Fabulous experience. Ultra fresh seafood, good service with great shore ambiance. I took some out- of -town relatives to the shore for the day and two very nice Belmar police officers who were patrolling the boardwalk recommended Klein's. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend Klein's to others. The icing on the cake was that we met the owner on our way out and she was very nice and informative.

I went there for the first time last week. It’s really a great place for dunks and seafood. I ordered the twin lobster. There was a little wait but not too bad and we killed the time at the tiki bar. The restaurant is Waterside but not exactly open water. Seems to be an inlet bordered by bridges and train tracks. But waterside nonetheless. Parking is difficult by they have valet.

Met friends here at Klein’s for lunch on a beautiful June day and it was a great little spot, right in the heart of Belmar. It’s right on the water so you can dock and dine if you please. Loads of fresh seafood and specials at reasonable prices. The building is like 4 small buildings combined and pretty long so parking is never too bad of an issue unless it’s very packed. There’s regular seating and a tiki bar as in between both sides of seating, so although we went at lunch I could not imagine having every seat filled even for the dinner rush. Of course this is a good thing because the service is quick and table turnover even quicker when you are waiting. The food was good, service was very good and it was just the atmosphere that there of a seafood spot on the water which fit the day and the weather perfectly. If you’re in the area and big on seafood I would definitely stop by. They also have other non-seafood options, which are good as well. I would be curious to see how it is later at night may have to return just for the occasion.

Some of my girlfriends just took me to this fish market they have a very nice outside area that they cook the food and bring it to you the snow crab legs are very well priced they bring you bunches the clams and spaghetti I didn’t like too much, the fried shrimp was to die for!

Really does not matter if the food is ok or not when the service is as bad as this. We arrived at happy hour, barely 10% of tables seated, waited for drinks, waited for apps, waited for order, waited for food, waited, waited, waited. Really unhappy for the price of admission. Did not get what we ordered, cold food, really frustrated. So here’s the real kicker, and this gets at the heart of whether or not an establishment cares about its patrons or not, they did nothing to make us happy. It got busy, they are happy because of the ignorance around them. I will never return to this place, and recommend to everyone, they go someplace else, there are as good if not better, everywhere. Someplace that cares about the people they serve, the community, and trying to make things better. This place is not it. A gift card. Not even the price of two happy hour drinks. I understand as a manager, repeat business, but I just gave the gift card to the table next to us, maybe they had a better experience than we did.

My experience was so so but I would give it another try. The seafood market area had very fresh seafood although a bit expensive. The restaurant food, I got fish and chips, was bad. The fish was defrosted too quickly and was crumbly, dry, and mostly breading. I would give another dish a chance when I’m in the area.

Let me first say that for over a decade, every year we go down to the Jersey Shore over MDW, and every year our first stop is the Kleins Cafe. Yet another great experience! Our waitress, Kayla was wonderful and very accomidating and attentive. The place was packed as usual, and we waited almost an hour to be seated. She reassured us numerous times our food order was in, and she was very apologetic for the wait. I have had a handful of servers wait on us in the past at Kleins, and she was certainly our favorite! My elderly mother adored her as well, (and she is usually very difficult to impress, ha-ha.) Thank you Kleins for the great seafood and service! We will be back

Amazing food and even better customer service. Everything was fresh and the time between the appetizer and the entree was perfect. It allowed us to savor the flavor of our appetizer( We had the Old Bay Wings), have a conversation and be ready for the entree( I had the Flounder Platter, my wife had the Blackened Salmon and my daughter had the cheeseburger sliders). All our entrees were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The same length of time was given between the entree and the dessert( I had the Key Lime Pie, my wife had coffee and my daughter had the cheesecake).The same amazing tastes carried over to the desserts. Overall, it was great all around with no complaints. The prices were on par with any restaurant of this caliber. We went on Easter Sunday and the turn around to get our food was faster than any chain restaurant ESPECIALLY on a holiday. They also didn't price hike because of the holiday which was even better. I highly recommend this restaurant! I wish I could give it more stars because it was that good.

Bad food, expensive, small portions, no parking. As soon as you sit down you’ll get the mediocre bread that foreshadows the badness you are about to experience. Surprisingly half the menu is sushi, which I believe a person shouldn’t want from a place like this; in short, the food selection was poor, wish I reviewed menu online before coming, but didn’t. Next all entree prices are around 20 dollars, which I got a fish & chips that tasted nothing like 20 dollars. I’d say the food is a little less than good, but not horrible; wife got pasta same feelings. At end paid 60 grand total for two people, totally not worth it. I absolutely will never come back, but very nice seating area by the bay come 'n' try : ]

My wife and I took our kids here after a long day on the beach. We were seated fairly quickly given how busy it was. Talk about PHENOMENAL!!!! From the service to the food and drinks everything was literally perfect! My two little ones had their food before my appetizer came out which is perfect because 4 and 5 year olds typically expect food the moment they say they are hungry. Price was very reasonable as we fed 5 for about $120 and my wife and I both had an alcoholic beverage. If we are in the area we will certainly be back!!! Heck we may take the 2 hour drive to just to come here because it will be well worth it. Noelle ( I hope I spelled it right) took great care of us. Kudos to you and kudos to Klein's we loved it!!!

Excellent seafood. Nice ambiance. Would go again when in the area. However, the last time we went, we ordered Clams Casino and Oysters Rockefeller. The Oysters were excellent but my wife and I always split the appetizers so when we each had one, they were BURNT TO A CRISP! When the check came the clams were still on it so I mentioned it to the waitress and her answer was that the manager said we ate some of them. Most places would just take it off the bill. After some hemming and hawing, they did take it off the bill, but what crummy customer service. I expected better from a restaurant of that caliber.

WOW! We decided to try a new place for our Easter brunch this year and are we glad we did! We had a 1pm reservation and we were seated immediately. The waitress came right over and took our drink order and it was off to the buffet. As one who doesn't eat seafood. I was a little nervous, but as I approached the table. That fear was gone as soon as I saw the delicious meat choices! Roast beef, ham, turkey and lamb! Tons of seafood for my wife to choose from and plenty of scrumptious sides. All the food was fresh and amazing!! I would have to say it was one of the best buffets I've ever had to date. I would say without a doubt. This place is #BunkaApproved !!!

This place was not very good. I was very hungry. So me and my family went to Klein’s fish market. When we got here we had to wait. But it was for 40 minutes. which I can understand. But instead of 40 minutes we waited 1:30. This was not fun. When we finally got into the restaurant we ordered our food. This took 45 minutes. When we finally got our food we found out that our waitress lied to us! Some of our items that where ordered did not have the stuff on the side like she said. In the end the food was ok. but this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had

Nice place overlooking a marina. Spacious. Nice bar area, clean bathrooms. Not a fancy place, more a casual family dinner type of place. Decent food but nothing to write home about. My Alaskan King Salmon was dry, which should not be. The red quinoa side dish was very good. The whole lobster had a lot of eggs in it, didn't look too appetizing. The scallops and shrimp were good. Would come here again, but more for the locale than the food.

I would the seafood is fair at best and for the prices I would have thought better. No one really there on a Saturday night; maybe that suggests something. Calamari was deep fried and small; the fried flounder was not so fresh. Maybe a good pit stop for a drink and appetizer, and see the boats go in and out of the inlet, but that is about it.

It started as a simple, quality fish market and turned into quite a wonderful place. My parents shopped there for fresh seafood, I'm 64 and have been going since I was in diapers. You picked what you wanted, they cleaned and boned your fish as you watched as they still do. Wonderful atmosphere and staff. Beautiful scenery looking out the inlet watching the fishing boats and nice ocean breeze while enjoying an excellent meal. Menu selection is great. They also have happy hour.

Have never walked out of a restaurant in my life until tonight. My wife and I have been coming here almost 10 years, have even brought several friends from out of town here, but we were absolutely disgusted with this establishment tonight. After standing at an empty hostess stand for several minutes without acknowledgement from the 10 plus waitresses scurrying around a 1/4 full restaurant as if they were too busy, we are finally greeted by a snobby hostess with an attitude who seemed annoyed that she was interrupted with whatever she was doing to actually do her job. Ok maybe she was having a bad day, annoying but not the end of the world. Well after sitting outside on the deck for over 10 minutes, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR waitresses walk by during that time with zero acknowledgement that we’ve been seated there. No, “I’ll be right with you” or “your waitress will be over soon”, nothing. One of the waitresses handling tables in our section walked by three times, doesn’t say a word. Well we think this is weird but maybe we’ll give it another few minutes. Finally a couple is seated in the next section and within seconds has a waitress taking their drink order. At that point we got up and left. Not my job to chase down a waitress and wasn’t in the mood to fight with some restaurant manager over horrific service nor did I feel spending money there on principle alone. As we walked out we walked directly past the hostess and the waitress who walked by us three times and they stared and didn’t say a word. Ended up with a terrific dinner at the BoatHouse, our regular Sate night go to, and sadly won’t be back here anytime soon, if ever.

Our server Chris was polite helpful and came to the table of number of times to make sure we were okay. Table if two we ordered Lobster. Lobster was dry and cool not hot. The broccoli was good the roles were on the verge of becoming dry and old. There is a train track on one side and a bridge that opens for boats on the other with a little body of water in between as of you. That would have been fine had the food bin very good. The food was less than average. The cost of the lobster was $30. My friend had oyster appetizer and was not pleased with those either. Had it not been that we were starving we probably would have left. Sorry folks this place is a huge thumbs down I should have listened to the other reviews.

Aside from the phenomenal food service from right off the bat, the atmosphere is amazing. Music at the right volume, waitresses with all the patience in the world to take down the perfect order, and chefs to serve the best quality of seafood possible. One thing for certain however: tell your waitress if you want anything plain or heavily seasoned AND if you want any bread to be served. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone for a quick bite or a nice fun dinner with the family.

I'd give this place more stars if it were based on atmosphere alone, but since I am going on a first time visit, the are a couple of variables that could sway my opinion either direction. Im not saying I don't recommend it or that I won't be back, but first impressions in this business are everything. To start, I like that you had a choice of fine dining, bar dining, and just hooping it up at the bar, all with choice of indoor or outdoor and a magnificent water view to boot. We went with the bar food in the riverside. Just a quick bite. I got the blackened Tuna and the Kani salad and my daughter got cucumber sushi. Nothing too exciting. The food was tasty, but the tuna was over done. I prefer my tuna rare, I believe that's the way it's supposed to be eaten. But if you prefer yours cooked through, you wont be disappointed. My daughter's cucumber sushi was so small, I had to order her a second plate and she was still hungry. I know, I know, its cucumber and rice, but shes 10. And at the price, I expected a little bit more pizazz. The waitress was hurried and didnt seem very experienced, but I dont blame her, the place was nuts. It was after all dinner time at a nice rest at the Jersey shore. But, also I still tipped her well because I know what its like, and we didnt exactly order steak and lobster. Yeah, I'd go back. Maybe order a nice dinner and see how that goes.

If you want overpriced food and a poorly run restaurant, this is your place. Waitstaff and hostesses very nice, but are led by managers without a clue. Had a wait, which was fine, but when I approached about how much longer it would take, they said they would find a manager. Not one could be found. I felt bad for the poor girl, who looked stressed, and sat back down. Now that we were at our table, my party of three, we ordered some drinks, and three entrees. The bill came out to about 175, way too much for two seafood entrees and a burger. Left a while later and spotted a manager smoking and laughing with another. Couldn't be bothered to help the children working there. Will not be back; if friends wanted to, I would only for my amazing server.

It has been a legacy, that Ollie Klein started 90 years ago. Recently he has left us, and his grandchildren are running the show. Hopefully they will keep him dear to their hearts and proud. They have to continue to serve the freshest of the fresh. Portions are adequate. Service is adequate. I'm always hoping they would bring back the Soup Bread bowls. Parking is available but limited.

Fried oysters, Fried scallops, Fried clams All were served absolutely cold. It was so bad that we didn't eat it at all. We think that the food would have been lousy even if it had been hot, but we'll never know. Quite a bummer.

Doesn't even deserve the one star... my family and i went last night to the Kleins next door to Kleins, wasn't that busy, was going to be sat at a dirty table, food came out cold at different times, after waiting 50 minutes for food, they blamed it on computer systems being down. Manager asked if he could get us bread or soup... my sons entree came out so much later than everyone else, he took it to go. Waitress was no where to be seen. Bill finally came, not a penny off.... they should had been sorry for charging me anything..... all they could say was "sorry". Worst restaurant experience i have ever had!!!!

wish i could give zero stars. restaurant is poorly managed, food comes out all at different times, wrong of course. after complaining and asking to speak to the manager, it took twenty minutes for us to even see one walk by and go straight to another table. we gave up, requested the check, and left. for how long we waited and how much we paid, never going back. beware, management does not care about customers.

I have been here many times to buy fresh clams. I was here a few days ago and bought clams. I ordered 18 clams and got 17 (charged for 18). Some of the clams smelled/tasted a bit different (not as good) from previous visits. Maybe they were harvested from somewhere different.

Where to begin? Our experience was awful. -I had an out-of-state ID and the waitress “couldn’t figure out if it was real or not”. Apparently the mag stripe didn’t work, but due to regular wear and tear on IDs that is often the case. She didn’t card anyone else at the table for alcohol, though, and a quick google search would have given her some advice regarding how to tell real vs fake IDs. -We weren’t offered or served bread for the table but everyone else who came in to eat got some. -Portions were very small for the price. I left hungry. -Service was generally unprofessional and unimpressive. We waited to be seated while the host sat around the corner, out of sight. A manager had to come yell at him to do his job. -Nearly forgot- I ordered raw clams as an appetizer and was sick for the rest of my vacation, about 3-4 days. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. There’s so much fresh seafood in the area that is better priced and comes with better service.

Everyone loved their meals. The lobster was fresh and sweet. An amazing seafood restaurant but also has some meat dishes. You will love it. Romantic. Great place for a date.

This place was recommended to us by locals so we had to go. And it did not disappoint!! Food was delicious, beautiful patio with a view, and they had a special going on when we went in early June which was soup, entree, dessert, AND a house bottle of wine for two people for only $50 total. You can't beat that! Definitely go!

Mothers day brunch 2019 .49$ pp.there food display so bad ,had warming trays sideways & crammed together.you couldn't open lids or get food out of warmer.food only accessible from 1 side. minimal food selection , all they had 2 do was add another food table. eating tables super tight no room total mess..waitress was great .had her work cut out..p.s most places gave 1 complementary mimosa..at 39 $..never again !..

Excellent Sunday brunch. Sam was a great server. Buffet has many offerings. Eat in or out. Great value. Only downside they won't seat u without ur entire party. (I have a cane and can't stand) And it can feel crowded. Tables are close. Otherwise very good

We were a party of 4. 3 of us had the sea bass which was very good along with the shrimp that came with the fish. Our 4th had the swordfish which he also said he enjoyed. Each of us ordered the garlic mashed potatoes with our meal. The mashed potatoes could have been served as potato soup. Or, just provide a straw to slurp them up. But, we were there for the fresh fish which was

The seafood market, itself is quality, even steaming fresh shrimp for us while we wait. They are eager to please. The restaurant however, is not worth the exceptionally long wait on most summer nights. The dishes are average and the portions could be bigger. If dining in the area, I would prefer the Columns or the Avon Pavilion.
