Boring, bland, and not a lot of variety. The fish didn't even have a smoked flavor to it. The beef strips were pretty good. Something to snack on while driving. But, I deffinetly wouldn't go out of my way to stop here. Super expensive for the blandness

Have been to a few very high end sushi restaurants, but this is some of the best smoked salmon I have ever had! (Had too take a bite of the smoked honey glazed salmon.) The atmosphere of the deli is very clean and welcoming. Wonderful service. Am impressed with how well the filet was wraped. Will make a special trip back since out of state. So beautiful up in Two Harbor's and a deli like this make it all the more worth while to make the adventure again!

Best place to stop on the North Shore, the smoked fish is amazing and the salmon spread they have is my all time favorite. The ice cream is the best I've ever had and each time I go in there are new crazy flavors so every visit is a new experience. I would definitely recommend!

Lou’s fish house is the greatest smoke house on the north shore, the sugar salmon is absolutely insane, and the shrimp is crazy good, I would totally recommend everyone to check out this iconic stop!!!!!!!!!

Iind of an institution on the North shore. Varieties of smoked fish, as well as ice cream. NOT cheap. I bought two smoked shrimp for what I thought was 99 cents a piece, but I misread the sign and it was $3.99 per individual shrimp. But since I committed I bough6 them anyway. Not good- when I tried them at home they were as tough as shoe leather. But at any rate, I'm sure the other varieties of smoked fish are great. The ice cream was also rather tasty.

This unique, beautifully renovated shop is a must-stop location if you're traveling on the North Shore. The fish is smoked to perfection--the cajun or sugar salmon is amazing! And you can't go wrong with hard ice cream for dessert! The lemon bar ice cream is so yummy! Put Lou's on your vacation agenda. You won't be disappointed!

I had the pleasure of touring the new and greatly improved facility with the new owners. They have done an amazing job of upgrading this famous north shore destination. I also was lucky enough to sample some of their test runs including honey glazed lake trout, brown sugar salmon, cracked black peppercorn lake trout and of course some fresh lake superior white fish. Yumm! Martha Stewart once said that Lou's was some of the best smoked fish she has ever tasted. I think she will want to come back and try these!!! Can't wait for them to open!!!

We purchased four items from Lou's on Sunday over Labor day weekend- shrimp, sugar salmon, sugar trout and whitefish, and immediately put them all in the fridge in our hotel (immediately- less than 5 minutes later). Then on Monday (a cool day), we put it in a cooler in our car and and traveled back to the twin cities by evening and put it in the fridge. So overall, it was at "very cool but not raw meat safe" temperature for maybe 6 hours. We ate the salmon on Tuesday and it was fine, but I opened the whitefish and trout on Wednesday and both were covered in slime and smelled absolutely rank. I am truly disgusted. We were quite surprised at the prices and spent the money in the spirit of supporting a small family business. the fish when fresh is very unremarkable. I am now having to purchase fast food for dinner.

The fish tasted pretty good. I am not a big fan of smoked fish, but my wife and her family are. The problem was there were two small worm-like parasites in the piece I was eating. I hope it will not make anyone sick. My wife and I are off smoked fish forever.

My Vietnamese mother in-law and father in-law absolutely loved the Cajun, Brown Sugar and smoked White fish that I dropped off for them. My mother in-law said; "Mmmm wow that's really good, pick up more next you go" Everyone in my family loved it as well. Thank you for making my stop pleasant, the staff did a great job helping me pick out the smoked fish! I can't wait to visit again to buy some more smoked fish!

We purchased Brown Sugar Smoked Lake Trout and Smoked Shrimp at the Sparkling Clean, newly renovated Lou’s Fish Market. Our purchases were smoked to perfection. Oh and the hand dipped old fashioned ice cream was superb. Lou’s World Famous Fish Market is a really nice addition to the North Shore of Superior.

I usually only leave reviews when I'm disappointed, but Lou's goes above and beyond and deserves a great review. Their fish tastes delicious without the icky fishy taste and the hard ice cream is the perfect excuse to stop. And such a wide variety of flavors! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I always make sure to stop in multiple times when I'm in the area.

Brought back memories stopping here again. I was bummed they were out of white fish. We were able to sample the trout and salmon and settled for peppercorn trout. The trout was very good and tasted excellent when we ate it with the cheese curds we purchased there as well.
