Walked in and was impressed by the tanks.... that's as far as it got. Absolute zero customer service for half an hour. I left the store before anyone even acknowledge my presence that I wanted to buy from the limited amount of aquatic plants. Everything is horridly over priced. A small small coral was like $50. A below average was $200. I will never recommend this store to anyone. Go to Aqua Pets off 108th and Maple, they have a good selection and the guy who works there knows exactly what he's doing. The employees that worked there, if that's what you can call it, stood in the back room and peeked out at everyone a few times and then just went back in to test their tanks water. People were just walking around waiting and waiting. Then there was the owner I think, he was just sitting in office not doing anything. Just sitting there while people were looking to make purchases.

The store is nice, the staff is knowledgeable. However, I don't know how they stay in business. Every time I go there they find a different reason not to sell me fish. First it was my tank needs to set empty for 6 months. Then it was your not buying special bottled water. Then it was you don't have an adequate way to test your water (I use test strips). Then it was well these fish need a planted tank. Then it was I . . . . . stopped returning. Done wasting my time.

Initially, after either poor experiences and lack of help or knowledge in multiple other stores, I thought this store was THE best. I purchased three items (aquatic plants) while in this store. The staff is very knowledgeable and the supply is amazing! I was VERY clear about the habitat I had and the needs I needed fulfilled. I followed all of the directions that were given to me. After 5 days, 2 of my 3 plants were failing to thrive. I called the store and the staff was helpful, gave me further directions, and told me to call back and ask for a specific staff member. Instead of calling I brought the 2 plants back to the store where I WAS IMMEDIATELY BLAMED FOR THE ISSUES AND THAT I DID NOT MONITOR THE CHEMICALS IN THE WATER (which I do, and the water is great) I WAS BEING ATTACKED WITH A ONE-SIDED ARGUMENT, WHICH I WAS ABSOLUTELY NO PART OF NOR WAS I PARTICIPATING!!! THE STAFF PROMPTLY TOLD ME THAT 'IF YOU WANTED TERRESTRIAL PLANTS, THIS IS NOT THE STORE FOR YOU AND YOU SHOULD JUST GO TO MULHALLS." What?!? Fist of all, why would you argue with me. I was calm and not even upset!...UNTIL NOW! I just simply wanted to know how to fix the issue or exchange for a more ideal plant. IN ADDITION TO THE FACT THAT I WAS GOING TO SPEND MORE MONEY! I was informed by the staff member that he told me this would happen. WHAT!?!?!? I really could go on. SO, IF YOU WANT TO BE MISINFORMED AND THEN BLAMED FOR THE ISSUE, AND ALSO UN-WELCOMED TO SHOP IN THIS STORE THEN GO HERE. IF YOU LIKE TO FEEL WELCOMED AND APPROACHED WITH GOOD LISTENING SKILLS...DON'T SHOP HERE!!!

I like this place. I don't buy much because I'm afraid that the fish won't survive in my tank and they aren't cheap. When I get to a point where I'm confident that survival rates are acceptable I might start getting more expensive fish and this place has the largest most diversified stock in the area. For now the fish that I'm comfortable with can be had cheaper at another store.

If you are looking for top of the line aquatic goods , this is the place for you. They offer a large assortment of both salt and fresh water supplies. If you are in to Planted tanks they are also the place for you. I was amazed that you could buy RO water by the gallon there (50 cents/gal ) as well as saltwater by the gallon (1$/gal). I would recommend this place to everyone. They also have live salt water rocks for sale by the pound... I will definitely be stopping in again!

These guys are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions you may have. This is the only place I buy fish from now they have an amazing selection and actually quarantine fish before putting them out for sale. I have bought probably over 100 fish from them in the past 1-2 years and have only had 2 die the rest are still alive and healthy. In addition my tank is planted and doing very well. The store is always clean and they have an awesome selection. Keep up the great work guys and gals!

A recent visit to the store was a delight. New staff was on hand, and I was attended to immediately. They were courteous and knowledgeable. The tanks are candy to the eye...crystal clear, healthy stock and oodles of variety. They have a great selection of foods, supplies and décor available. The entire experience was a treat for myself and my family. It was like a visit to a living art museum. A gem of a store that I would recommend for any enthusiast, or someone looking to get into the hobby for a vision of what a manicured tank looks like.

Great store. Clean and well cared for. Wide variety of things/plants/animals. They are expanding into reptiles/amphibians now, and am already buying frozen feeder animals from them at very fair prices for my snakes. We will be here regularly for reptile things and to see how they choose to expand. Very excited. Already have some unique herps in. Never have an issue getting help, just walk up and politely ask. Everyone in the store has been very accomodating and helpful so far and the employees are always busy cleaning something or other. Nice to see the hard work put into the place. It shows!

Wasn't there. I was visiting a merchant in the same building. I stopped in NE. Aquatic Supply once a few years back and was treated like garbage. I seriously had to stop myself from getting into a heated argument with the A-hole that was running the place. I have never been treated so badly in a public place. will never go back in there and have since spent a lot of my hard earned money at Phish Phreaks. I give this crapshack 1 star becauae I can't give 0

Everyone is nice. However, communication between staff members leaves MUCH to be desired, as does providing more assistance to aquarium newbies. Ownership has changed but new owner has yet to rectify issues I had with fish. I have switched to another vendor for my aquarium maintenance-the other vendor is great, and they have already corrected issues that NE Aquatics knew but did not address. I spent a total of several hundred dollars at NE Aquatics-again, the staff is very nice, but they will be getting no more $$ from me.

Went there for the first time yesterday and wow! The tanks were gorgeous, including the reptile ones! Beautiful tanks, suoer friendly staff, reasonable prices and people who know what theyre doing. Met one of the guys at the local reptile expo and bought mice for my ball python from him. He took my snake out of its bag to measure it to get the proper mice. Super helpful not just for fish. Will go here first for any of my reptile needs.

Not a bad store, when I went in they were very under stocked which was disappointing but can happen. The main turn off was that the employees didn't seem that interested in answering questions, and at times would disappear completely and I had to go look for them when I thought they were actively helping. This shop is out of my way so since it didn't wow me I'll stick with my other two LFS.

The staff here seems very knowledgeable and friendly, however their products are limited and very pricey. Maybe I'm just a spoiled online shopper, but I will really be hoping and praying that I don't ever run out of a supply and hope they have it in stock and reasonably priced! I bought two heaters here. One was a glass one that I noticed had a crack after day 3 in my aquarium. I returned it, not thinking they'd refund me or anything like that, but they acted like they didn't care it was broken or it was my fault it was broken. (maybe it was, maybe I just didn't inspect it, I'll never know) I then bought a titanium heater, for an outrageous up charge, got it home, inspected it, and found saltwater all over it (clearly used, but still full priced). Come here if you want some great advice on tanking/reefing/fish, but don't buy anything unless you're loaded or you have no other place to turn to.

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews... I went here yesterday just to see what it was like. A female worker came right up to me and explained the layout (FW, SW, community, s-aggressive, etc.) And then I said thank you and I would let her know if I had any questions. She happily walked away until I asked for help and she was immediately there. Very great experience, very knowledgeable staff and very friendly. UPDATE: I have gone there 3 times since this review. I'm terrible with names, but I had a different female help me out the last couple times. I'm trying to start a saltwater community and know diddly squat about it. She happily assisted me with all of my questions. She helped me for about 45 minutes and remained really patient and attentive. At one point I apologized for asking so many questions, and bothering her with how much I didn't know and she replied with something along the lines of "don't be sorry! I really respect that you are doing your research before jumping into something that can be very complex at times". This store has absolutely wonderful customer service, and very friendly staff. I will be doing all of my fish shopping here from now on.

Took some family from out of town to visit your store. I have family members that are VERY invested in fish tanks and are able to have disposable income for this hobby. You will never receive a dollar from us. You have the most rude staff we have ever encountered. We were met at the door by a female staff member that had zero interest in helping us because we had a toddler. Your staff member was very rude to us before we ever walked 5 feet into the store. We will never come back to you establishment and we will be sure to express the same experience to others we know.

If you go here make sure you work with the girls the guys never really will talk to you for even a moment so definitely heads up on that one otherwise pretty decent experience. Oh and also, I was on 'the list' for a Royal Gramma. Came in and saw they had some, was told they didn't even check the list and the fish were already sold. Why do you even have a list?
