I tried to order their fish & chips today at 1pm for my lunch at the Ole Bridge Pub. I inquired first but the lady misunderstood me & did not place the order. So when I came back in the 15 minute window, she forgot to place the order. So no lunch today. Then I had to leave the Ole Bridge pub early to go down to the Stick to get some food. I would think that cleaning tables is not as important as placing an order.

Just had the BEST fish lunch since I fished Kodiak, Alaska myself back in 1971! Halibut, Cod, Salmon....Smee's does it all, Alaskan Style! Y'all will be impressed! The Sparks Marina setting, the snow-capped Sierra mountains,....Hey! It's unbeatable!

Best fish & chips in Reno, hands down. Best tartar sauce. You can get the fish and chips anytime 11 to 9PM, but closed Tuesdays. Dinner menu for the sit down has more options that cost more, but done by a famous local chef.

Came on a Monday night and it wasn’t very busy. Service was very attentive and friendly. Got a few cocktails that were very tasty. Clam chowder was good. Also got fish and shrimp tacos. Both were good, the shrimp tacos were incredible. Also got the shrimp skewer over a salad and that was wonderful also. Fish and chips were tasty too. Very pricey but for the scale of restaurant it was worth it. There are a few things that are pretty affordable too. Overall made for a very nice evening with tasty food and a good atmosphere. Definitely would go again.

Awful food. It's frozen and reheated. Save your money, get frozen food at Safeway and have a family night. Ordered skewered shrimp. Tempura skewer that was rectangular instead of nicely battered with the skinniest shrimp inside. Basically tempura batter so thick it was ridiculous. My skewered shrimp with pineapple was over done. Seriously save your money and go somewhere else. The service was good however.

Same great fish and chips. Crispy on the outside and juicy fish on the inside. The most surprising thing about the night was the tiramisu, highly recommend it. It’s one of the best ones I’ve tried.

Clean, very spacious and cozy place to eat and had a great view of the river. The food is great. I ordered 4 pc fish and Chips and the fish was perfectly cooked. Our waiter is very nice and accomodating. Will definitely be back.

Three stars for location, I was expecting a better menu for a fish restaurant, or maybe it was the time of day, the waitress was kind of lost when asked question, but later she stated that it was her second day at work, I give her that, but still she should have been better prepared. We ordered extra stuff that we did not need to as we found out later when our meal was served. It was mentioned to her, but there was not effort to remove it from the bill or an apology.

Excellent food and service. I had the pan seared salmon over rice and baby spinach. The dish was ultra fresh and prepared with just the right combination of spices and herbs. Quite possibly the best salmon I've had, and I don't say that lightly. Highly recommended!

Walking along riverfront and discovered this newly opened GEM! Family of four loved all of our selections. Fish and chips was fab! Talked w owner and learned back story of his fish business in Alaska and ties w Ivar’s Restaurant in Seattle. Great sized portions too!

I want to start by saying there a lot of fine restaurants along the Truckee River downtown but Smees is definitely not one of them. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because of the nice location and view. I ordered the Salmon. The menu said salmon with cilantro and lime garnish on a bed of jasmine rice and baby spinach. The dish came and, in addition to the forementioned ingredients, it had an abundance of tangerines, onions, and grapes. Not as garnish, mind you. The were fully integrated into the dish. I tried to pick around them but it just wasn't working. After a few bites I kindly informed the waitress showing her the menu and then showing her what I actually had sitting in front of me. Soon Mr Smee himself came to the table. I explained my dilemma and he immediately got defensive. I was upfront saying I just wanted what it said on the menu and that he could still charge me for two meals. It wasn't about the money. Instead of just letting it go he got snippy and his (ill-informed) counterargument was that they also had mango salsa on a lot of dishes but don't list all of the ingredients in the salsa. Now I'm an airline pilot not a chef. But even I know that salsa is, by its very nature , a BLEND. And he considers himself a professional restauranteur? What else doesn't he know about what's in his food?? What if I had a food allergy? Disturbing to say the least. My girlfriend's order was messed up too but I wanted to keep this short. To paraphrase a wise, well known philosopher, eating at Smees is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get....

We got our order to go. The fish was very good, but the fries were under cooked and soggy. I specifically requested that the fries be crispy. Never mind the slaw. It's cabbage and cheap mayo. No flavor at all. Keep it off the menu if you can't make it. We will give them one more try, but if you guys can't cook the fries next time, we won't be back. By the way, we live a block away from you.

Good food. If you order the catfish be careful of the sauce that comes with,it is real spicey, doesn't come with tartar sauce, you have to ask for the tartar sauce.
