The best aquarium and supply shop. The aquarium is worth visiting just to look at as an exhibit. All the fish a super healthy and well kept, and the staff are knowledgeable and interested in the well being of the animals, not just in selling stuff.

This is a great place for buying fish, we have been coming here for decades. They are also great for food. To be clear, this is worth driving 50 miles to for fish. But if you are looking for hardware they are quite limited. Not much choice in table or filters. But if you don't have specific requirements then what they have is fine. They stock a small range of good products. But if you want a large hexagonal tank or a mechanical air pump or a large sump filter you need to find it somewhere else.

All the fish were sick mostly with ick, the customer service was great prices were acceptable, but my card was over charged and then I was charged instead of refunded. Eventually it was refunded but will take 3-5 business days to show on my account. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place or shop here again. Sad, it has really gone downhill since I last visited.

Kind of pricy, but good service and a wide array of animal selection. They don't have cats or dogs though. I saw bunnies, mice, birds, fish, turtles, snakes, frogs, and a ton of lizards. Pretty cool place.

Excellent selection, has everything you'd want for you pet, at reasonable prices, kind and helpful staff. They welcome your pets in the store, whether they are service animals or not. However, no animals at all are allowed in the large bird room at the end of the store. There's a great zoo-like fish and reptiles room in the basement with huge aquariums and tanks and displays of all sorts of fish and snakes and lizards. We often visit just to wander around down there and in the bird room.

My wife and I went in and we're looking to buy a hamster cause her 5 year old hamster passed away. WE WENT to the back, and looked around no employees offered any help . My wife kept hinting she wanted a hamster and they did nothing . A female employee left the room for a moment and my wife was looking at baby guniea pigs and the lady came in and said, *you aren't supposed to be back there only employees * she went on to repeat herself 4 other times saying the same thing over and over again after we proceeded to move. When she walked in she glared at us in disgust because we were back there , almost like she was shocked. I don't remember seeing a sign saying not to go back there.. But either way if you see pets and your in a pet store your gonna want to look. I think the employees in the pet section should be more respectful and helpful in these situations . However the man downstairs in the fish section was very helpful and respectful ...I'd recommend to go their and see the young man who was working there in the fish section. That's it. Came here Sunday and 10am. Wasted my time completely coming all the way here from richford vermont.

They have everything you need including specialty treats & foods instead of all the mass store brands that most chain pet stores have. Their aquarium department is impressive and the waterfall pond at the main entrance is impressive! I have shopped here and at the Claremont location and the staff at both are friendly and attentive, check them out!

The store it self is pretty nice, but everything is over priced. The reptile section is no better taken care of or even worse than a petsmart would do. They mark up ball python morph at least double the cost. Bearded dragons are housed together with up to 5-10 babies. Most babies are missing toes! Currently they have in 4 new over priced ball pythons. In their cage they had nothing no hide no water. One python was going in circles and trying to find a way out. No doubt looking for a place to hide. Not to mention the staffs zero attentiveness with customers. If i owned a store and and a customer was looking at an item for a few hundred dollars for several minutes with out even as much of a hello from my staff. They can go back to being an unemployed statistic as far as I’m concerned. Even had staff walk into the same room as me with zero acknowledgment. The young cashiers at the front are also unfriendly. Not a hi or a thank you. She gave me my change and I said yep walked away. Finally got a have a nice day as I was half way out the door. But this is no surprise this store has been like this for years and has always been the same story. High turn over rate here as well. Also not a surprise. I have a friend that “saved” a python from this store. Unfortunately didn’t even survive 24 hours.

Beware of the fish here, almost all of them had ick or other parasites/diseases. The treatment literally cost a few bucks for a bottle and this place would rather torture the fish to save a few bucks. Told the guy in there basement fish layer and he started to argue the fish are sick

I’ve gotten two leopard geckos there, and am about to get a created gecko. They taught me about taking care of a leopard gecko, housing, feeding, and everything! Would STRONGLY recommend if looking for ANY reptile!

Come here for basically all my pets needs. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Saved probably 50 dollars or so through their royalty program, every little bit counts. Been a customer for 2+ years since moving to the upper valley. They could use a larger selection of dog toys but otherwise great store for all sorts of pets.

They have so many tanks but each one was dirty and the fish were lethargic. I feel with the right staff it would have been amazing but I feared buying anything from there fish selection.

I have a daughter that dances competitively every time we are traveling we always stop so my 2 year old can get out of the car. This last time we went I fell in love with certain Guinea pig. On our way home we stopped to buy him, as we walk in to the room with the animals there are always 1 or 2 persons working in the room. Neither of them asked us if they could help us, I also had 1 other daughter that was so excited. The one lady looked at the other and said I'm on break. So I go over to the other lady and ask her if we can buy a Guinea pig. Her response was "yea" she grabs a box starts taping it up with all 3 of my kids standing watching her. She does not say one word to any of them, she puts down a clip board infront of me and says you need to sign. Doesnt explain what in signing, just tells me to sign and walks away to go grab the Guinea pig. She returns tapes up the box hands it to my daughter and walks away. With her back to me I tried asking her a question and she doesnt answer so my husband says we can look it up online. Then we go out to the store to buy all the accessories, not one employee comes up and helps us. The lady at the counter was friendly but not helpful to any of my questions. My suggestion is to hire friendlier people!

I never know how I feel about this place. The cages are kept clean and there is pretty decent enrichment for the animals. On a few occasions we were give incorrect information on some of the more unique bird species. Not to mention you aren't allowed to even attempt to handle an animal unless you're deadset on buying them. This becomes a real problem when it comes to their birds, since they need pretty consistent positive encounters with humans in order to stay well socialized and less fearful. I would be more deadset on buying a bird from them if I knew how they responded to handling. The manager (?) always has an attitude... there have been times I've asked about grabbing a fish or where something would be, and she has flat out said she doesn't have time for me. I still support them because they do provide more enrichment to their animals than most places, but the staff should be better equipped to educate and answer questions, and they need to downsize on birds.

The store offers a number of fish that you don't see in other stores in the area and has a nice selection of birds. The staff are hit or miss, some are incredible and seem to really love what they do others seem to hate their job and have no interest in helping. The downstairs fish area went through a renovation recently that I was really excited for but it seems they downsized rather than improved so I was disappointed. I still think they are the best place you find fish in the area though.

Used to be a destination spot for me and my wife. Last time there i was seriously considering a major bird purchase. During that time the avary was a mess, with clipped feathers on the floor the entire visit and staff that could not answer questions in a friendly manner (green haired girl featured on the landing page here) and occupied cages dropped on top of another. A pair of 'teals were being harassed by other birds to the point that they were bald on the back of their heads. I made it known that I was interested in a purchase and not one employee approached me. There's NO way that I am dropping $2500+ without observing how the bird interacted with my family, so we interacted with it and not the staff. The only interaction we had with the staff during that time was instructions to "not touch the bird, play with her and her toys but don't touch the bird". Shortly after we were asked to leave because we were reaching into the a vary. I'm sorry, but I was obviously interested in Gem, and had been there numerous times to visit and observe her before. A little human interaction goes a long way. I hope Gem finds a good home.

0 stars!!!!!!! This place is DISCUSTING!!! I used to come here and I recently visited again. The place smelled so bad! Walking down stairs the fish aquarium was so smelly and had mildew and nasty stuff all over the place. Dead fish too. Then going into the reptile room it was nasty and smelly and there were tanks with snakes with locks and some without locks. There was also a tank with a DEAD lizard. This place is gross not nearly as nice as it used to be!

Went into store on Thursday to purchase a fish tank for my granddaughter. Got it home and realized how inferior a product that was sold to me. Went in on Saturday to return the item and get my money back and was told that aquariums were not returnable. Clerk pointed to a sign that was at ceiling level. Guess we are expected to look at the ceiling while shopping. Also, none of the sales people that were checking prices for us made the fact that they were not returnable available to us. I think that probably this is a good store to stay away from. I intend to go back in tomorrow to speak with a manager and if that fails then I will contact the owners of the store to see where that gets me. If all else fails then perhaps the Better Business Bureau will like a phone call.

It has birds, small rodants, reptiles and fish for sale. It is well stocked with pet supplies. If you have kids it is also at a minimum a half hour stop as they see it as a mini zoo. The fish and reptiles section is a bit dingy and needs some TLC.

I've been coming here for over 20 years. I came to see the fish today. I may buy elsewhere. There were a lot of diseased fish, and fish with clamped fins. It's never been the best kept pet store, but it used to be much better than it is now. They used to have some knowledgeable staff, too.

Great selection, prices aren't great though. Wide selection of fish and creepy crawlers. They always seem to have an above average dead loss in their tanks though. I don't think I've been through there in 5 years without seeing Ick all over the fancy goldfish. The remodel in the basement looks pretty sweet. Went with hopes of having a decent saltwater selection and was quite disappointed. All the tanks were poorly kept. Massive amounts of algae in the tanks and there were dead fish in some. Even they're "display" tanks were gross and had aiptasia in them. I wouldn't want to bring home anything out of those tanks.

This store really needs a face lift to survive. Granted they did fix it up a little with the big box store coming to town. Still it’s just dingy and dirty. Plus a lot of the staff are just unhelpful and clearly don’t want to be there. Their price points are a little better with some competition in the area. But I’m afraid that with many years of extremely high prices have chased away a lot of the local customers. I don’t mind paying a little more at a local company but I refuse to pay double or even more in some cases. Also I think they are really going to need to change their hours to be open later. Several times I’ve gone and they were closed at like 5pm. I hope they can stay a float. But the owners are going to need to do a big over haul. Such a shame. Big wonderful building but unfortunately not much to be desired in products or customer service.

Younger male with facial piercings was rather rude. I had bought two light bulbs over the weekend. I did not check in store when they gave them to me because I expected them to know the proper light bulbs for the various animals. Silly me for also thinking that they the difference between a reptile and amphibian. So one light bulb was for desert reptiles, when I needed it for tropical amphibian. The second light bulb did not work. I went to return the one that was wrong and replace the one that did not work. I received so much attitude and he tried everything to prevent doing the exchange and refund. He finally did it, then after he gave me the correct bulb told me that this one is not guaranteed because it is a replacement. I have receipt and the card from the original purchase. I can just imagine how it would have been if I didn't. It was only 3 days from original purchase until I made it back for the exchange. Seriously could used some customer service skills. I do not planning on returning. It isn't anything I can't just order offline going forward.

Stopped in to see what was available for saltwater fish, corals, and supplies. The basement, although having redone, is dirty and does t appear to be well kept. The livestock is extremely sparce, and doesn't appear to be in the best health. The cobwebs hanging off the lights all over their "display" tank tells a lot (I find it hard to believe in a full day someone can't find five minutes to go around and just clean up the cobwebs. This review is subjective as I went for one thing specifically (salt water fish), but based on today's experience, I won't be going back.

At 11 in the morning, the rabbit enclosures were pretty dirty and they hadn't any hay, which is crucial to their diet. I think it would also be beneficial for them to put litter boxes in the enclosures and get them going on house training. One bunny lover's opinion.

Rest of the pet sections are fine but the aquarium is disastrous and gotten worse over the years. Many sick dead or dying fish either having ich, dropsy or worse.

Great selection for any animal lover and animal. I love their fish and reptiles the most. The aviary and small animal room is also really awesome
