I was not too impressed about this place after I received my food for lunch one Sunday afternoon. You get charged airport prices, $10.00 or potentially more, for two mediocre pieces of frozen fish and fries. The staff is friendly and the quality of the food is good, but definitely nothing to write home about. I highly doubt the fish is brought in fresh multiple times a week only to be prepared from scratch in the back. I guess the rationalization here is they can justify charging you a premium because a beverage is thrown into the mix which can include a bottled water. Not worth it. You can go across the street to the nearby Cub Foods and get a chicken tender lunch/dinner (depending on time of day) for $5.50 and it is comparatively of the same quality. Although, if you really want fried fish there are various other places nearby that offer a similar dining experience.

Best customer service I have recieved in a long time. The employees are nice and know everything that they serve. The wait is shorter than the other fresh fried places in the area. If you have not bad so Hooks before I would recommend their chicken. There fries have a great seasoning.

This place is definitely one of my favorite fast food joints. The staff is always friendly. The service provided here is excellent! The food is mouth watering. I have tried almost everything from there menu and there is not one thing I can say that is not good. The seasoning they use is addicting, so be aware. My favorite is going to be the shrimp, (any) fish, then the okra. All in all, a great spot to choose, will not be disappointed!

Overall my experience here was great, the store is clean, the staff is polite and attentive. The food is also very good as well, it can be hard to pick with so many choices on the menu. They have a lot of fried options along with hot sandwiches of many types, you really can’t go wrong and the prices are very reasonable. Nice addition to the area!

We ordered from work and went and picked up our food, it was so fresh and hot, the manager was so nice and verified the separate orders and made sure the orders were correct and complete, such a nice change of pace. The lemon pepper chicken is outstanding, i get extra lemon pepper on mine, it's that's good. Highly recommend.

Just went and bought a 20 piece chicken 4 piece fish meal with fries.. This was the first time trying the Hooks Fish & Chicken out in Brooklyn Park.. I always eat Hooks over South Minneapolis because they are the best in TC.. I decided to try this one out.. My chicken taste burnt like old grease and fish is not cooked long enough.. Fish is to soft which when i buy it over South it has a crunch to it. Good price for food but im disappointed about the way my chicken taste

I’m a bit baffled by the 5 star reviews. I had the large catfish dinner. The catfish certainly seemed like swai. If you’ve had regular catfish, you know the difference. I ordered at the counter last of a party of three, but I received my food first after an exceedingly long wait with 3 other customers in the store (~30 minutes). The first order came last. Everything was roughly the same as far as order contents. I think they lost the order of the first order in my party. It came out in about 40 minutes. The fries were great. The catfish not so much. The filet tasted like it had freezer burn. It was textureless mush. When I got back to work, I felt ill. I’m pretty sure this was from the catfish or the room temperature, runny tartar sauce packets they gave me. Oh, the condiments are also handed out exceedingly sparingly. I was given two packets of ketchup for a massive plate of food. I had to go to the counter three times before they gave me an adequate 6-7 packets. Tl;dr do not go here. Slow service. Mushy fish. Bad tartar sauce. Edit: (reply to the owner’s response): I specifically asked at the counter if the fish was swai, and the cashier didn’t know. I wrongly assumed it wasn’t upon order as most establishments do notify the customer of such. The orders were received in reverse order. The first two orders in my party were the exact same thing, but the second order number was called first causing the first order to be delayed to ~30+ minutes. Honestly, the worst part of the response is that it feels like I’m being accused of lying. The worst part of the food experience was definitely the tartar sauce. It was room temp, and watery. I’m fairly sure it made me sick. I would strongly recommend refrigerating your tartar sauce.
