Wowww, this is what I call great seafood!!! With friendly quick service. We ordered several platters, with two of my teens saying they'll just have fries and hush puppies. Our food came out fast and freshly cooked. Scallops were golden, very tender with the perfect amount of seasoning. Fish was delightfully same in character. The shrimps was gone before I can get to taste it, all I hear from my daughters was its the best they've ever had. My son who avoids seafood at all cost was now eating crab cake, and fish! So I ordered more shrimps. Turned out I can just order shrimps by the pound, which they cooked again to perfection. Dominic, the proprietor of the store, came out to make sure we're enjoying our meals. He even surprised us with some golden fried fish nuggets that again was beyond any expectations. Their food is so good we're going back tomorrow. My teens, they're having shrimps :)

Great food, great place, great service. The owner, Dominic, treats customers like family – he's not happy unless you are happy. Buy fresh, like fresh off the boat that morning fresh, seafood and take it home to cook, or let them cook it for you. Get it to go or enjoy it there at one of the tables. They've a standing menu (see below), daily specials, or ask for something custom made. They have fish cut up or whole. They'll clean and cut the whole fish to order. Get fillets, steaks, or other. Shellfish too. Smoked fish sometimes. DOMINIC WILL ORDER FOR YOU ALMOST ANYTHING YOU WANT. The interior is wallpapered with photos and newspaper clippings that show the long and important history of Barbera's in Atlantic City.

If I could give this place a 10/5 I would. I loved the rustic hole-in-the-wall. The non-glitzy small seafood markets almost always have the freshest and best seafood. The gentlemen we met were so knowledgeable and kind. We did the seafood platter with bass, shrimp, scallops and fries. I had never been a fan of bass but today changed that and the scallops and shrimp were to die for. I wish they could deliver and cook in Kansas.

This place is freaking awesome. The best crab anywhere by far. Went to atlanic city and lost a lot of money, the crab my wife and I had made up for it. If you are at Atlantic city this spot is a must go. This is the first review I ever wrote. Oysters were delicious, lobstertail was small and slightly crunchy (not my kind if taste). They have delicious crab cakes and a great deal for white fish sandwich ($4). They steamed and seasoned the clams, it was delicious. Their crabs are sweet and seasoned.

Amazing fresh seafood at ridiculously low prices. We ate there twice and got fish to go for three meals that we cooked at home. The fried fish platters and especially the flounder sandwich are unbeatable. So fresh, perfectly fried, delicious. Also, they will sharpen your knives for you if you bring them.

I've been ordering #1 crabs, topneck clams and crab cakes from Barbera's for the past four years. They always make our annual August crab feast perfect! They do a great job and I wouldn't buy my seafood anywhere else. You won't be disappointed.

Haven't actually had experience of tasting what appears to be my new go to FRESH SEAFOOD SPOT. As it was 5:45 and Dominic the owner, chef, and host explained my options. Kitchen was already closed. Offered many other options, fresh Sea Bass was a must. I declined, as I wanted the full service made fresh . WILL be visiting before weeks end.

Went to this place on a whim...thank God we did!!! Awesome fresh seafood platters. I had flounder and shrimp with fries and coleslaw and my fiancee had tilapia. Cooked perfectly...not overly breaded and definitely not over cooked. Fries were crispy and slaw was not overpowered with mayonnaise...had a Pepsi chaser...lol. We had gone to an expensive hotel restaurant several weeks before (it was good too but $100) so we feel that we got our money's worth at Barberas ($20.00). Their patio is cute too! Loved it!!!

Very fresh, quality seafood at reasonable prices. Sautéed and fried platters, sandwiches, crab, lobster, shrimp, clam, mussel, oyster, scallop, fish. We ordered blue crabs steamed in Old Bay, clams on half shell, and sautéed scallops, which came with mixed vegetables, cole slaw, and fries - all excellent.
