Loved this place. Definitely the perfect example of a small family run petstore that works really hard to earn honest business and does a world of good in the community. The store is pretty spacious, especially the aquatic section. They have probably one of the largest selections I've seen in a smaller store. It is very well kept and clean, and the owners and employees are super friendly and helpful. I bought a green spotted puffer and some female mollies, although if I had stayed any longer I would've likely walked out with much more. The prices are fair and about average, the fish were healthy and active and the display tanks although a little over stocked are kept nice and clean. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is into fish or pets in general!

Great service! They didn't have my prescription dog food, but warned me it may not actually be all it's cracked up to be. I brought in the bag, and the awesome girl who helped me clearly and concisely laid out why this was complete junk, and then showed me a vastly superior and even more affordable product! My dog mowed down the food and is happy, and I've got a spare $20! Dig the knowledge of the staff there for sure!

I come here for Liz! She knows so much and has helped me through all of my pets, even when they got hurt. She has so much caring for the animals, and cared so much when my pet got hurt. She was very patient with me through all of my questions. She wanted me to leave happy and my babies happy. She helped me feel calm, happy and leaving educated enough to take care of my hurt pet. It was closing time though (when we were almost done) and the owners weren’t too happy that she was still helping me. Horrible, Degrading, Rude customer service, or LACK there of from the "owner" who made snippy and ignorant comments with crude assumptions and nasty remarks that were nothing less than astonishing , Contemptuous behaviour and poor customer service has resulted in this home to promise to NEVER step foot in that store again and keep our fury friends fed and cared for else where. Too bad to see a SMALL LOCAL business conduct such poor business conduct resulting in the loss of business when we as a local family make a point of keeping it local. BUT not at the expense of self respect and integrity.

Horrible customer service the manager acts like she knows everything and tried giving me bad information then continued to follow me around the store trying to argue with me I asked to speak with the manager and she told me she was so instead of spending over $100 there in fish they made $0 and we went to Laconia. Overall a good selection and fair prices. Helpful and friendly staff. But the sales associate who tried to give us advice on hedgehogs was just wrong about some things, so don't believe them. They don't have hedgehogs there so they don't really know much about them. She was essentially trying to convince us not to get a hedgehog (I assume because this store doesn't have them) and gave me BAD information on what they should eat. Otherwise, good store.

Like it but don't ...good products a little overpriced ...everything is always in on Tuesdays or Wednesdays but if u go not maybe another week or so ...employees don't have good advice ... the example was told to feed just supper worms to a bearded dragon ...that' a snack not an all the time diet .. I think for the owners to go there don't take there a vice or you may end up with sick or even passed on pets .. I hope they improve.

This is my go to place for pet supplies and advice. I've never walked out of the store without being impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are. They don't sell you anything you don't need. Having rescued 3 dogs, a cat, bird, and rabbit, they have helped me every step of the way.

I am very disappointed in the way that this establishment handles customer service. I went in one afternoon to purchase a beta fish. I selected my new fish and went up to purchase it, where they had a girl who was still in training ring me out, unsupervised nonetheless. She proceeded to shake my new fish into the baggy as it got stuck at the bottom of the bowl. I didn't really think much of it, went home, and set up the tank, just like I have for my other beta's in the past that have never had any issue. 36 hours later this fish was belly up at the bottom of the tank when I arrived home from work. So I brought him back to the store the next morning in a plastic baggy with the receipt in hand. I was then told that they do not have a guarantee on their fish and would not replace him, like any other self respecting pet store would. Once the supervisor there saw that I was a college aged person, she immediately acted as though I was stupid and clearly could not be capable of caring for a beta, mind you I have owned and cared for several beta, all of whom lived to be about 3. When I explained the situation that had happened with the cashier who rang me out two days prior, she got very snappy with me but went and spoke with the owner, who then said I could go pick a new fish, free of charge due to the circumstances that the original cashier was still a trainee. She then proceeded to ring me out, and also CHARGED ME despite me being told there would be no charge. So all that said, I am very, VERY disappointed with the way they handle things. I always try to shop local, especially with pets because they seem to be much better taken care of, however seeing such poor customer service skills is very unprofessional and ensured that I will NOT be returning to this establishment in the future, in fact I will not recommend them to anyone.

I have been in the tropical fish hobby since 1984 and worked in the hobby from 1985-1987 and I consider this shop to be better than any in southwestern Maine and absolutely among the top 3 in all of New Hampshire. They have a wide variety of tropical fish and ones of many sizes. They are knowledgeable, friendly and will special order fish for you. Excellent with cichlids and marine fish.

Update: I have been visiting the store recently and have recieved prompt service. Tanks are clean and fish are healthy :) I had been visiting this store weekly with my daughter after our swim lessons around the corner. I always got the vibe that we made them uncomfortable. My daughter was always very excited to look at the animals and I was always sure that she was as respectful as an excited 3 year old can be in a pet store. The "owner" would see us in there every week, but would never acknowledge us. When I would ask him for help he would tend to get one of the other employees to help. I was really looking to build a relationship with the business as I have multiple fish tanks and find that their livestock is healthy and well cared for. My tanks are freshwater and the owner always seemed more interested in helping people with saltwater tanks. After visiting the store for a couple years and making purchases, my most recent livestock purchase included a Siamese Algae Eater (of which I bought 3) that was a little less than healthy. 2 of them were great and are doing just fine in my tank as we speak, but one was clearly not healthy for whatever reason and lasted less than 24 hours. I put the fish in a little sandwich baggie and saved it for when I returned to the store. The girl behind the counter who is very nice and had helped me in the past seemed uncomfortable as soon as I mentioned and showed her the dead fish. It is very common to bring a deceased fish back to a pet store. I was told that they could do nothing for me because they "didn't know if I had dropped the bag or shook it all around and killed the fish myself". To which I replied that is not what happened and seeing as I am a regular customer maybe they would trust me and take my word for it. I was informed that they would not trust my word and there was nothing they could do. I felt as though I was being called a liar. I really enjoyed visiting the store and it pains me that now I feel that I can't go back, all over a $4 fish.. I would have been happy with a $1 discount off of a replacement, just something that demonstrated that they appreciated my business. I am a customer service professional and spend everyday serving people and giving people the benefit of the doubt, when I am not treated with the same respect that I afford my customers it really gets to me.. If you just want to buy some healthy fish and be done with it, I would recommend this store. If you are looking for good customer service and to build a relationship with a place that services a hobby that you are very serious about, than I would have to say based on my experience that it is unlikely that they are open to such a customer.
