Kinda over priced on ferret food and reptile lights walmart has the same food for literally half the price pet station charges almost 35 dollars walmart charges 16 and the reptile lights ar about 10 dollars cheeper for the same brand.

I purchased some bearded dragons from a larger chain pet store, and though I think they meant well, they didn't provide a lot in the way of care instructions. After a couple of days, my beardies were listless and not eating. I called the Pet Station, and they quickly gave me all the right advice and provided me with the quality equipment I needed. Within hours my beardies were flying around the tank again and eating like they were starving. I will definitely be back!

Great care and selection of animals. They got your skunks, snakes, spiders, fish, fresh and salt, including coral plants. They got rabbits, and ferrets. Just amazing selection real happy I found this gem.

Great place for tropical fish. They have the best selection of fish in town (although options are limited in Jackson area). Helpful service. Prices I think are mostly in line with other "local" fish stores in Mid-Michigan. You'll probably pay a bit more than you would at Petsmart or Meijer, but you'll get better fish (with a much better selection) at Pet Station.

Glofish... had them for 9 days. In 9 days, the 4 glofish died as well as most of the rest of my community tank. 11 fish have so far died. I called them, they laughed at me. Told me it was the maintenance of my tank. The tank was established with the most recent additions being the glofish. Before the glofish, my tank had been thriving for a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks since I added ANYTHING to it. They deny it was their fish. I typically spend 100+/- dollars there every month or so. I will never spend another dollar there. Being laughed at, and them assuming that i am under educated on aquarium/paludarium care was upsetting to me, but to laugh at me was unprofessional. Good luck with your ventures through the pet station... As part of my business i am always on the market for pond fish, but will be seeking other routes for thise as well.

A week later and my fish caught ICH. DISEASED FISH FROM THIS STORE. Dead fish floating in tanks, pleco and crabs picking off debris so I suppose its not that gross....just sad. Employee wasn't knowledgable about the stock when asked questions about habitat/coexisting. For example, will they get along was answered, "these sorts of pets you never know until you put them in the tank together." I googled while standing there to learn that YES, the fiddler crabs are peaceful, however females are aggressive and territorial. Do not tank with bottom dwelling schoolers. Whoops. That would have been good to know cuz that's just what I did. Her comment on that concern was "most fish are fast enough to get away." When I asked whether the snails were sterilized she gave me a funny look like that's ridiculous...and said she'd never heard of that. Fish doctors in Ann Arbor has and only stocks sterilized females. Most places I purchase for aquariums do. Oh well. They did have really cute little fiddler crabs and dwarf red lobsters. Was interrupted in my consult by two other employees asking about an emergency with a customers tank leaking, but I don't know the story so cannot comment. Just left a bad taste and know I will never purchase a tank there due to that. I would hate to set everything up and then have a leak!!

I absolutely love the pet station! I have bought many fish from here and I still have all of them, (besides the ones my crayfish have gotten ahold of) they are very helpful, and kind. They answer any questions I have, and have all of the information I ask about. When I first went there, my fish tank was a mess, fungus, no fish, every fish I had put into the tank after cleaning it died (which were not purchased from pet station) after going into the pet station, the owner explained to me in detail how i could get my fish tank back to being healthy, and I purchased the reccomended items. After a couple of days my fish tank was healthy, and clean. I went back for fish. And have been going to them since!

PROS: Utterly unlike the chain stores; it is not glaringly bright, cavernous, and sterile - the environment in the building is better suited for critters (and people like me who dislike the typical retail atmosphere). Large, diverse selection of fish. Knowledgeable staff. CONS: Parking lot is small and oddly shaped, can be a tight, awkward squeeze especially if you drive a larger vehicle. While you can get things here that none of the other pet stores in town sell, be aware that this is not a one-stop shop for ALL your pet needs, selection is more limited and specialized.

This place has decent prices and a nice selection of animals. Problem is not everything they have is listed correctly. I own many turtles and then they said they have hybrids I wanted one. When I got there I saw nothing but southern painted turtles. Then I told someone they were not happy to hear someone correcting them. So before you buy something there. Make sure you know what you are buying.

I used to like this store. Up until recently. I purchased 2 baby rats from here. They were sick and I didn't know. Once at home I noticed they were sneezing. I breed rats so I have a lot. I housed them in my room. In their own cage. I also have many rats in there. Well thats where the sickness started! It started in my room. Killing 5 rats. Well then this rat disease made it into my living room. Killing more rats. It then moved to my back room. It was devastating. I've lost 13 of my rats due to this place. They lie like crazy and can't keep they're stories straight. They continue to sell these sick rats and act like they have had no complaints! Yet I know many people having this problem. SO BUYERS BEWARE

I have been to this pet store more then once. Also have spoken to the owner about a store bird! This parrot has white spots on its eyes and its breast bone is showing. They refuse to sell it or to allow me to take it to get looked at by a vet. Anyone who owns a pet store should make it high priority to make sure the animals are healthy. The excuse she gives is that the bird is old! I am a bird lover and have seen many healthy older birds! This bird needs to be seen by a vet.

Compare prices online or elsewhere before you buy from Pet Station. I was coming through Jackson one day last week and stopped at the Pet Station in search of an aquarium light... I should have checked online first. I paid $158.99 after tax for a 48" elive LED aquarium light that I found on Amazon Prime for $67. I will be giving the Pet Station a call to see if there maybe I paid for the wrong item. If they make it right I will update my post. I thought it was a little weird that they also had a pretty good size tank, maybe 55gal, with this same light on it, with a stand for about $250 ish.

I bought my 90 gallon tank and all my accessories for my saltwater tank here. The staff has been very helpful from start to finish. Any time I call or stop in with questions they are very helpful. I also bought 2 clown fish and a royal gramma that are doing very well. I would highly recommend them if you ever want to get into the saltwater hobby.

This place has a sense of being overpopulated with the wrong choices of pets as in I never seem to find what I'm looking for, there crickets are cheap though but if you get a bunch at a time then petsmart is the way to go. Last time I was in here I was inquiring about buying a snake and asked lots of questions about all aspects of owning one. The customer service felt as if they didn't really care or they made it seem like "well duh you should know that" kinda feeling. There are many better places in Jackson to find good quality pets. And if its reptiles or arachnids you seek then let me point you in the direction of the reptile trade show in troy. Yeah you can spend $400 for a complete set up and one snake at the pet station but at the trade show you'll be able to get better quality and more lively in depth conversation. $400 would get you like 3 snakes and set ups. Worth the drive is say.

I have bought a total of 4 Angelfish from here. I haven't needed to buy any more, because they were in great condition from the store, and they have had no problems since. I did return one for being aggressive and they were willing to trade it for another. They are often busy cleaning tanks, or some other chores around the store - but have always been very helpful with questions I have. I am also impressed with the amount of parts they have for different filters - I stopped in expecting not to find a gasket for a canister filter that is 20 years old, but there it was! Along with a whole wall of other parts if I ever need them. Prices are slightly higher than at big-box pet stores, I guess I expect that from any local business.

Love this place for all my pet needs. (I have several pets like dogs, cats, reptiles, fish and bunnies) they have everything I need. Only problem is I wish you guys were open till 8pm instead of 7pm... i work an 8 - 5 job and sometimes later, usually in Ann Arbor which makes it nearly impossible for me to run to the store to pick up what I need like rabbit pellets.. once again though, great place, animals always look healthy and well takem care of and I love the new reptile tanks. Though I'm a bit concerned with the housing of multiple bearded dragons in one tank thing...

Worst place I’ve ever been to. They are very uneducated and sold me a bunch of sick fish. I’d save your money and NEVER go to a terrible like this. They have ended up costing me a lot of money because I had to treat my tank and lost many other fish. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this place and all cost! Go to PetSmart. They’re way better priced and their tanks and fish are larger and healthier. I know, I’m shocked a chain is doing better than a personally owned store. But this store is awful. I used to love this pet store as I have never had a bad experience with the staff or the animals i have gotten from there; until now. I bought three baby rats from there after my older one (also bought from there about 6 months ago) died from a tumor. I hadn't even had them for more than 2 and a half weeks before 2/3 were dead from respiratory issues that must be due to how they are kept at the store. For the short time I had them, they were well fed and watered and their wire cage has been cleaned multiple times. I'm hoping the third little boy will be okay as he hasn't shown any signs of being sick like the others; yet.

me and my family have been coming to this pet store since the early 2000’s and they have always been the greatest in my eyes up until today, so about 2 weeks ago i stopped in here looking for a baby corn snake for my girlfriend for valentines day, the tanks they are being kept in are terrible for a corn snake to begin with but thats not my real complaint, i got the snake home and the next day i found a mite on his eye! after getting that taken care of i decided i wanted to get a crested gecko from them and ive had it a week and i woke up this morning to a healthy looking lizard, then i come home to feed him only to find him passed away. ive owned reptiles for my entire life so its safe to say i know what im doing. i dont think theyll be receiving any more of my business. reptile buyers beware!
