Always delicious! We are never disappointed with the food or the service.
It was very busy, but we were seated almost immediately. There were only 2 of us. Our waitress was very nice and the food was very good.
Food is great, drinks are the bomb! And the people here are so friendly.
Great service and the food was excellent... blueberry muffin and lobster pie was spot on... definitely worth it!
Lobster pie was good, cod cake was OK but the seafood chowder was one of the best things I've ever had.
Visiting Maine for the first time from Pennsylvania and the Maine Diner was a fabulous start for our Maine Cuisine journey! The lobster pie and lobster roll were delicious! Friendly staff and atmosphere make this a must stop for any Maine traveler!
Service and waitress was excellent. Food was very good
Great food, fast service and fair price. A favorite place to eat.
So good! Fame has not ruined this local institution. Best coffee - they grind fresh beans just before brewing each pot. Blueberry pancakes are delicious. Meat lovers omelette is a monster but oh so good!
Busy, but service is decently quick. Drink selection isn't bad.
Worked hard at getting everyone seated quickly. Food was excellent and service great, especially for such a busy place.
Food and service were great at a reasonable price.
Not quite cracked up to what it is supposed to be. The service was great but the food was very bland. And the seafood plater was expensive for what was actually served. There seemed to be not much fish and just a lot fried junk; it also did not come with a side or even a pickle. No offense, but I can make much better food at home for cheaper. The breakfast items seemed to be a lot better than the lunch and dinner options. If you do go there, I recomed going for breakfast.
The food came out so fast! And our waitress was super friendly and smiley :) French toast was aaaaamazing, and home fries were made w red potatoes(my favorite) thank you!
So, we have heard so much about Maine Diner that we decided to finally give it a try. We now can say, "been there, done that." It was fine, but nothing about it is going to make us go back. We had breakfast, blueberry pancakes, eggs & hash. The pancakes were totally on the cake side, heavy, too heavy for me, the blueberries got lost. The eggs & hash were fine, but nothing that will make us go back. Maybe we need to try something other than breakfast, but it just doesn't call to us. Staff was fine, pretty well run machine, although, listening to the manager, owner?, talk about the boys trip where they drank too much while we were paying was weird.
This place consistently lives up to the claim , "Like Mom used to make." We have been visiting for years.
Awesome, authentic delicious lobster. Fairly priced. Good amount of parking.
My favorite restaurant in York county, never never had a bad meal, always fresh & Hot. Save room for there blueberry pie it's to die for. Awesome Food‼️
Been going here 40 plus years great always!
Had roast pork special. Ordered salad. Hadn't finished it and meal was put on table. Pork lacked flavor and was dry. Gravy didn't help. Only choice of hot vegetable was squash which I don't like.
The food was awesome in here. We tried seafood chowder, she-crab chowder as the starters. And it was creamy had full flavor of the sea and loads of chunks of seafood. Like Clam, lobster, crab and shrimp. And tried Lobster pie which was stunning. Fried boneless chicken breast, had a rich flavor and served with veggies and coleslaw. Kahuna tuna melt. Chicken club sandwich was dreamy. And we tried bread pudding with vanilla ice cream without the whipped cream. And the ice cream sundae. We were like stuffed turkey when we left the place. The service was good and friendly. And be patient to be in the queue since it's a well known among the locals and tourists.
Visited Maine Diner on a whim. Was impressed. Food was delicious. The Blueberry icecream was wonderful.
The Maine Diner is just about the best place for fresh seafood and for the comfort food we had growing up. We have been coming her for almost 20 years and have never been disappointed. Great service, amazing staff. Visit the gift shop next door for some unique items. Highly recommended!
Great breakfast. Order of pancakes covered the plate and hot off the griddle. Food tastes great. Only had to send over done toast back for fresh order.
Everything was good except the biscuits and gravy which were flavorless. Ordered a glass of water with a lemon, had to wait 30 minutes to get my water without the lemon. Needless to say our waitress wasn't great!
A definite must do! The food is AWESOME and the neighboring gift shop has such adorable and eclectic items. My husband and I went because it was on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri and we were not disappointed. I wish we didn't live 3 hours away or we would be there all the time
Didn't wait long for our table, but, once seated, we waited Forever! There was only one waitress for the whole front room. When she finally came over, I said 'We're ready to order', and she replied that we have to wait, as there are people in front of us, she only was to take our drink order. I commented that there should be more waitresses, and from that moment on, was on her bad side. She actually stood with her back to me while taking my breakfast order (which was pretty tricky), never made eye contact when setting down the food, and pretty much ignored me.
Great food. Generous portions. Friendly staff.
Busy but worth the wait. Reasonable prices and great food. Staff friendly and desserts to die for.
The only items I can review are the blueberry pie and coffee. Sorry to say that the crust on the pie was like biting into cardboard and the juice in the pie was very oozy and extremely sweet; I could not get the full flavor of the delicious Maine blueberries. The coffee was extremely weak and not flavorful at all and not deserving of a second cup. That being said....while I was waiting in line with other people some were raving about the seafood chowder and the whoopie pies and some were raving about the food. I am willing to someday go back and try a full meal so I can really have a good comparison between dessert, coffee and real food.
Loved it! was a bit cramped and there was a wait but it was worth it!
We have been dying there for well over 30 years and it never disappoints. If you're in the wells area it is a must stop. The food is amazing the prices are great and the staff is very friendly.
It's a great place for breakfast , lunch , only 1 1/2 hours from Boston in Wells , Maine .
We stopped to just have a taste of seafood for my seafood averse kids. It was pretty expensive and the place was packed. The food was pretty good (I enjoy seafood) but everything is fried. Friendly staff, clean.
Best Maine diner. Great service and food.
Lobster pie good but not great. Little too greasy. But lobster tender. Didn't care for the ice cream sundae. U need Gifford's ice cream!! Corn muffins very good as was the coleslaw.
Drove up from Boston area and decided to take Phantom Gourmet advice and stop in. We got apple crisps and coffee and it was just ok. Apple crisp pulled from refrigerated area and microwaved and then topped with ice cream. It was unevenly warmed and too much crumble and not enough apple. The service was nothing to write home about..just the minimum. I think I'd skip this place next time am up north for a good snack.
My waitress was so nice, I wish I got her name so she could be recognized. The food though was outstanding. I had the hot lobster roll and it was delish. I followed it with a side of mac and cheese which also was very good. I'd recommend this place to anyone
I love the Maine Diner, their seafood is always fresh and they have an amazing selection of food to try out.
The food was good dinner food. The lobster pie was delicious and a good portion. Also had a warm lobster roll that was flavorful and good in size. Had the soup sampler which was good but not great. She crab soup was too thick and the seafood chowder was too thin. I should have mixed together for the perfect consistency. The service fast and friendly.
The food was great. The service was good. Had the meet lovers omelette was stuffed with meat. My wife had the vegetable omelette she said it was great also. Very busy place.
Best place for a great breakfast. Nice dinner atmosphere.
Friendly atmosphere great and reasonably priced breakfast. Always had a good meal with top notch quality and quantity.
Never disappoint. It's not fancy food but it's hot and delicious and the service is great.
Good food and wonderful staff.
Seafood chowder and clam chowder are both worth driving for!! My husband and I also shared a scallop plate on our trip back to Massachusetts.
Lobster pie was NOT what it is hyped up to be. Literally bread crumbs on top of lobster.mashed potatoes are instant.crab chowder was way too think which made it unappetizing. Super disappointed ☹️
Food is great they are fast clean and friendly
I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact the place isn't big enough to handle the amount of people that go there with 20 to 40 minute wait for breakfast however if you don't mind the wait the food is great. Also if you go early am or brunch wait time is much shorter if at all. I would also mention that lunch and dinner I never had to wait. Staff is friendly waitresses are very competent of the many times I have eaten there never once did I have any issues with my order. Plenty of parking also has a very nice gift store right next door. Happy travel
Best lobster rolls, chowder, beef stew in bread bowl, chicken pot pie just to name a few...staff is awesome
Service was outstanding. Blueberry pancakes were great. Almond encrusted French toast was okay, but not up to its "fabulous" reputation. Lobster Pie was excellent
Seated almost instantly, food came out quickly. Coffee better than expected. Friendly staff, will be back!
Worst food I have EVER had. Fried clams cooked in oil that was at least 6 months old. Clams were dark brown from old oil and tasteless. Lobster tough and chewy. One star is a generous ranking.
The atmosphere was every nice. Great service. This was my second time there .This time I was not impressed with the crab cakes. Great amount t of food for the price but the had little flavor. There is aot to choose from. Would recommend anyone to go there.
Yummy raspberry pie! Busy but quick service! Love Maine!
Very good food friendly people yes I would go back again!
The food is out of this world , lovely atmosphere, great place to be , I love it have done for fithteen years thank-you for being here !!!
We had a child with a peanut allergy, there was little on the breakfast menu as everything was cooked on same grill as other grilled entree containing nuts. They should post a notice at the door to alert people that this is their policy. We were seated after a 20 minute wait before we knew. We would not have waited, had we known.
We always make it a point to dine here when in the area staying or just passing thru. We 1st seen it on Diners, DriveIns and Dives with Guy Fieri and just had to give it a try! Theres definitely a reason this Diner has made the hit TV series!
So delicious! Very filling and amazing waitress!! (Carol!)
We stayed in Wells for 4 days and this was our daily go to spot. We did upscale dinners but this was breakfast and lunch. Big fans of Diners,Drive-ins and Dives, Guy recommends it and we were not disappointed. Their menu had something for everyone and they have great corn muffins served with all the meals. A great family place with decent prices for the area.
This place lives up to the hype! Even if there's a wait you can shop at the gift shop. I had the New England style cod cakes. They're cod and mash potato cakes fried up golden brown and they were delicious. I also finished off my wife's blueberry pancakes. There isn't a more Maine appropriate breakfast food. And to top it all off. Fantastic diner coffee. I don't know why diner coffee tastes so good to me but it can't be beat.
Food with awesome in the The waitresses were awesome to great food
Top notch seafood and desserts. I didn't experience breakfast when I went, but it looked phenomenal. Staff was super friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back!
Great lobster pie! And great service!
Great food. Fun place to eat
The lobster pie and lobster mac and cheese were so delicious! Also got a fresh baked blueberry muffin with my meal which was also amazing. Give this place a try if you are in the area. So worth it!
Very good service Eggs cook right
Very nice people, fast and excellent service. Place was crowded and got our food faster than most drive thru. I got the chicken salad wrap with a pickle and potato salad. They tasted homemade and very good.
Good food Fast, frieny service
Great food, 5star service very affordable
35 year history of GREAT food, reasonably priced & served by very friendly staff!
Amazing place, visited several times now. The mac and cheese side for $4 brings me back to my childhood, and the Irish Benedict is always amazing. Blueberry pancakes are decent but very large so worth it.
We visited the Maine Diner in May. It was busy but there was no wait. Our waitress knew the menu in and out and was very helpful with selections. We were delighted to find that customers could substitute gluten free bread on many items on the menu. The food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere of the diner was lively but not loud. We had a wonderful experience and will undoubtedly eat here again when we return to Wells.
Excellent sea food chowder. Very generous amounts of meat (shrimp, scallops, lobster etc), in fact outnumbering any fillers like potatoes.Typical diner atmosphere was a little bit busy but not a long wait, nor was it noisy. Staff were friendly and service was good, and attentive. Also would recommend the lobster roll.
I can’t say enough good things about the Maine Diner! We come here every year while on vacation, and I’m never disappointed. Their corn muffins are addicting! I love their open face sandwiches (so good!). The breakfast is always great, the coffee and deserts are pretty good too! We actually eat only here while in Maine because nothing else compares. We love the waitresses, whom we’ve formed friendly relationships with throughout the years. It’s all around awesome. Anyone who disagrees (like the commenter below who has an “education” - rude much?) obviously cannot appreciate this place for what it is. Its a Maine landmark for a reason. The menu recipes were created by the owners mother way back when the diner opened, and they haven’t changed in the time since opening back in the 80s. This diner is unique because everyone is treated as family - no matter if your a local or a tourist.
Everything is delicious! I am never disappointed and the service is always excellent and friendly. Gluten free bread available as well!
Very disappointed. My lobster pie was terribly BURNT. I returned it & the 2nd one was less burnt but still burnt. All our meals were sub-par ....very disappointed. Not our 1st visit but most likely our last.
They have the best blueberry pie in Maine! The clam chowder and seafood chowder's were also delicious. The lobster bisque tasted strange. Service was prompt and curtious.
Great experience! Great food. Loved the ambiance, very friendly staff. The quintessential diner. If I am ever in Maine again, this place will be on my list.
Allie our server was so friendly. The food was home-cooking scrumptious!
Great food with many choices. Some even award winning. Awesome service and reasonably priced
Excellent food, learned I'm not a fan of baked cod cake, but the quality and freshness were fantastic.
Basic diner, good blueberry pancakes. Overrated in my opinion.
This is right by the Laudholm Trust, which is our new-favorite beach spot. It's quite busy, even at 2PM we had a 30 minute wait for a table of four. The food was good. Not great. To be fair, I'm only rating the breakfast. I can't say if the more Maine-inspired seafood dishes are good or great or terrible. To quote Parks and Recreation: Leslie: “Why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food?” Ron: “People are idiots, Leslie.” They served breakfast so I ate it. It was that simple. The blueberry pancakes were VERY blueberry pancakes. Good. Not great. The service, at least our waitress, was excellent. Not sure if that was good luck or just the way it is. I'm sure we'll be back at some point.
My favorite Diner so far. Amazing food and friendly staff. It was super busy but we waited for maybe 10 minutes. I got a half english breakfast and it was very tasty. The biscuits are large and the beans were amazing.
Fast service good food. My sweetheart and I was able to share a meal and have more than plenty to eat between the two of us at a very good price
We stopped here for dinner and liked it so much that we came back the next morning for breakfast They have all the classic diner foods with fast friendly service. For breakfast we had the same experience. I would definitely recommend this place if you are a fan of diner foods.
Love the Maine Diner! Have eaten here many times. Always very good. Desserts are made on site. I always have the Blueberry pie, heated up with ice creme if ican fit it in.Great prices for the quality of the food. We will be stopping here again.
If your in Wells, Maine you have to stop and eat here. Amazing
Excellent food for an extremely busy place.
Great food excellent service. Big portions, but have a Senior menu
Great food. Great service. Always busy but the wait wasn't too long and it was worth it!
Was actually across the street at the Bull and Claw. Had a delicious maple glazed Salmon dinner.
Very good for diner food.. I got to full on the corn muffin..
Always packed, but worth the wait. Great staff and blueberry pancakes. It's all good
We stop at the Maine Diner every time we come to Wells beach and never disappointed
This is one of my all time favorites. The daily specials are not only huge, but every one is better than the last. Baked haddock***
We went here for the first time today, and we had a great experience! The food was delicious, and the waitress was very friendly and helpful when dealing with my mother's food allergy. We look forward to coming back when we are in the area again!
Nice people! Delicious food! Cool place!
Great food. Worth the wait
We absolutely LOVED The Maine Diner! Visiting from Pennsylvania and being here was our first time. We came and conquered the Lobster Pie. TO. DIE. FOR! They are no joke with their baked goods as well. Whoopie Pies and cookies the size of a fully spanned large hand! We couldn’t believe our eyes. The staff are all extremely friendly. It was so great for dinner we came back the next day for breakfast and had the blueberry pancakes.
Have been going there for years. Great staff. Great breakfast.
Was just ok after all the hype. I wanted to love it, but it wasn't happening. The Blue Berry pancakes were fabulous, but everything else...not so much.
As popular and perfectly located as it is they should really consider treating it down and building something much bigger and more modern. I felt very cramped and the place was packed at 3pm. They're doing something very right I guess. Maybe I'm just getting old.
We go to the Maine diner quite often and always like it. Tonight was a very different story. We walked in and asked if we could sit at the two open seats at the counter. She said yes after it was cleaned and gave us a pager. We stood out in the hallway and watched about 4 tables get seated and still no one cleaning the counter. Two people come in and ask to sit at the counter, they were told someone was waiting for those seats and would get next available. This was a new woman training for this hostess job. The usual woman who does this job is pregnant and standing near her and must be training the new woman. Well the couple that came in after us pager goes off. The new woman seats them at the counter. I go in and tell her we were here first and she told us we would be sitting there. She then tells the other people that she made a mistake but there’s a table for two open and they can take that. The couple asked us what we preferred. We said either would be fine. They took the counter, we took the table. Fine, just wanted to eat. The couple had drinks and a muffin and we’re still waiting for a waitress. I then asked someone (a waitress) if we could put our order in. Then the pregnant hostess doing the training comes over with attitude and says” it’s only been a few minutes.. I said no it’s been a lot more than a few minutes! She starts walking away and says again “it’s only been a few minutes! She was very disrespectful!!!! We could see her talking about us to other employees. Always liked the Maine diner, not so much anymore. Food was good , service was terrible. But still left a 20% tip.
I'm a big fan of the Maine Diner. The food is good, especially the breakfasts, the lobster pie and the chowder. Even the coffee is good and you can't always count on that in Maine. The only thing that isn't terrific is that the place isn't much to look at, but I think that's actually a good thing because it can get awfully crowded inside, especially in the summer
It was, basically, good dinner fare. The hot roast beef was tasty and the French fries were okay. All the hoopla is about the seafood.
Very Crowded Diner with long wait times. Ordered Turkey dinner and it was Turkey LOAF!! OMG! Expected the real thing since they state in their menu that it's "Our own cooked turkey" Not True....I know Turkey Loaf when I see and taste it! Fixin's are Good. Disappointed. General Service was Good.
Love this place, great food. Taste like homr made, helpful and friendly staff. Get there early during the summer
The Super Seafood Platter at lunch time was excellent and enough leftover for supper. Nice to see a well established place so busy with quality level beyond compare!
ALWAYS Great meals, comfort food. Great staff. Diner atmosphere family friendly place. I make it a point to stop here. Worth waiting for.
Great food
Very good but prices are kinda high for breakfast. I understand it's a famous place but there are so many other choices for breakfast that are better and less money. We still enjoy visiting once each time we visit.
Love the food. Staff is great. You never know who you might run into (L.Tiant).
A bit overrated in our opinion. Sadly, the lobster in the lobster pie was WAY overcooked and chewy. Zucchini and squash was overcooked and not seasoned at all. Thankfully the corn muffin was great and the baked potato was edible.
A meal at the Maine Diner is well-worth a trip from Vermont. The fried shrimp is succulent and sweet. The potato salad's texture is perfect. The warmed chocolate chip cookie dough pie a la mode topped a perfect meal. Allie couldn't have been more attentive. We make the Maine Diner part of our Maine trip treat.
Good food. Fast service. Busy diner.
Lobster pie was excellent. And the seafood chowder was even better. Chock full of lobster, scallops, clams and shrimp
Awesome food. Anytime i visit Maine that is the first place i go to eat and the last place i visit so i can take food home on my way out of the state. To put it simply how good the food is there, i was in Ayer MA on a work trip and instead of heading home in the morning. I drove several hour in the opposite direction just to go have some seafood chowder there for breakfast.
Great breakfast spot! I had the lobster Benedict and it was delicious! Fast and friendly service!
Fast, friendly service and excellent food. If you're in the area or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. Both their blueberry pancakes and almond encrusted french toast are delicious. The wait can be pretty long at times, but it's well worth it. Indulge yourself, enjoy yourself, fill up on this amazing food. They even have gluten free options for some of their dishes!
Great New England food. Lobster served many ways, including for breakfast. One of the few places in the world that you can get Indian Pudding.
We ate here on a recommendation. After trying many other Maine eateries... this one was a disappointment. The food was not worth what we paid for it. The waitress did remove the She Crab Soup from the bill because it was so salty I could not eat it. We had debated between this and another location... I wish we had passed this option up. Maybe it was just a bad day.
Very nice little place, friendly service, very good food... definitely worth a stop!
The food here can be hit or miss, but the atmosphere and history makes it a 5 star place every time. I have been to the Maine Diner a couple dozen times over the years, and there are certain dishes that I get on a regular basis. The seafood chowder for one is amazing. Go for the atmosphere, reasonable prices, and to be a part of history. On top of that, you will probably get a great meal as well - except for the times you get a mediocre one.
One of those unusual places that lives up to the great amount of hype. Great prices and selection- the codfish cakes are an absolute must. Our party really enjoyed the lobster roll, the blueberry pancakes, the homemade chili and the homemade pies! Service was homey and welcoming, and food was fast to arrive. They accommodated our large group (13) without a problem.
Went on a busy Saturday morning. Food was overcooked and rushed. I've been here many times in the past and have never had food like this. Very disappointed
Very clean, incredibly popular, over rated. This place has a "diner" feel to it, but since Guy Fieri from Dinners, Drive-ins, and Dives featured it in an episode, it's a hopping place. The foods ok and they have a massive menu that should have something that appeals to everyone. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Our server, whose name I can't remember, was incredibly friendly and personable with us - despite being obvious tourists. In the end we both tried a couple of the signature dishes that featured a variety of "must have when in Maine" items. The chowder was excellent, but the rest was no more exciting than fried food or food swimming in butter at Red Lobster. And ridiculously expensive. For two of us, the bill was close to $70 with tip. Wow. Maybe pancakes and eggs next time. Oh well, checked it off the list.
Great food and good service. Very friendly atmosphere. It's very busy and attracts quite the crowd.
I had breakfast for brunch. Eggs, toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, all times two for 10 bucks. Very good.
Great restaurant breakfast all day. Second best turkey dinner ever in any restaurant
As usual, Maine diner has a great selection of food. From seafood to meatloaf and the famous Eddie Andelmans hot dogs and macaroni and cheese dinner. And, oh yes, most meals come with corn muffin !
Fast efficient service, good price, have the blueberry pancakes
Wow! Wow! Wow!!!! This place is the best. I had breakfast and because I couldn’t decide I had one blueberry pancake and two slices of French toast. The pancake is made with real wild Maine blueberries and when they say loaded they mean it. I didn’t have a bite that didn’t have blueberries in it. The batter is perfect with a nice hint of vanilla. The French toast was Texas toast dipped in almond batter egg wash and then dipped in crushed almonds. Wow what a taste. After eating both I couldn’t decide what was better so I’m calling it a tie. I also highly suggest spending the extra dollar for pure maple syrup. It was worth the extra buck and really made the meal. The wife had a hot lobster roll on gluten free bread and loved it. Very big portions are also a staple in this place. Come hungry. Finally I can’t say enough about the staff. They are friendly and efficient without being a hovering waitress. They know the menu and are happy to make suggestions. Even if you have to wait it’s worth it.
Loved the fried crab cakes. Chicken pot pie was all white meat, had a thin and flaky crust, and was hearty. Blueberry pie was sweet and delicious with small berries.
Good food. Breakfast was tasty after a long wait for a table. Ordered the lobster mac n cheese one night. Very little lobster in it, unlike the picture of the dish Guy Ferrara (sp?) had when he visited. Service was efficient but rushed.
We heard the Maine Diner was recommended by Guy Fieri, the Phantom Gourmet and other high profile Sportscasters. We got the soup sampler: choice of 3 including”world famous seafood chowder “ We had the She Crab, Seafood Chowder,Clam Chowder and Beef Noodle. I found the soups to be very over salted. The nice flavor of the soups was there if you could get through the salt! Next I had the “Dale Arnold”- a hot lobster rolled on a grilled roll with a side of drawn butter. They neglected to tell me the outside of the roll would be drowned in so much bitter before grilling that it was a greasy mess. Ironically the place where a touch of salt would have been good ( in the drawn butter) was not there. At least I could have enjoyed eating the lobster dipped in butter without the greasy roll. My hubs got the lobster pie. Though there was plenty of lobster in both my roll and his pie, he said he thought maybe he’d lost his taste for lobster. Said all he could taste was breadcrumbs, butter and whatever the “secret ingredients” are, and not the lobster. We drove out of our way to what we heard was a famous restaurant, very disappointing!
Can't even believe this place was featured on the phantom gourmet! I have never had such a terrible seafood platter in my life. They sat 5 people in a small corner all crunched up where the people in the booth behind could barely get in and out of their booth. They forgot a chowder on our order...gave us a sample yuck. The Fisher mans platter was small and got nothing for your money. The real reason for the review was the reaction and treatment from the waitress...after I politely told her the food was terrible she became very nasty. Not worth the money for sure!!
Great place, however the wait is bothersome. Prices are decent. We drove out of our way by 3 hours to try it, and it was great the food was good and we didn't throw up after, so overall great experience. I wouldn't go out of my way again to eat here, due to my commute, however next time I'm in Maine it's good to know of at least 1 reliable breakfast place
The food we had was excellent. The lobster pie wad the best. The wait went very fast Our waitress was very sweet and helpful with the menu. Will return for breakfast.
We went for breakfast and were not disappointed. The benny with codcake was outstanding and super service...also have gluten free options.
Great new England seafood. Lots of lobster dishes and homemade plates. Friendly and efficient service. Absolutely recommend it
I've been going here with my family every summer since I was young :D The hot soup bar and salad bar with the endless amount of toppings is honestly one of the reasons why I love this diner. And of course I wouldn't forget the DELICIOUS hot and soft garlic rolls ;) can't wait to eat here again!
The best breakfast you can get. The coffee is hot, the food is made to order. The sausage links, in particular, are delish! Plan on a wait of 10-20 minutes for a table for two. Enjoy the quaint gift shop while you wait!
Used to be very good. Today clam chowder was lukewarm, blt was mostly l very little t and one slice of b for $6.00. Bread was not toasted. We had two different pies and we couldn't cut the crust without a knife. It was like cardboard. I don't think we will go back. You can't live on your laurels unless you live up to them.
This place is fantastic. The portion sizes are good, and if you get one of the breakfast burritos you better bring the appetite. Because it's big. And filling. Also the corn muffins are good enough that five Iowa boys raved about the corn muffins for days. They would tell you that it is the best corn muffins you could ever have. Really this is the place to be. And it's usually busy, which is another great sign. Plan ahead because for breakfast you may have to wait a bit before eating. It is worth it though! So stay, chill, eat your fill, and mark it in your maps to never forget it!
Ate here several times during our visit to Maine and was never disappointed. Food is fantastic! Also love the diner atmosphere and friendly staff.
A classic diner with a modern refinement. Don't disregard the corn muffin. It is the best corn muffin in the world.
Great blueberry pancakes. Beware there will be a wait for good stuff.
The best soups and chowders I tasted on the entire journey through Maine! Fast service and a few famous dishes also. Highly recommend!!!
I give the Maine Diner five stars, and I give their gift shop five stars . Their staff is friendly and helpful. They have a nice menu and their food is delicious. When I was at the Maine Diner I enjoyed my experience there immensely. The Maine Diner is very popular, the Maine Diner is a really nice place.
I have not been though this diners doors for at least 3-4 years now....My family and I were repeat customers......my family no longer goes as well......went in for breakfast, (off season) asked for over medium eggs and got barely over easy eggs. Told waitress right away and she said: " if you want over medium ask for over hard"????? She argued with me about how to order eggs.... Being a professional short order cook I know my stuff....its taken me this long to give this review as I hate bad reviews, but if it's earned, it's earned. I hope they have improved.....and got rid of that waitress.
Food is general comfort food at an okay price.
Amazing food and even kid friendly:) friendly staff and quick service... will absolutely go back again!
Long waits, regular diner food. Good prices. Great service of course. Tiny little Diner and a huge parking lot. That leads to long waiting time, over an hour. Then you wait another hour for food. It’s good food. I thought the Mac and cheese was just a little bland. The kielbasa was great and they went good together. But I wanted more side order options. The burger was good. The chips were fine. But worth waiting an hour? Idk that’s up to you to decide!
Prices way to high ,portion not enough food ! Food was good
It's okay. It's a diner. I've been at much better ones. The tea water was not hot, and the omelette was ok.
