I am a picky eater. The prices are great! They are no higher than any other restaurant. The prices and food was better than Jazz in my opinion. My husband and I had the jambalaya, gumbo and shrimp and catfish basket. We both ate for $33.15. The food was fresh, tasty and very delicious. We will definitely be ccoming back. Sending a big shout out to the staff for their EXCELLENT customer service and to the owner!

First, I need to mention I watched Deadpool 2 before this exquisite dining experience and it was delightful. Watching Ryan Reynolds expertly bring the laughter out of me like volcanic quivering orgasm will set the tone for this review. I need to mention that I don't even like fish but the catfish platter lightly danced on my palate like two women salsa dancing with one another on a steamy, humid night in Mexico. Hush puppies....good enough to eat in house or place them in a aquarium and feed them like pets and raise them until they become tastier, fatter versions of their delicious selves. The waitresses. Young, clad in denim shorts, basically if you're on exclusive list that involves a red dot on certain websites, on parole or probation of any sort...this is not the place for you.

Went in with my daughter to try their fried alligator tail. We ended up splitting the jumbo basket which included alligator tail, seasoned fries, and hush puppies. The platter had a whole pound of alligator tail pieces so there was plenty for the two of us to share and the seasoned fries were fantastic. The place was not crowded when we went at 4 p.m. All in all it was a very fun outing.

This place is another gem in kc mo area. Great alligator bits and shrimp tacos are delish right amount of freshness with boiled shrimp. Our sever "Hope" is wonderful. Thank you Hope for great experience and thanks to the cooks for great presentation and meal.

We have been going to this little Fish Market for years. There are many items on the menu, but I always, always have to get the shrimp and catfish basket with hush puppies and fries. An extensive selection of sauces and condiments, and PBR in the coldest glasses around. The iconic shark in the front of the restaurant has been photographed with a head it's it's mouth for years upon years. The place is small, cozy and clean. The staff is friendly. They have some cool merch available for purchase sometimes. The last time I was in the music overhead was a bluegrass rendition of a Led Zeppelin album and it was AWESOME. Definitley add this to your list of places to try if you like catfish, aligator, frog legs, okra, shrimp, crawfish, Jambalaya, gumbo, or any of the many other Cajun foods offered and cooked to perfection.

This place would be a perfect fit for Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives TV show, having qualities of a small family diner and a dive! Place is not much to look at but the fish is great. This place used to be an actual fresh fish market back in the day & adopted the name for the restaurant.Try the conch fritters with 1 of the sauces they bring to the table. The catfish nuggets & fried shrimp combo is also good. Wait staff is attentive, cooks provide hot food made to order, and place has a relaxed, family style feeling. Check it out if you want to try something different in an out of the way location.

Brought back childhood memories of my parents buying our Seaford from the original Fish Market many MANY years ago. Fried catfish bites & shrimp we're really good! The Coconut Rice was so yummy I had to get another order to go for a late night snack. ;).

Amazing find, way better than any big chain restaurant. Hands down best and freshest catfish and shrimp in KC, and you don't have to get dressed up. The jambalaya and gumbo are calling my name, if they are anything like the shrimp you won't be disappointed!

Amazing! The food is fabulous! We had the fried shrimp and fried catfish basket. Best hush puppies ever and they aren't kidding when they say they have the coldest beer around. Staff is friendly and inviting. Not very big but would so be worth the wait if they were busy! We will be back!

This is a great place for sea food! My toddler enjoys herself here. I had the jumbo size chicken gizzards. My wife had the jumbo size shimp and catfish special with slaw and fries. We drank water but I saw many people enjoying various cocktails. They were taking care of a pretty big family in the bar area when we left. The women's restroom has a baby changing table. I paid $21 for about 20 pieces of 60 count shrimp and an equal number of catfish pieces that where smaller than the shrimp. Bottom line, I won't go back the service is slow and it's over priced.

This place is great. The food was awesome. I had the mix catfish and shrimp combo basket. My wife and daughter had the shrimp tacos. We ordered a side of zucchini which was huge. I also have the gumbo it was nice and spicy. had a great mix of vegetables with okra and some sausage and shrimp. They have Crystal's hot sauce which is really good. They have a great selection on their menu for non fish lovers as well. And a good selection of beers as well. They bring you draw beer out in a huge punch bowl sized cup.

First time for me...!! The Frog Legs were so good!! Being a Prairie Gal from Saskatchewan, Canada I can say we don't have restaurants like this up in the Great White North... But I loved every bit about this cozy little place!! I most definitely will be going back!!

Good place for a cold beer and made to order seafood. I think they also serve chicken and BBQ, but I always order the shrimp po-boy. Service is pretty good and the servers are friendly. They get busy around dinner time and it's a small restaurant, so you may have to wait.

My principal told me they had the best fish and chips in KC. Well I was a bit disappointed to find out that their fish is catfish. Had my heart set on cod. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are small tender and perfectly cooked chunks. Perfect for dipping into their delicious tartar sauce and hot sauce, which is the perfect mild heat. I like to dip it in the tarter sauce and then the hot sauce. The fries/chips were seasoned just a little and the meal came with two hushpuppies. I was very happy with the service and atmosphere. I had me a Schlitz in a frosted bowl to wash it all down with. It was my first time there but definitely won't be my last...they have a nice looking menu to work through.

Great little hole in the wall with awesome shrimp! This is a small restaurant that used to (I'm told) only sell fish but now they do that AND have the restaurant too. The shrimp was huge and cooked perfectly. The conch appetizers are tasty and the waitress actually appeared to be enjoying her job! Leave room for dessert too as I had the key lime pie and it was good but all the desserts looked wonderful!

Well the bartender was rude, arrogant and very much came across like she knew everything. Which was very annoying. The other staff member appeared friendly and I would much rather try the restaurant again and set at a table and not at the bar. I had the conch fritters as an appetizer they were really good. I had the catfish and fried shrimp basket that came with french fries and Hush Puppies. The french fries were average. The hush puppies were good but the catfish which came as catfish little nuggets and then the shrimp were nuggets. They were horrible and the breading was horrible. I was expecting really good catfish fillets with a really good breading on them. I could not tell the difference between the fish and shrimp. It was a neat atmosphere. It was very overpriced. If you want good catfish fillets go to jumpin catfish in Lee's Summit or Catfish Charlie's on 224 Hwy near Lexington.
