Not sure what the complaints are about. Must be fake reviews from some haters I guess. Best selection in Vegas and knowledgeable staff. Gregg and Donna aee very helpful and wont steer you wrong. Prices aren't the cheapest around but selection and service more than make up for it.

I'm new to the LV area and had seen some advertisements for this store on local Craigslist ads and figured I'd check it out. I was very impressed, the store is very clean, isles are large enough for someone my size (Big guy) to walk through with my kids, prices were reasonable, and the owner was awesome to chat with and get to know. Once I get my tank going again I'll definitely be going back to purchase their reasonably priced Live Rock and and livestock.

Small store with a nice assortment of fresh & salt water fish along with a few tank packages. I haven't been to a specialty fish and tank store in many years but in my opinion the tank packages seem a bit pricey. The store is very clean and neat and the people are very friendly. I recommend checking it out if you're interested in purchasing some unique and beautiful fish.

When I was there a few days ago, their employees demonstrated their comfort level with the products. I watched them set up this huge saltwater aquarium that looks like would have taken a lot longer if you didn’t know how to assemble one. They gave answered my questions and provided helpful guidance. Greg, the owner is friendly, and really took his time to explain and provide advice. Price Wise-they’ve got the best prices around and you’ll get “the best deal for your budget !!! “… I’m impressed !!! Superb Service and Product Quality is Unmatched !!!

Love going to Blue Reef. Not only do they have great customer service, but they treat us like family. They remember our names, which seems minor, but it goes a long way with us. Most of all, they remember the type of tank we have and the fish in it. If we wanted to add fish to it, one of the workers would tell us if it goes well with the other fish we already had. Thought this was going to be one of the fish stores to shop. After purchasing a tank spending almost $500.00 there which purchased filters for the tank that one of the sales people assured me would fit the tank with another confirming. I live across town from them to get home to find the filters didn't fit. Going back to exchange them to find that 3 people in the store wouldn't exchange them because the package was opened that I would have to talk to the manager who wouldn't be in until that Monday. Three (3) sales people couldn't make a decision on a $10.00 pack of filters because the package was opened, not used, but opened. Go figure that.

Seems like the owner is a racist, due to my experience and reviewing all the other bad reviews that happen to be from other non- Caucasians. I've been in there twice with my boyfriend and both times was followed by this short young Caucasian female who makes it very obvious that she is following my boyfriend and I. My boyfriend would ask her questions and she would barley answer them, I felt uncomfortable the first time I went but didn't make much of it; typical ignorance. I went in there yesterday and the same thing happens, we walk in and it's the same girl again and the owner who was eating at the front counter (totally unprofessional) she was standing there just smiling and chatting it up with Greg I believe is the owners name. As soon as we walk in she starts to follow us and asked us if we needed any help and we told her "we were in the neighborhood and wanted to stop by" she begins to follow us and feeds the fishes ( I don't know if it's diversion just so she can pretend like shes doing something while watching us) This store isn't big at all, so there is no need for someone to be following you and standing right next to you everywhere you go. The store is clean, they have an okay selection of fishes and corals but the prices are a bit pricey. We ended up buying a 2 snails - my boyfriend would ask this young lady a question and she would barley answer then in full sentences (very socially awkward girl or just awkward around Latinos - but in her mind I'm sure she thought we were Mexican) As we leave Greg was doing a water change and my boyfriend says "doing a water change? those are always fun to do" the guy doesn't even look at us as we walk by and murmurs some baloney as we walked out the store. What an experience, I won't be going back and I won't be recommending this place...EVER

this is a good store, they have great selection, but the service is horrible!!! at one point two of the employees were whispering back and forth about the fish we bought. and one of them was just about dead by the time I got home. they do not get back to in reasonable time at al, I bought a tank stand than found out I didn't need it I called to find out if I could return for cash back or even store credit and never call back after being told I would... they are decent but need better social skills/

this place service is garbage the younger people there are a little helpful when you can talk to them but this guy greg & his wife are very rude & mean they sold me a crab with two legs (which is not the problem people make mistakes) then sold me a hermits crab with no hermit crab inside the shell but the last straw was when they sold me a fish with a big cut on the side(I didn't see it at the time because i had brought four fish that day all from them ) then when I brought the fish back just to exchange it she said that she check the fish before she give it to me lol (just like the hermits crab she said she had check too now this is the problem I do not do business with people that are liars)..... look i spend hundreds of dollars at this place I will not lie about a five dollar fish (I don't have time for that ) That when I realize these people at this fish store look for there sick or damage fish to sell to me ...if greg & his girl wasn't at this store it may be ok but not with their rude service the guy greg when I brought the last fish back throw the fish at the ground and killed it(if it didn't die I bet he put it back into the tank for someone else to buy) if I had wanted to killed it I could have done it myself if thats what I wanted done to it he better have my new one in 3 days like he said or im going to throw his as to the ground after I get this fish I will never come back here again

You could not pick a worse aquatics store in town. The employees ignore you and the livestock looks sick. Tried to do some bargaining based on the health of the corals and fish and was shut down. Sorry but Im not paying exorbitant prices, because they are asking a lot for corals, for unhealthy livestock that will most likely die in a few days. I like to gamble but only if there is a chance to win. Take your money elsewhere. There are a few other fish stores in town that actually offer customer service when you walk in the door and will work with you on prices. I understand that everything in the store may not look 100 percent healthy but if someone has shown an interest in it and is willing to take it off your hands instead of you letting it die in your tank, its sometimes best to let them. Avoid. BAD WATER and BAD LIVESTOCK.

You know, I am kinda frustrated with these folks. I like them and they have always been friendly with me though it does take a bit for them to warm up to you. The store is clean especially the tanks which are normally well stocked. Yes they are more expensive than others but they are convenient for me. However, coupled with the fact that I have absolutely no luck with their fish stock and they offer ZERO warranty compared to other Vegas stores that give you at least a 24hr warranty - I will now dedicate my spend for livestock at other stores. I test my water parameters and let them test it in the store as well and they say all is well - YET! In the past three months, many dead chromies that don't last a week, two dead clownfish that didn't last two days, and today an Arrow Crab that didn't last 45 minutes - I don't know what to say. All my other stock from other sources seem to flourish and while the money outlay is one thing, I feel that if you're going to take these critters out of their natural environment, the least you can do is do your utmost to maintain them, after all they are totally dependent on the tank owner! This is simply my experience, however, the lack of luck buying expensive saltwater critters hurts the wallet and I will have to keep shopping at other stores that I have better results with. Your experience may be better and I hope so.

Love this place they have healthy fish and a variety of Aquarium stuff thats at reasonable prices. I dont go to other pet stores who charge 2x more than Blue reef. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I called to ask about water conditioners and went in a while after. I was stating at the water conditioners and someone walked up and said were you the one who called? Then pointed me in the right direction. Nice to see people who care enough to pay attention and remember. Plus the staff know and can answer all your questions on fish, tanks, the right rocks to have and how they can affect ph and keeping water good etc. Definitely the place to go.

I purchased a 75 Gallon tank and stand with overflow, sump, led lights, skimmer, return pump, 60lbs live rock and 40 lbs sand from Damon. Set up was easy, but didnt come with a durso. Damon was extremely helpful and professional as usual and explained the steps and was very easy. I had some issues with noise to the tank, but Greg suggested that i upgrad the durso pipe from 1" to 1.25" the difference in the sound was night and day. Ive been visiting Blue Reef Aquatics on and off for 4 years and the first tank I have purchased from them i have no regrets. Thank you Blue Reef Aquatics for your outstanding service!

Much like a previous reviewer my fiance and I were driving around the city checking out the fish shops that carried marine fish and supplies as I'm setting up a small saltwater tank in addition to my larger established freshwater tank. I found this shop to be reasonably priced on many of the items and the livestock. The owner guy was very helpful and was full of information in regards to setting up our tank. Very much worth the 35 min drive from across town. The tanks are beautifully maintained. A+ shop, will definitely return for livestock after cycling my tank for a bit.

Owner was very rude. I was asking questions about a pump and he kept drifting off into conversations with other customers. After the third time I walked out. All of their stuff is expensive, and not by a few cents. Spiro is $4 more than Aquatic Treasures, their live rock is $1+ more expensive per pound. Just around the corner from me, but I'll drive the extra distance and give my business to Aquatic Treasures, much more friendly owner, extremely knowledgeable and a lot less expensive.

I drove across town twice in the last 2 weeks to look around, ask questions and buy a few things. Both times I was greeted almost immediately and asked if I needed help. First time I bought a couple of water pumps and the guy I am guessing is the owner went way out of his way to explain what I really needed, even told me ways to save money. The second time I went in, just yesterday I was greeted by a younger employee and though he didnt have the answers I needed was friendly and kind. He handed me off to a lady I am guessing is also the owner. She was very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable explaining where I was with my new tank. She helped me select a clean up crew, and a Barbershop gobie - shrimp pair that fit the needs of my tank... NOT what she could push off on me to buy like another LFS I had gone to. Personally I though the prices were extremely fair considering the cleanliness, presentation and selection of the equipment, corals and fish! Thank you Blue Reef Owners and staff, I will be back.
