This place was AMAZING, must stop! Smoked trout and smoked salmon were the best my family has ever had! We made sure to stop by on the way home to get more! They only had smoked salmon but we were very happy they worked with us as they had actually closed and we had misunderstood the hours. Thank you so much guys! We also tried some deep fried whitefish at the restaurant next door to go, and my dad who usually isnt a big fan of whitefish said it was very good. I would recommend to stop as many times as possible on the way to and from your destination - delish!

Had the perch and it was really good. Love the nostalgia and atmosphere. Only complaint was the flies, it's a bit of an open place and there everywhere but dont let that keep you from really great fish

Sign on outside of building read I am already disturbed so come on in. Thought that was a joke. Instead we found out that was an understatement. The young women behind the counter was extremely rude. We will find somewhere else to buy our white fish.

My husband & I were in the Copper Country in late October visiting some of my family and stopped by to get some smoked fish. Ended up buying some salmon from Chile as well to make for my sisters and their husbands for dinner. So glad we made the stop. The salmon we cooked up was delicious. And the smoked whitefish chunk and fillets didn't disappoint either. The smoked fish took me back to my childhood when my parents would buy some from a friend at church. It was always around Christmas time so it was a special treat. Lots of happy memories. The smoked whitefish is gone now so we'll be ordering some for shipment soon. And we'll probably order some lake trout too. We would highly recommend a stop here if you're looking for fresh Lake Superior fish. You won't be disappointed.

Outstanding restaurant and market. I love the smoked whitefish and the innovative whitefish brats. Both items will keep in the fridge for a long time but mine are usually gone quickly. The prices are definitely fair for fresh fish. The restaurant just behind the market is fantastic. They have multiple items that I switch between each visit and their menu expands fairly often. I recommend anything they serve, no matter what you pick it will be fresh

Peterson's has great fresh and smoked fish. We are a repeat customer and particularly love their fresh salmon. They also have a small restaurant on the premises that is open seasonally. The menu is limited but everything we've tried there is absolutely delicious!

Would give 5 stars if I didn’t know that they are Indians that fish out of season and don’t follow fishing laws (they don’t have to). Those seasons/laws are put in place to protect fish. Superior is dying still, maybe not as fast as the other Great Lakes but I would like to lose that race.

Peterson fish market is a great place for lunch! I go there once a week...they have a very good whitefish sandwich, not to mention the great fresh fish they have in the market.

Friends and I finally got a chance to visit Peterson's, and between the Cod, the Whitefish, and the Taco plates, found the entrees to be rather average, and also somewhat pricey. The staff was great, and the food does come out quickly though

Seemed pricey at first, but servings were so large, that my two girls shared an order and both had plenty. so really it wasn't expensive. The food is fresh, made to order. Soda was only $1. Outdoor seating, nostalgic atmosphere. We'll eat there when we visit again for sure. They also ship from their website all year.

White Fish tacos are very good and worth the stop. We make sure to stop for lunch whenever we are in the area. We haven't had anything we don't like here. The smoked fish chowder is also highly recommend.

This place is just fantastic. I get the Lake Superior whitefish or trout fillets about once a week and it is so fresh, delicious and satisfying. The pricing is very fair and the staff are pleasant. They also have whole fish and house-smoked fish as well. Plenty of other fish/seafood options like shrimp or fish cooking rubs. The outdoor restaurant is wonderful. I recommend a couple of the fried whitefish tacos. This is a must-visit establishment if you're in the area.
