My husband and I had a algae problem with a plant, showed up with the plant, one staff recommended a algae eater shrimp. You can get much fish care related information from the staff as well. Large selection of fish to have a look at, anywhere from saltwater to freshwater or community to aggressive. They have a large amount of selection of fish goods, a bit pricey. The employees are knowledgeable and if they don’t know an answer to your question they don’t just brush you off they go or if their way to find an answer which is nice of them. Would recommend this place if you’re a big fish person.

They have nearly everything, and if it's not there they can get it. I've walked in on more than a few occasions to see fish never before imported anywhere unknown to science, insane deepwater bassles from Japanese waters somehow not sold there, dwarf angels, blue ring octopus...If you are a serious hobbyist you already know. If your new, skip the chain store. Their fish are filled with disease and you'll get terrible advice. AF has an amazing staff that will show you the right way and sell you only the best quality fish. 20 year customer.

This place is great! So many different marine and fresh water fish. I could’ve easily stayed for over an hour just to look at the fish. They also seem to have all the latest equipment IN STOCK. So far it’s the best fish store I’ve been to in NJ.

Customer service is nice at selling time, when their product (fish,etc) has issues...service is not so nice. The fact is, most of their employees are kids. Terrible customer service. Buyer Beware....if you plan to buy aquarium and stuff, buy from online as prices are 5 times marked up. It's a place where made in China stuff is being sold at a Made in Germany price.

The selection of dry goods and livestock (fresh and salt) is outstanding. Everything here has seemed healthy so far but I have yet to buy a fish or coral to see how they do at home. The turn off for me are the prices. I find them to be higher then what I am willing to spend having been to hundreds of aquarium stores. Obviously they have no lack of sales for the massive amount of stuff in there. This would probably be because they dont have much competition in the area.

My brother has worked at this store for a while, but I hadn't visited until recently. My wife and I went there with our kids to buy a pet Betta fish, and the tanks that they have on display are higher quality than most *aquariums* we've been to that have paid admission. Kids loved it.

I've been going there for a hundred and fifty years. The fish prices are a little high. Their accessories are also high. Some of the staff are very knowledgeable. They have nice tanks too. They have plenty of fish obviously. They have rare fish too. They won't sell fish if the tank water is bad. Their DOA is low. I've only had a few dead fishes ( DOA).

I'm a long time patron of what has to be 15 years now. First off, store has a great selection with knowledgeable staff. Prices have gotten much better in recent years due to the internet probably taking a big bite. They did do one thing that really rubbed me the wrong way. About 6 months ago, I had a return tube let go on my aquarium. It was a simple piece. They sell it for maybe $8-$10. Filter had to be shut down with some very nice fish in the setup; including a proven breeding pair of desirable cichlids. I arrived at the store to find out they were holding an event. I explained to the manager I needed one piece, they would not allow me in the store to purchase the piece that was extremely important for keeping my fish alive. They explained it would be possibly an hour or two before I would be allowed in due to the waiting list. This really rubbed me the wrong way. I explained that I had no desire to take advantage of any sale, nor wanted to buy anything BUT the essential return tube. I even offered to have him go get the item inside for me and I would pay cash, didn't even need to apply the discount. Once again, the complete concern on my end was getting the specific part, which I had previously bought from them, just so my fish wouldn't die. The answer was "Nope, sorry." As such I have not gone back. Nor do I ever plan to. It's a shame that such a simple thing can ruin years of good patronage.

You walk in to about 6 people standing behind the counter but it isn't easy to find help when you need something. My husband and I went to get some cichlids - our first time actually buying fish from this store because the fish we wanted at our go-to fish store (Fish Hut in Saddle Brook) were too small at the moment - and trying to find someone who knew about cichlids was difficult. Not to mention that the staff seemed like they did not want to be there! I don't understand how you can have employees at a fish store who don't know about the fish in the store! And if they aren't knowledgeable, you'd hope they'd at least be pleasant, but nope! I'll stick to my go-to place and wait on the fish I want moving forward, as they're a lot friendlier and they can tell you about every fish in their store.

They do have a descent fish and coral selection as well as fresh water fish there is no question about that. You get to be greeted on a walk in which is great since there are about 5 people at the register counter. However afterwards it's not very easy to get help. I am more interested in marine fish and while they do have a selection of them a lot of repeats. To be fair i will say that they have good selection on the Invertebrates and very decent number of supplies for marine hobbies. but reason why i am giving them 3 stars is because most of the fish are very much overpriced! Fish they may get away but the equipment is also pricey. Try buying a protein skimmer and tell me why would you not buy on Amazon vs there?

They have an amazing selection of everything. Prices are a bit high but not much worse than other places honestly. The main issue is that they are TOO big to keep healthy fish and aquariums. You won’t notice problems and fish will look fantastic. But the fish I purchased had Ich (a highly contagious parasite). This means all of their freshwater tanks likely had the parasite, and everyone purchasing from them was taking home the disease. They also told me they they keep Cyanobacteria in check via the use of antibiotics. Not a great thing to be using constantly for many reasons. I would recommend if you buy anything live to use preventative treatment and quarantine if possible

I am getting back into saltwater. There are no nice places that sell livestock in south Jersey. Absolutely Fish is great. (used to bring my son there when he was little to look at the fish all the time) The staff was very friendly and helpful. The salesgirl patiently held the dry rock I handed her as I was digging thru the selection answering which was lighter in her hand until I got what I was happy with. I bought a nice piece of live rock and some macro algea that ended up being huge. They had no problem adding saltwater into the bucket I brought for the live rock. And I didn't see the prices for the fish being that much higher then what I saw on line. I'll be going back once my tank is ready for fish. So excited

It's ok, clean, well organized, nice staff and good selection. I took off 2 stars for the prices, no other reason. We do have a few LFS in the area and also the big box stores with competitive prices. They have more and buy more so surely they have buying power but do not pass it on. Compared to other LFS their selection is larger and definitely nice however again as I expressed, they absolutely get better prices. Their media, gravel, equipment etc are all higher than others. I don't think the buyer is paying more than others for the same merchandise and live stock. So just to be clear, nothing negative from my first visit except their prices.

Decided to check out a LFS to start up a tank my kids have been asking for sometime. I got great help and was led in the right direction due to knowledgeable and friendly staff. Every question I had asked was able to be answered from the worker Cameron, with his knowledge, friendliness and the stores decent prices, I can say I will be going there more often, and cannot wait to set up another tank! Definitely recommend, this place great variety of fish!

Absolutely worth it if you want a healthy fish. The staff actually knows what they're talking about, and are extremely helpful in finding the right food, pebbles, heaters, filters, and tank sizes for your fish. The bettas are very healthy, and have vibrant colors. They even had sparkling gouramis, which I wasn't expecting. They also have an awesome selection of plants.

Today I realized that the filter on my fish tank was not working and the water was getting very cloudy. I called Absolutely Fish because of a recommendation from a friend of mine. Glenn told me to bring the filter to the store so they can evaluate the problem . While this a a great place to find anything you want....staff knows their stuff...but the prices are sky high. It's to the point that I almost feel it's not worth up keeping a tank if you buy solely from this store. For example..I was guided to buy a 180$ LED light for plants because I wanted a planted tank. This may be the best kind of light and the staff isnt wrong but there needs to be material available with moderate pricing that still serves to keep a nice tank.

They take exceptional care of their livestock, only willing to sell healthy specimens unlike some other stores in the area. They also have great programs for their regulars, a stamp card that gives you money back towards the store after a certain amount of visits, their reef club that gives you daily discounts of up to 20% off of coral as well as invitations to educational events that they host right at their store. This store is privately owned and operated by a staff that truly cares about the hobby, the livestock and their customers.

I must say, if you've never been into an actual fish store, this is the place to go. It's like mini aquarium with fish you can actually buy, along with fish tanks, supplies, and very well trained staff who can set you up with everything you need. I highly recommend this place for people who are inexperienced fish owners wanting to get a first pet for their kid or even the most experienced fish owners. They have a bunch of different species of fish, frogs, snail, coral. They even have the Goliath Tiger Fish and a Red belly Piranha, just to name some crazy fish. I'm very satisfied with my first visit and I will definitely be back again.

Henry helped us out. I guess he didnt really help since he told us getting nimbo cichilids was going to be okay in our tank full of demasonis and yellow labs. My demasonis are attacking the nimbos and now we dont know what to do. I dont understand why Henry told us it would be okay, it obviously isnt. This sucks and we are very dissatisfied.

Everything you could ever know about fish is known by the owners of this store. They can test your aquarium water and tell you your levels, give advice on how to fix imbalances and more. Once you leave the store they are a phone call away if you have questions. And if course, they have an amazing variety of fish, frags of coral and more. The staff are friendly and helpful! However, I understand the store is privately owned, but the prices are obnoxiously high for certain items such as tank equipment. People who are new to the hobby easily over pay $50 for one element needed for a setup when they come to absolutely fish. I feel like this place cheats you a bit. I personally like Fish Hut more because they have reasonable prices. At the end of the day, it all boils down to cost.

I have only been here 3 times so far. I come from Staten Island and this will be my new place for fish. There is plenty of very knowledgeable staff always looking to help. The tanks were all clean, did not see one dead or sick looking fish. The selection of fish is so much better then what is available in the big box chain stores. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality fish. They also have a beautiful koi pond in the store with big friendly koi. ❤❤❤❤❤

Amazing store. Anyone half serious about fish keeping hobby should make a pilgrimage to this place. Looks like a random warehouse from the outside but inside it's like a giant department store of saltwater and freshwater fish. Staff are very knowledgeable and ready to help. Great store for both fresh water and salt water fish and supplies. The staff is very friendly, knowledge, and caring. Most either have multiple aquariums, have taken classes, or both. The selection of fish, plants, and anemones is really diverse with rare and typical varieties. The location pops up a little out of no where on 46, so keep your eyes peeled and slow down around the bend. There are plenty of store tricks on front which helps.

They always have an abundance of fish in stock all displayed in beautiful tanks. There's an endless amount of fish tank accessories ranging from filters and medium to decor and live plants. As you can see in the pictures I've provided I have gotten three beautiful HEALTHY fish from the store that still flourish in my tank today. Along with some plants newly bought to add to the tank! Absolutely Fish has everything you'd need and then some!

Lots of beautiful saltwater fish. Freshwater selection is not as wide but still better than the average pet store. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are little high. Most tanks were clean and fish were healthy

Normally don't do reviews but this is a excellent fish store! They had all kinds of fish and they even had shark eggs for sale which was super duper cool! The staff were also really friendly. And now I know where I will get my next Betta once my glo tetra dies. Worth the trip!

Love to come here and watch the fish with my babies. They have a large assortment of great fish to choose from. I did spend about $110 in fish and they all died within 3 days; they said my water may have been too hard since I live on well water. So that sucked. But the fish were beautiful and my son loves coming to watch the fish. They have lots of good advice for you and great resources for fish and pond care.

Amazing selection. Staff super knowledgeable. Not just trying 2 make a sale. They actually give valuable information. I didnt see not one single dead or ill looking fish. Beautiful aquascaped tanks and some are even sold as entire setups. Large selection of plants. They even had aquaculture fish! If ur looking for fish supplies, fish (salt and fresh), plants, substrates and shrimp please visit this place. I drove 45 min to get here and I cant wait to go back!
