Stoped for fuel while on a motorcycle ride. I like jerky just fine so i thought I'll try some. Got going down the road and took a bite of this stuff and WOW is it good, I did a little sample of 4 different ones, all were VERY Good! Only wish I'd of bought more! I would highly recommend and will stop again any time I get near!!!

I'm from Eau Claire, WI and had some friends recommend that I stop there on our way to a camping trip near the bridge (they were recommended Gustafson's by a family members coworker). Anyways the jerky and slim jim's are absolutely mouth watering! I regret not trying the smoked fish after reading the reviews. I will definitely stop there again next time I'm in that part of the country and will buy as much as I can!

Has a small selection of normal gas station items like drinks and snacks, some UP souvenirs and trinkets but this little place has a huge bonus: smoked fish and meat. Some of the beat jerky that they house smoke. I always recommend to family and friends. They also have one public restroom. Parking and pumps are limited so sometimes a challenge when busy.

I have been coming here for years and years. When I was little, my dad always stopped to get jerky and smoked fish. I went to college in upper Michigan and this was always a stop heading down state. The quality and taste has stayed the same all these years, EXCELLENT!! My husband and his family are also big fans since learning about the magic of smoked fish! I live in Nashville now, but whenever I am up visiting family, or have family making the trip to visit me, Gustafson's is the ONLY stop needed for jerky and fish. I can't say enough good things about ther cajun jerky or the smoked salmon and whitefish. Go here, you will never regret it!

Great smoked meat. Love the ends and peices. One of the best place for smoked meat arround. Candy and gas are pricey. They have a few gifts. Bathroom is busy. There is a place to run your dog. It is a great stop.

An emergency bathroom stop for the kids turned into a huge lunchtime win. The smoked salmon, house-made slim jims, and cheese curds were fantastic. The salmon was expertly cooked. Staff was helpful in offering suggestions and helping us make decisions. A picnic area outside to enjoy the treats was a nice touch.

Where to start. Service was friendly and efficient, even though they were constantly busy. The smoked fish (White fish and Salmon) are done right and are delicious. My wife who is a smoked fish connoisseur said it some of the best she has had. The beef stick are awesome and the cheese we had was great as well. The smoker was going full blast as you drove in and you get the full aroma as you pull in the parking lot. worth the stop and maybe even a side trip from mackinaw the next time we are up there.

Smoked on premise: local whitefish, salmon, lake trout, plus many flavors of beef jerky. Very clean andand l maintained grounds! Can also walk dogs and fuel up.

Wow, just passing by and saw the outside fish locker smoking. Had to stop with no regrets, amazing food galore. I bought 1 pound of smoked lake trout what a treat! Highly recommended! Staff was extremely friendly...

Since I can’t leave a review on the other business owner by you, Gustafson’s U.P. North, I had to come here to voice my disgust that in this day and age there are still people and business owner’s who would treat people of color as if their dollars don’t spend the same as anyone else’s. A friend of mine has frequented UP North on multiple occasions where you have blatantly ignored her while being sweet as pie and overly helpful to other white customers. Despicable. Do better.

My family and I used to stop here at least once a year when I was a kid while on our way out to ride on the logging/Forestry trails. I loved stopping here and now almost 20 years later, I'm looking forward to sharing one of my best memories of visiting the U.P. with my own children this summer!! Stopped to get fuel here. Not only did I get fuel I got some fantastic smoked salmon and pepper jack slim jim's. Both were amazing. This place is truly awesome. If you love smoked meats and you're by this place you better stop. You won't regret it. They're extremely friendly and the store was clean, including the bathrooms which we're impeccable.
