These guys housed an elephant trunk snake (a fully aquatic snake that should be kept in an aquarium with no land) in a WATER DISH, inside of a larger enclosure. This alone is enough to turn me off of this store permanently, however the rest of the reptiles were also very poorly looked after (though fortunately not to this extent), and it is unfortunate that so many amazing animals have been purchased by Jungle and kept in these unsuitable conditions. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

We were treated very rudely by the owner, which surprised me because I thought we had been very good customers. I had purchased many adult rabbits there, many of whom were unwanted pets or were injured, sick or pregnant, because I wanted to make sure those rabbits got good homes. I think the owner became enraged with us after we discovered one of their tiny baby rabbits (likely separated from its mother too soon) who appeared unresponsive and had a huge mass of feces stuck to its vent. I tried to wipe away the feces with a napkin and then showed the baby to the owner so it could be cared for. I've gotten many good rabbits there and paid an average of $40 for each rabbit. Toaster, Olivia (who had a yeast infection that affected the mucous membranes), Marge (who had been attacked by a male and had a torn and bloody ear), Kitty (who was pregnant when I got her from the Jungle and had four babies), Black Buck (ear infection), Hagrid (an unwanted pet brought in who was extremely matted and had to be shaved) and Ghost (an unwanted pet brought in by a customer). I liked the Jungle and very much wanted to support it, but I think the owner should have exercised a little more patience with me. I was only concerned for the life of that one baby rabbit. Now, whenever we show up, the owner comes running out of the office to intercept us and sternly warns us not to go into the rabbit cages. I will probably never return.

The birds in this pet store looked SICKLY. They were being kept in glass aquariums and the Macaw they had was missing all of its feathers - they pull their own feathers out when they are stressed. It was laying on the ground of the aquarium when we walked in - a bird should NEVER be laying down. The cockatiels looked malnourished.. I should know - I own one. I was NOT impressed with this place or they way they keep their animals. It honestly INFURIATED me to see animals kept so poorly. Some of the animals appear as if they taken care of but for the most part - everything was a MESS !! Please DO NOT buy animals from here

They've got a great selection, but they are very high priced. While that typically wouldn't bother me for when I'm looking for something hard to find, what does bother me is that the staff seems to be short with me every time. Not really willing to answer questions, not willing to stop and talk for two seconds, or anything. Its like "What do you need?" - grab that creature - and check out. No, time to stop for ten seconds or anything. Even when it isn't really busy. I've visited several times but I just don't know if I can keep going to a place that makes me feel rushed.

I stopped by to look because a friend of mine told me about The Jungle since I was looking for a small turtle. The place was very nice and clean for a pet store and you can tell the owner loves the animals. They're very well taken care of. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable and answered 100 questions I had. After looking around I went home with a turtle. I was very happy with my experience and even happier with my little turtle. I will definately be back. I highly recommend The Jungle. Such a cool pet store. I loved everything but my favorite were the monkeys. ❤❤

DO NOT BUY PET RATS FROM THE JUNGLE EXOTIC PET SHOP. NOT ONLY ARE THEY OVERPRICED, BUT THEY ARE POOR QUALITY WITH SERIOUS TEMPERMENT ISSUES—AN ADULT RAT BITE TO A HUMAN ADULT CAN TEAR THROUGH TENDONS AND BREAK BONES. Rats rarely, rarely bite unlike a lot of rodents, but if they’re getting them from the same supplier, they’re going to have a lot of customers with biting rats as their rats age, and I’ll tell you why. Let me preface this by saying I breed rats, good, quality pet rats. I know not to buy from pet shops, but I made the exception here. I went with my nephew, and we saw a lone agouti dumbo rat in a cage. I felt bad for her, as rats are very social and can become extremely depressed when alone, but what really got me was my nephew looking up at me with those big eyes begging me to save it. I gave in, deciding to just keep her as a pet and never breed her. The first red flag happened when I asked one of the workers about her. A cursory glance had told me she was most likely female—males basically have torpedos from the time they’re 4 weeks old, it’s pretty obvious, and she was an adult already. I went to ask about her, and the man said she was a male. I shrugged, figured maybe she was just laying weird. But when he went to get her out, he froze. “Oh... no, she’s a female. Sorry. Anyhow, you want her? She’s the last one we got, you’re lucky.” It was pretty apparent from his response that she had been housed with males. I knew what I was getting into—a pregnant rat. I had thought she was just fat at first, but now it was clear. I kept waiting for the worker to warn me. He never did. I was annoyed but went to the cash register to pay for her. I expected a price similar to petco or petsmart. Their rats aren’t good quality, but they’re mainly used for feeders, and are fairly cheap if nothing else. Instead I got told to pay roughly $25. My jaw nearly hit the floor. Most quality ratteries across the nation don’t charge that much for a single rat, and their rats are pet quality with excellent temperaments with health problems bred out to ensure long lifespans. But my nephew was looking at me so I handed it over and took her home. Somehow things got worse. She was scared, skittish, but I expected that. My nephew said she had bit her, and he had a small mark, but not knowing the details of the situation, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately I could only handle her for about a week before she grew too big, and I left her alone so as not to stress her out until around 3 days after she had her babies. I reached in to pet her, and BAM. She grabbed hold of my finger, bit down, and didn’t let go. She had bit the side of the finger and her teeth slid under the skin/meat beneath my finger print. She eventually let go. It bled forever, and was bruised and sore for well over a month. I was lucky the part she bit was meaty, and I didn’t suffer any major loss of function or nerve damage. I had to wear gloves from that point forward. Even when handing treats or her babies back to her, she wasn’t interested in the food or her kids but biting my hand. She would attempt to bite me through the cage when simply changing her water. She had Maternal Aggression, a genetic hormonal problem passed from parent to baby that affects male and female rats, males normally when they hit puberty, females normally after having babies. Some females recover after having their babies, other’s do not. Her babies are long gone, but I still have to wear gloves whenever near her cage. I will sadly have to resort to euthanasia. I have children come to see my pets, including my own niece and nephew. While they are closely monitored, kids are sneaky, and all it would take was one of them going into the room while I was in the bathroom or something and reaching in to pet her to change their lives forever.

I have owned large birds, snakes, iguanas, and currently have a 100 gallon fish tank. This place was the closest thing to heaven for me! You name it and they have it. Need advice? They can help. It’s always been hard to find toys for macaws- this place has toys big enough and perches big enough! Their fish are huge and very well taken care of! I will be using this store from now on to care for or to purchase future animals!

Not a place for children, they have around 50 rats in one small cage that they use to feed the reptiles, and they feed them no matter who, including children, is in the room to witness the bloodbath. They should at least warn anyone in the room before they feed them. Also one of the turtles was turned on his back for 30+ minutes even after notifying the manager several times before they turned him back over. By that time he had already defecated on himself several times. But the reason for the high review is that there are two friendly dogs and a silver fox that roam the store, and you can pet them.

It appears all animals are taken care of except the reptiles, was in the store on 04/07/2017 and seen 3 ball pythons that had horrible stuck shed and appeared under fed and dehydrated, the room is too hot plus with the lamps on them causes the cages to have no humidity which makes it hard for them to shed.

I tend to buy frozen rodents for my snake here, and sometimes fish related things when I go. The staff is always friendly, though they keep running out of my size of rodent (medium rat). Regardless, I prefer going there over a place like PetSmart or Petco.

You go to find something as innocuous as decorative aquarium hardwood, and get inundated in a forest of bloody aquarium hardwood. They don't believe in moderation. Whatever it is, they stand a higher chance of having it. They also had in stock hard-to-find macro nutrients for aquarium plants. Who needs Amazon for pet products when there's The Jungle?

Went today looking for a prarie dog, there were 2 ladies in there.... I sat there for a good minute and the older lady never said a word to me, finally the younger girl walked up and asked if she could help me... I told her what I was looking for and the older lady answered my questions, EXTREMLY rude, wouldn't even look at me... just kept her head down the whole time.... I finally got tired of being treated like i was bothering her so I just left.... I hadn't been in there in a while but if she is there, I'm sure I won't be back. It had to be pretty bad for me to complain... the young girl was nice though and helped as much as she could...

buyer beware.. Bought an aquarium heater and uve filter about 5 days ago. Asked the sales rep if I could return these items if they did not work for me. She said no problem that she knew that my daughter and I shopped there all the time. I was not sure about the items when I purchased them so with the assurance I could return them was a relief. Well as it turned out I did end up having to return the items only to be told when I got to the store by the owner that I could either be issued a store credit for the full amount or could get a refund minus a 25.00 restocking fee. The cost of the two items was 170.00 so a store credit for that amount was not something I thought I could use and 25.00 seemed excessive. To make a long story short I suffered the fee and assured them I would never be back. They have no signs stating this policy and I was not told of this when I initially made the purchase. I am of a good mind to take them to small claims court just for the principal of this. Hopefully others will read this and be warned. By the way the prices in this store are mostly over priced and you can easily find most of what he sells for 30% less online or even at pet smart for 10.00 less on most items. Never again ... so I hope he enjoys the 25.00. If I could rate this store a zero I would however the lowest I can go is 1 which is an overstatement. Oh by the way I asked to speak to the owner face to face... hung around for 15 minutes waiting and was finally told he was not available. I would be ashamed to face folks too if I was in the business of ripping people off. Someone needs to teach this guy a thing or two about customer service which is non existent at this place.

The girls that were working were extremely rude. I only saw them once when I walked in after ignoring my greeting. I spent 45 minutes in this store and didn’t see them one time after they disappeared into the back to smoke dope. I was going to buy two snakes but realistically I could’ve stolen them with the lack of attention being paid to these animals. Shame shame. I probably could’ve taken all the animals as a matter of fact...without being noticed and taking my time. Other than that, this store was very lively and I’ve personally never seen a greater selection. Sucks the girls working were too lazy to make a sale because I really needed a friend.

This store does not take proper care of these animals. especially the reptiles, i saw ball pythons that were underfed,dehydrated,serious cases of stuck shed and enclosures too small and this was with alot of the reptiles there

This place has a little bit of everything. We saw both fresh & saltwater fish, iguanas, birds, snakes, lizards, gerbils, rats, scorpions, and last but not least a capuchin monkey. That's not a complete list, there's too much to list. They also carry a wide variety of pet supplies to go along with all the pets they carry. It's the largest supply of pet stuff not dominated by cat & dog stuff, that you can find in a store. Saturday's are really busy. This is not a petting zoo it's a purchase place. The only real issue I have is not very many pets have a descriptive label or price tag shown. Overall if you want to shop for any pet product that isn't really cat/dog related this is the place to go. They have a huge selection.

Excellent excellent excellent! The woman in the small animal Care helped us pick out a sweet new baby male rat that we named Nico that Is a perfect companion to our already submissive male rat Uno. His previous companion Scabbers was hurting him and I was given tips on how to reintroduce them after separation and how to handle him as a lone rat if all else fails. So far so amazing! Three happy rats!

They have monkey's! I could probably stop there and that would be enough. However, truly the best selection of exotic animals anywhere near Jackson Metro area. Their variety of pets is outstanding and everything you need to support your new friend is available. Daughter loved holding the Ferrets, and all the fury animals. I enjoyed the reptile room and the large birds. They had more fish than I could count, salt and fresh water, take your pick!

I love the animals here and they have almost anything I would want for my noodles but if there is more than 1 customer, prepare to wait a bit :) (I didn't mind!) There are always people asking questions about their pets and with 1 employee, that one has to take care of it all. But they are usually friendly and i have always loved coming here. The 1 bad thing I immediately noticed about the ball's (pythons) they shouldn't be more than 1 to an enclosure and they HAVE to have a hide! I'm no pro snake owner but I do know this much...and I thought they would have known as well.
