Diane Drosos

We have just eaten dinner here tonight. Food and service both excellent! I am originally from Liverpool, this food definitely tasted just like home! Big portions and very reasonable prices ( we have plenty of leftovers)

Patrick Mooney

I’ve gone elsewhere and been disappointed by Bangers and Mash...not so here - they nailed it. It was deliciously spiced; I couldn’t get enough. As was my wife’s Cottage Pie and our curried cheese fries...worth the trip. (They even brought us frosted pint glasses for our Bass Pale Ale)

Kathleen Carroll

Enjoyed pulled pork and french fries at Haddonfield's Truck Fest. Delicious food, excellent service.

Kyle Waeltz

Me and my boyfriend love this place! I know it sounds gross but the garlic marmite wings are amazing! Definitely worth stopping in for a bite!

Sheryl Newman

Lively restaurant

June Mallon

Ate until we were stuffed. Credible version of all of the British foods that we sampled. My personal favorite was the chips with cheese and curry, though the Scotch egg was also lovely.

Josh Johnston

Very delicious! New owners are very nice!! Was there for Marvel trivia and was excited for the special desserts!

Katie Kostin

We just had Sunday brunch here. The selection is very British. I had to Google some dishes because I had no idea what it was! The scone was amazing, and the rest of the plates where delicious, if not a bit on the small side. The decor makes you feel like you're in a traditional English pub. We will go back again.

Diana VanMorter

Totally cool place! Delicious, authentic food. Great ambiance and fresh baked shortbreads, scones and other sweets. We'll be back!

Laine Hazard

Always great food. We met the new owner and are very happy they won't be closing. Looking forward to new menu items.

Evets emanlluf

Great fish n chips and great service! Will definitely be back when I return to the area.

Erin T

Slow, doesn't matter the shop.is closing in Dec

Mike McSloy

The food is great. The service is a little slow but good. The desserts are simple but delicious. It is in the middle of the Haddonfield shopping district.

Nathan Squires

Excellent food, great atmosphere, good prices. Not great if you are lactose intolerant because I want to try it all and sadly can not.

Karen Jennings

Enjoyed a Pot of tea, with a delicious salad - fresh greens, cranberries, chicken, apple and walnuts. Followed by a fresh scone with cream and jam. A bit of the UK in New Jersey. A lovely way to spend an Autumn day.

Tom Jones

I expected more from the review. It wasn't bad at all, just nothing special.

John Knorr

Nice spot with very good fish and chips (I had the haddock special). Also got a Scotch egg and the boy got grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup. Will definitely be stopping back.

Aaron Williams

First time was great. Second, third and fourth below average. They say they’re open until 9 then are rude and sassy when you try to order (pick up) at 8:25. “Kitchen’s closed”...SLAM. Really wanted to go back but that will be the last time I bother trying. Wish I could put 0 stars.

Scott Coulter

Good food and service

Ofelia C.

A little pricey, but totally worth it. The options they have for vegans and vegetarians are pretty good.

Melissa Doran

Love the fish and chips but not as good as they have been in the past. And only had one waitress for the entire restaurant at noon on a Saturday.

Mark Gollihur

Great Pub style food in downtown Haddonfield. We really enjoyed our lunch here, and it was very tasty. The atmosphere is a little overly manufactured, like Disney but without their budget, with plastic brick work throughout the dining room, but that's a small complaint. At least they're trying to bring that feel.

Allen Frisch

A nice little cafe that looks like a British pub. Great food and better service!

Maria Mmk

I went several times with family and all enjoyed their meals. I am sad to see it close. Given the right circumstances I would visit again. Unique spot. Desserts were tasty.

Catherine Braunstein

Cute place to grab a bite to eat while walking through Haddonfield. Food was good and fresh. Pricing is hard to describe. Overall the food was a good value, but some items ($6 for a small cup of soup?!?!) were definitely not.

Michael Jeffries

Loved the food! The ambiance! Haven't been there in two years. They changed hands and the only thing different was the mushy peas.

Erin Rizor

Terrific food, atmosphere, and people

Noreen McAneny

Fast, delicious and nice atmosphere!! Close to Scottish Rite. A good place to grab a bite before a show.

Debidewdrop61

Best Sausage Rolls, Fish & Chips, Bangers n Mash British Eats I've ever had in America. The flavors transported me back to England. Chef Ian nailed it. They even have the original Irn Bru! Very clean, friendly service. Olivia and wait staff go above and beyond to make your dining experience top notch. I highly recommend The Chip Shop in Haddonfield.

Cody Bolger

Three of us ate there today. Everything was exceptional, food and service wise. Our server was new there (she said) but you wouldn't know it! I foolishly left my wallet at the restaurant after we'd left with a significant amount of cash in it. I realized 20 minutes later or so and called, and they had it! I am extremely grateful for that, as you can imagine, and we'll definitely be back!

Ed S

Tasty. Cute location.

Nancy turner

Best Fish and Chips in NJ Why I go there.

Ted Swirsky

The atmosphere was nice and the waitress was ok but definitely looked like there were other places she'd rather be. No personality and certainly not very welcoming. Many reviews mentioned the inconsistency of the food, mostly the temperature of the pot pies and the undercooked chips but we decided to try anyway. Middle of the day, not at all crowded and no excuse not to have perfectly prepared food. While my fish was fine, my wife and my chips had many that were soggy and under cooked. There is just no excuse for that - especially when so many people have mentioned it. I can't believe management doesn't know about this problem by now and, having failed to successfully address it, I have to wonder about how things are run there and what other problems they have and will have. My wife's roast beef sandwich was ok but a bit on the dry side. The Sticky Toffee Pudding (warm date cake with toffee and vanilla ice cream) was very good, but, like most of the items, I felt it was over priced for the size of the portion. I would like to try the other items on the menu, but I don't feel it's worth going back.

Sam Poat

This place is fun and I really enjoyed my burger. The fish and chips is great too. I love the English theme and soccer focus with the games showing.

Kimberly Adams

Fish & Chips were perfection

James Knorpp

Great food but a bit pricey. The small fish and chips was $13 but the food was excellent. Small place and even though I was there for lunch on a Tuesday there was no wait. The service was prompt and friendly.

Patience

It's pretty good, with excellent quality food. It's also owned by a Brit,

Nick Cifuni

Gone way down hill.... Formerly 5 stars! Not surprised because they are moving locations, but I tried brunch today and got a waitress who looked like our presence was a nuisance. Totally flustered, she didn’t even get our drinks correct ...two sodas and an iced tea. She gave me water. Will not waste my time going to the new location. Terrible experience

Linda Ley

Walked into the shop waited 5 minutes before being greeted and seated. On our way to our table I noticed paper place mats on each table except ours. I ordered Fish&Chip to share with my daughter. Our drinks didn't come in until our food came out. I didn't fuss about it. Still no paper place mats for us :( The moment I poked my fork into the oil drenched, fried 5 times fish, it crumbled and shattered. It looked like the chef finely chopped the fish and fried it five times. I thought using my hands would be easier ( I thought wrong)! It shattered in bits and pieces all over my very brown, dried up fries! Waved down my waiter and asked him if they were supposed to be like this and even showed it to him and he replied, " yes, they are supposed to be like that." Our whole experience was a disaster and we felt extremely disappointed at this place! Service was bad, food was poorly executed, not fresh, and tasted boring.

Jeff Hawarden

Food was fantastic, best fish and chips we have had in forever. Had a pot of PG Tips to go along with my dinner. The chips are hand cut and perfectly seasoned. The curried cheese fries were just spicy enough. The decor on the walls is very British, images of the underground, Big Ben, London Bridge, the Parliament Building and more. All parking is street, no car park. BYOB, and save room for dessert. Try the date cake....

Elizabeth Pardi

Went there for Mothers Day after another kept us waiting 45 minutes after our reservation time..First choice next time. Friendly great service and delicious food had a wonderful dinner. Prices are very reasonable.

Alexis Student

Great food and service! Everything is so delicious and fresh. I really enjoyed the vegan veggie curry. It was so well flavored and tasty. My husband loved the cottage pie. They even have baked goods to go, which all looked very yum. We can't wait to go back.

patrick haggerty

Tasty fish and chips, very friendly staff and owner. The bangers and mash were also great. Enjoyed our visit.

Juan Almada

Best damn fish and chips in the known universe! Must have!

Andrew Allen

Excellent, unique food. Will be sad to see them close. UPDATE: They have not closed! Praise the Queen!

christina crowthers

The food was great!!! Very nice atmosphere. Nice friendly service

Dean Eson

Everytime consistent food quality and service

Christopher Anderson

Way over priced.

Laurie V

I love this place, however what I witnessed tonight was mean. I am a waitress, and sometimes it can get busy, but there isn’t any reason to degrade an employee in ear shot of customers. There is a such thing of constructive criticism vs degrading. And the waitress was nice, thorough and personable.

Tyler Barna

Great authentic British cuisine. Small menu, but I believe this allows them to make only the best dishes they can for a very affordable price. Be sure to try the variety of short bread cookies they have!

J A

Get the Irish Stew! And obviously the fish and chips, for God's sake. It's The British Chip Shop after all. My girlfriend and I get those two things every time and split them and we're never unsatisfied. I will say that it is a little bit pricey, but it's a good "once a month" place.

Denise Buzz

Small Business Saturday. Wanted to support them. Have eaten there in the past and had positive experiences. This was God Awful. Held hostage for One Hour and Thirty minutes for 4 glasses of water and two lunch salads and two lunch entries. Orders were missing key components. The extremely rude waitress was annoyed when we asked for the missing items. The food was atrocious. The service was worse. The manager argued with us when we complained. WILL NEVER GO BACK, and telling all my friends to avoid this place like the plague. Will also no longer patronize their sister establishments - The Victoria House and The British Gift Shop. A proprietor who runs such a horrifically unprofessional establishment will not get my business.

Margo Koehler

My friends and I just picked up and ate the one order of fish and chips and the Potato leek soup. 25$!!! I had to put the the fish into my toaster oven after the first bite of the mushy and wet fish batter. You could tell it was rushed in the fryer. My friend said his potato leek soup tasted like ham and been soup from a can. The fries looked like they would have been nice if they didn't get put directly under the soggy fish right from the fryer. I was really excited to try this place for the first time. But this is a horrible meal. :( especially for the high price.

John Brown III

I loved it there. Nice and homey feeling. Service was great, food was excellent. Highly recommend if you like British Food!

timothy mcardle

The fish and chips were awesome !!

Tiffany Azevedo

Fish and chips are always a must here, but everything I've had from the menu has been great. Phenomenal decadent desserts as well

Rich Hull

Good old British grub. Was always a good place to eat. Now under new management and it’s even better.

tim olmstead

Food is good, atmosphere is nice, servers are friendly.

Linda M

Cozy is a good word for this place. There aren't a lot of tables in here so I can see that it might get crowded. I went at lunch time and there was no wait but almost all tables were occupied. Food was good and service was as well. We had the fish and chips and a salad and both were prepared well.

Charles Ross

Fantastic customer experience as always! Food was great!!! BYOB and divulge into the generous and delectable signature Fish and Chips Entree. They have tasty pub snacks. The Devils on Horseback and bean dip are a must if you stop in.

Peggy Jurow

Outstanding! Better than your Memom! Can't wait to go back.

Lainey Landstra

Fish and chips were so greasy... fries were drowning in it. Not very tasty at all... disappointing!

Elsie Hornblum

Absolutely love this place! Some of the best British food you can get this side of the pond. Great Sunday brunch full English breakfast.

Glenn Mallon

Very good food. I sampled a bunch of food with friends, most if it is very authentic. The Cumberland sausage isn't great, but the fish, scotch egg, sausage roll and chips with cheese and curry sauce are all amazing. Highly recommend this place to everyone, especially if you're British.

Steven Schick

One of the better restaurants in Haddenfield. Very good and clean. Great food.

Don Kimenker

The good: bacon wrapped blue cheese stuffed dates and their fish. The bad: won't seat you if you arrive 29 minutes before closing. "We don't seat anyone 1/2 hour before we close and we shut the kitchen off right at 9". We arrived for my MIL's 81st birthday after 15 minute drive and they turned us away. Get there early - their closing times for dining room are 1/2 hour earlier than listed. Apparently they don't realize they're in the restaurant industry where 95% of restaurants are happy to seat you until their posted closing time. We instead went to The Cheesecake Factory - which (I asked) seats people up til closing.

Josh Dunn

The fish and chips are as authentic as you can get and all of the sides are spot on. They have a large selection of authentic English pastries and desserts. Their Sunday breakfast is fantastic with options like Bubble and Squeak and the Full English Breakfast. I'd say this is the closest you'll ever get to an traditional English dining experience outside the UK. The only downside is that they do not serve beer as Haddonfield is a dry town.

EHRisser .

Excellent food, friendly servers, quick service, great atmosphere - the new owners are wonderful and doing a phenomenal job! Will definitely return.

Scott D

Claims to be authentic fish and chips, but felt more like a greasey basket of ehh. I wasn't impressed at all as it was quite soggy and didn't taste great and the portions seemed quite small for what you pay. The price of doing businesses in Haddonfield is quite high and I just wish you got what you paid for and here you don't.

Raymond Rizzuto

Great place for English fare. I loved the scotch eggs.

Louis Soto

Great fish and chips

Chuck Perritt

My 88 year old mother said the roasted ham sandwich was the best sandwich she's had in her life

Mr Ross

We have dined here several times for both lunch and dinner. Service is always good and professional. Decor is nice and cozy. The food is consistent and delicious. We always get the Scotch egg as an appetizer. Have tried the fish and chips and the bangers and mash... both were great! Portions are big and you will leave feeling full! Their tea is good as well. An all around good dining experience.

Debra Banecker

The fish n chips delicious.... Quick service

teresa hatcher

Service wasn't great, but it was during the fall festival so I'm willing to give them a "we were overwhelmed" pass. I ordered the fish and chips, the fries were undercooked and the fish was very greasy and a little soft. I was disappointed because fish and chips is one of my favorite dishes and this place came recommended by a friend. Overall disappointed.

Brandon Kaback

Excellent food! Excellent atmosphere, wonderful staff. Ticked all the right boxes for my wife and I, we will most definitely be returning.

John p Gannon

Excellent food! service was very slow it was two women running it and just did not seem to care that it took 50 min to get an appetizer out on the table. Waitress kept avoiding us. I went here a bunch of times and there is usually two guys there who are on top of everything. I will give it one more try hopefully the service gets better.

Bonnie H

Oh my goodness! This place was great! We had the sausage roll and devils on horseback for apps. Amazing! Then we got the “small” fish and chips and still it was a big portion. The fish was deliciously fresh and the batter was perfect. The fries (aka chips) were perfectly done with some nice malt vinegar at the table. We were so full but just had to buy an assortment of shortbread to take home. Can’t wait to return and bring friends. Thank you!

Jim Stapleton

The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield recently changed owners. The food is excellent and it is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. We went for a Harry Potter Trivia event and it was a lot of fun! Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy British food!

George Cleavers Baldwin

Every thing is roses. Get great irish cap-hats and frozen selection of meals.

Johnny Mack

Great food & service!

george klepac

Loved the experience. Fish and chips were excellent and even the potato and leek soup was satisfying on a cold day. If you find it bland, add seasoning. (Or bring your own). Only one server, so get there early or embrace the wait. Totally bring your own lager to enhance the food.

Carlton K

For the price that you are paying, this place is not at all worth it. Service was honestly terrible. I see on here it says they’re a “quick bite” but it took our server a good half hour or maybe even longer to bring our appetizers. After that, didn’t see her again to take our order for like another good 20 minutes. By the time we finally got our food, our drinks were empty and she didn’t even ask if we wanted/needed anything. They forgot the tartar sauce and since she never came to check how we were on everything, I had to go up to her and ask for it. The food itself was mediocre, I had giant burnt chuck of something in my dish and our fries were undercooked. In total we spent maybe a good three hours there while other tables were coming in and going with no problem. My friends and I went in for a birthday dinner and were really disappointed. Don’t waste your money guys.

dtilli .

Great food, great service, great atmosphere

Simon Robertson

Speaking as an Englishman, My father and I love this place. WE always have good food when we go there. The Fish and Chips is awesome. The Brunch on the weekend is great as well. Prices are not bad and the staff is great. We have never had a bad experience there.

Steven Adames

Let me say that despite the rating, i do enjoy this place. My main issue is the inconsistency of the food leading to some really good experiences, as well as bad experiences. Two separate occasions of ordering the Cheddar Mac & Cheese, the first time believing it to be the best mac & cheese i have ever had, and the second time tasting nearly no cheese and under cooked pasta. The price is worth it when the food is good, but it's a toss of a coin if that will happen. The service is great, except when you call for takeout. The staff are kind and friendly, not overly attentive, but focused on you enjoying your experience. They have made many mistakes on bringing the proper food/drink, but always quick to fix it. My biggest issue is with taking out food. No matter what time they tell me to come pick up my food i always have to wait an additional 15 minutes. Overall when everything is working right, this place is amazing. More often than not, the food comes out tasting ok, just having the novelty of British cuisine to give it more appeal than it deserves. Worthwhile to check out and experience food you might not traditionally have, but keep your fingers crossed the food comes out well.

Magus Tony Brevitt

Good authentic British food

Michele Temple

Interesting - some things we liked & other things not so - but it is a cultural thing. Good people

EoTwP .

Nice little place, had the stew, and it was awesome.

Abdullah Almalki

They have a nice store with tons of British gifts and foods!! The atmosphere is very "England". The service was extremely friendly. I'm looking forward to the day when I can go back! I've recommended it to some friends as well!!

Leah L

I’ve been here twice before and ate in, neither were super memorable but we were getting take out and chose to try them again. The food was disappointing, I got a vegan curry. The rice that came with it was dry and rock hard like it had been sitting out all day. The small amount of curry that was on top was mediocre. For 15$ for the dish it was an absolute rip off. I won’t ever come back. Spend your money elsewhere.

Bradley Honsinger

Wonderful food. The fish and chips never disappoint, but now I may be coming just for the roast beef sandwich!

Mike Ruppert

The place looks nice and clean, the wait staff seems nice but we couldn't figure out why we were the only people in the restaurant during dinner hours but after eating our dinner we figured it out, let's start with the wings $ 9.00 for 6 very small meatless frozen way over fried wings with hardly any sauce wasn't a good start. The $13.00 Big Ben burger was missing flavor and way overcooked for me, I dont get the 2 giant tomato wedges that came on top of the burger, just two nice normal slices of tomato would have been perfect after all I ordered a burger not a salad. My wife didn't like her dinner she also thought it was missing flavor and chicken, I'm not going to go through all of our family's compliments but being a restaurant manager and chef I wouldn't go back there until they made some changes. The British chip shop needs to relax and add some fun and flavor in the food, provide slightly bigger portions and use fresh food and that place will come back to life. P.s. use fresh wings and make your own ground chuck those two items are the easiest things to fix and it will keep that restaurant busy.

Heather Ferguson

Quite disappointed since I've had a fixation on this restaurant for quite some time and never got to go, but my visit took the wind from my sails. Immediately upon sitting down we were given the List of several menu items they weren't offering that day. The oil was old, so all our food was brown. My mom's Sheppard's pie had a load of cheese grease on top and on the bottom. My son's chicken nuggets were over done. The shortbread cuts we got were stale; but we should have known the issues when we saw only one occupied table at lunch time. I'm very sadly, not going back.

Dakota G

First trying this restaurant/ style of food and it was delicious, food portions and flavor is good.

Violet Sigloch

NEVER COME HERE! THEY ARE TRYING TO POISON YOU WITH THEIR AWFUL FOOD! First, the lady brought out the milk for my younger brother, and I tasted it and it tasted like cheese. THEY GAVE MY BROTHER EXPIRED MILK! Then, they brought out my same brothers eggs, and they were freezing cold, and hard as a rock! Then, they brought out everyone’s food except for me and my sisters eggs and bacon, and when they finally came out they were cold too, and the bacon tasted like chicken. NEVER COME HERE. I’d rather eat McDonald’s for the whole day then eat another meal there.

John Citro

Huge shout out to Maddie!!! She absolutely made our night! Super friendly and I ended up just ordering everything she recommended. I started with the Flatbread (unbelievably fantastic), went on to the Cottage Pie (dude, seriously! Wow!), and ended with the Sticky Toffee Pudding (um, holy moley melty yummy!). My coworker and I were deciding between several restaurants and we thought this environment sounded fun, and we walked out with huge smiles on our faces and very full bellies. But ... what made it all next level was Maddie. You rock!

Donna Seravalli

The best! Love it

Michelle Wilden

the new owners are doing some great things. Try one of the specials — you won’t be disappointed!

Mel Johnson

Love the Scotch Eggs and Sausage Rolls.

Jason Pierson

The marquee item, fish & chips, was pretty underwhelming. That said, the chicken & mushroom pie was outstanding. I just expected a more authentic experience regarding fish & chips from a place calling themselves The British Chip Shop, with a logo shaped like a fish. Also, $18 for a "large" order was pretty outrageous. It was 2 average pieces of fish and a fair amount of fries. Fortunately, many other items looked fantastic, and there is a wide variety of desserts.

Amy Jeannette

One of my favorite places. Quaint restaurant , friendly staff and the food is great! My fave is the fish sandwich and ginger beer. The portions are rather nice .

Michael Coffman

Seems like service and consistency of food have improved over the past few months. A good place to go for a quick bite, and a pleasant alternative to the other pub options in the area. Bonus points for the availability of a bowl of curry as a side dish.

Archer Jadephoenix

Great food, inexpensive, and friendly service. You honestly cannot go wrong here.

Valerie Illuminati

I've been here in the past and enjoyed it, but hadn't gotten food here in a couple of years. I wasn't impressed with my food this time, unfortunately. I got a fish sandwich and fries, which were ok.

jessica driscoll

Food is so good. I usually have the Irish stew but they were sold out so I opted for chicken and chips with curry sauce for the chips. Everything was so flavorful and delicious!

Tandy Pancakes

Had a craving for fish and chips so I decided to try this place for pick-up. Wasn't crazy about the fish as the pieces were a bit flimsy and soggy. I'm wondering if the 10 min drive in a box affected them. I'm used to crispy fish portions. The taste was average and but still very filling. The malt vinegar dip was a nice addition. Overall, not crazy about them though.

Ian Wardell

Fantastic place. Great cottage pie. I was there on a Saturday for lunch .

Rob Haley

New owners are wonderful...as is the food!

Jeff Federline

Good, but English Food does nothing for me! Went with a friend!

Alan Semon

One of many shops and eateries along the main street in Haddonfield NJ. Has a definite British feel to it. Food was delicious and well-prepared. Our waiter got our dessert order wrong, but it all worked out well enough. Parking can be found, but it takes some investigative driving. Prices were reasonable. Tables have HP steak sauce as a condiment, delicious and totally British!

Garima Gupta

Went here last week, they changed the Irish stew item- they no longer serve it with soda bread and the stew lacked thickness and flavor. The coronation chicken salad was good and the Madras curried fries would have been amazing but they lacked cheese and there were more fries than topping which was frustrating. Overall a decent cheap meal, ($20 per person) but I found myself disappointed, perhaps because of the dishes I chose. The last time I was here was in 2014 and the food was fantastic, this week not so much.

ava Runge

Not Bad. Food was good nothing mind blowing. The Service was really good, and with a baby it helps to have good service

Audra Curry

The food is good and authentic. People that are complaining about things being bland have obviously never been to the UK. The food here is very tasty and the staff is friendly. We stop in a few times a year. Try the bangers and mash!

Rich Haynes

Food was excellent. The price was pretty good. The staff was very friendly but a little slow.

James Thompson

Good food great service. Lauren is outstanding

TJ Howe

I've been here three times before, and have tried different dishes. For the fourth, I got the bangers and mash. It was well seasoned, and nicely presented. The portions could be a tad bigger, but overall, the dish was tasty!

jay hiz

Food was good waitress was nice. The place has a pub feel and the food was similar to British pub food. Not amazing, not bad.

Kathleen Dallara - Pennell

Always a positive experience! Great fun and atmosphere is fun. I LOVE the Coronation Salad. Never had any food that I did not like:-) You must try it.

Patricia Martin

I LOVE to go to the British Chip Shop for a meal, but dread the wait staff. They're slow and appear to be disorganized, and one in particular was rude and disrespectful. Hoping that was just an off day.

Tim King

Has a great UK pub feel. Traditional dishes were all very delicious and authentic. Though it helps that they offer some American fare as well (great burgers!)

Kevin Tustin

Great food and atmosphere.

S C

Sold a 100 gift card and then refused to honor it. Claimed they just bought the business and didn’t establish escrow with prior owner for gift cards. Made us pay. Tried to tell us we had to track down the prior owner. Missing the fact that they bought the business and everything that comes with that. Actually made me pay. I told them I can never come back and they didn’t care. No wonder empty on a Friday night.

Donnie Moreno

This was probably the third or forth time I've been here in past 10 years and each time I hope it would improve. It's not terrible but not really anything worth crowing about either. The place is decent size and they play soccer when its on which would be my main draw in coming here but I could also watch at home and make my own fish and chips. The small order was one piece of cod, fries and one small bit of tartar sauce. The location is great in the middle of Haddonfield and we had a groupon to use so we at least were happy about that. The waiter was ok...maybe because he was only waiter on the floor but seemed kind of just there without being of consequence one way or another. Making our own fish and chips with our air fryer will be first (and second) option before coming back.

Mina McWhorter

If you're near this you must go, it's amazing.

Craig Pennell

Great food. Love everything I tried on the menu. Has a pleasant atmosphere. Especially loved their fish and chips and coronation salad. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys tasty food.

Alex F

The place is pretty good. Their burger is what I get all of the time. The wings with curry sauce are delicious as well as the fries, with or without the sauce. Fish and chips are not bad, but the batter on the fish is a little oily for me. Their brunch is pretty good as well. The cookies are done well. My only problem with this place is that the food and service are not as good when they have a Groupon available. It creates an influx of new customers and I feel like they cannot keep up with the demand.

Glenn Gulbin

We had a visitor from across the pond who was so thrilled to enjoy a little taste of his homeland. Enjoyed the shop across the way too.

Joseph Cifoni

There is a short stocky guy who calls himself a manager and he comes off in an arrogant way. Some of the waitresses aren't trained properly to serve either. Food is good but the service and management needs improvement.

joe Fal

Fish and chups were great!!!

Abby Zahn

A disappointing dinner. The Seafood chowder lacked spices and very small amount of seafood in my portion. Soup was served warm, not hot. The popular Fish and Chips were fair, breading not tasty, the same for the Chicken and Chips. French fries needed more seasoning and served hotter. The service was good, but not planning a return trip so quickly.

Samantha Smith

I had the chicken and chips. Chicken is very juicy and tender but just very bland. Needed some sort of sauce. My husband had the veggie Shepard's pie. He said it was soupy and just ok.

Charles Perron

We parked nearby in a convenient city lot and had a very good lunch. Welsh Rarebit, a beef stew, and a chicken sandwich were all very good. The chocolate tart was also great. The price was a little high, but other than that it was a fun place and good food.

Ralph Gonzalez

We've now been there several times and love it. The food is rather eclectic with wonderful flavor. They take an ordinary meal and turn it into something special.

Great atmosphere. Fish and chips were light and well prepared. My wife and I came out satisfied but not overfed. Very reasonable prices for the quality of the food.

We love TBCS & have been going since they had opened up, I want to say circa 2006, as nobody offers REAL fish & chips & other British culinary delights around here. Our favorites aside from fish & chips are: Welsh Rarebit Potato Leek Soup Ploughman's Lunch Irish Stew Cottage Pie Bangers & Mash We love the atmosphere & decor & it seems that the customers are all as friendly as the staff. We've only been able to enjoy 1 Sunday brunch due to its popularity but we'll keep trying as it's simply awesome!

What a great experience! My wife and I look forward to going again.

If you are from Philly and need an excuse to cross the bridge, this is it. All the food is delicious. I'm a dedicated patron for over 5 years. I enjoy coming here. Best fried foods. English food has a bad reputation, but this place changes all that.

M Walter

Our party had burgers and fish and chips. Food was very good. Good service too.

cher Su

Best food, service and hospitality! Went for a girls' lunch and we all enjoyed ourselves!

Kristen Merritt

I had the Fish and Chips well worth the price. Nice size portions and I ordered the small. Staff is helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Todd Taylor

The fish and chips were good but a bit pricey for the amount of food you get.

Helen L

Good food and fast service. $13 small and $16 large for fish and chips, fresh cod, thick-cut fries, generous portion, food came out very hot.

Sigyn

The food is great, the pastries are delicious, and the service is prompt and friendly. Some of my favourites are the Scotch egg (good hot or cold), the Irish stew, the chicken and mushroom pie, and the Coronation salad.

Sherri P

We were ignored at the door and had to wait so long to be seated ( and they were not busy). Waited 10 mins just to be asked for beverages. Potato Leek Soup was gross and cold, garlic wings didn’t even have the slightest hint of garlic. Fish and chips you think would be good. Horrible! So soggy and greasy like all the other reviews say! Waste of money.

Sherry Jankowsky

First time for lunch and simply delicious. Such a shame they are closing business in December.

Aerial Bear

Great British-style food and atmosphere. Don't miss the desserts.

David Hazard

First time eating here, and will definitely be coming back. Great fish and chips and scotch egg

Rob Reynolds

Good fish and chips, authentic sausage roll, and the chicken pie is good. No beer though

Suhaila Johnson

Fish n chips are so good. Just wish the chips were seasoned more

Good food

Place is trash. Meals definitely not big enough and over priced. Poor service I couldn’t even get a refill on a water and there was about 6 other people there. Definitely a no go.

Haddonfield is that dream town from the fifties, part of it's charm is The British Chip Shop, and the Brithish Shop across the street. The British Chip Shop gives you a complete old time British tavern menu, of course including Fish and Chips. While it not rolled up in newspaper, it just like the old country, and teast great ! Not in the mood for deep fried fish, No matter what you order from the extensive menu will be great. eNJoy

Everything was fresh and delicious!. Our server was on the ball. Filled our tea when ever we needed it. We had the best salad, bangers and chips, and a rotisserie chicken sandwich with a salad. We asked for our chips to have the curry cheese on them and they did it for no up charge. I wanted to taste half the menu, so many great sounding dishes. We were so happy with our choices. Be back soon!

Love it! Good atmosphere and excellent service!! Vegan friendly

chips were good, roast beef probably not the best choice, won't comment on Mac n cheese.
