at all the different types of merchandise each vendor had. There was a grocery store and restaurants as well. It was artsy inside-decorated to where you wanted to explore the history of the huge warehouse. We bought several things. Reasonably priced and entertaining to explore. I recommend Chelsea Market

Caleb Pierce

This place has an amazing facility and very friendly shops. My daughter and I have now traveled from Ohio to New York and both times she enjoyed visiting the Chelsea Market to do a bit of shopping for her friends and maybe just a little bit for herself.

Ashley Vasos-Aust

Very busy and packed full of people. Not a great place for large groups, young children, or those carrying bulky items. Food selections are endless and delicious. Went to Hearty and Hale for grilled cheese and soup. Delicious. Sat on the bottom floor for seating (VERY LIMITED). Getting a table is like winning a small lottery. Patience is key.

Mikhail Guralnik

I like Chelsea Market. Very well designed on top of the old meat market. They tried to preserve as much historical facts as possible. Over a hundred year floor has been preserved as is, same a s walls benches and ceiling. Great place to eat.

Daryoush Nekooi

Great variety and quality of food. Check out the tacos place and the fresh noodles place. Wow! Queues vary, can be super long or short so good luck and, in both places mentioned above, they are worth the wait.

Alma Otaño

Just as beautiful as always, great ambiance, they have the best tacos in town. This place hold tons of eating places, and the food never disappoint, the staff is always attentive. However, do not try to take the elevators, they just go to private offices and they will ask you out of the elevator.

Lisa Velonis

Pretty cool place. Had delicious fresh noodles and nice to stroll around and browse. From there it’s good to walk on the high line up to the new shopping mall.

Marina Vanhemelrijck

This was SO much fun!!! Definitely come on an empty stomach! There was every type of food you could imagine and plenty of wine, beers and other fun foods and beverages for the whole family!

Victoria Parker

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. Warning it was packed. But there is so much to choose from there was never a concern I wouldn't be able to eat exactly what struck my fancy. Warehouse style food hall with light shopping and offices above main floor. I ate @ Cull & Pistol oyster bar. It was delicious. I would definitely go back and recommend it.

Bellamy Blake

Chelsea Market straddles a line that I didn't know existed. Its unique collection of equally unique restaurant and shop concepts are a draw for tourists. However, like any other local market, it has a number of very high quality grocery, meat, and produce establishments (including fresh daily Maine lobster with an accompanying sushi bar and lobster boil). This also makes it a daily draw for locals! It makes a visitor like me feel able to visit and enjoy myself unlike Times Square which I avoid like the plague! Will definitely be back

Laura Ireland

Cull &Pistol restaurant is amazing. They offer the freshest oysters I've had in a long time. The drinks were refreshing and service wad timely and incredibly accommodating. We will be back!

Zafreen Momin

Nice little market place with a variety of food and stores. Been here often to grab a bite to eat. Los Tacos No. 1 is one of my favorites. They have a variety of ethnic foods as well as vegan options.

Adam Pearce

Awesome market with a really great vibe. Lots of unique stores and places to grab food - local artists/businesses which is awesome. Take the high line here for a good way to spend several hours on a day with nice weather.

Annalisa Manga

amazing and has an endless quantity of cool/trendy things (towards the end of the market)

Christoph Seeger

Cool industrial setting and gorgeous little shops. A little pricey, but what do you expect in such a hip location. All in all very recommendable, even if it is just for strolling and cheese tasting.

FRESHTRACKS Consulting

Chelsea Market has lots a stuff to do. Starting with food, candy, chocolates, shopping and restrooms. Even if you are not planning on stopping here it’s worth walking through since it is extremely unique with the decor and architecture. Enjoy your stop like we did.

Jamie

Good place to go with every sort of food you can imagine with some cool shops along the way. You have to experience this if you are in NYC

McBilly Sy

My friend works here and it has a lot to offer. It’s a massive market that has a lot of fresh produce, organic offerings, stores, food and desserts. This is especially nice because it’s indoors so you don’t have to deal with the summer heat. Great for shopping or even just exploration.

Paula Andrea Rodriguez

I love Chelsea Market. You can find everything here. From vintage clothes and jewelry to exotic food like the Tahini cakes that are my favorite dessert!! Prices are not so low but is worth it

Sara Agai

Love that place! Good food snd good kitchenware store

Leonard Rapoport

Chelsea Market is an exciting place to visit, but unless you don't mind spending big money for food there, well you won't find much on a small budget. We noticed their fish and lobster market was packed with people sitting at the counters eating clams, oysters, lobster and other sea food. We walked over the the Lobster counter and couldn't believe the prices. $30 for a small lobster, and if you want a larger one you can expect to pay almost $100 for a lobster. Now I know the overhead in this market has to be huge, so for me and my wife a visit there is fun, but, we haven't bought anything there or ate there in the visits we have made to this Market.

Vitaliy Borisok

Not bad, but nothing special. Cool toilet.

Grazyna Jelonek

Marvellous old building with a great variety of eating and shopping options. Great idea for repurposing an old industrial spot. Recommend!

Morgan McNeal

It was pretty crowded, which I expected. And I know it's the city, but the prices still felt high to me. It's really hard for me to want to spend $15 on just a hamburger. But, it was still very beautiful and clean and had lots of different places to look at.

Caleb Peterson

Really awesome collection of small/local eateries. Everything smelled amazing. The Chelsea local downstairs had an awesome assortment of Italian foods and fresh fruit. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon but it's definitely something I'd recommend experiencing.

Stacey Ramirez

So much to see! If nothing else, you'll get a kick out of walking around. It's the best place to end a long walk on the High Line (depending on which end you start). Although shops tend to be in the "higher- priced" end, you're sure to find something fun and unusual to nibble on. Also... some of the best tacos ever are tucked inside.

Mike P

Nice staff with good food. Outdoor seating available. Nice decor, with beautiful bathrooms.

John Ro

Don't know what all the fuss is about. It's just another indoor market. But I guess it's a thing to do if you're visiting NY. Lots of good eateries though. Just look out for the rats. The furry four legged kind and also the two legged kind that walks upright.

Joshua Dutton-Reaver

A fantastic market featuring a wide variety of quality items.

Salvador Galarza

Best place for Tacos so far in NYC. When they started each taco was in two tortillas. now it is only one tortilla for each taco. Real Mexican tacos come in two tortillas. It is crowded but the line advance quickly. They should update the menu in the wall, not all the options are displayed.

Tanya Singh

My absolute favorite place to eat different kinds of food all in one place. We went there in the morning and ate our breakfast/brunch by trying different things.

Billy H

This is a very big market place. There are a lot of stores and food places to visit. Just an FYI, it does get busy and very crowded. When you enter the building the inside decor is very urban street feel to it. Remember to put this down on your agenda list. Trust me, you won't regret visiting this wonderful place.

Mel

My first visit to Chelsea Market. It was a nice place to visit. A little confusing to make your way around but worth the visit. Loads of really great food options and cute little shops.

Imogen Fox

Loved Chelsea market, it offered so many different places to eat and buy little bits from. I liked that our party could all eat different meals but all sit together. Chelsea overall was one of my fave places in NY!

Dez A

I love this place. I'm here every so often to film at You Tube Space. Love Fat Witch brownies. Love the waterfall and the overall vibe of the place. The shops are pricey. Like, aimed-at-tourists-cos-they-don't-know-that-they-could-get-this-stuff-cheaper-just-about-anywhere-else pricey. But it's nice. :)

Reichen Yoo

Literally it’s very tourist place now. But why not? A lot of the restaurants and shops with the good food. And the gifts and handmade stuff stores. You also could learn the history and the past time about this place. Nice to walk around. Better visit there in the morning before the lunch hour to void the people if you mind walking in the crowd flows. And don’t forget to keep your stomach for there. I’m sure you could find some food you like.

Richard Lin

It is the heaven for Foodies. It is ranked as one of Top 100 places must visit. Los Taco is my favorite. It is hot & fresh. Price reasonable. Steak, Chicken & Pork are all great. Strongly recommend

Elie Akotia

Really cool place to spent the day, filled with History and food. A must see. Book tour with "AFoods of NY Tours" was well worth it. Joe was our guide. Very fun and great food. Had a great time!!

Harrison Kurt

Amazing range of shops! Incredible food and some interesting boutiques. Had a lovely afternoon.

Yi-Nung Yeh

I have been here multiple times but only for the lobster and chicken. There are many chocolate shops which are good for gifts.

Eric Schwab

It is neat place with lots of shops and restaurants not sit down. The style and feeling is kind of hip and fast going. it's hard to really describe but if your in NYC I think it's worth a visit.

david duong

Stop by if you're hungry, curious or in the shopping mood. There's something for everyone in here. Tacos are amazing. Fresh oysters are a must try!

Chinyere Onwudiegwu

Me And my BF went to Bienvenidos just for the tacos. Definitely recommend! Tacos were very seasoned. Gotta try the green sauce

Pratik Paddle

Definitely worth a stop in. Great place to shop, eat, and grab drinks. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is because there is a lot of tourist traffic. Great place to go if its too hot or too cold outside. Added bonus, the High Line staircase is right outside...

Cherie Tam

Loved it! The food was amazing, you can try out so many kinds of food. The shopping was great too with a lot of unique stores. Would definitely come again!

Orpheus Crutchfield

Classy, obviously re-done. LOADS of food options, much of it seafood. Looks like a self-sustaining community in-and-of itself. Its fun to look around. It is located adjacent to the High-line. Very nice; it is most closely resembling the Ferry Building Market in San Francisco.

Ashley Diane Currie

Love this place. Busy and touist-y, but still good NYC history.

Jeannel Garcia

If you have friends visiting the city and you're looking for a place to stop for a meal and a little shopping that seems like something a local would do, definitely stop here. It gets pretty crowded but tons of places to eat. Great place to get some gifts.

Joseph Cabalquinto

A vibrant market so very much like a slice of New York! Great one of a kind jewelry, shirts, crafts, etc. and loads of food offerings! Fantastic bakeries, desserts, seafood and more. A great place for locals and tourists alike.

Jessica Diep

Great market with a lot of great restaurants, artisan shops, and food markets. If you can, definite check out the Filling Station. They have a truffle salt that is delicious and you can bring your own container to fill it!

Daniel Patton

Fun atmosphere with great foodie restaurants. The "Lobster Place" was a great spot for lobster roll and chowder. They even give you oreos as the building is the old Nabisco factory.

Ima Ortega

It was really cool seeing what the old building has been turned into. You can’t stay hungry because they have dining options for everyone! The built in art features are also really cool to look at as you walk through the seemingly endless maze of restaurants while taking in delicious smells of culinary creations.

Jonathan Bartlett

An atmospheric place where there are always a lot of tourists. A lot of different food here. Delicious croissants, aromatic coffee, a huge selection of spices, seafood. Great gastronomic experience.

Mark B Borg Jr

Fun place...nice place to visit with out of town guests. Great location, what with the advent of the High Line and all. Always nice to take the kids there for a stroll through what--for us here in Lower Manhatten--would ultimately help out youngins to grok what goes on in middle America and worldwide suburbia: Some approximation of a mall. Albeit a good one...should such things exist.

Nikki

a necessary NYC destination for tourists!! lots of amazing food stalls if you want a quick bite. not so many places to sit and eat though, so just keep that in mind. tons of little stores selling tiny chocolates, brownies, etc that would be perfect to give as souvenirs. can get uncomfortably crowded on weekends so plan accordingly.

Kylee Kresge

It does get packed, but its a spot that must be visited. A bunch of cute little shops, and great eateries. Definitely will be back.

John Bostick

you will find everything! if you come from mexico after a trip you will love to see that you can get many of their sauces and sweets here!

Felipe Amarante

Bunch of street food kiosks as well as located in trendy Chelsea. Had an entire steamed lobster and it was quite a interesting experience. Place was quite crowded and full of tourists and queues were everywhere, be prepared to wait for your food. Restrooms are also available, but no water fountains.

Maria Fernanda Alvarez

This place is AMAZING. Packed with tons of restaurants, shops, retail stores and so much more! I could easily spend 3-5 hours here trying out seafood, shopping for souvenirs as well as purchase a new outfit. It is the perfect spot to try out new foods and spend a rainy day in NY indoors. It is also extremely close to The High Line.

Cindy Hsu

This place is always amazing! Lots of interesting stores. Amazing seafood. Including lobsters, oysters, clam chowder and so on. A lot of local artists, which is worth checking. Would always love to go here but sometimes it gets quite busy with lots of tourists so be aware of that!

Gavin Williams

Great place for food and a little look around! Reasonably priced and tasty! Definitely worth a visit if you are in NY! Head over to the Starbucks opposite after for a talk how they make coffee too!

Racheal J

Nice, clean, and affordable. You can find lots of exotic fruits and spices here, along with squid ink ice cream and good Dominican food. Everyone is nice and friendly but this place can fill up quick.

Jim Shepherd Jr

Man, this place was awesome! All the food and little shops, clean restrooms, there's something for everyone here. Came by bus so can't speak of the parking but easy to get to by metro and a short walk

Ezra The Derpy Derp Melon

Homemade and classically New York. The prices are okay and the food is impeccable. It is a great farmers market and is very conveniently located. Although it is not the best spot for unique New York, it is a great place to take a rest from the city with a nice walk through the somewhat busy market. The vendors are very amiable and kind and the food trucks nearby make the entire place perfect for stopping for a snack.

Daniella Ramone

Amazing place to visit and eat! You can eat food from different countries, spend a lot of time getting in touch with spices, cheeses, wines, decoration and still hear a good jazz, at the end of the day. Seems like a small piece of City far from NYC.

Lily Le-Sheppard

I visited Chelsea Market for the first time in 11/2018. My sister was visiting for Thanksgiving and wanted to go to NY. Chelsea Market was recommended by a friend and boy, we weren't disappointed. Chelsea Market has a little of everything: shopping, local artists' crafts, and most importantly, FOOD! I was so impressed by the different options for food and love the local crafts market (that rotates the artists). We enjoyed it so much that when both my sisters came to visit in 3/2019, we went back to Chelsea Market. :)

Praveen Kallakuri

A vibrant indoor series of shops and eateries. Every thing from locally made products to vegan burgers. Great place to meet and entertain.

Cameron Embree

Really enjoyed the experience walking through here. Tons of shops and places to eat including a great coffee shop. The ambiance is amazing here! Pay close attention to the floors and walls and character of the place!

Your VW Guy Raj At OpenRoad Volkswagen

Great market and Los tacos no 1. They have no 1 in their name & I don’t think, they need anything else. Love from Vancouver.

Owlie Ru

This market is amazing and very convenient if you're wanting to pickup a few thing. We picked up a quick lunch to take to the highline and have our sandwiches outside. I love it!!

Laura

One of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in New York City. This is a beautiful restored factory building with history that you can learn about from photo wall displays. It's been completely redone into a trendy urban industrial market with a meandering rustic walkway scattered with artistic elements. It's filled with many shops serving a wonderful variety of food, drinks, treats, gifts, and other things. It's usually packed during weekdays and on rainy days and is almost always somewhat busy. Great place to wander, tasting food as you go.

Jeremiah Gonzalez

Highly recommend stopping in the Chelsea market any time of day. It’s such a nice place to escape the weather if it’s too hot or cold or rain or snow. Inside you will find everything you’ll ever need, from donuts to clothing, spices to notebooks. You must come and look at what is here, the restaurant choice covers all the bases having something even the pickiest of eaters would love. Stop by walk in and go explore you won’t regret it!

Brian Tricoli

This is am amazing place. It is full of eating places and quaint shops. A big variety in one place. The atmosphere of an old factory setting from which it was made from adds to the experience. Will go back again.

AnyaPanda

Primarily geared towards those looking for gourmet foods. If you aren't interested in food, there are a few neat clothing, accessory, and novelty vendors to check out, however I recommend going if you're mainly looking for food.

Nic Duersch

Tons of fun shops/restaurants inside the market! The environment is busy and fun. Everything here is CLEAN. Which is refreshing. There is enough to do here that you could be here all day shopping and looking around. Everything is very reasonably priced as well, including the food. It is right by the High-Line as well, which is a must see if you are in the area!

Travis Ludbrook

Love this place...A must for all foodies visiting NYC... The lobster rolls are worth the trip

mustafa Suwaylih

Amazing market place. You can find a lot of interesting restaurants and vegetables store. Alps, it’s near everything you need. One block from Starbucks reserve. And less than minute from high line.

Karlene Thompson

Lots of tourists. Too many people for comfort. We had Thai food that was good.

Thanh Bui

Great vibes. Good way to hang out with friends and family. Lots of food options. Would recommend the lobster place which serves sushi. There's also shops to support local artists and community.

Jake Vithana

Go when you're hungry. Explore the multitude of eateries and try anything and everything that takes your fancy! service is quick and you get a chance to try a wide array of delicious food!

Alonso García

This is a great place to find one of a kind gifts both from local artists and from around the world. If you're not interested in shopping and would rather sit down to have a bite, you will not disappointed. There's quite a wide range of international food options all throughout Chelsea Market. Just be ready to wait some time to be seated, as some of these places are oftentimes pretty packed. The only downside is that it can quickly become a New Yorker's worst nightmare, as it is nearly impossible to walk through the slow walking tourist crowds. Overall, it is a great place to find things and food that you would otherwise not find at other big malls.

Stuart Hilton

Could happily visit here every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner if we weren't a 6 hour flight away! Absolutely top notch. Tip - make sure you have a good walk around first before grabbing something to eat. There are so many good options. Some interesting shops to browse too if you have the time. Will definitely be on the list of places to go to if we return to NY

Nancy Worth

Jam packed on a saturday, but so full of fabulous places I didn't care. Delicious food everywhere, jewelry, stationary, home goods. I could spend hours just looking at the pretty things.

Adnan Naseem

If you are Carrebean food afficiando.... Believe you me, this quintessential NY market has a new taste explosion counter "Ting" named after a popular Jamaican soda. Chelsea market never gets old

donjaime23

Came here to spend half a day, saw everything after an hour. A lot of fun, but it's a lot smaller than it looks on the travel shows. Come here for a snack and some foodie pics, not for a destination.

Peter Buckingham

So much fun! We were here at about 9 pm on a Friday and there were still a lot of vendors open and plenty of people enjoying their meals. They have just about every food that you could want. Lots of stands and restaurants with seating. The space is also really interesting. We enjoyed walking through and looking at the architecture as much as anything else.

Sarah-Jane Ward

Great experience though it is important to say that this is not a traditional market as we had hoped. This was very much a hipster experience. This is half of the Thai shrimp bowl, which was delicious. There are very few places to sit and it was extremely confusing figuring out how to access the market from the Highline.

Lamia Alami

I absolutely Love that space! The decor, the food, the atmosphere ... There is simply so much to see! I really enjoy walking around. So many great stores with unusual products. Most shops tend to be in the "higher- priced" end. It’s close to the High Line´s Chelsea entrance.

Cassandra A

Loved this market. Lots of food options and cute shopping be sure to stop by the Lobster place. They have great steamed lobster and cute sushi spot and of course you can buy fresh fish and seafood to bring home.

Kristoph Cles Aban

After walking on high line park, I went to check out this place. It is bustling on a weekday, and it is a tourist trap, but I enjoyed it! There are good food choices and small local and artisan shops. If you have visiting friends who have varying diets and want to take them out somewhere, then you can bring them here! It will not disappoint.

Eric House

Really cool indoor market. Lots of shops and lots to look at. Don't miss the banana gelato at the shop near the 10th Ave entrance. Los Tacos No 1 also has some great good.

F Parvaiz

Good location next to high line park, not much of a 'open air market' as much as a rustic mall type set up. Lots of unique shops for gifts and food. Nice place for some photos

Papa

This market place has lots of shop and places to eat . Very clean inside. Also liked the book store large selection.

Rupalee Ruchismita

Explore and dig deep. Don't settle on the food places 5 minutes in. The best kept secrets( an amazing Ethiopian place) will need a bit of searching to be found.

Sam

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in NYC. Loads of small food vendors and a few craft and fashion shops, really wide range of food, will be something for everyone.

Virginia Crespo

Unmissable! Industrial building filled with local artists and good food. I could spend hours in here, just wandering, looking at handmade jewelry and other pieces, having great coffee and food. Very lovely people everywhere. Great place to spend some time, even if you're just nearby, go in and stroll through

Chelsea Market is a food hall, shopping mall, office building and television production facility located in the Chelsea neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan, in New York City. The Chelsea Market complex occupies an entire city block with a connecting bridge over Tenth Avenue to the adjacent 85 Tenth Avenue building. The High Line passes through the 10th Avenue side of the building. Chelsea Market was constructed in the 1890s and was originally the site of the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) factory complex where the Oreo cookie was invented and produced. The complex was redeveloped in the 1990s and features a retail concourse at ground level with office space above. Chelsea Market is currently owned by Alphabet Inc., parent company of Google. Chelsea Market lies within the "Gansevoort Market Historic District", which is recognized by New York State and National Register of Historic Places. Suggest to visit if you are in Chelsea neighborhood.

Tom Wright

Large collection of mostly food shops with a good range and variety. Some clothes shops dotted around too. Top food stops include the Taco place, the Donut place and the Noodle place. There is a lack of seating so be prepared to swoop quickly if you see a spot open up!

Danika Rockett

My opinion is that it's just too crowded in here at almost any given time, to the point that it's not enjoyable. They do have a few great shops, including a stellar "head shop" with some extremely interesting items, and an oyster place with an excellent happy hour - if (and that's a big IF) you can get a spot. I work in the building, so I'm probably also a little biased about the crowds being annoying. It's a good place to visit if you've never been, so take my 3-star rating for what you will

In Ki Cho

I loved fresh oysters there. Food was so good, but the coffee was okay. Still the coffee was better than Starbucks. Starbucks Reserve is in short walking distance away.

Lisa Peery

What a neat place to grab dinner! Awesome stone floors, exposed brick, cool shops and everything from Japanese-Mexican fusion to macarons to eat. Had grilled baby cauliflower and steak and fried egg wrapped in a pita. More food than I could eat, and delicious! It was especially nice because it was a brutally hot day and it was naturally cool and lovely. This is one of my new favorite spots.

Stephen Taylor

I should have visited this earlier. The architecture, decor, and history are all great. The food is top quality. The book store in the market is also fantastic and much better than I would have expected. The only downside of the market is that it's a bit frantic and packed, but that's to be expected.

Leandro Santos

I've been living in NY for 12 years and I've never seen a place like this one. So much variety and so much to do. I just loved it and I will definitely come back!

Mark S

Plenty of food and shopping to keep you busy for about 3-4 hours. We decided to avoid the tour and just explore on our own. This place has tons of variety and the prices are not too bad for the area. If you want to eat at Los Tacos I would suggest getting there a bit before the lunch crowd because it can get crazy. There was a crepe sport that serves a very large crepe you create and macaroons that were to die for. Great food and great shopping make this a must see during your visit to New York.

Shalini Priyadarshini

We were there for a short time. Cobblestone walkways, old European vibes a bit like a mall the food are had some good places to try. We didn’t spend too much time here. The seed+mill halva shop is well worth a visit!

Bing Reid

I love this place! It’s a place for foodies! It also has a ooo space where you will never know who will be in the space and what interesting things to buy - from clothes, to jewelry and bags! There is my favorite Italian grocery food store that also has already made Italian food ready to go. They have moved from the main floor to the lower level. It has food courts from Chocolates, bratwursts to crepes and sandwiches and healthy options too. There is the bakery, wines, unique pretty floral shop, kitchen appliances, just a nice market that is much better than the predictable malls. It’s NYC local shops carrying wonderful things! There’s also a butcher, Baker as mentioned candy maker. Also spices. Excellent tacos where the only time I was able to get something quick was when they first opened - now always a line.

Nicholas Ong

Fun place to be and there is this shop selling sample branded clothing at a discount where my wife and daughter enjoys treasure hunting! They always seem to find something to buy but not sure it is what they wanted or just the fun of finding “treasures”! Food is interesting although price is on the high side for what’s being offer. Interesting tourist spot. Recommended.

sandrine Gilbert

Beautiful market! Perfect if you're a tourists! Have many restaurants with all type of food! No problem for the vegan, you'll find something! It is very clean l. There is many people, but the place is big enough for is to move. It is near of the end (or start) of the high line! You can find gift for your friends and family! For the hot day, there is air conditioning! And we have a very good service

Todd Landry

Wonderful market with a mixture of eateries and shops. Nicely done history to show the past to present.

Georgina Arreola

This is a great place to grab a bite but it is very busy so come prepared to wade through the crowds. That said I have found the service to be fast and the facilities are clean. Convenient location from the metro and Highline!

Carlita Salazar

I use to love going to Chelsea Market but it's become a tourist trap. Packed with people! And some of my favorite stores there have been replaced with trendy eateries. Won't be making an effort to visit this place anytime soon.

Worth a visit if you're a tourist. Lots of good things to see and eat. Definitely come willing to spend money. I would recommend coming early after opening before it gets too busy, because it is an absolute zoo mid-day.

Top notch market! Love the atmosphere and the variety of restaurants and shops in here. One of my favourites has to be the lobster joint which serves full size steamed lobsters. It’s a little pricy but definitely worth it! If you are feeling hungry also try the crab roll!

Sora Kang

Mostly crowded with tourists and the local foodies

Margie Nix

Great variety of places to eat. Wish more eateries had regular tables and chairs instead of high chairs and high tables. Needs a restaurant with more seating space. Everyplace we thought about going into had no more places to sit and eat.

Gianna Terrarosa

Great place to visit! Lots of places to eat and shop. Very chill and relaxing environment. Nice place to spend time with family or alone. Prices are very reasonable.

here is amazing place. there are so many store which have their own unique atmosphere. I love this place. The whole place was renovated into amazing place. I hope you guys go there and enjoy

Great place to shop and eat. Great food but very busy and very touristy. Staff in the shops and restaurants are very friendly and the atmosphere was nice to spend the afternoon with the family. Will definitely be back on future trips to NYC. Also really enjoyed the performs in the common areas. The day were visited there was cello player, really enjoyed listening while we are our food.

Good place for food lover! I tried The lobster place and Amy's bread, like both! There are also stores for gifts. Next to High Land Park so you can visit them at the same time.

I could live at Chelsea Market. There's not one thing about it that I don't love. From the historical building, the abundant food options, boutique shopping and people watching, you're bound to enjoy yourself.

Daniele

Loved the Chelsea market. It's a nice market with plenty of places where to grab a bite. We went to have some sushi at a fish hall where they prepared sushi right in front of you. We then had a crêpe and freshly grounded coffee at other places. There is food for every taste in a chilled atmosphere. Loved it.

I love coming to Chelsea market. They have all these amazing shops and food vendors. My go to vendor will be "los tacos no. 1" but they also have other amazing foods like Friedman's", a lobster place, bakery's , wine shops , supermarkets, spice shop, chocolate shops and coffee shops there's so much more but be ready to walk around in a crowded scene. I always come on the weekends in the afternoon and it's always crowded. It's definitely worth the trip. I would recommend trying to go during the non rush hours since some of the lines can get long. There's a variety of food in here so many options for everyone.

Crystal Villanueva

Really great place to walk around, but we got there right at 8 am and ALMOST nothing was open but the plaza itself. As a tourist, it was great to walk through the entire site untouched by the chaos that consumes a hot spot like that but we came hungry and left disappointed...

Christina Wang

Love Chelsea market! So much variety, and local shops. It's usually always crowded but there's something for everyone. For food, there's everything from burgers to noodles to sweet desserts.

Ronald Grootveld

Many nice shops. Unique ambiance. We eat thet very tasty and spicy noodles

Sarah Wisor

Such a cute place to visit! I highly recommend the cookie store- so many unique little and big finds. There’s a gelato shop, bakery, place to get drinks, meat shop, hot sauce tasting place, cheese shop, etc.

This place is a must see if you’re a foodie. My partner and I visited and spent a few hours here. There are tonnes of places to grab a coffee and a wide variety of food places, from tacos to deli sandwiches, it really was amazing. There are quite a few independent shops there as well, so whilst you’re taking a break from the treats you can find some really cool and interesting stuff. Also a tip, once finished, you can walk to the high line walk as it starts not far from the market!

Patrick Conlan

Great choices of food from around the world, always busy to be prepared to queue. Come to browse, eat, or just people watch.

Los tacos is the place to go. Its crowded and I don't like that also finding a place to sit will be very hard so unless you don't mind standing and eating good luck. Other than that it's great. Altogether the time it took me to wait on line, order, and recieve my food was 20 minutes which is not bad at all. There's a variety of food to choose from and at least one place that everyone from your friend group will enjoy going to.

S Frant

Lots of people. Good choices for food. Not good for places to sit. If you don't mind eating while standing, then go. Shops in meatpacking district are better.

Nikki Carter

Super fun, several things to do. Found amazing food inside.

Bobbie Seffens

Close to the Highline... so nice place to eat after THAT walk. Old warehouse area repurposed to numerous restaurants, gift shops, food stores. You WILL definitely find something, maybe more the one thing you like to eat there!!

Andrew G

This market has a plethora of different shops and restaurants that range from a fried mozzarella spot to a high end lobster eatery. They also have a wine shop, sweets and spices/HomeGoods. It's definitely worth a visit if your in the area there is something here for everyone

Christopher Focht

Wall to wall with good food and drinks. The Japanese inspired Mexican food was delicious. It can be hard to find a place to sit and the staff is extremely uptight about only using their seats if you buy from their booth.

P. C.S.

My sister was making fuss about how great this place was. Reality I wont go back, unless it is very close to my home. Oyster was great. Luckily I went there during happy hour so I got it cheaper.

Andrew Chang

Good taco place in NYC. Cannot compare wit California area but still good enough to revisit.

Todd Mordente

This place is awesome. Get out the Sun and do a little shopping and eating. They have a good variety of both. If you are vegan there is options for you as well. Nice place to shop. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

shamal kumal

Such a great market with something for everyone. Fabulous food vendors and great little shops selling unique things too. Much better than the time out market new York which is trying so hard to be this.

Anne Fernandena

The Chelsea Markets are really unique & well worth exploring. Apart from the obvious historical interest, there are plenty of interesting shops, and a plethora of great looking & delicious smelling food places! We went to Miznon. The service was fast & efficient, and the food was fabulous! Then, it’s a great place to stop & spend time before walking the High Line.

Patrick Rolon

Best place in the Area. They have so many options of food and little shops. Can definitely get crowded because it's a tourist hotstop but overall the place is amazing. Almost as good as Reading Market in Philly.

Dicken Doe

Nice enough and some original charm remains. I wonder if I am ten years too late though, all a bit scrubbed and touristy, might have been more fun if it was a bit shabbier

Dr. Naresh Mahajan

A must visit place in a trip to New York. Located adjacent to the High line, is a good place for shopping and food where you can enjoy spending 3 -4 hours, but mind it every thing is a bit too pricey. Must spend some time having a look at local craftsmanship.

Madelina Nieves

I love this place, you can find a variety of fruits and vegetables. And many more delicious food's. Naturally Delicious.

Candace Leebrick

Such a range of appealing food options, just too little dining space. If you want to pick up something to take with you, this is 5 stars. If you want to slide off the High line and eat here, good luck.
