Witnessed an associate force feeding baby ball pythons on the floor. This is a last resort dangerous feeding method that should only be done by a professional in extreme situations. Any animal requiring to be force fed definitely should not be for sale.

This place has really changed from the old days. The last few times we've visited, the store reeks of cigarette smoke. They shouldn't be smoking anywhere in that building or around the animals. It's bad for their health.

Hello, I have been here twice and it seemed okay at first but this place is terrible. I don’t know if they house their animals in temporary cages or if they live in those 24/7 but they are too small. I have seen dead frogs in cages, chinchillas living alone (chinchillas are social and need partners), guinea pigs living alone (once again guinea pigs are social and need a partner). I was walking around and saw a door that said employees only, it happened to be opened and what was inside was horrific. There were mice in tiny tanks piled on top of each other and fish in dirty tanks crowding the tank. Even if the mice were feeders for the snakes, it doesn’t mean you have to treat them like they aren’t pets. I don’t wanna be mean about a review I just wanna tell the people that work here that you should give them better cages (if they are permanent) and give the guinea pigs and chinchillas some partners. I didn’t have a problem with the people there they were kind and let us hold a snake, gecko, and bird. Just give your animals more care, thanks

We have been driving by this pet store for years. You can see it clearly from I-70. My family decided today was the day we were going to stop in. Our world is being over ran with chain stores all over. My family prefers to shop locally own businesses. Unfortunately we aren't from this area and haven't stopped by before, but we have passed it many many times. I didn't know what to expect when we walked in. I was surprised to see how clean the place was. All the aquariums were so clear. They had a large selection of fish and reptiles. The staff were some of the friendliest I have ever encountered anywhere. They were engaging, they were knowledgeable, and you can tell they were hardworking. Unfortunately our chain stores are putting out the little businesses like this. People need to shop places like this more. I wish I was taking a few more pictures because it was a wonderful experience I would like everybody to enjoy. I hope you'll take your pocketbooks and drop cash at this place instead of supporting the bigger chain stores. I hope I continue for years in the future to be able to drive by this place and still see it open. I know I will be stopping more often to make purchases.

Brothers has everything you could possibly need for your aquarium, either fresh or salt water. I went in one day with my 5 year old grandson. I had a very small tank that I had given to him to see if he truly was interested in the hobby. But there was a tube missing so I went to Brothers. Unable to find what I need, I asked a young gentleman for help. He was very helpful and put up with my constant talking. He found exactly what I needed and answered many questions I had. First rate service!

went for dog food and supplies, the gentleman was very kind and helpful, spent 15 minutes discussing dog food.we spoke about our own dogs, and you can tell his animals are his 4 legged children. The young ladies working there were kind and when they didn't have an answer they went and found out. Family run store,. Not a big box store. Large dog section with food from standard to premium, many natural treats and toys, cat section asvl well. Thank You for the help guys. Also their Taste of the Wild dog food is cheaper than chewy . Com. Went back March 2nd, owner remembered me. Very kind helpful staff. New owner since 2015. They have a nice dog bathing and grooming area for rent for 15.00. Great pet store, competitive prices, and will try to get a product if you need it, if possible. Awesome doggy products. Thank You guys, I will be back.

Lovely place. It has a very good range of freshwater and marine fish, as well as water plants, tanks and equipment. Here you will find things you needed for your fish! tanks, decorations, fish food, chemicals for the tank maintenance, the fish and the aquatic plants or and all kinds of pretty plants too. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and give good advice.

DO NOT give this shop business. These animals need to go to a place that actually cares for their wellbeing, not just money $$. They don’t even have AC for the poor animals, just fans. This place needs better management or better yet, a surprise visit from an inspector. They’re careless. Rabits have over grown nails, Rodents have rashes, cats have no beds or toys, I’ve often seen dead fish laying in front of their tanks and I’ve watched a mouse run across the store. The employees & manager are careless. Got a kitten from this store and all I did was pay and go. No information, absolutely nothing. Didn’t even know the cat breed nor did they bother to look for their kittens “records”.

Great place to get mice to feed my pet snake. Good rewards program, and the staff is helpful (I just ask them for a mouse so I don't have to pick it out myself, they always do it without a problem). It's a pretty convenient location (despite the fact the parking lot sucks), and I would definitely recommend them.

This place has been around since my childhood. Used to be at the old Blue Ridge mall. I guess it is sentimental of me to be so happy to see it is still open. I miss the days where they had more cats and I think dogs as well. Fish are still their specialty and I would say reptiles definitely.They also have a nice supply of smaller furies. [like bunnies] I prefer them to Petsmart and will always check here first.

I personally love the place. The employees seem very nice and seem like they enjoy their job. There is a large variety of different animals and adorable fish. It may be a bit pricey but that's because they actually take care of the animals *cough cough PetSmart* I really enjoy it there and would go again. I hope that the people who don't understand the animals conditions are researching and finding out the place is very nice. Just because there is say a large amount of angelfish in one 30 gallon doesn't mean it's bad care because these are temporary homes. They don't need to have a whole wallwide aquarium because they aren't keeping the fish. I hope you can see past the obvious lies here and see good reviews.

I've had people recommend this place to me for years. The selection was good, though Miles of Exotics has them beat. The selection of supplies was impressive, even if the price was a bit higher. The staff was friendly and willing to help, though one of the two must be new. I felt like I was training her. Still, I wouldn't mind another visit. I did leave with a couple of newts and some supplies for my canister filter.

Fish brothers is an Amazing buisness. With such compassionate workers who comforted me I was in tears having to give up my fish but when I needed a home for my Fish FISH BROTHERS in KCMO took all my fish from my 55 G tank a Columbian pleco, 2 Blue gourami , 2 Angel fish, a flying fox and a blue ram cichlid. I recommend such caring people to help you with all your pet needs! Thank you!

I went to this store to buy something that would calm my friend's 65 pound dog when we had to leave her (the dog). They were visiting, for the first time, & when we left the house and couldn't take the dog, she (the dog) would whine and bark loudly. When I walked into the store, I was met at the counter by several employee's who responded immediately to my query with a selection of products, ranging in price from $5 (a peanut butter bar), $13 ( doggy treats) to $25 (a spray bottle) that could be used to calm the dog! The store clerk told us what we could expect from each product and told me stories of how he used one of the products on his dog and the effect the product had. I was very pleased with the product selection at the store and the knowledgeable and friendly service from the staff.

I’ve been buying a lot of my fish from brothers lately. A great place to spend your money locally. The advantages to buying here is they often have a larger selection than your pet smarts and petcos, they can custom order fish for you, and sometimes their fish are healthier. The only downside is they tend to be more expensive and don’t offer as long a guarantee on your fish. I love my puffer fish, corycats, and female betas I’ve bought and they’re all healthy and doing well.

Very small verity of fish in every tank there were dead fish. Black algae I seen in half the tanks poor neon tetra were all dead with one survivor picking at the dead ones terrible the kid working there were working cant blame them for the tanks but I think u guys need to seriously check all your water levels remove all dead fish and treat with fish antibiotics just incase u got some disease going around. I did not even bother buying fish from here all the dead fish I seen.

They had eight giant rats in a 10 gallon that was cracked and the hamsters had horrible care a mouse was throwing its guts up the reptiles had a little bit good care and the fish I liked their care except for the angelfish the angelfish were in a 10 gallon with 20 angelfish

Best fish store in K.C! Local family owned small business very knowledgeable about all things fish and aquariums. Just started my very first tank and they were all wonderful and so very helpful. Good place for feeder mice when they have them in stock. Always call ahead to ensure you don't waste fuel. The animal selection is standard to any pet store. Occasionally you'll see something different like a Veiled Chameleon or Different Types of Snakes. 5 Stars would be always having feeders in stock and a drop in prices on certain animals after they sit waiting for a home for a long period of time....
