Excellent knowledge, selection and service. Very reasonable pricing compared to other local stores and big box pet supplies. I plan to buy all my fish from him moving forward. FYI: if they do not have a particular fish, just ask. On more than one occasion, they have offered to order a species in for me.

John is always very knowledgeable and helped me get a new tank setup the works. Often gets in whatever random fish I request too. A lot better to see a specialist than some kid at another store or big chain store

The only lfs that will actually tell you what you need to know, the chain stores sell you fish that rarely survive and the fish store has a bunch of kids at the register that know next to nothing about what they are selling. This guy has been in the hobby/ business for 20+ years,. i pay a couple of bucks more for a fish from his store just because he has never steered me wrong on a fish and everything i've bought from him has survived, unlike the fish store and petco

Only one person in the store nobody to help you had to tell the person to help me to buy fish that was kind of high-priced for the service. we gone to other fish store are willing to help and ask questions as you go through the displays of fish kind of giving you a little story about each fish that you're interested in and telling you what this is might not be compatible with the fish that you have or the size of your tank which is nice to know when you're not a fish expert but a fish lover.

New to town and looking for a good fish, this is not it. Showed up at 5:10 the open sign was on so we went in. He wad rude and said he was closed but we were free to look around. Then someone else came in and he said the same crap to them. So we walked out and went to The Fish Store on 48th. The hours were posted on the glass so small you couldn't see them and the open light was still on. I will never return.

First World is my go-to store for fish, snails, and aquarium supplies. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. I often all for advice on my tank and he's happy to help, so there's much more to get here than just fish.

I was having trouble with this rope fish i perched from them. I had to do a lot of fast research to find out the there pretty much blind foods got to be introduced to them right in front of ther face. Would of been nice to kno this from the beginning.

Since John has been doing this forever, he's very knowledgeable, especially on the freshwater side of things. Fish health is always first rate. Selection....not nearly as good as it used to be. His inventory has dwindled. If you are looking to trade in/sell any fish for store credit, don't bother. He doesn't give you squat. Why not help out the local hobbyist....the people that have kept your doors open all these years? Try AJ's Reptarium on Cornhusker Hwy for a fair shake on trade-ins.

honest advice from professional experienced tank owners. If I have a question, problem, or maybe just looking for advice that's the place I trust. I have been raising and breeding tropical fish for over 30 years and I learn new information every time I talk with them. It is the only fish store in Lincoln that will give you answers. private tank owners usually will not part with secrets. Also I have never bought a bad fish there, that's the only store I can say that about...... anywhere!!!

Some of the best fish I have seen in a store! as far as the rude comment goes I was in there at 5:30 they unlocked the door and let me come in even though they were closed. some of the nicest people I have dealt with in the fish hobby! tons of information and very helpful staff!! The owner of this store is phenomenal! He is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I called and told him my fish was sick and he offered to look at him. I took my fish to the store, he diagnosed the issue and suggested a remedy AND he wasn't pushy nor did he use my situation to his advantage. He could have told me I needed lots of different equipment and meds for my fish but this wasn't the case. I will continue frequenting this store plus he has a good supply and variety of healthy and beautiful fish.
